¹ The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:" ² To know wisdom and discipline, To comprehend sayings of understanding, ³ To procure the discipline to act intelligently In justice and judgment and equities, ⁴ To give to the simple, prudence, To youth, knowledge and foresight--" ⁵ The wise one may also hear and add to his education, And the man of understanding may acquire skills--" ⁶ To understand proverb and puzzle, The words of the wise and their enigmas." ⁷ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; The foolish despise wisdom and discipline. ⁸ Hear, my son, the admonition of your father, And do not abandon the law of your mother." ⁹ For they are a wreath of grace for your head, And necklaces for your throat." ¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, do not comply with them;" ¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot, ¹⁴ Let your lot be cast in our midst, There shall be one purse for us all, ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them; Withhold your foot from their track." ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood." ¹⁷ For gratuitously is the net tossed Before the eyes of all the possessors of wings. ¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls. ¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors. ²⁰ Wisdom is jubilating in the street; In the squares she is giving forth her voice. ²¹ At the top of the walls she is calling; At the portals of the gates in the city she is speaking her words: ²² How long, O simple ones, shall you love simplicity, And mockers covet their mocking, And the stupid hate knowledge? ²³ May you turn back at my correction; Behold, let me utter what is in my spirit to you; Let me make known my words to you." ²⁴ Because I called, and you refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one attended, ²⁵ And you renounced all my counsel, And you would not heed my reproof, ²⁶ Indeed, I myself shall ridicule you in your calamity; I shall deride when alarm comes upon you, ²⁷ When alarm comes upon you like a tumult, And calamity, it arrives upon you like a sweeping whirlwind, When distress and constraint come upon you." ²⁸ Then they shall call me, yet I shall not answer; They shall seek me early, yet shall not find me." ²⁹ Because they hated knowledge And would not choose the fear of Yahweh, ³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction, ³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels." ³² For the instability of the simple, it shall kill them, And the carelessness of the stupid, it shall destroy them." ³³ Yet whoever is hearkening to me shall tabernacle in trust, And he will be tranquil, away from alarm of peril."

²⁴ And David comforts Bath-Sheba his wife, and goes in unto her, and lies with her, and she bears a son, and he calls his name Solomon; and Yahweh has loved him, ²⁵ and sends by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and calls his name Jedidiah, because of Yahweh.

¹² And Solomon has sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom is established greatly,

³¹ and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about. ³² And he speaks three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;"

⁹ `Lo, a son is born to you; he is a man of rest, and I have given rest to him from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and peace and quietness I give unto Israel in his days;"

⁵ and out of all my sons--for many sons has Yahweh given to me--He also fixes on Solomon my son, to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel,

²⁸ and he dies in a good old age, satisfied with days, riches, and honor, and reign does Solomon his son in his stead.

¹ Proverbs of Solomon:A wise son makes his father rejoice, Yet a stupid son is affliction to his mother."

¹ These also are proverbs of Solomon Which the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, transcribed:"

¹ The words of the Assembler, son of David, king in Jerusalem:"

⁹ Yet furthermore, because the Assembler was wise, He still taught the people knowledge, And he listened and investigated And set in order many proverbs."

²⁵ These things have I spoken to you in proverbs. Coming is the hour when no longer shall I be speaking to you in proverbs, but with boldness shall I be reporting to you concerning the Father."

⁵ See! I have taught you statutes and judgments just as Yahweh my Elohim had instructed me, for you to do thus within the land where you are entering to tenant it. ⁶ And you must observe and obey them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the eyes of all the peoples who shall hear of all these statutes and will say:Surely this great nation is a people wise and understanding.

⁹ and You have given to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this Your great people?. ¹⁰ And the thing is good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon has asked this thing, ¹¹ and Elohim said unto him, `Because that you have asked this thing, and have not asked for you many days, nor asked for you riches, nor asked the life of your enemies, and have asked for you discernment to understand judgment, ¹² lo, I have done according to your words; lo, I have given to you a heart, wise and understanding, that like you there has not been before you, and after you there does not arise like you;"

⁵ Acquire wisdom; acquire understanding; Do not forget, and do not turn aside from the sayings of my mouth;" ⁶ Do not forsake her, and she shall guard you; Love her, and she shall preserve you." ⁷ The principal thing is wisdom; acquire wisdom, And with all your acquisition, acquire understanding;"

⁴ Say to wisdom, You are my sister, And call understanding your near relative,

⁵ To the simple:Understand prudence; And to the stupid:Understand heart wisdom.

¹⁶ To acquire wisdom, how much better than fine gold, And to acquire understanding, more to be chosen than silver!"

¹⁶ Why then should the price be in the hand of a stupid man To acquire wisdom, since he has no heart understanding?

¹⁵ and that from a babe you are acquainted with the sacred scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be equipped, fitted out for every good act."

²⁸ And all Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of Elohim [is] in his heart, to do judgment.

²² Take hold, I pray, to the law from His mouth, And place His sayings in your heart.

¹ My son, if you take my words And store up my instructions within you, ² Attending with your ear to wisdom, And you stretch out your heart to comprehension, ³ Indeed if you call out for understanding, And you lift up your voice for comprehension, ⁴ If you seek it as for silver And search for it as for buried treasures, ⁵ Then you shall understand the fear of Yahweh, And you shall find the knowledge of God." ⁶ For Yahweh Himself gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and comprehension; ⁷ He stores up sagacity for the upright, A shield for those walking with integrity, ⁸ So as to preserve the paths of judgment, And so He may guard the way of His benign ones." ⁹ Then you shall understand righteousness and right judgment, And you shall be upright in every good route;"

¹⁰ Take in my admonition, and do not prefer silver, And take knowledge rather than choice, fine gold." ¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies, And all delights are not equal to her."

⁷ The law of Yahweh is flawless, restoring the soul; The testimony of Yahweh is faithful, making wise the simple;"

¹¹ Come my sons; hearken to me! I shall teach you the devout fear of Yahweh.

⁹ Whereby shall a youth purge his path? By keeping Your word.

¹³⁰ The opening of Your words is enlightening, Making the simple proficient."

²² How long, O simple ones, shall you love simplicity, And mockers covet their mocking, And the stupid hate knowledge? ²³ May you turn back at my correction; Behold, let me utter what is in my spirit to you; Let me make known my words to you."

¹⁰ For wisdom shall come into your heart, And knowledge shall be pleasant to your soul." ¹¹ Foresight, it shall guard you; Comprehension, it shall preserve you,

²¹ My son, let them not steal away from your eyes:Preserve sagacity and foresight,

⁷ And I saw among the simple, I detected among the sons, A youth who had lack of heart wisdom." ⁸ He was passing along the road beside her corner, And he stepped the way to her house, ⁹ In the gloaming at the evening of the day, In the tranquil night and the gloom;" ¹⁰ And behold, a woman came out to meet him In the burnoose of a prostitute and constricted of heart." ¹¹ She is clamorous and stubborn; Her feet never tabernacle at her home; ¹² At times in the street, at times in the squares, And beside every corner she waits in ambush." ¹³ She held him fast and kissed him; She set her face with impudence and said to him: ¹⁴ The sacrifices of peace offerings were due from me; Today I paid my vows. ¹⁵ Therefore, I came forth to meet you, To seek your face early, and I have found you." ¹⁶ I have decorated my divan with decorative covers, With bedspreads of Egyptian yarn." ¹⁷ I have wafted my bed with myrrh, Aloes and cinnamon." ¹⁸ Do come, let us satiate ourselves with affection until the morning; Let us make ourselves joyous with love expressions." ¹⁹ For the husband is not in his home; He has gone on his way afar. ²⁰ He took a pouch of silver in his hand, And he shall come back to his home only with the day of full moon." ²¹ She turned him aside with her great influence; With slick words on her lips she induced him. ²² Suddenly he was going after her, Like a bull that comes to the slaughter, Like a calf to the bonds of foolish creatures, ²³ Until an arrow thrusts through his liver, As through a bird that hastened to the snare When it did not know that it was set for its soul." ²⁴ Now then, my sons, hearken to me, And attend to the sayings of my mouth."

¹² I, wisdom, I tabernacle with prudence, And I keep hold of knowledge and foresight."

¹⁷ I love those who love me, And those who seek me early find me."

³² Now then, my sons, hearken to me; Happy are those who keep my ways."

⁴ Whoever is simple, let him withdraw hither, She says to him who has lack of heart wisdom." ⁵ Come, dine on my bread, And drink of the wine I have blended." ⁶ Forsake your simple ways and live, And progress in the way of understanding."

⁹ Rejoice, choice youth, in your childhood, And let your heart be well in the days of your prime; Walk in the ways of your heart and by the sight of your eyes, Yet know that for all these the One, Elohim, shall bring you into judgment."

⁸ And there comes to be a highway and a clean one. And the holy way shall it be called. The unclean shall not pass there. And it shall be for those going that way, yet the dispersed shall not go astray on it, and the foolish shall not stray."

²² Now youthful desires flee: yet pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with all who are invoking the Lord out of a clean heart."

⁶ The younger men, similarly, entreat to be sane as to all things,

³² And David said to Abigail, `Blessed [is] Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, who has sent you this day to meet me, ³³ and blessed [is] your discretion, and blessed [are] you in that you have restrained me this day from coming in with blood, and to restrain my hand to myself.

¹⁶ And it comes to pass, in his speaking unto him, that he said to him, `For a counsellor to the king have we appointed you? cease for you; why do they smite you?' And the prophet ceases, and said, `I have known that Elohim has counselled to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not hearkened to my counsel..

¹⁰ Wherefore, men of wise heart, hearken to me:Far be it from El to do wickedness, And Him Who Suffices to do iniquity.

¹⁶ Now if you have understanding, hear this; Give ear to the sound of my declarations.

³⁴ Men of heart shall say to me, And any wise master who is hearkening to me.

⁹⁸ Your instruction makes me wiser than my enemies, For it is with me for the eon." ⁹⁹ I have gained insight more than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation." ¹⁰⁰ I have gained more understanding than elders, For I preserve Your precepts."

⁹ Give reproof to a wise man, and he shall be wiser still; Inform a righteous man, and he shall add to his education."

¹ He who loves admonition loves knowledge, Yet he who hates reproof is irrational."

¹⁵ As to the prudent am I saying it. Judge ye what I am averring.

⁸ Mouth to mouth am I speaking with him, and manifestly, not in enigmas, so that he looks at a representation of Yahweh. So for what reason did you not fear to speak against My servant, against Moses?

⁴ I shall stretch out my ear to a proverb; I shall open out my enigma with a harp.

² I will open my mouth with a proverb; I will utter enigmas from aforetime,

¹¹ The words of the wise are like goad points, And like imbedded bolts for the possessors of gathered sayings They are given by one shepherd."

¹⁰ And, approaching, the disciples say to Him, "Wherefore art Thou speaking in parables to them? ¹¹ Now, answering, He said to them that "To you has it been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of the heavens, yet to those it has not been given." ¹² For anyone who has, to him shall be given, and he shall have a superfluity. Yet anyone who has not, that also which he has shall be taken away from him." ¹³ Therefore in parables am I speaking to them, seeing that, observing, they are not observing, and hearing, they are not hearing, neither are they understanding." ¹⁴ And filled up in them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that is saying, '"In hearing, you will be hearing, and may by no means be understanding, And observing, you will be observing, and may by no means be perceiving." ¹⁵ For stoutened is the heart of this people, And with their ears heavily they hear, And with their eyes they squint, Lest at some time they may be perceiving with their eyes, And with their ears should be hearing, And with their heart may be understanding, And should be turning about, And I shall be healing them.'" ¹⁶ Yet happy are your eyes, for they are observing, and your ears, for they are hearing." ¹⁷ For verily I am saying to you that many prophets and just men yearn to perceive what you are observing, and perceive not, and to hear what you are hearing, and hear not."

³⁴ All these things Jesus speaks in parables to the throngs, and apart from a parable He spoke nothing to them, ³⁵ so that fulfilled may be that which is declared through the prophet saying, I shall be opening My mouth in parables, I shall be emitting what is hid from the disruption."

⁵¹ Do you understand all these things?They are saying to Him, "Yes." ⁵² Now He said to them, "Therefore every scribe made a disciple in the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a householder, who is extracting out of his treasure things new and old."

¹¹ And He said to them, "To you the secret of the kingdom of God has been given, yet to those outside, all is occurring in parables,

³⁴ Yet apart from a parable He did not speak to them. Yet privately, to His own disciples, He explained all."

³⁰ Now Philip, running toward him, hears him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Consequently, you surely know what you are reading!" ³¹ Yet he said, "For how should I be able, if ever someone should not be guiding me?Besides, he entreats Philip, stepping up, to be seated with him."

¹⁴ Now solid nourishment is for the mature, who, because of habit, have faculties exercised for discriminating between the ideal and the evil."

¹⁶ as also in all the epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, in which are some things hard to apprehend, which the unlearned and unstable are twisting, as the rest of the scriptures also, to their own destruction."

²⁸ And He said to mankind, Behold, the fear of Yahweh, it is wisdom, And to withdraw from evil is understanding.

¹⁰ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; All who practice it have a good insight. His praise is standing into the future.

²² How long, O simple ones, shall you love simplicity, And mockers covet their mocking, And the stupid hate knowledge?

²⁹ Because they hated knowledge And would not choose the fear of Yahweh, ³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction,

¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!" ¹³ I have not hearkened to the voice of those directing my instruction, And to those teaching me I have not stretched out my ear;"

¹⁰ The starting point of wisdom is the fear of Yahweh, And the knowledge of the grand Holy One is understanding."

⁵ A fool spurns his father's admonition, Yet he who observes correction shall become prudent."

³³ The fear of Yahweh is the discipline of wisdom, And before glory goes humility."

² The stupid man does not delight in comprehension, But rather in exposing his heart to others."

¹³ The terminus of the whole matter has been heard:Fear the One, Elohim, and keep His instructions, For this is the whole duty of humanity."

¹⁸ He who is believing in Him is not being judged; yet he who is not believing has been judged already, for he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God." ¹⁹ Now this is the judging: that the light has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than the light, for their acts were wicked." ²⁰ For everyone who is committing bad things is hating the light and is not coming to the light, lest his acts may be exposed." ²¹ Now he who is doing the truth is coming to the light that his acts may be made manifest, for they have been wrought in God."

²⁸ And according as they do not test God, to have Him in recognition, God gives them over to a disqualified mind, to do that which is not befitting,

³ Each of you shall fear his mother and his father, and observe My sabbaths:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim.

¹⁸ In case a son of a man should become stubborn and rebellious, and he is not hearkening to the voice of his father or to the voice of his mother, and they discipline him, but he does not hearken to them, ¹⁹ then his father and his mother will grasp him and bring him forth to the elders of his city, at the gate of his place. ²⁰ They will say to the elders of his city:This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He is not hearkening to our voice. He is a glutton and carouser. ²¹ Then all the men of his city will pelt him with stones so that he dies. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

²⁵ If a man sin against a man, then has Elohim judged him; but if against Yahweh a man sin, who does pray for him?' and they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Yahweh has delighted to put them to death.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, do not comply with them;"

¹ My son, if you take my words And store up my instructions within you,

¹ My son, do not forget my law, And let your heart preserve my instructions;"

¹ Hearken, O sons, to a father's discipline, And attend in order to know understanding." ² For I give you good monition; Do not forsake my law. ³ When I was a young son before my father, Tender, and an only child before my mother, ⁴ He directed me and said to me:May your heart uphold my word; Keep my instruction and live;

¹ My son, do attend to my wisdom; To my comprehension, stretch out your ear, ² In order to guard foresight, That your lips may preserve knowledge."

²⁰ My son, preserve the instruction of your father, And do not abandon the law of your mother."

¹ My son, keep my sayings, And store up my instructions within you."

¹⁷ The eye that derides a father And despises the homage due a mother--The ravens of the watercourse shall pick it out, And the vultures shall eat it."

¹ The words of Lemuel, a king:The oracle with which his mother admonished him:"

² And lo! they brought to Him a paralytic, prostrate on a couch. And Jesus, perceiving their faith, said to the paralytic, "Courage, child! Pardoned are your sins!"

²² Now Jesus, being turned and perceiving her, said, "Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.And saved was the woman from that hour."

⁵ getting a reminder of the unfeigned faith which is in you, which first makes its home in your grandmother Lois, and in your mother Eunice. Now, I am persuaded that it is in you also."

⁴² And taking off from his hand his ring is Pharaoh, and is putting it on the hand of Joseph. And clothing him is he in garments of cambric sheen, and is placing a knitted collar of gold on his neck,

²² So that they become life to your soul And grace to your throat.

⁹ She shall bestow a wreath of grace on your head; A crown of beauty shall she award to you.

²⁰ My son, preserve the instruction of your father, And do not abandon the law of your mother." ²¹ Tie them upon your heart continually; Wind them about your throat.

¹⁰ Your cheeks are comely with bead-rows, Your neck with threaded gems."

⁹ You stir my heart, my sister, O bride, you stir my heart With one glance from your eyes, With one coil of your necklace."

¹⁹ and the drops, and the navel ornaments, and the spangles,

¹¹ And I adorn you with adornments, And I give bracelets for your hands, And a chain for your neck."

⁷ Calling is the king with potency to bring in the magi, the sacred scribes, the Chaldeans, and the hieromancers. Responding is the king and saying to the wise men of Babylon that, "Any mortal who will read this writing and disclose its interpretation to me shall be clothed in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall he have authority."

¹⁶ Yet I hear concerning you that you can interpret interpretations and untie knots. Now, if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, in purple shall you be clothed, with a circlet of gold about your neck, and as the third one in the kingdom shall you have authority."

²⁹ Then, at Belshazzar's order, they clothe Daniel in purple, with a circlet of gold about his neck, and they proclaim concerning him that he is the third authority in the kingdom."

⁹ Similarly, women also are to be adorning themselves in raiment, decorously, with modesty and sanity, not with braids and gold, or pearls or costly vesture, ¹⁰ but (what is becoming to women professing a reverence for God) with good works.

³ whose adornment, let it not be the outside, of braiding aught into the hair and of decking with gold, or putting on of garments, ⁴ but the hidden human of the heart, in the incorruptibility of a meek and quiet spirit, which, in God's sight, is costly."

⁷ And coming is it after these things, that lifting is the wife of his lord her eyes to Joseph and is saying, "Lie with me. ⁸ And refusing is he, and saying to his lord's wife, "Behold! My lord knows naught of me in the house, and all, forsooth, that is his he gives into my hand. ⁹ No one is greater in this house than I, and he has not kept back aught from me save you, in that you are his wife. And how shall I do this great evil and sin against the Elohim? ¹⁰ And coming is it, as she speaks to Joseph day by day, that he does not hearken to her to lie beside her, to be with her. ¹¹ And coming is a day as this, and coming is Joseph to the house to do his work, and no man of the mortals of the household is there in the house. ¹² And grasping him is she by his cloak, saying, "Lie with me!"And leaving is he his cloak in her hand, and fleeing, and faring forth outside. ¹³ And coming is it, as she sees that he leaves his cloak in her hand and is fleeing and faring forth outside,

⁸ neither shall you comply with him, nor shall you hearken to him; neither shall your eye commiserate over him, nor shall you spare him; and you shall not cover up for him.

¹⁶ And it comes to pass, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and does urge him, and his soul is grieved to death, ¹⁷ that he declares to her all his heart, and said to her, `A razor has not gone up on my head, for a Nazarite to Elohim I [am] from the womb of my mother; if I have been shaven, then has my power turned aside from me, and I have been weak, and have been as any of the human race.. <sup>18</sup> And Delilah sees that he has declared to her all his heart, and she sends and calls for the princes of the Philistines, saying, `Come up this time, for he has declared to me all his heart;' and the princes of the Philistines have come up unto her, and bring up the money in their hand. ¹⁹ and she makes him sleep on her knees, and calls for a man, and shaves the seven locks of his head, and begins to afflict him, and his power turns aside from off him;" ²⁰ and she said, `Philistines [are] upon you, Samson;' and he awakes out of his sleep, and said, `I go out as time by time, and shake myself;' and he has not known that Yahweh has turned aside from off him. ²¹ And the Philistines seize him, and pick out his eyes, and bring him down to Gaza, and bind him with two brazen fetters; and he is grinding in the prison-house.

¹ Happy is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Who neither stands in the way of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of mockers.

¹⁸ If you see a thief, you approve of him, And your portion is with those committing adultery."

²¹ She turned him aside with her great influence; With slick words on her lips she induced him. ²² Suddenly he was going after her, Like a bull that comes to the slaughter, Like a calf to the bonds of foolish creatures, ²³ Until an arrow thrusts through his liver, As through a bird that hastened to the snare When it did not know that it was set for its soul."

²⁰ He who walks with the wise becomes wise, Yet he who associates with the stupid is imperiled."

²⁹ A malicious man entices his associate And leads him in a way that is not good;

¹⁹ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, And so you should not mix with one who entices with his lips."

¹⁸ for such for our Lord Christ are not slaving, but for their own bowels, and through compliments and adulation are deluding the hearts of the innocent."

¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

⁸ He sits in ambush in the hamlets; In places of concealment he kills the innocent; His eyes lurk for the pauper. ⁹ He waits in ambush in concealment like a lion in its covert; He waits in ambush to kidnap the humble; He kidnaps the humble by drawing him into his net. ¹⁰ The distressed one is crushed and bows down, And the army of paupers falls prey to his staunch ones.

¹² His likeness is like a lion that longs to tear prey, And like a sheltered lion sitting in concealment."

⁷ For gratuitously have they buried their net for me; Gratuitously have they delved a grave for my soul.

⁶ They are stirring up plots; they are lurking; They are keeping track of my heel prints, As though they expected to take my soul."

⁵ They are encouraging themselves in an evil matter; They are recounting plans to bury traps; They say, Who shall see us? ⁶ They are searching into iniquity, Saying, We will finish a thorough search. The inward thought of each and the heart are deep."

¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood."

¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls.

⁶ The words of the wicked wait in ambush for blood, Yet the mouth of the upright shall rescue them."

¹⁴ A breed of men whose teeth are swords, And whose canines are knives, To devour the humble from the earth And the needy from mankind."

²⁶ For the wicked have been found among My people. It looks about the covering of snares, They have set up a trap--men they capture."

¹⁹ And I [am] as a trained lamb brought to slaughter, And I have not known That against me they have devised devices:We destroy the tree with its food, and cut him off From the land of the living, And his name is not remembered again."

¹⁸ And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law does not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words." ¹⁹ Give attention, O Yahweh, unto me, And hearken to the voice of those contending with me." ²⁰ Is evil recompensed instead of good, That they have dug a pit for my soul? Remember my standing before You to speak good of them, To turn back Your wrath from them."

² The kindly one has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among humanity. All of them are ambushing for blood; each man is hunting his brother with a seine net."

³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered in the courtyard of the chief priest, who is termed Caiaphas, ⁴ and they plan that they should be laying hold of Jesus by guile and should be killing Him.

²⁵ but it is that the word written in their law may be fulfilled, that they hate Me gratuitously."

¹⁵ Now then, you inform the captain together with the Sanhedrin, so that he may be leading him down to you, as being about to investigate more exactly that which concerns him; yet we, before he draws near, are ready to assassinate him."

³ requesting a favor against him, so that he should send after him to bring him into Jerusalem, making an ambush to assassinate him by the way."

³⁰ Yet should Yahweh create an unprecedented creation so that the ground opens wide its mouth, swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they descend alive to the unseen, then you will know that these mortals have spurned Yahweh. ³¹ It came to be as he finished speaking all these words that the ground which was under them was rent, ³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households and all the humans who were with Korah and all the goods. ³³ So they descended, they and all who belonged to them, alive to the unseen; and the earth covered over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.

¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with Korah in the death of that congregation when the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became like a warning banner.

⁹ For there is nothing established in their mouth; Within them are woes; A sepulcher opened is their throat; With their tongue they deal slickly.

¹ {Davidic{ To You, O Yahweh, am I calling out; My Rock, O do not turn from me in silence. Lest, if You should hush to me, I would become comparable with descenders to the crypt."

²⁵ Let them not say in their heart, Aha, our soul is pleased; Let them not say, We swallowed him up."

¹ {A Davidic Inscribed Psalm{ {When the Philistines held him in Gath{ Be gracious to me, O Elohim, for a mortal gasps after me; All day long this fighting man is oppressing me." ² They gasp, those who lie in wait for me the entire day, For many are fighting against me haughtily."

³ He shall send from the heavens and save me; He will reproach the one gasping after me; {Interlude{ Elohim shall send His benignity and His faithfulness.

³ Then they would have swallowed us up alive In the heat of their anger against us;

⁷ Quickly answer me, O Yahweh; my spirit is exhausted; O do not conceal Your face from me, Or I would become comparable with descenders to the crypt."

³⁴ Devoured us, crushed us, has Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, He has set us [as] an empty vessel, He has swallowed us as a dragon, He has filled his belly with my dainties, He has driven us away."

⁵ Yahweh has become like an enemy; He has swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her citadels; He has ruined its fortresses; And He is multiplying, in the daughter of Judah, complaint and complaining."

¹⁶ They open their mouth wide at you, all your enemies; They hiss and gnash their teeth; they say, We have swallowed them up! Yea, this is the day that we expected; we have come upon it and have seen it!"

² You who are hating good and loving evil, snatching their skin off them, and their meat off their bones, ³ and who devour the meat of My people, and their skin they strip off them, and their bones they crunch, and spread them, as meat in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the caldron."

¹³ A sepulcher opened is their throat. With their tongues they defraud."The venom of asps is under their lips."

² The wicked move away boundary markers; They pillage the drove and openly graze them. ³ The orphans donkey they lead away; They take the widow's bull as a pledge.

¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

¹³ For, says he, "By the vigor of my hand I did it, and by my wisdom, for understanding have I. And I am taking away the boundaries of the peoples, and their equipment I rob. And I am bringing down, as a sturdy one, their dwellers, ¹⁴ and my hand is finding, as a nest, the estate of the peoples, and, as one gathers forsaken eggs, the entire earth do I gather. And no one comes to be ruffling a wing, or opening wide the mouth and chirping."

¹⁶ He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well--is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are not, Except on your dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence."

¹² The lion is tearing to pieces sufficient for his whelps, and is strangling for his parent lionesses. He is filling his holes with prey, and his habitations with flesh torn to pieces."

⁹ Greater shall become the glory of this latter house than the former, says Yahweh of hosts. And in this place will I give peace, (averring is Yahweh of hosts)."

¹⁵ Now He said to them, "See and guard against all greed, for one's life is not in the superfluity of his possessions."

⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction." ¹⁰ For a root of all of the evils is the fondness for money, which some, craving, were led astray from the faith and try themselves on all sides with much pain."

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who commit prostitution and indulge with her, will be lamenting and grieving over her whenever they may be observing the smoke of her conflagration, ¹⁰ standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe! Woe! that great city! Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour your judging came.'" ¹¹ And the merchants of the earth are lamenting and mourning over her, for no one is buying their cargo any longer:" ¹² a cargo of gold, and of silver, and of precious stones, and of pearls; and of cambric, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet; including also every kind of citron wood; and every ivory utensil, and every utensil of most valuable wood and of copper and of iron and of marble;" ¹³ including also cinnamon, and ginger, and incenses, and attar, and frankincense; and wine, and oil, and flour, and grain; and beasts, and sheep, and made up of horses, and of coaches, and of bodies, including also human souls." ¹⁴ And the fruition of your yearning soul passed away from you, and all that is sumptuous and splendid perished from you, and they will be finding them no longer under any circumstances.'" ¹⁵ The merchants of these things, who are rich through her, will be standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, lamenting and mourning, ¹⁶ saying, 'Woe! woe! the great city clothed in cambric and purple and scarlet, and gilded with gold and precious stones, and pearl,

⁴ I have not sat with men of hypocrisy, And with dissemblers I shall not enter." ⁵ I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And with the wicked I shall not sit."

¹⁰¹ 1 I detain my feet from every evil path, That I may keep Your word."

¹⁴ In the path of the wicked, do not enter, And do not progress along the way of evil men." ¹⁵ Renounce it; do not pass within it; Swerve from it, and pass on."

²⁷ Do not turn aside to the right or left; Take away your foot from evil.

⁸ Keep your way far from her; Do not go near to the portal of her house,

⁶ Forsake your simple ways and live, And progress in the way of understanding."

¹⁰ Thus said Yahweh concerning this people:Well they have loved to wander, Their feet they have not restrained, And Yahweh has not accepted them, Now does He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin."

¹⁷ Wherefore, Come out of their midst and be severed, the Lord is saying. And touch not the unclean, and I will admit you,

¹⁶ For they cannot sleep until they assuredly do evil, And their sleep is snatched away if they have not caused someone to stumble."

¹⁸ A heart engrossed with lawless devisings, Feet hastening to run to evil,

⁷ Their feet are running to evil, and they are hastening to shed innocent blood. Their devices are devices of lawlessness. Devastation and breaking and violence are in their highways."

⁵ Now if our injustice is commending God's righteousness, what shall we declare? Not that God Who is bringing on indignation is unjust! (As a man am I saying it.)"

¹¹ Training us by the beasts of the earth, And by the flier of the heavens, He makes us wise?

²³ Until an arrow thrusts through his liver, As through a bird that hastened to the snare When it did not know that it was set for its soul."

³ The bull knows his owner, and the ass the crib of his possessors, yet Israel does not know Me, and My people do not consider Me."

⁷ Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And--My people have not known the judgment of Yahweh."

¹⁰ Then they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's fury subsided.

¹⁴ Behold, he shall be cramped with lawlessness, And he will become pregnant with toil, And he will generate falsehood. ¹⁵ He has dug a crypt and delved it deep. Yet he shall fall into the grave he has made. ¹⁶ His toil shall turn back upon his head, And his wrong shall descend on his scalp.

¹⁶ Yahweh is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked are trapped by the deed of His palms. {Chant, Interlude{ "

²³ And You, O Elohim, You shall bring them down to the well of ruin, These mortals of bloodshed and deceit, Who shall not live half their days; As for me, I am trusting in You. {Permanent{ {Concerning the Mute Dove Afar{ "

²² Concerning the wicked man, his depravities, they shall seize him, And by the cables of his sin shall he be held firm." ²³ He himself shall die in his lack of discipline, And in his great folly he shall expire."

¹⁷ Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in concealments is pleasant." ¹⁸ But he does not know that the Rephaim are there, That those she has called are in the depths of the unseen."

¹⁷ A man threatened by shedding the blood of a soul shall flee until descending to the crypt. Let them not uphold him.

⁴ saying, "I sinned in giving up innocent blood.Yet they said, "What is it to us? You should be seeing to that!" ⁵ And, tossing the silver pieces into the temple, he retires, and, coming away, strangles himself."

¹¹ And Joab said to the man who is declaring [it] to him, `And lo, you have seen--and wherefore did you not smite him there to the earth--and on me to give to you ten silverlings and one girdle?. <sup>12</sup> And the man said unto Joab, `Yea, though I am weighing on my hand a thousand silverlings, I do not put forth my hand unto the son of the king; for in our ears has the king charged you, and Abishai, and Ittai, saying, Observe you who [is] against the youth--against Absalom;" ¹³ or I had done against my soul a vain thing, and no matter is hid from the king, and you--you do station yourself over-against..

²⁰ And Gehazi, servant of Elisha the man of Elohim, said, `Lo, my lord has spared Naaman this Aramean, not to receive from his hand that which he brought; Yahweh lives; surely if I have run after him, then I have taken from him something.. <sup>21</sup> And Gehazi pursues after Naaman, and Naaman sees one running after him, and alights from off the chariot to meet him, and said, `Is there peace?. ²² And he said, `Peace; my lord has sent me, saying, Lo, now, this, come unto me have two young men from the hill-country of Ephraim, of the sons of the prophets; give, I pray you, to them, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.. <sup>23</sup> And Naaman said, `Be pleased, take two talents;' and he urges on him, and binds two talents of silver in two purses, and two changes of garments, and gives unto two of his young men, and they bear before him;" ²⁴ and he comes in unto the high place, and takes out of their hand, and lays up in the house, and sends away the men, and they go. ²⁵ And he has come in, and does stand by his lord, and Elisha said unto him, `Whence--Gehazi?' and he said, `Your servant went not hither or thither.. ²⁶ And he said unto him, `My heart went not when the man turned from off his chariot to meet you; is it a time to take silver, and to take garments, and olives, and vines, and flock, and herd, and men-servants, and maid-servants? ²⁷ yea, the leprosy of Naaman does cleave to you, and to your seed, --to the eon;' and he goes out from before him--leprous as snow.

³⁹ If I have eaten of its vigor without paying silver, So that I have caused the soul of its possessor to expire,

²⁷ He who is greedy for gain brings trouble on his house, Yet he who hates bribes shall live."

³ Do not yearn for his tasties, For that is bread of lies." ⁴ Do not weary yourself in order to become rich; In your understanding forbear.

¹³ There is a travailing evil I have seen under the sun:Riches are kept by their possessor to his peril;

¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are not, Except on your dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence." ¹⁸ Therefore, thus said Yahweh concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honor." ¹⁹ The burial of an ass--he is buried, Dragged and cast out thence to the gates of Jerusalem."

¹ Woe to devisers of lawlessness and contrivers of evil on their beds! In the light of the morning are they executing it, for it is at the disposal of their hand." ² And they covet fields and snatch them, and houses, and bear them away, and they extort the master and his house, the man and his allotment." ³ Wherefore, thus says Yahweh:Behold Me devising an evil against this family, whence you shall not remove your necks. Nor shall you walk haughtily, for it shall be an era of evil."

¹⁰ building Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity;" ¹¹ her heads are judging for a bribe, and her priests are directing for a price, and her prophets are divining for money, and on Yahweh they are leaning, saying:Is not Yahweh within us? Evil shall not come on us." ¹² Wherefore, due to you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become rubbish heaps, and the mountain of the house fane heights of a wildwood."

⁹ Woe to him gaining an evil gain for his house in order to place his nest in the height, to be rescued from the clutch of evil!"

¹⁹ saying, "Give me also this authority, that on whomsoever I may be placing my hands, he may be obtaining holy spirit." ²⁰ Yet Peter said to him, "May your silver be for destruction together with you, seeing that you infer that the gratuity of God is to be acquired by means of money!"

³ no toper, not quarrelsome, but lenient, pacific, not fond of money,

¹ Come now, you rich, lament, howling for your wretchedness which is coming on you! " ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become food for moths. ³ Your gold and silver corrode and their venom will be for a testimony against you, and the venom will be eating your flesh as fire. You hoard in the last days." ⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts."

³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."

¹⁴ having the distended eyes of an adulteress, and that do not stop from sin, luring unstable souls, having a heart exercised by greed, children of a curse." ¹⁵ Leaving the straight path, they were led astray, following out the path of Balaam of Beor, who loves the wages of injustice, ¹⁶ yet was exposed for his own outlawry. A voiceless yoke-beast, uttering with a human voice, forbids the insanity of the prophet."

¹ Is not wisdom calling And comprehension giving forth her voice? ² At the summit of the heights upon the way, The meeting house of the tracks, there she is stationed." ³ At the side of the gates, at the edge of the town, The entry of the portals, there she makes her appeal." ⁴ To you, O men, I am calling And raising my voice to the sons of humanity;" ⁵ To the simple:Understand prudence; And to the stupid:Understand heart wisdom.

³ She has sent forth her maidens; She is calling from the peaks of the town heights:

⁵⁴ And coming into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they are astonished, and are saying, "Whence has this one this wisdom and powerful deeds?

⁴⁹ Therefore, also, God's Wisdom said, 'I shall be dispatching to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will be killing and banishing,'"

³⁷ Now on the last, the great day of the festival, Jesus stood and cries, saying, "If anyone should be thirsting, let him come to Me and drink."

²⁴ yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God,

³⁰ Yet you, of Him, are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, besides righteousness and holiness and deliverance,

³ in Whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are concealed.

²⁷ What I am saying to you in the darkness, say in the light. And what you hearing in the ear, herald on the housetops."

² And gathered to Him were vast throngs, so that He steps into a ship to be sitting, and the entire throng stood on the beach."

²⁰ And Jesus answered him, "I with boldness have spoken to the world. I always teach in a synagogue and in the sanctuary where all the Jews are coming together, and in hiding I speak nothing."

²⁰ Go, and, standing in the sanctuary, speak to the people all the declarations of this life."

³ So Moses and Aaron entered to Pharaoh and said to him: Thus says Yahweh, Elohim of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to be humbled because of My presence? Dismiss My people that they may serve Me!"

²⁸ Hence Yahweh said to Moses: How long will you refuse to observe My instructions and My laws?

²⁷ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, they who are grumbling against Me? I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel which they are grumbling against Me.

⁷ What master is like Job? He drinks derision like water;

⁸ Understand, you irrational ones among the people! And you stupid ones, when shall you act intelligently?

⁴ To give to the simple, prudence, To youth, knowledge and foresight--"

⁷ The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; The foolish despise wisdom and discipline.

²⁹ Because they hated knowledge And would not choose the fear of Yahweh,

³⁴ If as to mockers, He Himself mocks, So as to the humble, He gives grace."

¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!"

⁹ How long shall you lie down, O slothful one? When shall you rise from your sleep?

⁷ And I saw among the simple, I detected among the sons, A youth who had lack of heart wisdom."

¹⁶ Let whoever is simple withdraw hither, And whoever has lack of heart wisdom; And she says to him:"

⁶ A mocker seeks wisdom and finds it not, Yet knowledge comes easily to one of understanding."

¹² A mocker does not love any correction of himself; He does not go to the wise.

²⁹ Judgments are prepared for mockers And beatings for the body of the stupid.

¹¹ When a mocker is fined, the simple person shall become wise, And when a wise man gains intelligence, he takes in knowledge."

¹³ Now go, learn what this is: Mercy am I wanting, and not sacrifice. For I did not come to call the just but sinners."

²⁹ Lift My yoke upon you and be learning from Me, for meek am I and humble in heart, and you shall be finding rest in your souls, ³⁰ for My yoke is kindly and My load is light."

¹⁷ Now then answering, Jesus said to them, "O generation unbelieving and perverse! Till when shall I be with you? Till when shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."

³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!"

⁴² saying that, "If you knew, even you, and surely in this day, what is for your peace-! Yet now it was hid from your eyes,

²⁰ For everyone who is committing bad things is hating the light and is not coming to the light, lest his acts may be exposed."

³ knowing this first, that in the last days scoffers will be coming with scoffing, going according to their own desires"

¹⁷ And the spirit and the bride are saying, 'Come!' and let him who is hearing say, 'Come!' And let him who is thirsting come. Let him who will, take the water of life gratuitously."

¹ {A Davidic Praise{ I shall exalt You, my Elohim the King; Let me bless Your Name for the eon and further."

²⁵ And you renounced all my counsel, And you would not heed my reproof,

³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction,

²³ For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

¹⁷ He who keeps admonition is in the path to life, Yet he who forsakes reproof is led astray."

¹ The man receiving reproofs who is still stiff necked Shall be broken in an instant, and there will be no healing."

¹⁵ till emptied on us shall be the spirit from the height. "Then the wilderness will come to be for crop land, and the crop land for wildwood will be accounted."

⁸ Drip, you heavens, from above, and the skies shall distil righteousness. The earth shall open, and it shall bud salvation. And righteousness shall sprout together with it, I, Yahweh, create it."

¹ Ho! Every thirsty one! Go to the water! And he who has no money, go, purchase and eat and drink, and go, purchase with no money and with no price, wine and milk." ² Why will you weigh out money for that which is not bread? And give your labor for that which gives no satisfaction? Hearken, yea hearken to Me, and eat what is good. And deliciousness in sleekness shall your soul enjoy." ³ Stretch out your ear and go to Me; hear Me, and your soul shall live in good. And I will contract with you a covenant eonian, the kindnesses of David that are faithful."

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

¹⁴ Turn back, O backsliding sons, An affirmation of Yahweh. For I have ruled over you, And taken you one of a city, and two of a family, And have brought you to Zion,

²⁷ And in the turning back of the wicked From his wickedness that he has done, And he does judgment and righteousness, He his soul does keep alive." ²⁸ And he sees and turns back, From all his transgressions that he has done, He does surely live, he does not die, ²⁹ And the house of Israel have said, Not pondered is the way of the Lord, My ways--are they not pondered? O house of Israel--are not your ways unpondered? ³⁰ Therefore, each according to his ways I judge you, O house of Israel? An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Turn you back, yea, turn yourselves back, From all your transgressions, And iniquity is not to you for a stumbling-block,

¹¹ Say unto them, I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, I delight not in the death of the wicked, But--in the turning of the wicked from his way, And he has lived, Turn back, turn back, from your evil ways, Yea, why do you die, O house of Israel?

¹ Return, O Israel, unto Yahweh, your Elohim, for you stumble in your depravity."

²⁸ And it comes afterward, I shall pour out My spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your elders shall dream dreams, your chosen ones shall see visions."

¹⁰ Yet I pour out on the house of David, and on the dwellers of Jerusalem, a spirit of grace and supplications; and they look to Him Whom they stabbed, and they will wail over Him as the wailing over the only son, and they will be embittered over Him as the embittering over the firstborn."

¹³ If you, then, being inherently wicked, are aware how to give good gifts to your children, how much rather will the Father Who is out of heaven, be giving holy spirit to those requesting Him!"

³⁶ What is this word which he said, 'You will be seeking me, and you shall not be finding me, and where I am, you can not be coming'? ³⁷ Now on the last, the great day of the festival, Jesus stood and cries, saying, "If anyone should be thirsting, let him come to Me and drink."

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel know certainly, then, that God makes Him Lord as well as Christ - this Jesus Whom you crucify!" ³⁷ Now, hearing this, their heart was pricked with compunction. Besides, they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "What should we be doing, men, brethren? ³⁸ Now Peter is averring to them, "Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the pardon of your sins, and you shall be obtaining the gratuity of the holy spirit."

¹⁹ Repent, then, and turn about for the erasure of your sins, so that seasons of refreshing should be coming from the face of the Lord,

²⁰ but first to those in Damascus, besides in Jerusalem also, besides to the entire province of Judea, and to the nations, I reported that they are to be repenting and turning back to God, engaging acts worthy of repentance."

¹⁶ Thus, seeing that you are indifferent, and are neither zealous nor cool, I am about to spew you out of My mouth." ¹⁷ Seeing that you are saying that 'Rich am I!' and 'Rich have I become, and of nothing have I need!' and you are not aware that you are wretched and forlorn and poor and blind and naked, ¹⁸ I am advising you to buy of Me gold refined by the fire, that you should be rich, and white garments, that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness may not be made manifest, and eye-salve to anoint your eyes, that you may be observing." ¹⁹ '"Whosoever I may be fond of, I am exposing and disciplining. Be zealous, then, and repent!"

²⁰ You shall conceal them in the concealment of Your presence From the coalitions of man; You shall seclude them in a booth From the dispute of tongues.

² For what reason, when I came, was there no man? I called, and there was no answer? Is My hand too short to ransom? Or should no vigor be in Me to rescue? Behold! By My rebuke will I drain the sea; I will convert streams into a wilderness. Their fish will dry up, because there is no water, and they will die from thirst."

¹² I count you for the sword, and all of you for slaughter shall be hacked down. Because I called, yet you did not answer, I spoke, yet you did not hearken. And you are doing evil in My eyes. And what I do not desire, that you choose."

⁴ Moreover, I, I will choose among their unweaned, and their shrinking ones will I bring to them, because I called and there was no answer, I spoke and they did not hearken. And they are doing evil in My eyes, and what I do not desire, that they choose."

¹³ And now, because of your doing all these works, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I speak unto you, rising early and speaking, And you have not hearkened, And I call you, and you have not answered,

¹⁸ And I also deal in fury, Mine eye does not pity, nor do I spare, and they have cried in Mine ears--a loud voice--and I do not hear them.'"

¹¹ Yet they are refusing to attend, and they are giving a stubborn shoulder, and their ears they make heavy against hearing, ¹² and their hearts they make corundum against hearing the law and the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by His spirit, by the hand of the former prophets. And great wrath is coming from Yahweh of hosts."

⁵ Yet they, not caring, came away, one, indeed, to his own field, yet one to his merchandise." ⁶ Yet the rest, taking hold of his slaves, outrage and kill them."

³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!" ³⁸ Lo! left is your house to you desolate.

³⁰ by the stretching out of Thy hand for healing and signs and miracles to occur through the name of Thy holy Boy Jesus."

²¹ Now to Israel He is saying, The whole day I spread out My hands to a stubborn and contradicting people!"

²⁵ Beware! You should not be refusing Him Who is speaking! For if those escaped not, refusing the One apprizing on earth, much rather we, who are turning from the One from the heavens, ²⁶ Whose voice then shakes the earth. Yet now He has promised, saying, Still once more shall I be quaking, not only the earth, but heaven also."

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

¹¹ Yet My people would not hearken to My voice, And Israel would not comply with Me."

¹¹ Because they had rebelled against the sayings of El, And had spurned the counsel of the Supreme,

³⁰ Yet the Pharisees and those learned in the law repudiate the counsel of God for themselves, not being baptized by him."

¹⁴ Go and cry unto the elohims on which you have fixed; they--they save you in the time of your adversity.'

⁴ The One sitting in the heavens, He shall ridicule; Yahweh, He shall deride them.

¹³ Yahweh, He is ridiculing him, For He sees that his day shall come."

¹⁵ Therefore calamity for him shall come suddenly; He shall be broken instantly, and there will be no healing."

²⁴ What the wicked one shrinks from, it shall come to him, And what the righteous yearn for shall be given."

²⁴ For I am saying to you that not one of those men who are invited shall be tasting of my dinner.'"

⁹ Ere their pots could detect the boxthorn fire, Like a thistle, like a prickly acanthus, He shall toss him away in a tempest."

²² Let their table become a trap before them, And a repayment and a snare." ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, kept from seeing, And let their waist be bowed low continually." ²⁴ Pour out Your indignation upon them, And let Your hot anger overtake them." ²⁵ Let their domicile become desolate; Let no one be dwelling in their tents. ²⁶ As for You, they persecute those whom You have smitten, And they are recounting the pain of those wounded by You." ²⁷ Do bestow depravity on their depravity, And let them not come into Your righteousness." ²⁸ Let them be wiped out from the scroll of life, And let them not be written with the righteous."

²⁵ You shall certainly not fear sudden alarm Or the ruination of the wicked that is coming; ²⁶ For Yahweh Himself shall be your confidence, And He will keep your foot from seizure."

²⁴ What the wicked one shrinks from, it shall come to him, And what the righteous yearn for shall be given." ²⁵ Like the passing sweeping whirlwind, the wicked one is not remaining, Yet the righteous one is founded for the eon."

¹³ The folkstems shall be tumulted as the tumult of many waters, yet He rebukes them, and they flee far off, and they will be pursued as the trash of the winnowers before the wind, and as a tumbleweed before a sweeping whirlwind."

³ Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in vigor, and verily He will not make innocent. Yahweh has His way in the sweeping whirlwind and in the horror, and a cloud is the dust of His feet."

²³ Yet woe to those who are pregnant, and to those suckling in those days; for there will be great necessity in the land and indignation on this people." ²⁴ And they shall be falling by the edge of the sword and shall be led into captivity into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden by the nations, until the eras of the nations may be fulfilled." ²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun and the moon and the constellations, and on the earth pressure of nations in perplexity, at the resounding of the sea and the shaking, ²⁶ at the chilling of men from fear and apprehensiveness of that which is coming on the inhabited earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."

³⁴ Now take heed to yourselves, lest at some time your hearts should be burdened with crapulence and drunkenness and the worries of life's affairs, and that day may be standing by you unawares, ³⁵ as a trap, for it will intrude on all those sitting on the surface of the entire earth."

⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek,

³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape."

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the magnates, and the captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every slave and freeman, hide themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains." ¹⁶ And they are saying to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him Who is sitting on the throne, and from the indignation of the Lambkin, ¹⁷ for the great day of Their indignation came, and who is able to stand?

³ And saying is Yahweh Elohim, "Not abide shall My spirit in the human for the eon, in that moreover, he is flesh. And come shall his days to be a hundred and twenty years.

¹⁸ And you have cried out in that day because of the king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and Yahweh does not answer you in that day..

⁹ Shall El hearken to his cry When distress comes upon him?

¹² There they cry (yet He does not answer) Because of the pride of evil men.

⁴¹ They implored, yet there was no salvation; They called to Yahweh, yet He would not answer them."

³⁴ Whenever He killed them, then they sought after Him, And they returned and sought early for El." ³⁵ Then they remembered that Elohim is their Rock, And El, the Supreme, is their Redeemer." ³⁶ Yet they would entice Him with their mouth And lie to Him with their tongue.

¹⁵ And when you spread your palms to Me, I will obscure My eyes from you. Moreover, in case you are increasing your prayers, there is no hearing by Me. Your hands are full of blood. Amidst your fingers extrudes lawlessness."

¹¹ Therefore thus said Yahweh:Lo, I am bringing in unto them evil, That they are not able to go out from, And they have cried unto Me, And I do not hearken unto them."

¹² When they fast, I hearken not unto their cry, And when they cause to ascend burnt-offering and present, I accept them not, For by sword, and by famine, And by pestilence, I am consuming them."

¹⁵ For I will go and return to My place till they are pleading guilty, and they seek My face. In their distress they will seek Me early, saying:"

⁴ Then shall they cry out to Yahweh, and He will not answer them, and He will conceal His face from them in that era, just as they do evil in their actions."

¹³ And it is coming, just as he calls and they did not hear, so are they calling, and I am not hearing, says Yahweh of hosts."

²² Many will be declaring to Me in that day, 'Lord! Lord! Was it not in Your name that we prophesy, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many powerful deeds?'" ²³ And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'"

¹⁰ Now, at their coming away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who are ready entered with him into the wedding festivities, and the door is locked." ¹¹ Now subsequently the rest of the virgins also are coming, saying 'Lord! Lord! Open to us!'" ¹² Yet he, answering, said, 'Verily, I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you!'"

²⁵ From which time the householder should be roused and latch the door, and you should be beginning to stand outside and to be knocking at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' and answering, he will be declaring to you, 'I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you?'" ²⁶ Then should you be beginning to say, 'We ate and drank in your sight, and in our squares you teach!'" ²⁷ He also will be declaring: 'I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you? Withdraw from me, all workers of injustice!'" ²⁸ There will be lamentation and gnashing of teeth, whenever you should be seeing Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, yet you cast outside."

³ You are requesting and not obtaining, because you are requesting evilly, that you should be spending it on your gratifications."

¹⁴ Yet they say to El, Go away from us, For we do not desire a knowledge of Your ways. ¹⁵ What is He Who Suffices that we should serve Him? And what benefit would we gain that we should make intercession to Him?

¹⁶ Yet Elohim says to the wicked one, What is it to you to recount My statutes, Or that you bear My covenant on your mouth? ¹⁷ For you, you hate admonition, And you fling My words behind you."

¹¹ when its grass is dry. Women shall look forward, coming to enlighten it, for it is not a people of understanding. Therefore no compassion is its Maker showing to it, and its Former will not be gracious to it."

⁹ For a rebellious people are they, sons of dissimulations, sons who would not hearken to the law of Yahweh, ¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles." ¹¹ Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path. Eradicate from our face the Holy One of Israel." ¹² Wherefore, thus says Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel:"Because you reject this word, and are trusting in extortion and are devious, and are leaning on it,

⁴² Yet of few is there need, or of one. For Mary chooses the good part which shall not be wrested from her."

⁵¹ Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in your hearts and ears, you are ever clashing with the holy spirit! As your fathers, you also!" ⁵² Which of the prophets do not your fathers persecute? And they kill those who announce before concerning the coming of the Just One, of Whom now you became the traitors and murderers -" ⁵³ who got the law for a mandate of messengers and do not maintain it!" ⁵⁴ Now, hearing these things, they were harrowed in their hearts, and gnashed their teeth at him."

²⁵ preferring rather to be maltreated with the people of God than to have a temporary enjoyment of sin,

¹¹¹ I am allotted Your testimonies for the eon; Indeed they are the elation of my heart.

¹⁷³ May Your hand be ready to help me, For I have chosen Your precepts."

⁹ Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Yahweh they kicked, And the wisdom of what--have they?

¹⁸ And they all begin, from one motive, to make excuse. The first said to him, 'I buy a field, and I have felt the necessity of coming out to see it. I am asking you to have me excused.'" ¹⁹ And a different one said, 'I buy five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I am asking you to have me excused.'" ²⁰ And a different one said, 'I marry a wife, and therefore I can not come.'"

⁸ Just as I have seen, those who plow lawlessness And those who sow misery are harvesting it.

¹⁴ He whose heart turns away shall be fully repaid for his ways, And the good man for his actions."

⁸ He who sows iniquity shall reap sorrow, And the club of his rage shall fail."

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that good is his portion, for the fruit of their actions are they eating." ¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

¹⁹ Instruct you does your wickedness, And your backslidings reprove you, Know and see that an evil and a bitter thing [Is] your forsaking Yahweh your Elohim, And My fear not being on you, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh of Hosts."

¹⁹ Hear, O earth, lo, I am bringing evil on this people, The fruit of their devices, For to My words they gave no attention, And My law--they kick against it."

⁷ Be not decived, God is not to be sneered at, for whatsoever a man may be sowing, this shall he be reaping also, ⁸ for he who is sowing for his own flesh, from the flesh shall be reaping corruption, yet he who is sowing for the spirit, from the spirit shall be reaping life eonian."

¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation. ¹⁶ They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation. ¹⁷ They sacrificed to demons, not Eloah, to elohim--they had not known them before--to new ones that came from nearby; your fathers were not horrified by them. ¹⁸ The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you. ¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters. ²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them. ²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation. ²² For a fire will be kindled by My anger, and it shall glow unto the unseen beneath; it shall devour the earth and its crop, and it shall set aflame the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them ²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil. ²⁵ From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man. ²⁶ I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals, ²⁷ unless I shrank away from the vexation of the enemy; lest their foes misconstrue, lest they say:Our hand is high, and it was not Yahweh Who contrived all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise; they would proceed intelligently in this; they would understand about their latter days! ³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them? ³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires. ³² For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison, and the clusters are bitterness to them;" ³³ their wine is as the fury of snakes and the poison of cobras, as cruel. ³⁴ Is it not amassed with Me, sealed among My treasure. ³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them. ³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free. ³⁷ Then Yahweh will ask:Where are their elohim, the rock in whom they took refuge, ³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you. ³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!" ⁴⁰ For I lift My hand to the heavens and declare:As I am the Life for the eon, ⁴¹ when I whet My flashing sword and My hand lays hold on judgment, I shall return vengeance to My foes, and to My haters shall I make repayment. ⁴² I shall make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, the blood of the one mortally wounded and the captive, from the head of the enemy commanders. ⁴³ Jubilate, O heavens, together with Him, and worship Him, all the messengers of Elohim! Jubilate, O nations, with His people! For the blood of His servants shall He avenge, vengeance to His foes shall He return, and a propitiatory shelter shall He make for the ground of His people. ⁴⁴ Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hosea son of Nun.

⁶ An irrational man, he does not know, And a stupid one, he cannot understand this:" ⁷ The wicked bud like herbage, And all contrivers of lawlessness blossom, But only that they be exterminated until the future,

³⁶ Yet whoever misses me wrongs his soul; All who hate me love death.

¹¹ Secure is Moab from his youth, And at rest [is] he for his preserved things, And he has not been emptied out from vessel unto vessel, And into captivity he has not gone, Therefore has his taste remained in him, And his fragrance has not been changed." ¹² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And I have sent to him wanderers, And they have caused him to wander, And his vessels they empty out, And his bottles they dash in pieces."

¹⁶ Now He told them a parable, saying, "The country place of a certain rich man bears well." ¹⁷ And he reasoned in himself, saying, 'What shall I be doing, seeing that I have no where to gather my fruits?'" ¹⁸ And he said, 'This will I be doing: I will pull down my barns, and greater ones will I build, and I will gather there all my grain and my good things." ¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'" ²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'" ²¹ Thus is he who is hoarding for himself and is not rich for God."

¹⁹ Now a certain man was rich and he dressed in purple and cambric, daily making merry splendidly." ²⁰ Now there was a certain poor man named Lazarus, who had been cast at his portal, having ulcers, ²¹ and yearning to be satisfied from the scraps which are falling from the rich man's table. But the curs also, coming, licked his ulcers." ²² Now the poor man came to die and he is carried away by the messengers into Abraham's bosom. Now the rich man also died, and was entombed." ²³ And in the unseen, lifting up his eyes, existing in torments, he is seeing Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom." ²⁴ And he shouting, said, 'Father Abraham, be merciful to me, and send Lazarus that he should be dipping the tip of his finger in water and cooling my tongue, for I am pained in this flame.'" ²⁵ Now Abraham said, 'Child, be reminded that you got your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise evil things. Yet now here he is being consoled, yet you are in pain."

³⁶ He who is believing in the Son has life eonian, yet he who is stubborn as to the Son shall not be seeing life, but the indignation of God is remaining on him."

³⁸ Now My "just one by faith shall be living,and "If he should ever be shrinking, My soul is not delighting in him." ³⁹ Yet we are not of those shrinking back to destruction, but of faith for the procuring of the soul."

⁸ Now if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, consequently you are bastards and not sons."

²⁵ Beware! You should not be refusing Him Who is speaking! For if those escaped not, refusing the One apprizing on earth, much rather we, who are turning from the One from the heavens,

⁵ You luxuriate on the earth, and squander. You nourish your hearts as in a day of slaughter."

¹² Whatever man this is who is fearing Yahweh, He shall direct him in the way he should choose;" ¹³ His soul shall lodge in good, And his seed shall tenant the land."

¹³ O that My people were hearkening to Me, And Israel were walking in My ways!"

⁷ He shall not fear an evil report; His heart is established, trusting in Yahweh." ⁸ His heart is stalwart; he shall not fear, Since he shall see the fate of his foes."

²¹ My son, let them not steal away from your eyes:Preserve sagacity and foresight, ²² So that they become life to your soul And grace to your throat. ²³ Then you shall go your way in trust And your foot, it shall not strike harm." ²⁴ Whenever you lie down you should not be afraid; Now you have lain down, and your sleep has been congenial."

³² Now then, my sons, hearken to me; Happy are those who keep my ways." ³³ Hearken to my admonition, and be wise; Do not renounce it." ³⁴ Happy is the man who hearkens to me, Being alert at my doors day by day, Keeping watch at the jambs of my portals." ³⁵ For whoever finds me will find life And shall gain hold of benevolence from Yahweh.

¹¹ For by me your days shall increase, And years of life shall be added to you."

²⁶ In the fear of Yahweh lies a strong ground of trust, And it shall become a refuge for his sons."

³ It is formed to support the preservation of welfare, welfare that trusts in You."

¹⁸ O that you attended to My instructions! Then your welfare will become as a stream, and your righteousness as billows of the sea."

³ Stretch out your ear and go to Me; hear Me, and your soul shall live in good. And I will contract with you a covenant eonian, the kindnesses of David that are faithful."

⁵ While he is still speaking, lo! a luminous cloud overshadows them, and lo! a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delight. Hear Him!"

⁹ Now whenever you should be hearing battles and turbulences you may not be dismayed, for these things must occur first, but not immediately is the consummation."

¹⁹ By your endurance shall you be acquiring your souls.

²⁷ My sheep are hearing My voice, and I know them, and they are following Me." ²⁸ And I am giving them life eonian, and they should by no means be perishing for the eon, and no one shall be snatching them out of My hand." ²⁹ My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to be snatching them out of My Father's hand."

³⁵ What shall be separating us from the love of God in Christ Jesus? Affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ According as it is written that "On Thy account we are being put to death the whole day, We are reckoned as sheep for slaughter." ³⁷ Nay! in all these we are more than conquering through Him Who loves us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor messengers, nor sovereignties, nor the present, nor what is impending, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord."

⁵ who are garrisoned by the power of God, through faith, for salvation ready to be revealed in the last era,
