Isaiah 65:3 Cross References - CLV

³ the people who are vexing Me to My face continually, they who are sacrificing in gardens, and fuming incense on bricks to demons,

²⁴ An altar of ground soil shall you make for Me, and you will sacrifice on it your ascent offerings and your peace offerings, your flock and your herd. In every place where I shall record My name I shall come to you and will bless you. ²⁵ And if you shall make an altar of stones for Me you shall not build it with them trimmed; in case you have swung your sword against it, then you have profaned it.

¹ You will make the altar for fuming incense; of acacia boards shall you make it. ² A cubit shall be its length and a cubit its width. Square it shall be, and two cubits its rise. Its horns are one piece with it. ³ You will overlay it with pure gold, its top around its sidewalls and its horns; and you will make for it a flange of gold round about. ⁴ Two rings of gold shall you make for it. Beneath its flange, on its two angle walls shall you make them, on its two sides. And they shall be for housings for the poles, to carry it with them. ⁵ You will make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold; ⁶ and you will put it before the curtain which shall be by the coffer of the testimony, before the propitiatory shelter which shall be on the testimony where I shall keep appointment with you. ⁷ Aaron will cause incense of spices to fume on it morning by morning; when making good the lamps shall he cause it to fume; ⁸ and when Aaron sets up the lamps between the evening hours, he shall cause it to fume as incense regularly before Yahweh throughout your generations. ⁹ You shall not set up on it an alien incense or an ascent offering or an approach present, and a libation you shall not libate on it. ¹⁰ Aaron will make a propitiatory shelter on its horns once in the year with the blood of the sin offering of the propitiatory shelter; once in the year shall he make a propitiatory shelter on it throughout your generations. It shall be a holy of holies to Yahweh.

⁵ This is in order that the sons of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they have been sacrificing on the surface of the field--that they bring them before Yahweh, to the priest at the opening of the tent of appointment, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to Yahweh.

¹⁶ They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation. ¹⁷ They sacrificed to demons, not Eloah, to elohim--they had not known them before--to new ones that came from nearby; your fathers were not horrified by them. ¹⁸ The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you. ¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters.

²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation.

¹⁴ and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Yahweh their Elohim, ¹⁵ and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are round about them, of whom Yahweh commanded them not to do like them;" ¹⁶ And they forsake all the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and make to them a molten image--two calves, and make a shrine, and bow themselves to all the host of the heavens, and serve Baal, ¹⁷ and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke Him;"

¹⁷ because that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other elohims, so as to provoke Me to anger with every work of their hands, and My wrath has been kindled against this place, and it is not quenched.

¹¹ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch all that is his. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face.

⁵ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch his bone and his flesh. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face.

⁴⁰ How often they defied Him in the wilderness; They grieved Him in the desolation.

⁵⁸ They provoked Him to vexation with their high-places, And they made Him jealous with their carvings."

²⁹ For they are ashamed because of the oaks which you covet, and they are abashed because of the gardens which you choose."

⁸ For faltered has Jerusalem, and Judah falls, for their tongue is offensive, and their actions against Yahweh are defiant, therefore, now, humbled is their glory."

¹⁷ The self-sanctified and the self-cleansed to the gardens follow one by one in the portals, eating the flesh of swine, and the roamer and the mouse. They shall be swept up together,averring is Yahweh."

⁶ And Yahweh said unto me, in the days of Josiah the king, `Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She is going on every high mountain, and unto the place of every green tree, and commits fornication there."

³⁰ For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been only doing evil in Mine eyes, from their youth; for the sons of Israel are only provoking Me with the work of their hands--an affirmation of Yahweh." ³¹ `For a cause of Mine anger, and a cause of My fury, has this city been to Me, even from the day that they built it, and unto this day--to turn it aside from before My face, <sup>32</sup> Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me--they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem." <sup>33</sup> And they turn unto Me the neck, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not hearkening to accept instruction." <sup>34</sup> `And they set their abominations in the house over which My name is called, so as to defile it;" ³⁵ And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin."

¹⁷ And He said unto me, `Have you seen, son of man? has it been a light thing to the house of Judah to do the abomination that they have done here, that they have filled the land with violence, and turn back to provoke Me to anger? and lo, they are putting forth the branch unto their nose!" ¹⁸ And I also deal in fury, Mine eye does not pity, nor do I spare, and they have cried in Mine ears--a loud voice--and I do not hear them.'"

²⁸ And I bring them in unto the land, That I did lift up My hand to give to them, And they see every high hill, and every thick tree, And they sacrifice there their sacrifices, And give there the provocation of their offering, And make there their sweet fragrance, And they pour out there their libations."

³² And you! Fill full the measure of your father! ³³ Serpents! Progeny of vipers! How may you be fleeing from the judging of Gehenna? ³⁴ Therefore, lo! I am dispatching to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Of them, some you will be killing and crucifying, and of them, some you will be scourging in your synagogues and persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that on you should be coming all the just blood shed on the earth, from the blood of just Abel until the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murder between the temple and the altar." ³⁶ Verily, I am saying to you: All these things will be arriving on this generation."
