¹ And in the seventh year has Jehoiada strengthened himself, and takes the heads of the hundreds, even Azariah son of Jeroham, and Ishmael son of Jehohanan, and Azariah son of Obed, and Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri, with him into covenant. ² And they go round about in Judah, and gather the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and heads of the fathers of Israel, and come in unto Jerusalem, ³ and all the assembly make a covenant in the house of Elohim with the king, and he said to them, `Lo, the son of the king does reign, as Yahweh spoke concerning the sons of David. <sup>4</sup> `This [is] the thing that you do:The third of you, going in on the sabbath, of the priests, and of the Levites, [are] for gatekeepers of the thresholds, ⁵ and the third [are] at the house of the king, and the third at the gate of the foundation, and all the people [are] in the courts of the house of Yahweh. ⁶ `And none does enter the house of Yahweh except the priests, and those ministering of the Levites (they go in for they [are] holy), and all the people keep the watch of Yahweh. <sup>7</sup> and the Levites have compassed the king round about, each with his weapon in his hand, and he who has gone in unto the house is put to death; and be you with the king in his coming in and in his going out.. <sup>8</sup> And the Levites and all Judah do according to all that Jehoiada the priest has commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest has not let away the courses. <sup>9</sup> And Jehoiada the priest gives to the heads of the hundreds the spears, and the shields, and the bucklers that [are] king David's, that [are] in the house of Elohim;" <sup>10</sup> and he stations the whole of the people, and each his dart in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, at the altar, and at the house, by the king, round about. <sup>11</sup> And they bring out the son of the king, and put upon him the crown, and the testimony, and cause him to reign; and Jehoiada and his sons anoint him, and say, `Let the king live!. ¹² And Athaliah hears the voice of the people who are running, and who are praising the king, and she comes in unto the people in the house of Yahweh, ¹³ and sees, and lo, the king is standing by his pillar in the entrance, and the heads, and the trumpets [are] by the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and shouting with trumpets, and the singers with instruments of song, and the teachers, to praise, and Athaliah rends her garments, and said, `Conspiracy, conspiracy.. <sup>14</sup> And Jehoiada the priest brings out the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and said unto them, `Take her out from within the rows, and he who has gone after her is put to death by the sword;' for the priest said, `Put her not to death [in] the house of Yahweh.. ¹⁵ And they make for her sides, and she comes in unto the entrance of the gate of the horses at the house of the king, and they put her to death there. ¹⁶ And Jehoiada makes a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, to be for a people to Yahweh;" ¹⁷ and all the people enter the house of Baal, and break it down, yea, his altars and his images they have broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars. ¹⁸ And Jehoiada puts the offices of the house of Yahweh into the hand of the priests the Levites whom David had apportioned over the house of Yahweh, to cause to ascend the burnt-offerings of Yahweh, as written in the law of Moses, with joy, and with singing, by the hands of David;" ¹⁹ and he stations the gatekeepers over the gates of the house of Yahweh, and the unclean in anything does not go in. ²⁰ And he takes the heads of the hundreds, and the honorable ones, and the rulers among the people, and all the people of the land, and brings down the king from the house of Yahweh, and they come in through the high gate to the house of the king, and cause the king to sit on the throne of the kingdom. ²¹ And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city has been quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword.

³ And Jonathan makes--also David--a covenant, because he loves him as his own soul,

⁴ And in the seventh year has Jehoiada sent and takes the heads of the hundreds, of the executioners and of the runners, and brings them in unto him, to the house of Yahweh, and makes with them a covenant, and causes them to swear in the house of Yahweh, and shows them the son of the king, ⁵ and commands them, saying, `This [is] the thing that you do; The third of you [are] going in on the sabbath, and keepers of the charge of the house of the king, <sup>6</sup> and the third [is] at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and you have kept the charge of the house pulled down;" <sup>7</sup> and two parts of you, all going out on the sabbath--they have kept the charge of the house of Yahweh about the king, <sup>8</sup> and you have compassed the king round about, each with his weapons in his hand, and he who is coming unto the ranges is put to death; and be you with the king in his going out and in his coming in.. <sup>9</sup> And the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest, <sup>10</sup> and the priest gives to the heads of the hundreds the spears and the shields that king David had, that [are] in the house of Yahweh. <sup>11</sup> And the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;" <sup>12</sup> and he brings out the son of the king, and puts on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live.. ¹³ And Athaliah hears the voice of the runners [and] of the people, and she comes in unto the people, to the house of Yahweh, ¹⁴ and looks, and lo, the king is standing by the pillar, according to the ordinance, and the heads, and the trumpets, [are] by the king, and all the people of the land are rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets, and Athaliah rends her garments, and calls, `Conspiracy! conspiracy!. <sup>15</sup> And Jehoiada the priest commands the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and said unto them, `Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:' for the priest had said, `Let her not be put to death in the house of Yahweh.. ¹⁶ And they make for her sides, and she enters the way of the entering in of the horses to the house of the king, and is put to death there. ¹⁷ And Jehoiada makes the covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, to be for a people to Yahweh, and between the king and the people. ¹⁸ And all the people of the land go in to the house of Baal, and break it down, its altars and its images they have thoroughly broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars; and the priest sets inspectors over the house of Yahweh, ¹⁹ and takes the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Yahweh, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sits on the throne of the kings. ²⁰ And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city [is] quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;"

¹² and they enter into a covenant to seek Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul,

³⁸ And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed [are] our heads, our Levites, our priests..

¹² and said to them, `You [are] heads of the fathers of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, and you have brought up the ark of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, unto [the place] I have prepared for it;"

⁶ And Shemaiah son of Nethaneel the scribe, of the Levites, writes them before the king and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and heads of the fathers, for priests and for Levites:one house of a father being taken possession of for Eleazar, and one being taken possession of for Ithamar.

¹³ And the priests, and the Levites, that [are] in all Israel, have stationed themselves by him, out of all their border, ¹⁴ for the Levites have left their suburbs and their possession, and they come to Judah and to Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons have cast them off from acting as priests to Yahweh, ¹⁵ and he establishes to him priests for high places, and for goats, and for calves, that he made-. ¹⁶ and after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those giving their heart to seek Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh, Elohim of their father. ¹⁷ And they strengthen the kingdom of Judah, and strengthen Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.

² And he has brethren, sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these [are] sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel,

⁵ It is good when a man is gracious and obliging; He shall sustain his affairs with right judgment.

¹⁶ Lo! I am dispatching you as a sheep in the midst of wolves. Become, then, prudent as serpents and artless as doves."

¹⁵ Be observing accurately, then, brethren, how you are walking, not as unwise, but as wise,

³ And all the elders of Israel come unto the king, to Hebron, and king David makes with them a covenant in Hebron before Yahweh, and they anoint David for king over Israel.

¹² `When your days are full, and you have lain with your fathers, then I have raised up your seed after you which goes out from your bowels, and have established his kingdom;"

¹⁶ and stedfast [is] your house and your kingdom unto the eon before you, your throne is established unto the eon..

⁴ so that Yahweh does establish His word which He spoke unto me, saying, If your sons observe their way to walk before Me in truth, with all their heart, and with all their soul; saying, There is not cut off a man of your from the throne of Israel.

⁵ then I have established the throne of your kingdom over Israel--to the eon, as I spoke unto David your father, saying, There is not cut off to you a man from [being] on the throne of Israel.

¹⁷ And Jehoiada makes the covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, to be for a people to Yahweh, and between the king and the people.

⁹ And their brethren, according to their generations, [are] nine hundred and fifty and six. All these [are] men, heads of fathers, according to the house of their fathers. ¹⁰ And of the priests:Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin, ¹¹ and Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, leader in the house of Elohim;" ¹² and Adaiah son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah, and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer. ¹³ And their brethren, heads to the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty, mighty in valor, [are] for the work of the service of the house of Elohim. ¹⁴ And of the Levites:Shemaiah son of Hashshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;" ¹⁵ and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah son of Micah, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;" ¹⁶ and Obadiah son of Shemariah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah, son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who is dwelling in the villages of the Netophathite. ¹⁷ And the gatekeepers [are] Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren--Shallum [is] the head;" ¹⁸ and hitherto they [are] at the gate of the king eastward; they [are] the gatekeepers for the companies of the sons of Levi. ¹⁹ And Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, [are] over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, and their fathers [are] over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entrance;" ²⁰ and Phinehas son of Eleazar has been leader over them formerly; Yahweh [is] with him. ²¹ Zechariah son of Meshelemiah [is] gatekeeper at the opening of the tent of meeting. ²² All of those who are chosen for gatekeepers at the thresholds [are] two hundred and twelve; they [are] in their villages, by their genealogy; they whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office. ²³ And they and their sons [are] over the gates of the house of Yahweh, even of the house of the tent, by watches. ²⁴ At four sides are the gatekeepers, east, west, north, and south. ²⁵ And their brethren in their villages [are] to come in for seven days from time to time with these. ²⁶ For in office [are] the four chiefs of the gatekeepers, they are Levites, and they have been over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of Elohim, ²⁷ and round about the house of Elohim they lodge, for on them [is] the watch, and they [are] over the opening, even morning by morning.

³ And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David makes with them a covenant in Hebron before Yahweh, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh by the hand of Samuel.

¹⁶ `And now, O Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, keep for Your servant David my father that which You did speak to him, saying, There is not cut off to you a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel, only, if your sons watch their way to walk in My law, as you have walked before Me.

¹⁸ then I have established the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, There is not cut off a man to you--a ruler in Israel;"

⁷ and Yahweh has not been willing to destroy the house of David, for the sake of the covenant that He made with David, and as He had said to give to him a lamp, and to his sons--all the days.

¹⁶ And Jehoiada makes a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, to be for a people to Yahweh;"

²⁹ I will establish his seed for the future, And his throne as the days of the heavens."

³⁶ His seed shall continue for the eon, And his throne as the sun in front of Me,

²⁵ And their brethren in their villages [are] to come in for seven days from time to time with these.

³ and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand. ⁴ Of these to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh [are] twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand, ⁵ and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Yahweh, `with instruments that I made for praising,' [said David.. ⁶ And David distributes them into courses:Of the sons of Levi:of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

³ And David distributes them, and Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their office in their service;" ⁴ and there are found of the sons of Eleazar more for heads of the mighty men than of the sons of Ithamar; and they distribute them:Of the sons of Eleazar, heads for a house of fathers, sixteen; and of the sons of Ithamar, for a house of their fathers, eight. ⁵ And they distribute them, by lots, one with another, for princes of the sanctuary, and princes of Elohim, have been of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. ⁶ And Shemaiah son of Nethaneel the scribe, of the Levites, writes them before the king and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and heads of the fathers, for priests and for Levites:one house of a father being taken possession of for Eleazar, and one being taken possession of for Ithamar.

¹³ and they cause to fall lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for gate and gate. ¹⁴ And the lot falls eastward to Shelemiah; and [for] Zechariah his son--a counsellor with understanding--they cause to fall lots, and his lot goes out northward. ¹⁵ to Obed-Edom southward, and to his sons, the house of the gatherings;" ¹⁶ to Shuppim and to Hosah to the west, with the gate Shallecheth, in the highway, the ascent, charge over-against charge;"

⁸ Now it occurred, in his doing the priestly duties in the order of his routine in front of God, ⁹ according to the custom of the priestly office, he chanced to burn incense, entering into the temple of the Lord."

⁵ and commands them, saying, `This [is] the thing that you do; The third of you [are] going in on the sabbath, and keepers of the charge of the house of the king, ⁶ and the third [is] at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and you have kept the charge of the house pulled down;"

² And Yahweh said unto me, `This gate is shut, it is not opened, and none does go in by it, for Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, has come in by it, and it has been shut." ³ The prince, who [is] prince, he sits by it to eat bread before Yahweh, by the way of the porch of the gate he comes in, and by its way he goes out.'"

² and come in has the prince the way of the porch of the gate at the outside, and he has stood by the post of the gate, and the priests have made his burnt-offering, and his peace-offerings, and he has bowed himself by the opening of the gate, and has gone forth, and the gate is not shut till the evening." ³ And bowed themselves have the people of the land at the opening of that gate, on sabbaths, and on new moons, before Yahweh."

² And a certain man, being inherently lame from his mother's womb, was borne, whom they placed day by day at the door of the sanctuary which is termed "Beautiful,to request alms from those going into the sanctuary,

⁶ and the third [is] at the gate of Sur, and the third at the gate behind the runners, and you have kept the charge of the house pulled down;" ⁷ and two parts of you, all going out on the sabbath--they have kept the charge of the house of Yahweh about the king,

²⁸ for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Yahweh, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of Elohim, ²⁹ and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;" ³⁰ and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Yahweh, and so at evening;" ³¹ and for all the burnt-offerings--burnt-offerings to Yahweh for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Yahweh. ³² And they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Yahweh.

¹² Also you shall set a boundary for the people round about, saying: Guard yourselves concerning ascent into the mountain or touching its outmost part. Everyone touching the mountain shall be put to death, yea death. ¹³ No hand shall touch him, for he shall be stoned, yea stoned or shot, yea shot; whether beast or man, he shall not live. When the alarm horn draws forth, they may ascend onto the mountain.

¹⁴ Yet in case a man was planning arrogantly against his associate so as to kill him by craft, from My altar shall you take him to die.

¹⁰ And to Aaron and his sons shall you commit this that they observe their priesthood. But any alien who comes near shall be put to death.

³⁸ Those encamping before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of appointment, toward the sunrise, were Moses and Aaron and his sons, the ones keeping charge of the sanctuary as the charge of the sons of Israel. But any alien who comes near shall be put to death.

⁹ And the priest said, `The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you did smite in the valley of Elah, lo, it is wrapped in a garment behind the ephod, if it you do take to yourself, take; for there is none other save it in this [place].' And David said, `There is none like it--give it to me..

⁷ and David takes the shields of gold which were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brings them to Jerusalem;"

⁶ You will put the altar of ascent offering before the portal of the tabernacle of the tent of appointment,

¹¹ And the runners stand, each with his weapons in his hand, from the right shoulder of the house unto the left shoulder of the house, by the altar and by the house, by the king round about;"

¹² And he stands before the altar of Yahweh, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreads out his hand, -.

¹⁶ You will put the testimony which I shall give to you into the coffer.

¹⁸ He gave to Moses, as He finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of Elohim.

¹⁸ It will come to be when he is seated on the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for himself a duplicate of this law on a scroll from the one before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it will be with him, and he will read in it all the days of his life that he may learn:to fear Yahweh your Elohim, to observe all the words of this law and these statutes to obey them, ²⁰ by no means to exalt his heart above his brothers and by no means to withdraw from the instruction, neither to the right nor left, so that he may prolong his days on the throne of his kingdom, he and his sons among Israel.

¹ And Samuel takes the vial of the oil, and pours on his head, and kisses him, and said, `Is it not because Yahweh has appointed you over His inheritance for leader?

²⁴ And Samuel said unto all the people, `Have you seen him on whom Yahweh has fixed, for there is none like him among all the people?' And all the people shout, and say, `Let the king live!.

¹⁰ And I stand over him, and put him to death, for I knew that he does not live after his falling, and I take the crown which [is] on his head, and the bracelet which [is] on his arm, and bring them in unto my lord hither..

¹⁶ and it comes to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, has come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, `Let the king live! let the king live!.

³⁴ and anointed him there has Zadok the priest--and Nathan the prophet--for king over Israel, and you have blown with a trumpet, and said, Let king Solomon live;"

³⁹ and Zadok the priest takes the horn of oil out of the tent, and anoints Solomon, and they blow with a trumpet, and all the people say, `Let king Solomon live..

¹² and he brings out the son of the king, and puts on him the crown, and the testimony, and they make him king, and anoint him, and smite the hand, and say, `Let the king live..

¹¹ And Jehoshabeath daughter of the king takes Joash son of Ahaziah, and steals him from the midst of the sons of the king who are put to death, and puts him and his nurse into the inner part of the bed-chambers, and Jehoshabeath daughter of king Jehoram, wife of Jehoiada the priest, because she has been sister of Ahaziah, hides him from the face of Athaliah, and she has not put him to death.

¹⁰ And now, O kings, be intelligent; Be admonished, all judges of the earth;" ¹¹ Serve Yahweh with fear, And exult with quivering. ¹² Bear admonition lest He should be angry, And you should perish in the way, For His anger shall consume speedily. Happy are all those taking refuge in Him.

³ For You shall succor him with blessings of good; You shall set a glittering gold crown on his head.

⁵ For He set up a testimony in Jacob, And He placed a law in Israel, Which He enjoined on our fathers To make them known to their sons,

²⁰ I have found David My servant; With My holy oil have I anointed him,

³⁹ You have disowned the covenant with Your servant; You have profaned his insignia down to the earth.

¹⁸ His enemies shall I clothe with shame, Yet his insignia shall blossom upon him."

¹⁶ Tie up the testimony, and seal the law among my learners,

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they are not speaking according to this word, there is no bribe for them"

²³ and kings become your foster fathers, and their chiefesses your wet nurses. Nostrils to the earth, shall they prostrate to you, and the soil at your feet shall they lick up. Then you shall know that I am Yahweh, and those expecting Me shall not be ashamed."

⁹ Now the throngs preceding and following Him cried, saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed be He Who is coming in the name of the Lord!' Hosanna among the highest!"

²⁶ Standing by are the kings of the land, And the chancellors gathered in the same place, Against the Lord and against His Christ.'" ²⁷ For of a truth, in this city were gathered against Thy holy Boy Jesus, Whom Thou dost anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the nations and the peoples of Israel,

⁹ Yet we are observing Jesus, Who has been made some bit inferior to messengers (because of the suffering of death, wreathed with glory and honor), so that in the grace of God, He should be tasting death for the sake of everyone."

¹² Happy is the man who is enduring trial, for, becoming qualified, he will be obtaining the wreath of life, which He promises to those loving Him."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him?

⁴ And around the throne I perceived twenty-four thrones, and on the twenty-four thrones elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and on their heads golden wreaths."

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders, also, will be falling before Him Who is sitting on the throne and will be worshiping Him Who is living for the eons of the eons (Amen!). And they are casting their wreaths before the throne, saying,

¹⁰ Thou dost also make them a kingdom and a priesthood for our God, And they shall be reigning on the earth."

¹² Now His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, having names written of which no one except Himself is aware,

³² And he lifts up his face unto the window, and said, `Who [is] with me? --who?' and look out unto him do two [or] three eunuchs;" <sup>33</sup> And he said, `Let her go;' and they let her go, and [some] of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treads her down. ³⁴ And he comes in, and eats, and drinks, and said, `Look after, I pray you, this cursed one, and bury her, for she [is] a king's daughter.. <sup>35</sup> And they go to bury her, and have not found of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands. <sup>36</sup> And they turn back, and declare to him, and he said, `The word of Yahweh it [is], that He spoke by the hand of this servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel do the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel, ³⁷ and the carcase of Jezebel has been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they say not, This [is] Jezebel..

¹³ And Athaliah hears the voice of the runners [and] of the people, and she comes in unto the people, to the house of Yahweh, ¹⁴ and looks, and lo, the king is standing by the pillar, according to the ordinance, and the heads, and the trumpets, [are] by the king, and all the people of the land are rejoicing, and blowing with trumpets, and Athaliah rends her garments, and calls, `Conspiracy! conspiracy!. <sup>15</sup> And Jehoiada the priest commands the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and said unto them, `Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:' for the priest had said, `Let her not be put to death in the house of Yahweh.. ¹⁶ And they make for her sides, and she enters the way of the entering in of the horses to the house of the king, and is put to death there.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ² Make for yourself two bugles of silver. Out of a stiff shell shall you make them. And they will become yours for the calling of the congregation and for the journeying of the camps. ³ When they blow long on both of them, then the whole congregation will congregate with you at the opening of the tent of appointment. ⁴ Yet should they blow long on just one, then the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, will congregate with you. ⁵ When you blow a short blast then the camps encamping eastward will journey. ⁶ When you blow the second blast then the camps encamping southward will journey. When you blow the third blast then the camps encamping westward will journey. When you blow the fourth blast then the camps encamping northward will journey. Short blasts shall they blow for their decampings; ⁷ yet when the assembly is to assemble you shall blow long and not sound short blasts. ⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the bugles. And they will be to you as an eonian statute throughout your generations. ⁹ In case you enter a war in your land with the foe who is distressing you then you will blast on the bugles, and you will be remembered before Yahweh your Elohim, and you will be saved from your enemies. ¹⁰ And in the day of your rejoicing, in your appointments and at the beginnings of your months you will blow on bugles over your ascent offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they will be to you for a memorial before your Elohim. I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

⁸ And the people take the provision in their hand, and their trumpets, and every man of Israel he has sent away, each to his tents; and on the three hundred men he has kept hold, and the camp of Midian has been by him at the lower part of the valley.

¹⁸ and I have blown with a trumpet--I and all who [are] with me, and you have blown with trumpets, even you, round about all the camp, and have said, For Yahweh and for Gideon.. ¹⁹ And Gideon comes--and the hundred men who [are] with him--into the extremity of the camp, [at] the beginning of the middle watch (it has only just confirmed the watchmen), and they blow with trumpets--dashing in pieces also the pitchers which [are] in their hand;" ²⁰ and the three detachments blow with trumpets, and break the pitchers, and keep hold with their left hand on the lamps, and with their right hand on the trumpets to blow, and they cry, `The sword of Yahweh and of Gideon.. ²¹ And they stand each in his place, round about the camp, and all the camp runs, and they shout, and flee;" ²² and the three hundred blow the trumpets, and Yahweh sets the sword of each against his companion, even through all the camp; and the camp flees unto Beth-Shittah, at Zererath, unto the border of Abel-Meholah, by Tabbath.

³⁹ and Zadok the priest takes the horn of oil out of the tent, and anoints Solomon, and they blow with a trumpet, and all the people say, `Let king Solomon live.. ⁴⁰ And all the people come up after him, and the people are piping with pipes, and rejoicing--great joy, and the earth rends with their voice.

¹⁷ and it comes to pass at Ahab's seeing Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, `Are you he--the troubler of Israel?. <sup>18</sup> And he said, `I have not troubled Israel, but you and the house of your father, in your forsaking the commands of Yahweh, and you go after the Baalim;"

¹³ And they haste and take each his garment, and put [it] under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a trumpet, and say, `Reigned has Jehu!.

²³ And Jehoram turns his hands, and flees, and said unto Ahaziah, `Deceit, O Ahaziah!.

³ And the king stands by the pillar, and makes the covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep His commands, and His testimonies, and His statutes, with all the heart, and with all the soul, to establish the words of this covenant that are written on this book, and all the people stand in the covenant.

⁴⁰ And also those near unto them, unto Issachar, and Zebulun, and Naphtali, are bringing in bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen--food of fine flour, fig-cakes and grape-cakes, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep, in abundance, for joy [is] in Israel.

¹⁶ And David said to the heads of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of song, psalteries, and harps, and cymbals, sounding, to lift up with the voice for joy. ¹⁷ And the Levites appoint Heman son of Joel, and of his brethren, Asaph son of Berechiah, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan son of Kushaiah;" ¹⁸ and with them their brethren, the seconds [in rank], Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah; and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers;" ¹⁹ and the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with cymbals of brass to sound, ²⁰ and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jeheil, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries besides virgins, ²¹ and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps, on the octave, to oversee. ²² And Chenaniah, head of the Levites, [is] over the burden; he instructs about the burden, for he [is] intelligent.

²⁴ And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests, are blowing with trumpets before the ark of Elohim; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah [are] gatekeepers for the ark.

²⁷ And David is wrapped in an upper robe of fine linen, and all the Levites who are bearing the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah head of the burden of the singers; and on David [is] an Ephod of linen.

¹ And David and the heads of the host separate for service, of the sons of Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun, who are prophesying with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals, and the number of the workmen is according to their service. ² Of sons of Asaph:Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, [are] by the side of Asaph, who is prophesying by the side of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun:sons of Jeduthun, Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, Shisshah, [are] by the side of their father Jeduthun; with a harp he is prophesying, for giving of thanks and of praise to Yahweh. ⁴ Of Heman:sons of Heman:Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth;" ⁵ all these [are] sons of Heman--seer of the king in the things of Elohim--to lift up a horn; and Elohim gives to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. ⁶ All these [are] by the side of their father in the song of the house of Yahweh, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of Elohim; by the side of the king [are] Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman. ⁷ And their number, with their brethren--taught in the song of Yahweh, all who are intelligent--is two hundred, eighty and eight. ⁸ And they cause to fall lots--charge over-against [charge], as well the small as the great, the intelligent with the learner.

³¹ And the king stands on his station, and makes the covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep His commands, and His testimonies, and His statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to do the words of the covenant that are written on this book.

⁵ There they were afraid with awe. For Elohim is with the generation of the righteous one.

¹⁰ In the welfare of the righteous the town is glad, And in the destruction of the wicked there is jubilation."

² When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, Yet when the wicked man rules, the people sigh."

¹² For, moreover, a man does not know his season; Like fish that are held in a vicious weir, And like birds that are held in a snare, So the sons of humanity themselves are trapped by a season of evil, When it falls on them suddenly."

¹ Wherefore, defenseless are you, O man! everyone who is judging, for in what you are judging another, you are condemning yourself, for you who are judging are committing the same things." ² Now we are aware that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who are committing such things.

²⁵ And it comes to pass at his finishing to make the burnt-offering, that Jehu said to the runners, and to the captains, `Go in, smite them, let none come out;' and they smite them by the mouth of the sword, and the runners and the captains cast [them] out; and they go unto the city, to the house of Baal,

⁸ and you have compassed the king round about, each with his weapons in his hand, and he who is coming unto the ranges is put to death; and be you with the king in his going out and in his coming in..

¹⁵ And Jehoiada the priest commands the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and said unto them, `Bring her out unto the outside of the ranges, and him who is going after her, put to death by the sword:' for the priest had said, `Let her not be put to death in the house of Yahweh..

⁷ And they begin among the aged men who [are] before the house, and He said unto them, `Defile the house, and fill the courts with the wounded, go forth.' And they have gone forth and have smitten in the city."

⁷ and Adoni-Bezek said, `Seventy kings--their thumbs and their great toes cut off--have been gathering under my table; as I have done so has Elohim repaid to me;' and they bring him in to Jerusalem, and he dies there.

¹⁰ And Athaliah mother of Ahaziah has seen that her son is dead, and she rises and destroys the whole seed of the kingdom of the house of Judah.

²⁸ From above the horse-gate have the priests strengthened, each over-against his house.

⁶ You shall destroy all those speaking a lie. Yahweh abhors a man of bloodshed and deceit.

²³ And You, O Elohim, You shall bring them down to the well of ruin, These mortals of bloodshed and deceit, Who shall not live half their days; As for me, I am trusting in You. {Permanent{ {Concerning the Mute Dove Afar{ "

⁴⁰ And all the valley of the carcases and of the ashes, And all the fields unto the brook Kidron, Unto the corner of the horse-gate eastward, [Are] holy to Yahweh, it is not plucked up, Nor is it thrown down any more to the eon!"

² for with what judgment you are judging, shall you be judged, and with what measure you are measuring, shall it be measured to you."

¹³ For the judging is merciless to him who does not exercise mercy. Vaunting is mercy against judging.

⁵ And I hear the messenger of the waters saying, "Just art Thou, Who art, and Who wast, Benign One, seeing that Thou judgest these, ⁶ for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou dost give them blood to drink, even what they are deserving!" ⁷ And I hear the altar saying, "Yea, Lord God Almighty, true and just are Thy judgings!"

² Yahweh our Elohim, He contracted a covenant with us at Horeb. ³ Not with our fathers did Yahweh contract this covenant, but with us, us, these here today, all of us who are alive.

¹⁷ To Yahweh have you affirmed today that He is to be your Elohim, and you are to go in His ways and to observe His statutes, His instructions and His judgments and to hearken to His voice. ¹⁸ As for Yahweh, He affirms today that you are to be for Him a special people, just as He promised to you, and that you are to observe all His instructions;" ¹⁹ then He promises to give you supremacy over all the nations which He has made, for praise, for a name and for beauty, and for you to be a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim just as He has promised.

¹ These are the words of the covenant which Yahweh instructed Moses to contract with the sons of Israel in the country of Moab, aside from the covenant that He had contracted with them at Horeb. ² Moses called to all Israel and said to them:You saw all that Yahweh did before your eyes in the country of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his country, ³ the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs and those great miracles. ⁴ Yet until this day Yahweh has not given to you a heart to realize and eyes to see and ears to hear. ⁵ When I conducted you forty years in the wilderness, your garments did not decay on you, and your sandal did not decay on your foot. ⁶ You did not eat bread, neither did you drink wine nor intoxicant, so that you might know that I, Yahweh, am your Elohim. ⁷ When you came to this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came forth to meet us for battle, and we smote them. ⁸ Then we took their country and gave it as an allotment to the Reubenite and to the Gadite and to the half tribe of Manasseh. ⁹ So you will observe the words of this covenant and obey them, so that you may proceed intelligently in all that you undertake. ¹⁰ You are stationed today, all of you, before Yahweh your Elohim--your heads, your tribal chiefs, your elders and your superintendents, every man of Israel, ¹¹ your little ones, your wives, even your sojourner who is within your camps, from the chopper of your timbers to the bailer of your waters, ¹² that you may enter into the covenant with Yahweh your Elohim and into His imprecation that Yahweh your Elohim is contracting with you today, ¹³ so that He may set you up today as His people. And He shall become your Elohim just as He promised to you and just as He had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. ¹⁴ And not with you, you alone, am I contracting this covenant and this imprecation, ¹⁵ (for it is both with him who is here with us standing today before Yahweh our Elohim and with him who is not here with us today.

²¹ And the people said unto Joshua, `No, but Yahweh we do serve.. <sup>22</sup> And Joshua said unto the people, `Witnesses you are against yourselves, that you have chosen for you Yahweh to serve Him (and they say, `Witnesses!'. <sup>23</sup> and, now, turn aside the elohims of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and incline your heart unto Yahweh, Elohim of Israel.. <sup>24</sup> And the people say unto Joshua, `Yahweh our Elohim we serve, and to His voice we hearken.. ²⁵ And Joshua makes a covenant with the people on that day, and lays on it a statute and an ordinance, in Shechem.

¹⁴ And they swear to Yahweh with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets,

¹⁰ `Now--with my heart--to make a covenant before Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, and the fierceness of His anger does turn back from us.

³¹ And the king stands on his station, and makes the covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep His commands, and His testimonies, and His statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to do the words of the covenant that are written on this book. ³² And he presents every one who is found in Jerusalem and Benjamin, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem do according to the covenant of Elohim, the Elohim of their fathers.

³ Let us now contract a covenant with our Elohim to send forth all our foreign women and the children born of them, in accordance with the counsel of Yahweh and of those who are trembling at the instruction of our Elohim; and let it be done according to the law.

¹² And they say, `We give back, and of them we seek nothing; so we do as you are saying.' And I call the priests, and cause them to swear to do according to this thing;" <sup>13</sup> also, my lap I have shaken, and I say, `Thus does Elohim shake out every man, who does not perform this thing, from his house, and from his labor; yea, thus is he shaken out and empty;' and all the assembly say, `Amen,' and praise Yahweh; and the people do according to this thing.

²⁹ are laying hold on their brethren, their honorable ones, and coming in to an execration, and in to an oath, to walk in the law of Elohim, that was given by the hand of Moses, servant of Elohim, and to observe and to do all the commands of Yahweh our Lord, and His judgments, and His statutes;" ³⁰ and that we give not our daughters to the peoples of the land, and their daughters we take not to our sons;" ³¹ and the peoples of the land who are bringing in the wares and any corn on the sabbath-day to sell, we receive not of them on the sabbath, and on a holy day, and we leave the seventh year, and usury on every hand. ³² And we have appointed for ourselves commands, to put on ourselves the third of a shekel in a year, for the service of the house of our Elohim, ³³ for bread of the arrangement, and the continual present, and the continual burnt-offering of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for appointed seasons, and for holy things, and for sin-offerings, to make atonement for Israel, even all the work of the house of our Elohim. ³⁴ And the lots we have caused to fall for the offering of wood, [among] the priests, the Levites, and the people, to bring in to the house of our Elohim, by the house of our fathers, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of Yahweh our Elohim, as it is written in the law, ³⁵ and to bring in the first fruits of our ground, and the first fruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of Yahweh, ³⁶ and the firstlings of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and our flocks, to bring in to the house of our Elohim, to the priests who are ministering in the house of our Elohim. ³⁷ And the beginning of our dough, and our heave-offerings, and the fruit of every tree, of new wine, and of oil, we bring in to the priests, unto the chambers of the house of our Elohim, and the tithe of our ground to the Levites; and they--the Levites--have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage;" ³⁸ and the priest, son of Aaron, has been with the Levites in the tithing of the Levites, and the Levites bring up the tithe of the tithe to the house of our Elohim unto the chambers, to the treasure-house;" ³⁹ for unto the chambers do they bring in--the sons of Israel and the sons of Levi--the heave-offering of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, and there [are] vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests, those ministering, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and we do not forsake the house of our Elohim.

⁵ This one will say, `I am for Yahweh,' and this one will call in the name of Jacob, and this one will write with his hand, `For Yahweh.' And in the name `Israel' is he entitled."

³ Tear down their altars and break their monuments; their Asherah poles you shall burn with fire, and the carvings of their elohim you shall hack down; thus you will destroy their name from that place.

⁵ Then that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death because he spoke of defection from Yahweh your Elohim (the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt and the One ransoming you from the house of servants) so as to induce you from the way in which Yahweh your Elohim has instructed you to walk. Hence eradicate the evil from among you. ⁶ In case your brother, the son of your father, or the son of your mother or your son or your daughter or the wife of your bosom or your associate who is as your own soul should incite you in concealment, saying:Let us go, and let us serve other elohim (whom you have not known, you or your fathers, ⁷ of the elohim of the peoples who are around you, those near to you or those far from you, from one end of the land to the other end of the land). ⁸ neither shall you comply with him, nor shall you hearken to him; neither shall your eye commiserate over him, nor shall you spare him; and you shall not cover up for him. ⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter.

⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, `Catch you the prophets of Baal; let not a man escape of them;' and they catch them, and Elijah brings them down unto the stream Kishon, and does slaughter them there.

²⁵ And it comes to pass at his finishing to make the burnt-offering, that Jehu said to the runners, and to the captains, `Go in, smite them, let none come out;' and they smite them by the mouth of the sword, and the runners and the captains cast [them] out; and they go unto the city, to the house of Baal, ²⁶ and bring out the standing-pillars of the house of Baal, and burn them, ²⁷ and break down the standing-pillar of Baal, and break down the house of Baal, and appoint it for a draught-house unto this day. ²⁸ And Jehu destroys Baal out of Israel,

¹⁸ And all the people of the land go in to the house of Baal, and break it down, its altars and its images they have thoroughly broken, and Mattan priest of Baal they have slain before the altars; and the priest sets inspectors over the house of Yahweh, ¹⁹ and takes the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Yahweh, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sits on the throne of the kings.

⁴ he has turned aside the high places, and broken in pieces the standing-pillars, and cut down the shrine, and beaten down the brazen serpent that Moses made, for unto these days were the sons of Israel making perfume to it, and he calls it `a piece of brass..

⁴ And they break down before him the altars of the Baalim, and the images that [are] on high above them he has cut down, and the shrines, and the graven images, and the molten images, he has broken and beaten small, and strews on the surface of the graves of those sacrificing to them,

⁷ And he breaks down the altars and the shrines, and the graven images he has beaten down very small, and all the images he has cut down in all the land of Israel, and turns back to Jerusalem.

¹⁸ And the forbidden idols are completely thrust away.

² And it shall come to be in that day, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), I will cut off the names of grief fetishes from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. And, moreover, I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass from the land." ³ And it shall come to be, in case a man is prophesying still, then his father and his mother, those generating him, shall say to him, You shall not live, for you speak falsehood in the name of Yahweh. And his father and his mother, those generating him, shall stab him when he prophesies."

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying. ² Instruct the sons of Israel and say to them:My approach present, My bread for My fire offerings, My fragrant odor shall you observe to bring near to Me at its appointed time. ³ You will say to them:This is the fire offering which you shall bring near to Yahweh, flawless year-old he-lambs, two per day, a regular ascent offering. ⁴ The one he-lamb shall you offer in the morning, and the second he-lamb shall you offer between the evening hours, ⁵ with a tenth of an ephah of flour as an approach present mingled with pounded oil, a fourth of a hin. ⁶ It is the regular ascent offering instituted at Mount Sinai for a fragrant odor, a fire offering, to Yahweh. ⁷ Its libation is a fourth of a hin for one he-lamb. In the holy place, libate an intoxicating libation to Yahweh. ⁸ And the second he-lamb you shall offer between the evening hours; like the approach present of the morning and like its libation shall you make it as a fire offering, a fragrant odor to Yahweh. ⁹ On the sabbath day you shall bring near two flawless year-old he-lambs, and two-tenths of an ephah of flour, an approach present mingled with oil, with its libation. ¹⁰ This is the sabbath ascent offering on its sabbath along with the regular ascent offering with its libation. ¹¹ At the beginnings of your months you shall bring near an ascent offering to Yahweh:two young bulls, calves of the herd, and one ram, seven flawless year-old he-lambs, ¹² and three-tenths of an ephah of flour as an approach present mingled with oil for each young bull; and two-tenths of an ephah of flour as an approach present mingled with oil for the one ram, ¹³ and a tenth by a tenth of an ephah of flour as an approach present mingled with oil for each he-lamb. This is an ascent offering, a fragrant odor, a fire offering, to Yahweh. ¹⁴ As for their libations, half a hin shall there be for each young bull and a third of a hin for the one ram and a fourth of a hin of wine for each he-lamb. This is the ascent offering month by its month for the months of the year. ¹⁵ Also one hairy one of the goats as a sin offering to Yahweh along with the regular ascent offering shall be made with its libation. ¹⁶ In the first month on the fourteenth day of the month is the passover to Yahweh. ¹⁷ And on the fifteenth day of this month is a celebration. For seven days unleavened cakes shall be eaten. ¹⁸ On the first day is a holy meeting when you shall do no occupational work at all. ¹⁹ You will bring near a fire offering, an ascent offering to Yahweh, two young bulls, calves of the herd, one ram and seven year-old he-lambs; flawless shall they be for you. ²⁰ And as their approach present of flour mingled with oil, three tenths per young bull and two tenths per ram shall you offer. ²¹ A tenth by a tenth shall you offer for each he-lamb of the seven lambs. ²² Also there is one hairy one of the goats as a sin offering to make a propitiatory shelter over you; ²³ aside from the ascent offering of the morning which is the regular ascent offering you shall offer these. ²⁴ Like these shall you offer daily for seven days, the bread of the fire offering for a fragrant odor to Yahweh; along with the regular ascent offering shall it be made with its libation. ²⁵ And on the seventh day you shall come to have a holy meeting when you shall do no occupational work at all. ²⁶ On the day of the firstfruits when you bring near a new approach present to Yahweh, in your feast of weeks, you shall come to have a holy meeting when you shall do no occupational work at all. ²⁷ You will bring near an ascent offering for a fragrant odor to Yahweh, two young bulls, calves of the herd, one ram, seven year-old he-lamb. ²⁸ with their approach present of flour mingled with oil, three tenths for each young bull and two tenths for the one ram. ²⁹ A tenth by a tenth for each he-lamb of the seven he-lambs, ³⁰ and one hairy one of the goats to make a propitiatory shelter over you, ³¹ aside from the regular ascent offering and its approach present you shall offer. Flawless shall they be for you, with their libations.

¹ And David is old, and satisfied with days, and causes his son Solomon to reign over Israel, ² and gathers all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;" ³ and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand. ⁴ Of these to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh [are] twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand, ⁵ and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Yahweh, `with instruments that I made for praising,' [said David.. ⁶ And David distributes them into courses:Of the sons of Levi:of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. ⁷ Of the Gershonite:Laadan and Shimei. ⁸ Sons of Laadan:the head [is] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three. ⁹ Sons of Shimei [are] Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three; these [are] heads of the fathers of Laadan. ¹⁰ And sons of Shimei [are] Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these [are] sons of Shimei, four. ¹¹ And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering. ¹² Sons of Kohath [are] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four. ¹³ Sons of Amram:Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the holy of holies, he and his sons--unto the eon, to make perfume before Yahweh, to serve Him, and to bless in His name--unto the eon. ¹⁴ As to Moses, the man of Elohim, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi. ¹⁵ Sons of Moses:Gershom and Eliezer. ¹⁶ Sons of Gershom:Shebuel the head. ¹⁷ And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly. ¹⁸ Sons of Izhar:Shelomith the head. ¹⁹ Sons of Hebron:Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth. ²⁰ Sons of Uzziel:Micah the head, and Ishshiah, the second. ²¹ Sons of Merari:Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli:Eleazar and Kish. ²² And Eleazar dies, and he had no sons, but daughters, and sons of Kish their brethren take them. ²³ Sons of Mushi:Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three. ²⁴ These [are] sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their polls, doing the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from a son of twenty years and upward,

²⁸ for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Yahweh, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of Elohim, ²⁹ and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;" ³⁰ and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Yahweh, and so at evening;" ³¹ and for all the burnt-offerings--burnt-offerings to Yahweh for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Yahweh.

¹ And David and the heads of the host separate for service, of the sons of Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun, who are prophesying with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals, and the number of the workmen is according to their service. ² Of sons of Asaph:Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, [are] by the side of Asaph, who is prophesying by the side of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun:sons of Jeduthun, Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, Shisshah, [are] by the side of their father Jeduthun; with a harp he is prophesying, for giving of thanks and of praise to Yahweh. ⁴ Of Heman:sons of Heman:Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth;" ⁵ all these [are] sons of Heman--seer of the king in the things of Elohim--to lift up a horn; and Elohim gives to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. ⁶ All these [are] by the side of their father in the song of the house of Yahweh, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of Elohim; by the side of the king [are] Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman. ⁷ And their number, with their brethren--taught in the song of Yahweh, all who are intelligent--is two hundred, eighty and eight. ⁸ And they cause to fall lots--charge over-against [charge], as well the small as the great, the intelligent with the learner. ⁹ And the first lot goes out for Asaph to Joseph; [to] Gedaliah the second; he, and his brethren and his sons, twelve;" ¹⁰ the third [to] Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹¹ the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹² the fifth [to] Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹³ the sixth [to] Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹⁴ the seventh [to] Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹⁵ the eighth [to] Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹⁶ the ninth [to] Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹⁷ the tenth [to] Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve. ¹⁸ eleventh [to] Azareel, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ¹⁹ the twelfth [to] Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁰ at the thirteenth [to] Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²¹ at the fourteenth [to] Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²² at the fifteenth [to] Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²³ at the sixteenth [to] Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁴ at the seventeenth [to] Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁵ at the eighteenth [to] Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁶ at the nineteenth [to] Mallothi, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁷ at the twentieth [to] Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁸ at the one and twentieth [to] Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ²⁹ at the two and twentieth [to] Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ³⁰ at the three and twentieth [to] Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;" ³¹ at the four and twentieth [to] Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his brethren, twelve.

⁵ and they bring up the ark, and the tent of meeting, and all the vessels of the sanctuary that [are] in the tent; brought them up have the priests, the Levites;"

²⁵ And he appoints the Levites in the house of Yahweh with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, by the command of David, and of Gad, seer of the king, and of Nathan the prophet, for by the hand of Yahweh [is] the command, by the hand of His prophets;"

²² All of those who are chosen for gatekeepers at the thresholds [are] two hundred and twelve; they [are] in their villages, by their genealogy; they whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office. ²³ And they and their sons [are] over the gates of the house of Yahweh, even of the house of the tent, by watches. ²⁴ At four sides are the gatekeepers, east, west, north, and south.

¹ For the courses of the gatekeepers:of the Korhites [is] Meshelemiah son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph;" ² and to Meshelemiah [are] sons, Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth, ³ Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh. ⁴ And to Obed-Edom [are] sons, Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth, ⁵ Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth, for Elohim has blessed him. ⁶ And to Shemaiah his son have sons been born, who are ruling throughout the house of their father, for they [are] mighty of valor. ⁷ Sons of Shemaiah [are] Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad; his brethren [are] sons of valor, Elihu and Semachiah, ⁸ all these [are] of the sons of Obed-Edom; they, and their sons, and their brethren, men of valor with might for service, [are] sixty and two of Obed-Edom. ⁹ And to Meshelemiah [are] sons and brethren, sons of valor, eighteen;" ¹⁰ and to Hosah, of the sons of Merari, [are] sons:Shimri the head (though he was not first-born, yet his father sets him for head), ¹¹ Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Hosah [are] thirteen. ¹² According to these [are] the courses of the gatekeepers; to the heads of the mighty ones [are] charges over-against their brethren, to minister in the house of Yahweh, ¹³ and they cause to fall lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for gate and gate. ¹⁴ And the lot falls eastward to Shelemiah; and [for] Zechariah his son--a counsellor with understanding--they cause to fall lots, and his lot goes out northward. ¹⁵ to Obed-Edom southward, and to his sons, the house of the gatherings;" ¹⁶ to Shuppim and to Hosah to the west, with the gate Shallecheth, in the highway, the ascent, charge over-against charge;" ¹⁷ to the east the Levites [are] six; to the north daily four, to the south daily four, and to the gatherings two by two, ¹⁸ at Parbar, to the west, [are] four at the highway, two at Parbar. ¹⁹ These are the courses of the gatekeepers, of the sons of the Korhite, and of the sons of Merari. ²⁰ And of the Levites, Ahijah [is] over the treasures of the house of Elohim, even for the treasures of the holy things. ²¹ Sons of Laadan:sons of the Gershonite, of Laadan, heads of the fathers of Laadan the Gershonite:Jehieli. ²² Sons of Jehieli:Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the house of Yahweh, ²³ for the Amramite, for the Izharite, for the Hebronite, for the Uzzielite. ²⁴ And Shebuel son of Gershom, son of Moses, [is] president over the treasures. ²⁵ And his brethren, of Eliezer, [are] Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son. ²⁶ This Shelomith and his brethren [are] over all the treasures of the holy things, that David the king, and heads of the fathers, even heads of thousands, and of hundreds, and heads of the host, sanctified;" ²⁷ from the battles, even from the spoil they sanctified to strengthen the house of Yahweh;" ²⁸ and all that Samuel the seer, and Saul son of Kish, and Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah sanctified, every one sanctifying [any thing--it is] by the side of Shelomith and his brethren. ²⁹ Of the Izharite, Chenaniah and his sons [are] for the outward work over Israel, for officers and for judges. ³⁰ Of the Hebronite, Hashabiah and his brethren, sons of valor, a thousand and seven hundred, [are] over the inspection of Israel, beyond the Jordan westward, for all the work of Yahweh, and for the service of the king. ³¹ Of the Hebronite, Jerijah [is] the head, of the Hebronite, according to his generations, for the fathers--in the fortieth year of the reign of David they have been sought out, and there are found among them mighty ones of valor, in Jazer of Gilead-. ³² and his brethren, sons of valor, two thousand and seven hundred, [are] heads of the fathers, and king David appoints them over the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, for every matter of Elohim and matter of the king.

⁹ And the heads of the hundreds do according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, and come in unto Jehoiada the priest, ¹⁰ and the priest gives to the heads of the hundreds the spears and the shields that king David had, that [are] in the house of Yahweh.

¹⁹ and takes the heads of the hundreds, and the executioners, and the runners, and all the people of the land, and they bring down the king from the house of Yahweh, and come by the way of the gate of the runners, to the house of the king, and he sits on the throne of the kings.

³⁵ Only, the high places have not turned aside--yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places; he has built the high gate of the house of Yahweh.

²⁰ And all the people of the land rejoice, and the city [is] quiet, and Athaliah they have put to death by the sword in the house of the king;"

¹⁰ The righteous one shall rejoice when he perceives the vengeance; He shall bathe his footsteps in the blood of the wicked one. ¹¹ Then mankind shall say, Yea, there is fruit for the righteous; Yea, there is an Elohim Who is judging in the earth! {Permanent{ {O Do Not Bring Ruin!{ "

²⁰ Make merry over her, O heaven, and ye saints and apostles and prophets, seeing that God judges by passing your sentence upon her."

¹ After these things I hear as it were the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power is of our God, ² for true and just is His judging, for He judges the great prostitute who corrupts the earth with her prostitution, and avenges the blood of His slaves at her hand." ³ And a second time have they declared, "Hallelujah!And her smoke is ascending for the eons of the eons." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four animals fall and worship God, Who is sitting on the throne, saying, "Amen! Hallelujah!"
