¹ King Xerxes imposed tribute on the mainland and the islands of the sea. ² All the achievements of his might and his masterful deeds, and the exact statement of Mordecai's greatness whom the king had magnified, are they not written in the scroll of records of the days of the kings of Media and Persia? ³ For Mordecai the Jew was second to king Xerxes and towering among the Jews and held dear by many of his brothers; he sought after the good for his people and spoke up for the welfare of all his seed.

⁵ From these are parted the coastlanders of the nations among their lands, each man to his tongue, to their families, in their nations.

¹ It was in the days of Xerxes--that Xerxes who was reigning over 127 provinces from India unto Nubia.

⁹ So the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, that is, the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day of it. All was written, just as Mordecai instructed them, to the Jews and to the satraps, the viceroys and chief officials of all the provinces, 127 provinces from India unto Nubia, to each province in its provincial writing, and to each people in its popular tongue, and to the Jews in their writing and in their tongue.

¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands shall render a tributary present; The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer levy.

¹¹ And it comes, in that day, Yahweh will proceed to lift up His hand, to be zealous for the remnant of His people which will remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Babylon, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from Arabia, and from the coastlands of the sea."

¹⁵ Therefore in the coastlands shall they glorify Yahweh. In the coastlands of the sea the name of Yahweh, the Elohim of Israel, is glorious."

¹⁸ Then he will turn back his face to the coastline and seize many places. Thus a captain eradicates his reproach for him, avoiding that his reproach shall turn back to him."

¹ Now it occurred in those days, that a decree came out from Caesar Augustus that the entire inhabited earth register."

⁴¹ And the rest of the matters of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written on the book of the matters of Solomon?

¹⁹ And the rest of the matters of Jeroboam, how he fought, and how he reigned, lo, they are written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

³⁹ And the rest of the matters of Ahab, and all that he did, and the house of ivory that he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²³ When the plot was sought out and was found to be true, then the two of them were hanged on the gallows, and it was written on the scroll of records of the days before the king.

¹ During that night, sleep flit away from the king, and he said to bring the memorial scroll of records of the days; and they were read before the king.

¹⁵ As for Mordecai, he went forth from before the king in royal garment of blue and pale, wearing a magnified coronet of gold and a cloak of fine linen and purple wool. And Susa city was noisy with rejoicing.

⁴ For Mordecai's influence was great in the king's house, and his fame was spreading in all the provinces as the influence of the man Mordecai became towering.

³⁵ You gave to me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand, it braced me, And Your help made me great."

⁴⁸ Then the king made much of Daniel:he grants to him immense, huge gifts; and gives him authority over all the province of Babylon; and makes him grandee of the prefects who are over all the wise men of Babylon."

⁴⁰ You shall be over my household, and at your bidding all my people shall bear weapons. But on the throne will I be greater than you.

⁴³ and is having him ride in the second chariot which he has. And calling are they before him, "Kneel!"And he gives him to be over all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁴ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, and apart from you shall no man raise his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.

¹⁷ and said unto him, `Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father does not find you, and you do reign over Israel, and I am to you for second, and also so knows Saul my father..

¹⁰ and Sanballat the Horonite hears, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and it is evil to them--a great evil--that a man has come in to seek good for the sons of Israel.

² All the king's courtiers in the king's gateway were bowing down and prostrating themselves before Haman; for so were the instructions the king had given concerning him. As for Mordecai, he did neither bow down nor prostrate himself.

⁶ Ask for Jerusalem's well-being; May those loving you be at ease. ⁷ May peace be within your estate, Ease within your citadels." ⁸ For the sake of my brothers and my associates, Let me say again, Peace be within you." ⁹ For the sake of the House of Yahweh our Elohim, Let me seek your good."

¹⁶ Yet I hear concerning you that you can interpret interpretations and untie knots. Now, if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, in purple shall you be clothed, with a circlet of gold about your neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall you have authority."

²⁹ Then, at Belshazzar's order, they clothe Daniel in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and they proclaim concerning him that he is the third authority in the kingdom."

² 2 That my sorrow is great, and unintermittent pain is in my heart -" ³ for I myself wished to be anathema from Christ - for my brethren, my relatives according to the flesh,

¹ Indeed, brethren, the delight of my heart and my petition to God for their sake is for salvation."

¹⁸ For he who in this is slaving for Christ, is well pleasing to God and attested by men."
