¹¹ This is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which one may bring near to Yahweh. ¹² If he should bring it near for an acclamation then along with the acclamation sacrifice he will bring near unleavened perforated cakes mingled with oil and unleavened wafers anointed with oil and fried perforated cakes of flour mingled with oil. ¹³ With perforated cakes of leavened bread shall he bring near his approach present, along with the acclamation sacrifice of his peace offerings. ¹⁴ And from it he will bring near one of each kind of approach present as a heave offering to Yahweh for the priest who is sprinkling the blood of the peace offerings; his shall it become. ¹⁵ As for the flesh of the acclamation sacrifice of his peace offerings, on the day of his approach present shall it be eaten. None of it shall he leave until morning. ¹⁶ If his approach present is a vow or a voluntary sacrifice, it shall be eaten on the day of his approach with his sacrifice, and on the morrow the rest of it may be eaten. ¹⁷ Yet the rest of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burned with fire. ¹⁸ If any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings should be eaten, yea eaten, on the third day, the one bringing it near shall not be accepted; it shall not be reckoned to him. Vile shall it become, and the soul eating any of it shall bear his depravity.

³⁶ Thus Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yahweh had instructed by means of Moses.

He shall neither neglect you nor bring ruin on you, nor shall He forget the covenant of your fathers about which He had sworn to them.

⁴⁰ Hence you will observe His statutes and His instructions which I am enjoining on you today, that it may be well with you and your sons after you, and that you may prolong your days on the ground that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, all the days.

²¹ Neither shall you plant for yourself an Asherah pole, any kind of wood, beside the altar of Yahweh your Elohim which you may make for yourself,

³ and he goes and serves other elohim and bows himself down to them or to the sun or to the moon or to any of the host of the heavens, something that I have instructed not to do,

⁹ When you come to the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, you shall not learn to act according to the abhorrences of those nations. ¹⁰ There shall not be found among you one causing his son or his daughter to pass through fire, or one divining divinations, or consulting clouds, auguring or enchantin. ¹¹ or charming with charms, one asking of a medium or wizard or inquiring after the dead. ¹² For anyone doing these things is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim, and owing to these abhorrences Yahweh your Elohim is evicting them from your presence. ¹³ Flawless shall you come to be with Yahweh your Elohim. ¹⁴ For these nations in whose place you are tenanting, they hearken to cloud consulters and diviners. As for you, Yahweh your Elohim does not allow you to do so.

You shall not prolong your days on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to enter to tenant it. ¹⁹ Today I call the heavens and the earth to testify against you:Life and death I have put before you, the blessing and the malediction. Now choose life that you may live, you and your seed, ²⁰ by loving Yahweh your Elohim, hearkening to His voice and clinging to Him (for that means life to you and prolonging of your days) so that you may dwell on the ground about which Yahweh had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, to give to them.

¹⁶ Yahweh is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked are trapped by the deed of His palms. {Chant, Interlude{ "

³ When I kept silent toward You, my bones became worn out With my roaring the entire day." ⁴ For by day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me; My freshness was turned into the droughts of summer. {Interlude{ " ⁵ I am now acknowledging my sin to You, And I do not cover over my depravity. I said, I shall confess against myself my transgressions to Yahweh, And You, You lift away the depravity of my sin. {Interlude{ "

¹⁰ Relax and know that I am Elohim; I shall be exalted among the nations; I shall be exalted in the earth.

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall liberate you, and you shall glorify Me."

²³ And You, O Elohim, You shall bring them down to the well of ruin, These mortals of bloodshed and deceit, Who shall not live half their days; As for me, I am trusting in You. {Permanent{ {Concerning the Mute Dove Afar{ "

⁶⁸ Yet He chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loves;"

⁵ For You, O Yahweh, are good and pardoning, And with much benignity to all calling on You."

³⁵ They mixed with the nations, And they learned their customs." ³⁶ They served their fetishes, And these came to be a trap for them." ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed." ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions." ⁴⁰ So the anger of Yahweh grew hot against His people, And He abhorred His allotment."

¹⁰ Those dwelling in darkness and the shadow of death, The bound ones in humiliation and iron, ¹¹ Because they had rebelled against the sayings of El, And had spurned the counsel of the Supreme, ¹² He brought their heart into submission with toil; They stumbled, and there was no one to help." ¹³ Then they cried out to Yahweh in their distress:He saved them from their constraints; ¹⁴ He brought them forth from darkness and the shadow of death, And He pulled away their bonds."

⁶⁷ Before I was humbled, I was erring, But now I keep Your promise close."

⁷¹ It is good for me that I was humbled, That I may learn Your statutes."

⁷⁵ I know, O Yahweh, that Your ordinances are righteous, And You have humbled me in faithfulness."

¹³ For Yahweh has chosen Zion; He yearns for it as His dwelling place: ¹⁴ This is My resting place unto the future; Here shall I dwell, for I yearn for it."

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet the prayer of the upright is acceptable to Him."

⁷ When a man's ways please Yahweh He makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

¹ Like rillets of water is the king's heart in the hand of Yahweh; Wherever He inclines, He turns it aside."

¹² If a ruler attends to the word of falsehood, All his ministers will be wicked."

¹⁹ Who knows if he shall be a wise or a frivolous man? Yet he shall have authority over all the fruit of my toil that I toiled, And in which I was wise under the sun; This too is vanity."

¹⁸ Wisdom is better than implements of attack, Yet one sinner destroys much good."

¹⁶ Woe to you, O country, whose king is a youth, And whose chiefs eat feasts in the morning."

¹⁹ If you are willing and hearken, the good of the land shall you eat." ²⁰ Yet if you are refusing and rebel, by the sword shall you be devoured. For the mouth of Yahweh speaks."

¹⁷ And prostrate is the haughtiness of humanity, and abased is the highness of mortals, and Yahweh alone is impregnable in that day." ¹⁸ And the forbidden idols are completely thrust away. ¹⁹ And they come into caves of the rocks, and into tunnels of the soil, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth." ²⁰ In that day humanity shall fling its forbidden idols of silver, and its forbidden idols of gold, which they make for it to worship, to the mole rats, and to the bats, ²¹ to come into the fissures of the rocks, and into the forks of the crags, from the face of awe-inspiring Yahweh, and from the honor of His pomp, when He rises to terrify the earth."

⁴ And I give them youths for their chiefs, and the unweaned will rule among them."

¹² My people--its exactors are clean-gleaners, and the exactors rule among My people. Those making you happy lead you astray, and the way of your paths they confuse."

²⁶ And He lifts up a banner for nations from afar, and He hisses for one from the outmost part of the earth, and, behold! Hastily, fleetly is it coming." ²⁷ None is faint and none is stumbling in it. None is slumbering nor sleeping, nor is opened the belt of his loins, nor is pulled away the lacing of his sandals;" ²⁸ whose arrows are whetted, and all their bows are bent. The hoofs of his horses as rock are reckoned, and his chariot wheels as a sweeping whirlwind." ²⁹ Its roaring is like the parent lion's; and the tumult like the sheltered lions, and he is growling and holding the prey, and there is no retrieving or rescuing." ³⁰ And he is growling over him in that day as the growling of the billowing sea. And behold! Darkness, distress, and the light is kept back in terror."

¹⁸ And it comes in that day, Yahweh shall hiss for the gadfly which is at the end of the waterways of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the land of Assyria." ¹⁹ And they come and stop, all of them, in the offshoot watercourses, and in rifts in the crags, and in the caves, and in all the clefts, and in all the thorn trees, and at all the streams are their lodges." ²⁰ In that day Yahweh will shave with a hired razor, with those across the stream, with the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet, and even the beard will it sweep off."

¹⁹ And in case they shall say to you, "Inquire of the mediums, and of the ventriloquists, and of the wizards, the chirpers and the cooers,Should not a people of its Elohim inquire? Who inquires about the living of the dead?

⁸ For saying is he, "Are not my chiefs altogether kings?

³ And void is the spirit of Egypt within it, and I will swallow up its counsel. And they inquire of the forbidden idols, and of the ventriloquists, and of the mediums and of the wizards."

¹⁰ For Yahweh has libated on you a spirit of stupor. And He is restraining your eyes, that is, the prophets, and your heads, the vision seers, He covers."

¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles."

⁹ Then how will you reverse the face of one viceroy of my lord's small servants? Yet you yourself are trusting on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen.

¹³ The carpenter choosing wood, stretches out a tape. He is drawing the carving with red ochre. He is making it with gouges, and with a circle former is drawing it. And he is making it as a model of a man, as the beauty of a human, to dwell in a house." ¹⁴ He cuts down for himself cedars, and is taking juniper and oak, and the tough is his among the wildwood trees, planted by the Lord, and the downpour is making it grow." ¹⁵ And it comes to be for a human to consume. And he is taking of them for warmth. Indeed, he is igniting it and bakes bread. Indeed, he is contriving an el, and is worshiping it. He makes it a carving and is falling on his knees and face to it." ¹⁶ Half of it he burned up in the fire. And on this half of it he is eating flesh. He is roasting a roast and is satisfied. And by its embers he sits. Indeed, he is warming himself, and is saying, `Aha! I am warm! I see light!'" <sup>17</sup> And the remnant of it he makes into an el. To a decaying tree, to it is he falling on his knees and face. And he is worshiping, and praying to it, and saying, `Rescue me, for my el are you!'" ¹⁸ They do not know, nor are they understanding, for He plasters their eyes, from seeing, and their hearts, from intelligence." ¹⁹ And he is not recalling to his heart, and no knowledge is there, nor understanding to say, "Half of it I burned up in the fire, and, indeed, I baked on its embers bread, roasting flesh and eating. And the rest of it I am making into an abhorrence. To a decaying tree am I falling on my knees and face!" ²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

⁹ Yet now these two shall come to you in a moment; in one day, bereavement and widowhood, suddenly they shall come on you in your many enchantments, in the staunchness of your magic charms, exceedingly." ¹⁰ And you are trusting in your knowledge. You are saying, `No one is seeing me.' Your wisdom and your knowledge, it turns you back. And you are saying in your heart, `I, and only I, further!'" ¹¹ And evil comes on you. And you are not knowing of the pitfall. And woe shall fall on you. You cannot shelter yourself from it. And coming on you is devastation, and you cannot become clear. And coming on you suddenly is futility, when you shall not know it." ¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!"

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins." ⁸ For not as My devices are your devices, and not as your ways are My ways,averring is Yahweh." ⁹ For as the heavens are loftier than the earth, so are My ways loftier than your ways, and my devices than your devices."

²⁶ And they have not hearkened unto Me, Nor inclined their ear, and harden their neck, They have done evil above their fathers."

³⁰ For the sons of Judah Have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, An affirmation of Yahweh, They have set their abominations in the house On which My name is called--to defile it, ³¹ And have built the high places of Tophet, That [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, Which I did not command, Nor did it come up on My heart." ³² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And it is not said any more, `The Tophet,' And `Valley of the son of Hinnom,' But `Valley of the slaughter,' And they have buried in Tophet--without place."

² And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground."

¹² They were ashamed when they did abomination! Yea, they are not at all ashamed, And blushing they have not known, Therefore, they do fall among falling ones, In the time of their inspection they stumble, said Yahweh."

⁴ And I have given them for a trembling To all kingdoms of the earth, Because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, For that which he did in Jerusalem."

² As their sons remember their altars and their shrines, By the green tree, by the high hills."

¹³ and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, have been--as the place of Tophet--defiled, even all the houses on whose roofs they have made perfume to all the host of the heavens, so as to pour out oblations to other elohims.'"

⁷ And have given to them a heart to know Me, For I [am] Yahweh, And they have been to Me for a people, And I am to them for Elohim, For they turned back unto Me with all their heart."

⁴ And Yahweh has sent unto you all His servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying:" ⁵ `Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers from eon unto eon, ⁶ And you do not go after other elohims to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;" ⁷ And you have not hearkened unto Me--an affirmation of Yahweh--so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

¹² `And you have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you, ¹³ And you have sought Me, and have found, for you seek Me with all your heart;"

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, `You have chastised me, And I am chastised, as a heifer not taught, Turn me back, and I turn back, For you [are] Yahweh my Elohim." ¹⁹ For after my turning back I repented, And after my being instructed I struck on the thigh, I have been ashamed, I have also blushed, For I have borne the reproach of my youth." ²⁰ A precious son is Ephraim to Me? A child of delights? For since My speaking against him, I do thoroughly remember him still, Therefore have My bowels been moved for him, I do greatly love him, An affirmation of Yahweh."

³⁴ `And they set their abominations in the house over which My name is called, so as to defile it;" ³⁵ And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin."

⁴ `And I send unto you all my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, saying:I pray you, do not this abomination that I have hated--" ⁵ and they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, to turn back from their wickedness, not to make perfume to other elohims,

¹⁰ They have not been humbled unto this day, nor have they been afraid, nor have they walked in My law, and in My statutes, that I have set before you and before your fathers."

⁷ He dikes me about so that I cannot go forth; He makes my copper fetters heavy;

⁷ And He brings me in unto an opening of the court, and I look, and lo, a hole in the wall;" ⁸ and He said unto me, `Son of man, dig, I pray you, through the wall;' and I dig through the wall, and lo, an opening." <sup>9</sup> And He said to me, `Go in, and see the evil abominations that they are doing here.'" ¹⁰ And I go in, and look, and lo, every form of creeping thing, and detestable beast--and all the Idols of the house of Israel--graved on the wall, all round about, ¹¹ and seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel--and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan standing in their midst--are standing before them, and each his censer in his hand, and the abundance of the cloud of perfume is going up." ¹² And He said unto me, `Have you seen, son of man, that which elders of the house of Israel are doing in darkness, each in the inner chambers of his imagery, for they are saying, Yahweh is not seeing us, Yahweh has forsaken the land?'" <sup>13</sup> And He said unto me, `Again you do turn, you do see great abominations that they are doing.'" ¹⁴ And He brings me in unto the opening of the gate of the house of Yahweh that [is] at the north, and lo, there the women are sitting weeping for Tammuz." ¹⁵ And He said unto me, `Have you seen, son of man? again you do turn, you do see greater abominations than these.'" <sup>16</sup> And He brings me in unto the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and lo, at the opening of the temple of Yahweh, between the porch and the altar, about twenty-five men, their backs toward the temple of Yahweh, and their faces eastward, and they are bowing themselves eastward to the sun." <sup>17</sup> And He said unto me, `Have you seen, son of man? has it been a light thing to the house of Judah to do the abomination that they have done here, that they have filled the land with violence, and turn back to provoke Me to anger? and lo, they are putting forth the branch unto their nose!" ¹⁸ And I also deal in fury, Mine eye does not pity, nor do I spare, and they have cried in Mine ears--a loud voice--and I do not hear them.'"

¹² And you have known that I [am] Yahweh, For in My statutes you have not walked, And My Judgments you have not done, And according to the judgments of the nations Who are round about you--you have done!'"

⁴⁵ Your mother's daughter you [are], Loathing her husband and her sons, And your sisters' sister you [are], Who loathed their husbands and their sons, Your mother [is] a Hittite, and your father an Amorite." ⁴⁶ And your elder sister [is] Samaria, she and her daughters, Who is dwelling at your left hand, And your younger sister, who is dwelling on your right hand, [is] Sodom and her daughters." ⁴⁷ And--in their ways you have not walked, And according to their abominations done, As a little thing it has been loathed, And you do more corruptly than they in all your ways."

²⁰ The soul that does sin--it does die. A son does not bear of the iniquity of the father, And a father does not bear of the iniquity of the son, The righteousness of the righteous is on him, And the wickedness of the wicked is on him." ²¹ And the wicked--when he turns back From all his sins that he has done, And he has kept all My statutes, And has done judgment and righteousness, He does surely live, he does not die." ²² All his transgressions that he has done Are not remembered to him, In his righteousness that he has done he lives."

¹⁸ And I say to their sons in the wilderness:In the statutes of your fathers you walk not, And their judgments you do not observe, And with their idols you are not defiled."

³⁷ For they have committed adultery, And blood [is] in their hands, With their idols they committed adultery, And also their sons whom they bore to Me, They caused to pass over to them for food."

³⁹ And in their slaughtering their sons to their idols They also come in unto My sanctuary in that day to pollute it, And lo, thus they have done in the midst of My house,

²⁵ Therefore say unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:With the blood you do eat, And your eyes you lift up unto your idols, And blood you shed, and the land you inherit!" ²⁶ You have stood on your sword, You have done abomination, Each the wife of his neighbor you have defiled, And the land you possess!"

²⁵ for they shall shove you from mortals, and with the animals of the field is to be your abode, and herbage will they feed to you, as oxen, and with the night mist of the heavens will you be streaked; thus seven seasons shall pass on over you till you shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and that to whom He is willing He is giving it."

³⁴ And at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to the heavens, and my knowledge is returning to me. Then I blessed the Supreme, and I lauded and honored Him Who is living for the eon, seeing that His jurisdiction is an eonian jurisdiction, and His kingdom is with generation after generation." ³⁵ All abiding on the earth are reckoned as naught:According to His will is He doing in the army of the heavens and with those abiding on the earth. And no one will actually clap with his hands and say to Him, "What doest Thou?

²² Yet you, his grandson Belshazzar, you abase not your heart in Eloah's sight, forasmuch as all this you know."

¹⁵ For I will go and return to My place till they are pleading guilty, and they seek My face. In their distress they will seek Me early, saying:"

¹ Return, O Israel, unto Yahweh, your Elohim, for you stumble in your depravity." ² Take words with you and return to Yahweh, your Elohim; say to Him:Wilt You bear away all the depravity? Take the good, and we will repay with the fruit of our lips." ³ Assyria will not save us; we will not ride on the horse. Nor shall we still say, Our elohim, to the work of our hands. For in You, the orphan is being shown compassion."

¹² And Amaziah is saying to Amos, Vision-seer, go! Run your way to the land of Judah, and there eat your bread, and there you shall prophesy."

⁷ And the vision seers shall be ashamed, and the diviners shall be abashed, and all of them shall muffle over the upper lip, for there is no answer from Elohim."

⁹ The voice of Yahweh is calling to the city, and real wisdom will fear His name. Hear the rod and who appointed it."

¹⁶ They are keeping the statutes of Omri, and every deed of the house of Ahab; and you are going in their counsels, that I may give you up to desolation, and its dwellers to hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of My people."

⁵ and those worshiping on the house tops to the host of the heavens, and those worshiping--swearing to Yahweh and swearing by their king,

¹⁰ There comes in that day, (averring is Yahweh), a sound of a cry from the fish gate, and a howling from the second quarter, and a great breaking from the hills:"

⁴ You must not become as your forefathers, to whom the former prophets called saying, Thus says Yahweh of hosts:Return, I pray, from your evil ways, and from your evil actions. Yet they hearkened not, and they attended not to Me, (averring is Yahweh)."

¹⁰ now Hezekiah begets Manasseh; now Manasseh begets Amos; now Amos begets Josiah;

⁸ Produce, then, fruit worthy of repentance.

³³ Yet seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, and these all shall be added to you."

⁷ Request and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you." ⁸ For everyone who is requesting is obtaining, and who is seeking is finding, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened."

⁶ Now they were both just in front of God, going in all the precepts and just statutes of the Lord, blameless."

¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'" ²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'"

¹⁶ And he yearned to be satisfied with the little carob pods which the hogs ate, and no one gave to him." ¹⁷ Now, coming to himself, he averred, 'How many of my father's hired men are being cloyed with bread, yet I am perishing here of famine!" ¹⁸ Rising, I will go to my father and declare to him, "Father, I sinned against heaven and in your sight."

¹⁴ I am saying to you, this man descended to his home justified, rather than that one, for everyone who is exalting himself shall be humbled, yet he who is humbling himself shall be exalted." ¹⁵ Now they brought the babes also to Him, that He may be touching them. Now, perceiving it, the disciples rebuked them."

³² Yet I besought concerning you, that your faith may not be defaulting. And once you turn back, establish your brethren."

⁴² And he said to Jesus, "Be reminded of me, Lord, whenever Thou mayest be coming in Thy kingdom." ⁴³ And Jesus said to him, "Verily, to you am I saying today, with Me shall you be in paradise."

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you were aware of the gratuity of God, and Who it is Who is saying to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would request Him, and He would give you living water."

³ Now it is eonian life that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Him Whom Thou dost commission, Jesus Christ."

⁴² Now God turns and gives them up to be offering divine service to the host of heaven, according as it is written in the scroll of the prophets: Do you not offer Me slain victims and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, house of Israel?

⁵¹ Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in your hearts and ears, you are ever clashing with the holy spirit! As your fathers, you also!" ⁵² Which of the prophets do not your fathers persecute? And they kill those who announce before concerning the coming of the Just One, of Whom now you became the traitors and murderers -"

¹¹ Now the Lord to him, "Rise! Go to the street called 'Straight,' and seek in the house of Judas for a Tarsian named Saul, for lo! he is praying."

¹⁶ And not as through one act of sinning is the gratuity. For, indeed, the judgment is out of one into condemnation, yet the grace is out of many offenses into a just award."

²² Perceive, then, the kindness and severity of God! On those, indeed, who are falling, severity, yet on you, God's kindness, if you should be persisting in the kindness: else you also will be hewn out."

¹⁰ For whoever are of works of law are under a curse, for it written that, Accursed is everyone who is not remaining in all things written in the scroll of the law to do them." ¹¹ Now that in law no one is being justified with God is evident, for the just one by faith shall be living." ¹² Now the law is not of faith, but who does them "shall be living in them." ¹³ Christ reclaims us from the curse of the law, becoming a curse for our sakes, for it is written, Accursed is everyone hanging on a pole,

²⁰ idolatry, enchantment, enmities, strife, jealousies, furies, factions, dissensions, sects,

¹³ Yet wicked men and swindlers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

¹¹ And by no means should each be teaching his fellow citizen, And each his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord!' For all shall be acquainted with Me, From their little to their great,

¹⁰ Be humbled, then, in the Lord's sight, and He shall be exalting you."

¹³ Come now, you who are saying, "Today or tomorrow we will be going into this or that city and should be spending a year there, and we will be trafficking and getting gain-" ¹⁴ who are not versed in that which is the morrow's, for what is your life? For a vapor are you, which is appearing briefly and thereupon disappearing-" ¹⁵ instead of your saying, "If the Lord should ever be willing, and we shall be living, we also shall be doing this or that."

⁵ Likewise, younger men may be subject to the elder, yet all wear the servile apron of humility with one another, for God "is resisting the proud, yet is giving grace to the humble." ⁶ Be humbled, then, under the mighty hand of God, that He should be exalting you in season,

⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice."
