¹ Proverbs of Solomon:A wise son makes his father rejoice, Yet a stupid son is affliction to his mother." ² Treasures gained by wickedness shall not benefit, Yet righteousness shall rescue from death." ³ Yahweh shall not allow the soul of the righteous to hunger, Yet He shall thrust away the woeful schemes of the wicked." ⁴ A deceitful palm makes destitute, Yet an industrious hand shall enrich." ⁵ He who hoards food in the summer is a son of intelligence; He who is in a stupor in the harvest is a son of shame. ⁶ Blessings wreathe the head of the righteous, Yet violence is covering over the mouth of the wicked." ⁷ The memory of the righteous one is a blessing, Yet the name of the wicked shall rot away." ⁸ The one wise of heart is taking in instruction, Yet the one foolish of lips shall flounder." ⁹ He who walks with integrity walks in trust, Yet he who perverts his ways shall be imperiled." ¹⁰ He who winks the eye is making grief, And the one foolish of lips shall flounder." ¹¹ A fountain of life is the mouth of the righteous man, Yet violence covers the mouth of the wicked." ¹² Hatred, it rouses up quarrels, Yet love covers over all transgressions." ¹³ Wisdom is found on the lips of the understanding, Yet a club is for the body of him who has lack of heart wisdom." ¹⁴ Wise men, they store up knowledge, Yet the mouth of a foolish man brings dismay near." ¹⁵ The wealth of a rich man is his strong town; Their destitution is the dismay of the poor. ¹⁶ The wage of the righteous one leads to life, The income of the wicked one leads to sin." ¹⁷ He who keeps admonition is in the path to life, Yet he who forsakes reproof is led astray." ¹⁸ He who covers up hatred has false lips, And he who brings forth gossip, he is stupid." ¹⁹ In the multiplying of words, transgression does not halt, Yet he who keeps back his lips is intelligent." ²⁰ Choice silver is the tongue of the righteous one; The heart wisdom of the wicked is of little value. ²¹ The lips of the righteous, they shepherd many, Yet the foolish die from lack of heart wisdom." ²² The blessing of Yahweh, it enriches, And He shall not add grief to it." ²³ To the stupid one it is like sport to commit crime, Yet it is like venom to a man of comprehension." ²⁴ What the wicked one shrinks from, it shall come to him, And what the righteous yearn for shall be given." ²⁵ Like the passing sweeping whirlwind, the wicked one is not remaining, Yet the righteous one is founded for the eon." ²⁶ As vinegar to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, So is the slothful to those who send him." ²⁷ The fear of Yahweh shall add days, Yet the years of the wicked shall be shortened." ²⁸ The hope of the righteous ends in rejoicing, Yet the expectation of the wicked shall perish." ²⁹ A stronghold for the flawless one is the way of Yahweh, Yet a dismay to the contrivers of lawlessness." ³⁰ The righteous one shall not slip at all for the eon, Yet the wicked shall not tabernacle in the land." ³¹ The mouth of the righteous is producing wisdom, Yet the tongue of duplicity shall be cut off." ³² The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, Yet the mouth of the wicked is duplicity."

³² And he speaks three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;"

¹ The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:"

²⁰ A wise son rejoices his father, Yet a stupid man despises his mother."

²¹ One who begets a stupid child has affliction for himself, And a father of a decadent son cannot rejoice."

²⁵ A stupid son is vexation to his father And bitterness to her who bore him.

¹³ A stupid son is woe to his father, And a quarrelsome wife like a persistent leaking."

¹⁵ My son, if your heart is wise, My heart shall rejoice, even I;" ¹⁶ My kidneys shall be joyous When your lips speak upright words.

²⁴ The father of a righteous man shall exult, yea unto exultation; He who begets a wise man shall rejoice in him;" ²⁵ Your father and your mother shall rejoice; She who bore you shall exult.

¹ These also are proverbs of Solomon Which the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, transcribed:"

³ A man who loves wisdom rejoices his father, Yet he who associates with prostitutes destroys his wealth."

¹⁵ The club of correction gives wisdom, Yet a youth left alone puts his mother to shame."

¹⁹ Who knows if he shall be a wise or a frivolous man? Yet he shall have authority over all the fruit of my toil that I toiled, And in which I was wise under the sun; This too is vanity."

⁹ Yet furthermore, because the Assembler was wise, He still taught the people knowledge, And he listened and investigated And set in order many proverbs."

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches? ⁷ Surely it shall not ransom, yea ransom a man; Neither shall one pay to Elohim his sheltering ransom, ⁸ {For the ransom of his soul is too precious a price, And he shuns it for the eon{" ⁹ That he should live further, permanently, And not see the grave." ¹⁰ Yet he sees wise ones, even they die; The stupid one, together with the irrational one, they perish, And they leave their estate to others."

⁴ Wealth is no benefit in the day of rage, Yet righteousness shall rescue from death."

²⁸ In the path of righteousness is life, Yet the way of abhorrence leads to death."

⁶ The contriving together of treasures by a false tongue Is a vanity whisked away for those seeking death.

² to turn the poor aside from adjudication, and to pillage in judgment the humble of My people, for widows to become their loot, and orphans are they plundering." ³ Yet what will you do in the day of visitation, and in the tumult which shall come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and whither will you leave your glory?

¹⁹ Their silver into out-places they cast, And their gold impurity becomes. Their silver and their gold is not able to deliver them, In a day of the wrath of Yahweh, Their soul they do not satisfy, And their bowels they do not fill, For the stumbling-block of their iniquity it has been."

²⁷ Only, O king, may my counsel to you be seemly:Break off your sins by being just, and your depravities by being gracious to the humble, in case your days of ease should be lengthened."

¹⁸ Moreover, their silver and their gold, will not be able to rescue them in the day of the rage of Yahweh; and by the fire of His jealousy the entire land shall be devoured; for a finish, yea, a hustled one, shall He make of all dwelling in the land."

¹⁵ Now He said to them, "See and guard against all greed, for one's life is not in the superfluity of his possessions." ¹⁶ Now He told them a parable, saying, "The country place of a certain rich man bears well." ¹⁷ And he reasoned in himself, saying, 'What shall I be doing, seeing that I have no where to gather my fruits?'" ¹⁸ And he said, 'This will I be doing: I will pull down my barns, and greater ones will I build, and I will gather there all my grain and my good things." ¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'" ²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'" ²¹ Thus is he who is hoarding for himself and is not rich for God."

²² Now the poor man came to die and he is carried away by the messengers into Abraham's bosom. Now the rich man also died, and was entombed." ²³ And in the unseen, lifting up his eyes, existing in torments, he is seeing Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom."

⁵ Yet, in accord with your hardness and unrepentant heart you are hoarding for yourself indignation in the day of indignation and revelation of the just judgment of God,

²¹ that, even as Sin reigns in death, thus Grace also should be reigning through righteousness, for life eonian, through Jesus Christ, our Lord."

⁹ and may be found in Him, not having my righteousness, which is of law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is from God for faith:"

¹ Come now, you rich, lament, howling for your wretchedness which is coming on you! " ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become food for moths. ³ Your gold and silver corrode and their venom will be for a testimony against you, and the venom will be eating your flesh as fire. You hoard in the last days."

²⁰ In famine, He will ransom you from death, And in battle from the hands of the sword.

⁵ That the jubilation of the wicked is brief, And the rejoicing of the polluted lasts but a moment? ⁶ Even if his dignity ascends to the heavens, And his head touches the thick clouds, ⁷ He shall perish permanently like his own ordure; Those having seen him shall say, Where is he? ⁸ He shall fly away like a dream, and they shall not find him, For he shall be bolted away like a vision of the night.

²⁰ For he has not known ease from the craving of his belly; From his coveting, he has not tried to escape. ²¹ There was nothing surviving for him as food. Therefore his good state cannot hope to last. ²² When his affluence is full there shall be distress for him; Every means of misery shall come upon him.

²⁸ The deluge shall deport his house, Spilling over in the day of His anger.

¹⁴ You see, indeed You, the toil and vexation; You shall look to place it into Your hand. Unto You, the pauper shall entrust himself; You are the One helping the orphan.

¹⁹ To rescue their soul from death And to preserve them alive in famine.

⁹ Fear Yahweh, all His saints, For there is no lack to those fearing Him." ¹⁰ The sheltered lions, they are destitute, and they famish, But those seeking after Yahweh shall not lack any good."

³ Trust in Yahweh, and do good; Tabernacle in the land, and graze in faithfulness."

¹⁹ They shall not be ashamed in an evil season, And in days of famine, they shall be satisfied."

²⁵ I was a youth, and now I am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken Or his seed seeking bread."

¹⁰ The wicked one, he shall see and be vexed; He shall gnash his teeth and melt away. The yearning of the wicked shall perish."

³² The wicked man is tripped up by his evil, Yet the righteous one takes refuge in his integrity."

¹⁶ he shall tabernacle on the heights, fastnesses of crags are his impregnable retreat. His bread shall be bestowed. His water shall be assured."

⁶ Shall not these, all of them, take up a proverb against him, and mocking problems for him? And they will say:Woe to the one increasing what is not his! Till when? And to him making heavy his yoke with security!" ⁷ Will not those biting you rise in an instant, and those stirring you into a sweat awake, that you shall become robbed goods for them? ⁸ Seeing that you loot many nations, all the rest of the peoples will loot you because of human blood and the violence to the land, to the town and all dwelling in it."

³⁰ Now if the grass of the field, which is today, and tomorrow is cast into the stove, God thus is garbing; not much rather you, scant of faith? ³¹ You, then, should not be worrying, saying, 'What may we be eating?' or 'What may we be drinking?' or 'With what may we be clothed?'" ³² For for all these the nations are seeking. For aware is your heavenly Father that you need all of these. ³³ Yet seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, and these all shall be added to you."

²² Now He said to His disciples, "Therefore I am saying to you, Do not worry about the soul, what you may be eating, nor yet about your body, what you should be putting on, ²³ for the soul is more than nourishment and the body than apparel. ²⁴ Consider the ravens, that they are not sowing, neither are they reaping, for which there is no storeroom nor yet barn, and God is nurturing them. Of how much more consequence are you than the flying creatures!"

³¹ However, be seeking the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you."

⁵ May fondness for money not be your manner, being sufficed with what is present, for He has declared: Under no circumstances may I be lax regarding you, Neither by any means may I be forsaking you." ⁶ So that we have courage to say, "The Lord is my Helper, and I shall not be afraid of what man shall be doing to me!"

⁶ Go to the ant, O slothful one; See its ways and be wise;" ⁷ Note that there is no captain for it, Superintendent or ruler;" ⁸ Yet it is preparing its bread in summer; It hoards its food at harvest. ⁹ How long shall you lie down, O slothful one? When shall you rise from your sleep? ¹⁰ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ¹¹ And your destitution shall come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

²⁴ There is one who disperses yet is enhanced more, And another who keeps back more than what is upright yet ends only with a lack."

²⁴ The hand of the industrious shall rule, Yet an indolent man shall become tributary."

⁴ The slothful man yearns for a thing, and his soul finds it not, Yet the soul of the industrious is conferred with richness."

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts one down into stupor, So that the soul of the indolent man shall famish."

²⁴ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl, Yet he does not bring it back to his mouth."

⁴ In autumn the slothful man does not plow; In harvest time he shall be begging, but there will be nothing."

¹³ Do not love sleep lest you should become destitute; Unclose your eyes so as to be surfeited with bread.

⁵ The designs of the industrious lead surely to advantage, Yet all who rush come surely to want."

³⁰ I passed by the field of the slothful man, And by the vineyard of the man who lacked heart understanding, ³¹ And behold, all of it came up with sting nettles, Prickly acanthus covered its surface, And its barrier-wall of stones was pulled down." ³² Then I myself set my heart on what I was perceiving; I took admonition from what I saw: ³³ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

¹⁸ Because of slothfulness the house's framework shall sag, And because of laziness of hands, the house shall leak."

²⁷ Do not work for the food which is perishing, but for the food which is remaining for life eonian, which the Son of Mankind will be giving to you, for this One God, the Father, seals."

⁵⁸ So that, my beloved brethren, become settled, unmovable, superabounding in the work of the Lord always, being aware that your toil is not for naught in the Lord."

¹¹ Now we are yearning for each one of you to be displaying the same diligence toward the assurance of the expectation until the consummation, ¹² that you may not be becoming dull. Now be imitators of those who through faith and patience are enjoying the allotment of the promises.

⁵ Now for this same thing also, employing all diligence, in your faith supply virture, yet in virtue knowledge, ⁶ yet in knowledge self-control, yet in self-control endurance, yet in endurance devoutness, ⁷ yet in devoutness brotherly fondness, yet in brotherly fondness love." ⁸ For your possessing these and increasing is constituting you not idle nor yet unfruitful in the recognition of our Lord, Jesus Christ." ⁹ For he in whom these are not present is blind, closing his eyes, getting oblivious of the cleansing from the penalties of his sins of old." ¹⁰ Wherefore, rather, brethren, endeavor through ideal acts to confirm your calling and choice; for, doing these things you should under no circumstances be tripping at any time. "

⁶ Go to the ant, O slothful one; See its ways and be wise;"

⁸ Yet it is preparing its bread in summer; It hoards its food at harvest.

⁴ A wife of ability is her spouse's crown, Yet she who brings shame is as rottenness in his bones."

² An intelligent servant rules over a son who causes shame And is apportioned an allotment in the midst of the brothers.

²⁶ He who devastates his father and drives away his mother Is a son causing shame and abashment.

²⁵ Ants are a people not strong, Yet they prepare their bread in summer;"

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

² And all these blessings will come on you and overtake you in case you should hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim.

⁸ As the king was returning from the garden of the pavilion to the house of the wine feast, Haman was falling upon the couch on which Esther was. So the king shouted:Will he even molest the queen, with me in the house? As the word had come forth from the king's mouth, they hooded Haman's face.

¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate.

⁴² The upright see it, and they rejoice, Yet all iniquity, it will shut its mouth."

¹¹ A fountain of life is the mouth of the righteous man, Yet violence covers the mouth of the wicked."

²⁶ The populace shall revile him who withholds cereal grain, Yet blessing is on the head of him who retails."

²⁵ Yet for those who reprove, it shall be pleasant, And on them shall come the blessing of good."

²⁰ A faithful man shall have many blessings, Yet he who rushes to be rich shall not be held innocent."

¹⁹ Now we are aware that, whatever the law is saying, it is speaking to those under the law, that every mouth may be barred, and the entire world may become subject to the just verdict of God,

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshes me and was not ashamed of my chain, ¹⁷ but, coming to be in Rome, he seeks me diligently and found me." ¹⁸ May the Lord grant to him to be finding mercy from the Lord in that day! And how much he serves in Ephesus you know quite well.

³⁶ and to his son I give one tribe, for there being a lamp to David My servant all the days before Me in Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen to Myself to put My name there.

³⁴ And I have covered over this city, To save it, for Mine own sake, And for the sake of David My servant..

¹⁶ and they bury him in the city of David, with the kings, for he has done good in Israel, and with Elohim, and his house.

¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, And he has no name on the face of the open place.

²³ One shall slap his palms at him And hiss him away from his place.

⁵ You rebuke the nations; You destroy the wicked; You wipe out their name for the eon and further. ⁶ As for the enemy, they will come to end like permanent deserts, And You will eliminate their cities; their remembrance will perish with them.

¹³ May his posterity be cut off; In the generation following, may his name be wiped out."

¹⁵ Let these be in front of Yahweh continually, And let their family's remembrance be cut off from the earth,

⁶ Truly he shall not slip for the eon; The righteous one shall become an eonian remembrance.

¹⁰ In such a case I saw the wicked entombed, Those who used to come and go from the holy place And were lauded in the city where they had done such things. This too is vanity."

¹³ The hope of Israel [is] Yahweh, All forsaking You are ashamed, And `My apostates' in the earth are written, For they have forsaken Yahweh, A fountain of living waters."

⁹ Now verily I am saying to you, Wheresoever this evangel may be heralded in the whole world, that also which she does shall be spoken of for a memorial of her."

⁴⁸ For He looks on the humiliation of His slave. For lo! from now on all generations will count me happy,

³⁴ Make me understand, and I will preserve Your law And keep it with all my heart."

⁵ The wise one may also hear and add to his education, And the man of understanding may acquire skills--"

⁹ Give reproof to a wise man, and he shall be wiser still; Inform a righteous man, and he shall add to his education."

¹⁰ He who winks the eye is making grief, And the one foolish of lips shall flounder."

¹ He who loves admonition loves knowledge, Yet he who hates reproof is irrational."

¹³ By the transgression of his lips the evil one is entrapped, Yet the righteous one shall come forth from distress."

³ He who constricts his mouth guards his soul; He who distends his lips, it is catastrophe for him."

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent man is to give consideration to his way, Yet the folly of the stupid is self-deceit."

²³ In all grievous labor there is advantage, Yet mere speech of the lips leads only to want."

⁶ The lips of a stupid man bring him into contention, And his mouth calls for beatings." ⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul."

¹² Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, Yet the lips of a stupid man swallow him up."

²⁴ Everyone, then, who is hearing these sayings of Mine and is doing them shall be likened to a prudent man who builds his house on the rock." ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blow and they lunge at that house, and it does not fall, for it had been founded on the rock."

¹³ Who is wise and an adept among you? Let him show his works by an ideal behavior in meekness of wisdom.

⁴ Even though I should walk in the ravine of blackest shadow, I shall not fear evil, For You are with me; Your club and Your staff, they are comforting me."

²¹ May integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I expect You."

¹¹ As for me, I shall walk in my integrity. Ransom me, and be gracious to me." ¹² My foot has stood on level ground; In the assemblies, I shall bless You, O Yahweh."

¹¹ For Sun and Shield is Yahweh Elohim; Grace and glory does Yahweh bestow; He does not withhold good from those walking with integrity.

²³ Then you shall go your way in trust And your foot, it shall not strike harm."

²⁰ A perverse heart does not find good, And he who is devious in his tongue falls into evil."

¹⁸ He who walks flawlessly shall be kept in safety, Yet he whose ways are perverse shall fall into a pit."

¹⁵ He who goes in righteousness, and speaks equities, who rejects the gain of extortions, who shakes his palms from upholding a bribe, who contracts his ear from hearkening to blood plans, and restrains his eyes from seeing evil--" ¹⁶ he shall tabernacle on the heights, fastnesses of crags are his impregnable retreat. His bread shall be bestowed. His water shall be assured."

²⁶ Do not, then, be afraid of them, for nothing is covered, which shall not be revealed, and hidden which shall not be known."

¹ At which, a throng of ten thousand being assembled so as to be trampling one another, He begins to be saying to His disciples first, "Take heed to yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." ² Now nothing is covered up which shall not be revealed, and hidden which shall not be known,

⁵ So that, be not judging anything before the season, till the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God."

¹³ And the rest of the Jews also play the hypocrite with him, so that Barnabas also was led away with their hypocrisy." ¹⁴ But when I perceived that they are not correct in their attitude toward the truth of the evangel, I said to Cephas in front of all, "If you, being inherently a Jew, are living as the nations, and not as the Jews, how are you compelling the nations to be judaizing?

²⁵ Similarly the ideal acts also are taken for granted, and those having it otherwise can not be hid."

¹² Why does your heart take you away, And why do your eyes scowl,

¹⁹ Let them not rejoice over me, My enemies who are false; Nor let them wink the eye, Who are hating me gratuitously."

¹³ Who winks with his eyes, who declares with his feet, Who signals with his fingers;"

⁸ The one wise of heart is taking in instruction, Yet the one foolish of lips shall flounder."

²¹ Death and life lie in the hand of the tongue, And they who love to use it must eat its fruit."

¹⁰ Therefore, if I should be coming, I shall be reminding him of his acts which he is doing, with wicked words gossiping about us, and not being sufficed with these, neither is he receiving the brethren, and those who are intending to he is forbidding, and is casting them out of the ecclesia."

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous one, it soliloquizes wisdom, And his tongue, it speaks right judgment." ³¹ The law of his Elohim is in his heart And his movement is not tottering.

⁶ Blessings wreathe the head of the righteous, Yet violence is covering over the mouth of the wicked."

²⁰ Choice silver is the tongue of the righteous one; The heart wisdom of the wicked is of little value. ²¹ The lips of the righteous, they shepherd many, Yet the foolish die from lack of heart wisdom."

³² The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, Yet the mouth of the wicked is duplicity."

¹⁴ The law of the wise man is a fountain of life, To keep one away from the traps of death."

⁷ The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, Yet not so the heart of the stupid."

²² Intelligence is a fountain of life to its possessors, And folly is the flogging of the foolish." ²³ The heart of a wise man gives his mouth intelligence, And to his lips it adds influence." ²⁴ Pleasant sayings are honey of the comb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

⁴ The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; The fountain of wisdom is a watercourse bubbling forth.

¹⁵ Gold there is and many rubies, Yet a most precious jewel is lips speaking knowledge."

¹² Words from the mouth of a wise man are gracious, Yet the lips of a stupid man swallow him up." ¹³ At the start the words of his mouth are frivolity, And at last from his mouth comes evil raving." ¹⁴ The frivolous man multiplies words; But a man does not know what shall be, And what shall come after him, who can tell him?

³⁴ Progeny of vipers! How can you be speaking what is good, being wicked? For out of the superabundance of the heart the mouth is speaking." ³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure is extracting good things; and the wicked man out of his wicked treasure is extracting wicked things. ³⁶ Now I am saying to you that, for every idle declaration which men shall be speaking, they shall be rendering an account concerning it in the day of judging." ³⁷ For by your words shall you be justified, and by your words shall you be convicted."

²⁹ Let no tainted word at all be issuing out of your mouth, but if any is good toward needful edification, that it may be giving grace to those hearing."

⁵ Thus the tongue, also, is a little member and is grandiloquent. Lo! What amount of fire is kindling what amount of material!" ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna." ⁷ For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature." ⁸ Yet the tongue can no man tame - a turbulent evil, distended with death-carrying venom."

¹⁸ A venomous man stirs up quarrels, Yet one slow to anger quietens a contention."

²⁷ A decadent man digs a pit of evil, And on his lips is speech like searing fire."

⁹ He who covers a transgression seeks love, Yet he who repeats the matter parts one from his mentor."

²⁵ A pretentious soul stirs up a quarrel, Yet he who trusts in Yahweh shall be conferred with richness."

²² An angry man stirs up a quarrel, And a furious person works much transgression."

⁴ Love is patient, is kind. Love is not jealous. Love is not bragging, is not puffed up, ⁵ is not indecent, is not self-seeking, is not incensed, is not taking account of evil, ⁶ is not rejoicing in injustice, yet is rejoicing together with the truth, ⁷ is forgoing all, is believing all, is expecting all, is enduring all."

¹ Whence are the battles and whence the fightings among you? Are they not hence: from your gratifications warring in your members?

²⁰ let him know that he who turns back a sinner out of the deception of his way will be saving his soul from death and will be covering a multitude of sins.

⁸ before all, having earnest love among yourselves, for love is covering a multitude of sins."

¹² Yahweh said to Moses: Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locust that it may ascend over the land of Egypt and devour all the herbage of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail has let remain.

⁹ You must not become like a horse, Like a mule in which there is no understanding, Whose scruff must be curbed with bit and bridle, Or it would never come near to you."

³² But he who commits adultery with another's wife has lack of heart wisdom; He is causing ruin to his soul who does it.

²² Suddenly he was going after her, Like a bull that comes to the slaughter, Like a calf to the bonds of foolish creatures,

¹⁰ He who winks the eye is making grief, And the one foolish of lips shall flounder." ¹¹ A fountain of life is the mouth of the righteous man, Yet violence covers the mouth of the wicked."

²¹ The lips of the righteous, they shepherd many, Yet the foolish die from lack of heart wisdom."

³¹ The mouth of the righteous is producing wisdom, Yet the tongue of duplicity shall be cut off."

²³ Rejoicing comes to a man in the apt response of his mouth, And a word in its season, how good!"

¹⁰ A rebuke settles deeper into one of understanding Than a hundred smitings into a stupid man.

²⁹ Judgments are prepared for mockers And beatings for the body of the stupid.

³ A whip for a horse, a bit for a donkey, And a club for the body of the stupid."

²² Though you bray the fool in a mortar, In the midst of the grist with a pestle, His folly shall not go away from him."

⁴ My Lord Yahweh gives me the tongue of the taught, to know in season to counsel with a word. And He is rousing morning by morning, and He is rousing my ear to hear as the taught."

²² And all testified of Him and marveled at the gracious words which are issuing out of His mouth. And they said, "Is not this Joseph's son?

¹ He shall seek for a pretext who wishes to be parted from friends; Against all sagacity shall he rail.

⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul."

¹⁵ The heart of one who understands acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."

⁸ He who acquires heart understanding loves his soul; He who guards comprehension will find good.

²³ He who guards his mouth and his tongue Keeps his soul from distresses.

³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure is extracting good things; and the wicked man out of his wicked treasure is extracting wicked things.

⁴⁴ Like is the kingdom of the heavens to a treasure hidden in the field, finding which, a man hides it, and, in his joy, is going away, and is selling all, whatever he has, and is buying that field."

⁵² Now He said to them, "Therefore every scribe made a disciple in the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a householder, who is extracting out of his treasure things new and old."

⁶ for the God Who says that, out of darkness light shall be shining, is He Who shines in our hearts, with a view to the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." ⁷ Now we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the transcendence of the power may be of God and not of us."

²⁴ If I have made gold my confidence, And I have said to pure gold:My trust, ²⁵ If I have rejoiced that my estate is vast And that my hand has found abundance,

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches?

⁷ Here is the master who is not making Elohim his stronghold, And is trusting in the vastness of his riches; He is strengthening himself by his works of woe."

²⁰ The destitute one is hated even by his associate, And those in friendship with the rich man are many;"

¹¹ The rich man's wealth is his strong town, And in his fancy it is like an impregnable wall."

⁷ All the brothers of a destitute man hate him; How much more do his associates keep far from him. He who pursues sayings finds they do not avail.

²² Do not pillage the poor, for he is poor, And do not crush the humble one in the gate." ²³ For Yahweh Himself shall contend their contention, And He will defraud their defrauders of their soul."

¹² For in the shadow of wisdom it is as in the shadow of silver, And the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom keeps alive those possessing it."

²³ Thus said Yahweh:Let not the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Let not the rich boast himself in his riches,

¹ Woe to devisers of lawlessness and contrivers of evil on their beds! In the light of the morning are they executing it, for it is at the disposal of their hand." ² And they covet fields and snatch them, and houses, and bear them away, and they extort the master and his house, the man and his allotment."

²⁴ Now the disciples were awe-struck at His words. Yet Jesus, again answering, is saying to them, "Children, how squeamish it is for those who have confidence in money to be entering into the kingdom of God!"

¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'"

¹⁷ Those who are rich in the current eon be charging not to be haughty, nor yet to rely on the dubiousness of riches, but on God, Who is tendering us all things richly for our enjoyment;"

¹⁸ The wicked one makes false wages, Yet he who sows righteousness reaps faithful hire." ¹⁹ To acquire righteousness leads to life, Yet he who pursues evil goes to his death."

³⁰ The fruit of a righteous man is a tree of life, And he who procures souls is wise."

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that good is his portion, for the fruit of their actions are they eating." ¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

¹⁷ Thus every good tree ideal fruit is producing, yet the rotten tree noxious fruit is producing." ¹⁸ A good tree can not bear noxious fruit, neither is a rotten tree producing ideal fruit."

³³ Either make the tree ideal and its fruit ideal, or make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten, for by its fruit the tree is known." ³⁴ Progeny of vipers! How can you be speaking what is good, being wicked? For out of the superabundance of the heart the mouth is speaking."

¹⁹ For out of the heart are coming wicked reasonings, murders, adulteries, prostitutions, thefts, false testimonies, calumnies."

²³ For the ration of Sin is death, yet the gracious gift of God is life eonian, in Christ Jesus, our Lord."

⁷ Be not decived, God is not to be sneered at, for whatsoever a man may be sowing, this shall he be reaping also, ⁸ for he who is sowing for his own flesh, from the flesh shall be reaping corruption, yet he who is sowing for the spirit, from the spirit shall be reaping life eonian." ⁹ Now we may not be despondent in ideal doing, for in due season we shall be reaping, if we do not faint."

¹⁷ and their word will spread as gangrene, of whom are Hymeneus and Philetus, ¹⁸ who swerve as to truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and are subverting the faith of some."

¹³ Yet wicked men and swindlers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived."

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, to be forgetting your work and the love which you display for His name when you serve the saints, and are serving."

¹⁶ And it comes to pass, in his speaking unto him, that he said to him, `For a counsellor to the king have we appointed you? cease for you; why do they smite you?' And the prophet ceases, and said, `I have known that Elohim has counselled to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not hearkened to my counsel..

²⁵ And you renounced all my counsel, And you would not heed my reproof, ²⁶ Indeed, I myself shall ridicule you in your calamity; I shall deride when alarm comes upon you,

³⁰ They would not heed my counsel, They spurned all my correction,

¹ My son, do not forget my law, And let your heart preserve my instructions;" ² For length of days and years of life And peace shall they add to you.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those holding fast to her, And those upholding her will be happy."

⁴ He directed me and said to me:May your heart uphold my word; Keep my instruction and live;

¹³ Hold fast to admonition; do not let your hold relax; Preserve her, for she is your life."

¹² And you say, How I have hated discipline, And my heart has spurned correction!"

²³ For instruction is a lamp, and law is a light, And the reproofs of discipline are the way to life,

¹⁰ Admonition is evil to one who forsakes the path; He who hates reproof, he shall die."

¹⁷ Stretch out your ear and hear the words of the wise, And let your heart be set on my knowledge." ¹⁸ For it will be pleasant when you keep them in your inner being, When they are established together on your lips." ¹⁹ That your trust may come to be in Yahweh, I make them known to you today, indeed you."

¹ The man receiving reproofs who is still stiff necked Shall be broken in an instant, and there will be no healing."

⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin, And do not protest before the temple messenger that it was an error. Why should the One, Elohim, be wrathful at your voice And bring harm to the work of your hands?

²⁴ Everyone, then, who is hearing these sayings of Mine and is doing them shall be likened to a prudent man who builds his house on the rock." ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blow and they lunge at that house, and it does not fall, for it had been founded on the rock." ²⁶ And everyone who is hearing these sayings of Mine and not doing them shall be likened to a stupid man who builds his house on sand." ²⁷ And the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blow and they dash against that house, and it falls: and the fall of it was great."

²⁸ Yet He said, "Indeed then, happy are those who are hearing the word of God and maintaining it!"

¹ Therefore we must more exceedingly be heeding what is being heard, lest at some time we may be drifting by."

²⁵ Beware! You should not be refusing Him Who is speaking! For if those escaped not, refusing the One apprizing on earth, much rather we, who are turning from the One from the heavens,

⁵ Now for this same thing also, employing all diligence, in your faith supply virture, yet in virtue knowledge, ⁶ yet in knowledge self-control, yet in self-control endurance, yet in endurance devoutness, ⁷ yet in devoutness brotherly fondness, yet in brotherly fondness love." ⁸ For your possessing these and increasing is constituting you not idle nor yet unfruitful in the recognition of our Lord, Jesus Christ." ⁹ For he in whom these are not present is blind, closing his eyes, getting oblivious of the cleansing from the penalties of his sins of old." ¹⁰ Wherefore, rather, brethren, endeavor through ideal acts to confirm your calling and choice; for, doing these things you should under no circumstances be tripping at any time. " ¹¹ For thus will be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eonian kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

²¹ and Saul said, `I give her to him, and she is to him for a snare, and the hand of the Philistines is on him;' and Saul said unto David, `By the second--you do become my son-in-law to-day.. ²² And Saul commands his servants, `Speak unto David gently, saying, Lo, the king has delighted in you, and all his servants have loved you, and now, be son-in-law to the king..

²⁹ and Saul adds to be afraid of the presence of David yet; and Saul is an enemy with David all the days.

²⁷ And Abner turns back to Hebron, and Joab turns him aside unto the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly, and smites him there in the fifth [rib] --and he dies--for the blood of Asahel his brother.

⁸ And David said to Uriah, `Go down to your house, and wash your feet;' and Uriah goes out of the king's house, and there goes out after him a gift from the king, <sup>9</sup> and Uriah lies down at the opening of the king's house, with all the servants of his lord, and has not gone down unto his house. <sup>10</sup> And they declare to David, saying, `Uriah has not gone down unto his house;' and David said unto Uriah, `Have you not come from a journey? wherefore have you not gone down unto your house?. <sup>11</sup> And Uriah said unto David, `The ark, and Israel, and Judah, are abiding in booths, and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, on the face of the field are encamping; and I--I go in unto my house to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife! --your life, and the life of your soul--if I do this thing.. ¹² And David said unto Uriah, `Abide in this [place] also to-day, and to-morrow I send you away;' and Uriah abides in Jerusalem, on that day, and on the morrow, <sup>13</sup> and David calls for him, and he eats before him, and drinks, and he causes him to drink, and he goes out in the evening to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, and unto his house he has not gone down. <sup>14</sup> And it comes to pass in the morning, that David writes a letter unto Joab, and sends by the hand of Uriah;" <sup>15</sup> and he writes in the letter, saying, `Place you Uriah over-against the front of the severest battle, and you have turned back from after him, and he has been smitten, and has died..

²³ And it comes to pass, after two years of days, that Absalom has shearers in Baal-Hazor, which [is] with Ephraim, and Absalom calls for all the sons of the king. ²⁴ And Absalom comes unto the king, and said, `Lo, I pray you, your servant has shearers, let the king go, I pray you, and his servants, with your servant.. <sup>25</sup> And the king said unto Absalom, `Nay, my son, let us not all go, I pray you, and we are not too heavy on you;' and he presses on him, and he has not been willing to go, and he blesses him. ²⁶ And Absalom said, `If not--let, I pray you, Amnon my brother go with us;' and the king said to him, `Why does he go with you?. ²⁷ and Absalom urges on him, and he sends with him Amnon, and all the sons of the king. ²⁸ And Absalom commands his young men, saying, `See, I pray you, when the heart of Amnon [is] glad with wine, and I have said unto you, Smite Amnon, that you have put him to death; fear not; is it not because I have commanded you? be strong, yea, become sons of valor.. ²⁹ And the young men of Absalom do to Amnon as Absalom commanded, and rise do all the sons of the king, and they ride, each on his mule, and flee.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, `Are you [in] peace, my brother?' and the right hand of Joab lays hold on the beard of Amasa to give a kiss to him;" ¹⁰ and Amasa has not been watchful of the sword that [is] in the hand of Joab, and he smites him with it unto the fifth [rib], and sheds out his bowels to the earth, and he has not repeated [it] to him, and he dies; and Joab and Abishai his brother have pursued after Sheba son of Bichri.

⁹ For there is nothing established in their mouth; Within them are woes; A sepulcher opened is their throat; With their tongue they deal slickly.

² They speak hypocrisy, each one with his associate; With a lip of slick words, with a double-minded heart they speak.

³ He has not vilified with his tongue; He has done no evil to his associate And has borne no reproach against the one near him.

²⁰ You speak shame against your brother; You give out scandal against your mother's son.

²¹ Words from his mouth are slicker than clotted cream, Yet an attack is planned in his heart; His words are more soothing than oil, Yet they are unloosed swords!"

⁵ The one slandering his associate in secret, I shall efface him. The haughty of eyes and inflated of heart, I shall not endure him."

²⁴ With his lips, one who hates dissembles, Yet within him he firmly sets deceit;" ²⁵ When his voice sounds generous, do not believe him, For seven abhorrences are in his heart." ²⁶ One's hatred can be covered by guile, But his evil shall be revealed in the assembly."

²⁰ And scrutinizing Him, they dispatch eavesdroppers, feigning themselves to be just, that they may get hold of a word of His, so as to give Him up to the sovereignty and the jurisdiction of the governor." ²¹ And they inquire of Him, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are saying and teaching correctly, and are not taking the surface view, but of a truth the way of God you are teaching."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ I said, I will keep my ways from sinning with my tongue; I will place a muzzle over my mouth, As long as anyone wicked is in front of me."

²⁷ One who knows knowledge keeps back on his sayings, And the man of comprehension is cool of spirit." ²⁸ Even a fool who keeps silence is reckoned wise; He who closes up his lips has understanding.

³ For as dreams come with much responsibility, So the voice of a stupid person comes with many words."

¹⁹ Now you are aware, my beloved brethren! Yet let every man be swift to hear, tardy to speak, tardy to anger,

² For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also."

⁵ And seeing is Yahweh Elohim that much is the evil of humanity in the earth, and every form of the devices of its heart is but evil all its days.

²¹ And smelling is Yahweh Elohim a restful smell. And saying is Yahweh Elohim to His heart, "Not any more will I slight further the ground for the sake of humanity, for the form of the human heart is evil from its youth. Neither again will I smite further all living flesh, as I have done.

¹⁹ My fruit is better than fine gold, even more than glittering gold, And my yield is more than choice silver."

¹⁸ There is talk that is like stabbings of a sword, Yet the tongue of the wise is healing."

⁴ A healing tongue is a tree of life, Yet words of subversion in it are a breaking of the spirit."

¹³ Lips of righteousness win the benevolence of a grand king, And he loves the one who speaks upright words."

⁷ For as one who calculates within his soul, so is he; Eat and drink, he says to you, Yet his heart is by no means with you."

¹¹ Apricots of gold in pictures of silver Is a word aptly spoken. ¹² A pendant of gold and an eardrop of certified gold Is the reproof of a wise man upon a hearkening ear.

⁹ Crooked [is] the heart above all things, And it [is] incurable--who does know it?

³⁴ Progeny of vipers! How can you be speaking what is good, being wicked? For out of the superabundance of the heart the mouth is speaking." ³⁵ The good man out of his good treasure is extracting good things; and the wicked man out of his wicked treasure is extracting wicked things.

³ Behold, you have disciplined many, And you always fortified the slacking hands. ⁴ Your declarations raised the one stumbling, And you made the bowing knees resolute.

¹² From the instruction of His lips I do not remove myself; I have secluded in my bosom the sayings of His mouth.

²¹ Noblemen hearkened to me, and they waited; They would remain silent for my counsel. ²² After my speech they would not alter it, And my declaration dropped firmly on them.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous one, it soliloquizes wisdom, And his tongue, it speaks right judgment."

²⁹ Because they hated knowledge And would not choose the fear of Yahweh,

³¹ Thus they shall eat of the fruit of their way, And they shall be surfeited with the results of their counsels."

²³ He himself shall die in his lack of discipline, And in his great folly he shall expire."

¹⁶ Why then should the price be in the hand of a stupid man To acquire wisdom, since he has no heart understanding?

⁹ Yet furthermore, because the Assembler was wise, He still taught the people knowledge, And he listened and investigated And set in order many proverbs." ¹⁰ The Assembler sought to find words of delight, And what was written is uprightness and words of truth."

¹⁵ And I have given to you shepherds According to Mine own heart, And they have fed you with knowledge and understanding."

¹⁶ Your words have been found, and I eat them, And Your word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Your name is called on me, O Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts."

⁶ My people shall be stilled because of failing knowledge, seeing that you reject knowledge. Then I am rejecting you from being a priest for Me, and as you are forgetting the law of your Elohim, I will forget your sons--even I."

¹⁹ At everyone hearing the word of the kingdom and not understanding, coming is the wicked one and snatching what has been sown in his heart. This is he who is being sown beside the road."

¹⁹ Now this is the judging: that the light has come into the world, and men love the darkness rather than the light, for their acts were wicked." ²⁰ For everyone who is committing bad things is hating the light and is not coming to the light, lest his acts may be exposed."

¹⁵ When, then, they lunch, Jesus is saying to Simon Peter, "Simon of John, are you loving Me more than these?He is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou art aware that I am fond of Thee!He is saying to him, "Graze My lambkins!" ¹⁶ He is saying to him again a second time, "Simon of John, are you loving Me?He is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou art aware that I am fond of Thee!He is saying to him, "Shepherd My sheep!" ¹⁷ He is saying to him the third time, "Simon of John, are you fond of Me?Peter was sorry that He said to him the third time "Are you fond of Me?and he is saying to Him, "Lord, Thou art aware of all things! Thou knowest that I am fond of Thee.And Jesus is saying to him, "Graze My little sheep!"

²⁸ And according as they do not test God, to have Him in recognition, God gives them over to a disqualified mind, to do that which is not befitting,

² Shepherd the flocklet of God among you, supervising, not of compulsion, but voluntarily, according to God; nor yet avariciously, but eagerly;"

² And make you will I into a great nation, and bless you will I and make your name great, and become must you a blessing.

² And Abram is very heavy in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

²³ If it be more than a thread or even a sandal lacing, or if taking am I from anything which is yours, then will you not say, `I enrich Abram'?

³⁵ And Yahweh has blessed my lord exceedingly, and he is growing great, and He is giving to him a flock and a herd and silver and gold and servants and maids and camels and asses.

¹² And sowing is Isaac in that land and is finding in that year a hundredfold of barley. And blessing him is Yahweh.

¹⁷ Guard yourself lest you say in your heart:My vigor and the staunchness of my hand make for me this great estate. ¹⁸ Yet you will remember Yahweh your Elohim, for He is the One giving to you the vigor to make this estate, that He may confirm His covenant that He had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as in this day.

¹⁸ and surely you have kept from the devoted thing, lest you devote [yourselves], and have taken from the devoted thing, and have made the camp of Israel become a devoted thing, and have troubled it;"

¹ And the sons of Israel commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, takes of the devoted thing, and the anger of Yahweh burns against the sons of Israel. ² And Joshua sends men from Jericho to Ai, which [is] near Beth-Aven, on the east of Bethel, and speaks unto them, saying, `Go up and spy the land;' and the men go up and spy Ai, <sup>3</sup> and they turn back unto Joshua, and say unto him, `Let not all the people go up; let about two thousand men, or about three thousand men, go up, and they smite Ai; cause not all the people to labor thither; for they [are] few.. ⁴ And there go up of the people thither about three thousand men, and they flee before the men of Ai, ⁵ and the men of Ai smite of them about thirty and six men, and pursue them before the gate unto Shebarim, and they smite them in Morad; and the heart of the people is melted, and becomes water. ⁶ And Joshua rends his garments, and falls on his face to the earth before the ark of Yahweh till the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they cause dust to go up on their head. ⁷ And Joshua said, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, why have You at all caused this people to pass over the Jordan, to give us into the hand of the Amorite to destroy us? --and oh that we had been willing--and we dwell beyond the Jordan!" <sup>8</sup> Oh, Lord, what do I say, after that Israel has turned the neck before its enemies? <sup>9</sup> and the Canaanite and all the inhabitants of the land do hear, and have come round against us, and cut off our name out of the earth; and what do You do for Your great name?. <sup>10</sup> And Yahweh said unto Joshua, `Rise for you, why [is] this? --you [are] falling on your face? ¹¹ Israel has sinned, and also they have transgressed My covenant which I commanded them, and also taken of the devoted thing, and also stolen, and also deceived, and also put [it] among their vessels, ¹² and the sons of Israel have not been able to stand before their enemies; the neck they turn before their enemies, for they have become a devoted thing; I add not to be with you--if you destroy not the devoted thing out of your midst. ¹³ `Rise, sanctify the people, and you have said, Sanctify yourselves for to-morrow; for thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, A devoted thing [is] in your midst, O Israel, you are not able to stand before your enemies till your turning aside of the devoted thing out of your midst;" <sup>14</sup> and you have been brought near in the morning by your tribes, and it has been, the tribe which Yahweh does capture does draw near by families, and the family which Yahweh does capture does draw near by households, and the household which Yahweh does capture does draw near by men;" <sup>15</sup> and it has been, he who is captured with the devoted thing is burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Yahweh, and because he has done folly in Israel.. <sup>16</sup> And Joshua rises early in the morning, and brings Israel near by its tribes, and the tribe of Judah is captured;" <sup>17</sup> and he brings near the family of Judah, and he captures the family of the Zarhite; and he brings near the family of the Zarhite by men, and Zabdi is captured;" <sup>18</sup> and he brings near his household by men, and Achan--son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah--is captured. <sup>19</sup> And Joshua said unto Achan, `My son, put, I pray you, honor on Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, and give to Him thanks, and declare, I pray you, to me, what you have done--hide not from me.. ²⁰ And Achan answers Joshua, and said, `Truly I have sinned against Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, and thus and thus I have done;" <sup>21</sup> and I see among the spoil a goodly robe of Shinar, and two hundred shekels of silver, and one wedge of gold, whose weight [is] fifty shekels, and I desire them, and take them; and lo, they [are] hid in the earth, in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.. <sup>22</sup> And Joshua sends messengers, and they run unto the tent, and lo, it is hidden in his tent, and the silver under it;" <sup>23</sup> and they take them out of the midst of the tent, and bring them in unto Joshua, and unto all the sons of Israel, and pour them out before Yahweh. <sup>24</sup> And Joshua takes Achan son of Zerah, and the silver, and the robe, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his ox, and his ass, and his flock, and his tent, and all that he has, and all Israel with him, and they cause them to go up the valley of Achor. <sup>25</sup> And Joshua said, `What! you have troubled us! --Yahweh does trouble you this day;' and all Israel cast stones at him, and they burn them with fire, and they stone them with stones, ²⁶ and they raise up over him a great heap of stones unto this day, and Yahweh turns back from the heat of His anger, therefore has [one] called the name of that place `Valley of Achor' till this day.

⁷ Yahweh dispossesses, and He makes rich, He makes low, yea, He makes high. ⁸ He raises from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He lifts up the needy, To cause [them] to sit with nobles, Yea, a throne of honor He does cause them to inherit, For to Yahweh [are] the fixtures of earth, And He sets on them the habitable world.

¹⁹ and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Have you murdered, and also possessed? and you have spoken unto him, saying, Thus said Yahweh, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, do the dogs lick your blood, even your..

²⁶ And he said unto him, `My heart went not when the man turned from off his chariot to meet you; is it a time to take silver, and to take garments, and olives, and vines, and flock, and herd, and men-servants, and maid-servants? ²⁷ yea, the leprosy of Naaman does cleave to you, and to your seed, --to the eon;' and he goes out from before him--leprous as snow.

⁸ For what expectation can the polluted have when he is clipped off, When Eloah eases away his soul? ⁹ Shall El hearken to his cry When distress comes upon him? ¹⁰ Would he find pleasure in Him Who Suffices? Would he call to Eloah on every occasion? ¹¹ I shall direct back to you these matters about the hand of El; What is concerning Him Who Suffices I shall not suppress. ¹² Behold, all of you have perceived this yourselves, Then why are you vain with this vanity? ¹³ This is the portion of a wicked person from El And the allotment terrifiers procure from Him Who Suffices. ¹⁴ However many are his sons, for them is the sword, And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. ¹⁵ With the death plague they shall entomb his survivors, And his widows shall not lament. ¹⁶ If he piles up silver like soil And makes ready clothing like clay, ¹⁷ He shall make it ready, yet the righteous one shall put it on, And the innocent one shall apportion the silver. ¹⁸ He builds his house like a moth's cocoon, And like a booth that a field-keeper makes. ¹⁹ He shall lie down rich, yet he may not do so again; When he uncloses his eyes it shall not be there. ²⁰ Decadent things shall overtake him by day; A whirlwind shall steal him away at night. ²¹ The east wind shall carry him off so that he is gone, And it shall toss him away in a tempest from his place. ²² One shall fling stones against him and not spare As he runs away, yea away from his hand. ²³ One shall slap his palms at him And hiss him away from his place.

²² For those being blessed by Him shall tenant the land, Yet those being maledicted by Him shall be cut off."

³⁸ Then He shall bless them, and they shall increase exceedingly, And He shall not let their domestic beasts decrease."

⁷ Raising the poor from the soil, He exalts the needy from the ash heaps, ⁸ Giving a seat among the patrons, Among the patrons of his people,

²¹ An allotment rashly gained at first Shall not be blessed at last.

²² A man who is stingy of eye is rash to get wealth, Yet he does not know that want shall come to him."

⁶ Shall not these, all of them, take up a proverb against him, and mocking problems for him? And they will say:Woe to the one increasing what is not his! Till when? And to him making heavy his yoke with security!" ⁷ Will not those biting you rise in an instant, and those stirring you into a sweat awake, that you shall become robbed goods for them? ⁸ Seeing that you loot many nations, all the rest of the peoples will loot you because of human blood and the violence to the land, to the town and all dwelling in it." ⁹ Woe to him gaining an evil gain for his house in order to place his nest in the height, to be rescued from the clutch of evil!" ¹⁰ You counsel shame for your house to cut away many peoples, and are sinning against your soul, ¹¹ for the stone from the sidewall shall cry out, and the knot from the timber shall answer it." ¹² Woe to him who is building a city by blood, and establishes a town by iniquity!"

⁴ I will bring it forth, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), and it enters into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears in My name falsely, and it lodges in the midst of his house, and it consumes it and its timbers and its stones."

¹ Come now, you rich, lament, howling for your wretchedness which is coming on you! " ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become food for moths. ³ Your gold and silver corrode and their venom will be for a testimony against you, and the venom will be eating your flesh as fire. You hoard in the last days." ⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts." ⁵ You luxuriate on the earth, and squander. You nourish your hearts as in a day of slaughter."

¹⁴ Who rejoice in doing evil, Who exult in the duplicity of evil,

⁹ Every fool mocks at a guilt offering, Yet among the upright is approval."

²¹ Folly is amusement to one who lacks heart wisdom, Yet a man of comprehension keeps to a straight walk."

¹⁸ Like a frantic man who shoots firebrands, arrows and death, ¹⁹ So is the man who deceives his associate And then says, Did I not make good sport?

⁹ Rejoice, choice youth, in your childhood, And let your heart be well in the days of your prime; Walk in the ways of your heart and by the sight of your eyes, Yet know that for all these the One, Elohim, shall bring you into judgment."

²⁵ For when I am afraid of an alarm, it arrives for me, And whatever I shrink from comes to me.

²¹ The sound of alarming things is in his ears; When at peace, the devastator comes against him.

² The yearning of his heart, You will give to him, And the proposal of his lips You will not withhold at all. {Interlude{ "

⁴ Find pleasure in Yahweh, And He shall give you the requests of your heart."

¹⁹ Benevolence for those fearing Him is He providing, And their imploring is He hearing and is saving them."

⁴ Moreover, I, I will choose among their unweaned, and their shrinking ones will I bring to them, because I called and there was no answer, I spoke and they did not hearken. And they are doing evil in My eyes, and what I do not desire, that they choose."

⁶ "Happy are those who are hungering and thirsting for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

¹⁸ I will not leave you bereaved; I am coming to you."

²⁴ Hitherto you do not request anything in My name. Request and you shall obtain, that your joy may be full."

²⁷ but a certain fearful waiting for judging and fiery jealousy, about to be eating the hostile."

¹⁴ And this is the boldness which we have toward Him, that if we should be requesting anything according to his will, He is hearing us." ¹⁵ And if ever we are aware that He is hearing us, whatever we may be requesting, we are aware that we have the requests which we have requested from Him."

¹⁸ Do they become like crushed straw before the wind, Or like trash that the sweeping whirlwind steals away?

¹⁹ He shall lie down rich, yet he may not do so again; When he uncloses his eyes it shall not be there. ²⁰ Decadent things shall overtake him by day; A whirlwind shall steal him away at night. ²¹ The east wind shall carry him off so that he is gone, And it shall toss him away in a tempest from his place.

⁵ He has neither lent his money at interest Nor taken a bribe against the innocent. He who is doing these things shall not slip for the eon.

⁹ For the evildoers, they shall be cut off, Yet those expecting Yahweh, they shall tenant the land." ¹⁰ And still a little while, and there will be no wicked one; When you consider his place, he will not be there."

⁹ Ere their pots could detect the boxthorn fire, Like a thistle, like a prickly acanthus, He shall toss him away in a tempest."

¹⁸ Surely You shall set them down in slippery places; You will cast them into ruinations. ¹⁹ How they will become a desolation, as in a moment! They will be swept up; they will be finished by decadence!" ²⁰ Like a dream when one is waking, O Yahweh, when rousing, You shall lay waste their phantom."

²⁷ When alarm comes upon you like a tumult, And calamity, it arrives upon you like a sweeping whirlwind, When distress and constraint come upon you."

³⁰ The righteous one shall not slip at all for the eon, Yet the wicked shall not tabernacle in the land."

³ A man cannot be established by wickedness, Yet the root of the righteous is immovable."

⁷ The wicked are overturned, and they become nothing, Yet the house of the righteous shall stand."

²⁴ Indeed, they wilt when planted; indeed, they wilt when sown; indeed, a root will wilt in the earth as their set-slip. And, moreover, a breeze blows on them, and they are drying. And a tempest, as straw, is bearing them away."

¹⁸ Now I, also, am saying to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will I be building My ecclesia, and the gates of the unseen shall not be prevailing against it."

²⁰ being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the capstone of the corner being Christ Jesus Himself,

¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves an ideal foundation for that which is impending, that they may get hold of life really."

¹⁹ Howbeit, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knew those who are His, and, Let everyone who is naming the name of the Lord withdraw from injustice. "

¹³ Like the chill of snow in the day of harvest Is a faithful agent to those who send him; He restores the soul of his lords.

²⁰ Like one disrobing a cloak on a cold day, like vinegar on soda, So is one singing songs to a troubled heart."

⁶ He cuts away his feet, drinks violence, Who sends words by the hand of a stupid person."

⁵ who are saying, `Keep near to yourself! You must not come close to me, for I am holier than you.' These are a smoke in My nose, a fire which is glowing all the day."

²⁶ Now, answering, his lord said to him, 'Wicked and slothful slave! You were aware that I am reaping where I do not sow, and gathering whence I do not scatter."

¹¹ in diligence not slothful, fervent in spirit, slaving for the Lord,

¹² that you may not be becoming dull. Now be imitators of those who through faith and patience are enjoying the allotment of the promises.

³² When not yet its day, his palm tree shall be snipped off, And its fronds shall not be flourishing. ³³ Like a vine he shall cast down his unripe grape, And he shall fling off his blossom like an olive.

¹⁵ Are you keeping the path of the eon of old That the men of lawlessness tread, ¹⁶ Who were arrested when not yet their time, When a stream was poured over their foundation,

⁴ He asked life from You; You will give it to him:Length of days for an eon and further.

¹¹ Come my sons; hearken to me! I shall teach you the devout fear of Yahweh. ¹² Who is the man whose delight is life, Loving sufficient days in order to see good? ¹³ Preserve your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit.

²³ And You, O Elohim, You shall bring them down to the well of ruin, These mortals of bloodshed and deceit, Who shall not live half their days; As for me, I am trusting in You. {Permanent{ {Concerning the Mute Dove Afar{ "

¹⁶ With length of days shall I satisfy him, And I shall show him My salvation."

² For length of days and years of life And peace shall they add to you.

¹⁶ Length of days are in her right hand, And in her left hand are riches and glory."

¹¹ For by me your days shall increase, And years of life shall be added to you."

¹⁷ Do not be abundantly wicked, and do not be frivolous; Why should you die when it is not your time?

¹¹ A partridge hatching, and not bringing forth, [Is] one making wealth, and not by right, In the midst of his days he does forsake it, And in his latter end--he is a fool."

²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'"

¹³ So are the paths laid for all those forgetting El, And so the expectation of the polluted shall perish,

²⁰ Yet the eyes of the wicked shall be exhausted, And flight to safety will perish for them And their expectation become their expiring soul.

⁹ Wherefore, my heart rejoices, and my glory shall exult; Indeed, my flesh, it shall tabernacle in serenity."

²⁴ By Your counsel are You guiding me, And afterward You shall take me into glory." ²⁵ Who do I have in the heavens but You? And besides You, none do I desire on earth." ²⁶ Exhausted is my flesh, and my heart; The Rock of my heart and my Portion is Elohim for the eon."

⁷ With the death of a wicked man his expectation shall perish, And the hope of lawless men perishes;"

²³ And in the unseen, lifting up his eyes, existing in torments, he is seeing Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom." ²⁴ And he shouting, said, 'Father Abraham, be merciful to me, and send Lazarus that he should be dipping the tip of his finger in water and cooling my tongue, for I am pained in this flame.'" ²⁵ Now Abraham said, 'Child, be reminded that you got your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise evil things. Yet now here he is being consoled, yet you are in pain." ²⁶ And in all this, between us and you a great chasm has been established, so that those wanting to cross hence to you may not be able, nor yet those thence may be ferrying to us.'"

² through Whom we have the access also, by faith, into this grace in which we stand, and we may be glorying in expectation of the glory of God."

¹² rejoicing in expectation, enduring affliction, persevering in prayer,

¹³ Now may the God of expectation be filling you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to be super-abounding in expectation, in the power of holy spirit."

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, our Father, Who loves us, and is giving us an eonian consolation and a good expectation in grace,

³ Should not calamity be for the iniquitous, And disaster for contrivers of lawlessness?

⁶ For Yahweh is knowing the way of the righteous, Yet the way of the wicked, it shall perish.

¹² The contrivers of lawlessness are desolated; they have fallen; They have been tripped up and they are not able to rise.

²⁰ But the wicked, they shall perish, even the enemies of Yahweh, Like the precious bloom of the meadows, they will vanish; Like smoke they will vanish."

⁷ They go from rampart to rampart Till each appears before Elohim in Zion.

⁷ The wicked bud like herbage, And all contrivers of lawlessness blossom, But only that they be exterminated until the future,

¹⁵ The execution of right judgment is a rejoicing to the righteous one, Yet a dismay to those who contrive lawlessness."

³¹ Yet those stretching toward Yahweh will vary their vigor, and they shall ascend on pinions as vultures. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall go, and not faint."

¹² And I will give them mastery in Yahweh, their Elohim, and in His name shall they walk, (averring is Yahweh)."

²² Many will be declaring to Me in that day, 'Lord! Lord! Was it not in Your name that we prophesy, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many powerful deeds?'" ²³ And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'"

²⁶ Then should you be beginning to say, 'We ate and drank in your sight, and in our squares you teach!'" ²⁷ He also will be declaring: 'I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you? Withdraw from me, all workers of injustice!'"

⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek,

¹³ For all am I strong in Him Who is invigorating me - Christ!

⁸ I poise Yahweh in front of me continually; Because He is at my right hand, I shall not slip at all."

²⁸ For Yahweh is loving right judgment, And He shall not forsake His benign ones. The iniquitous will be exterminated for the eon, And the seed of the wicked, it will be cut off." ²⁹ The righteous, they shall tenant the land, And they shall tabernacle on it for the future."

⁵ But El, He shall break you down permanently; He shall rake you up and tear you out from your tent, And He will root you out from the land of the living. {Interlude{ "

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Those who trust in Yahweh are like Mount Zion which is immovable; It shall dwell securely for the eon.

²¹ For the upright, they shall tabernacle in the land, And the flawless, they shall be left in it, ²² Yet the wicked, they shall be cut off from the land, And the treacherous, they shall be torn out from it."

²⁵ Like the passing sweeping whirlwind, the wicked one is not remaining, Yet the righteous one is founded for the eon."

²⁴ `Son of man, the inhabitants of these wastes on the ground of Israel are speaking, saying:Alone has been Abraham--and he possesses the land, and we [are] many--to us has the land been given for a possession." ²⁵ Therefore say unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:With the blood you do eat, And your eyes you lift up unto your idols, And blood you shed, and the land you inherit!" ²⁶ You have stood on your sword, You have done abomination, Each the wife of his neighbor you have defiled, And the land you possess!"

⁹ The wives of My people are you driving out from the house of their delicacies, from their unweaned children you are taking My honor for the eon." ¹⁰ Rise and go, for this is not your rest; for the sake of uncleanness it will harm, and the cramp will harass."

⁴¹ They are saying to Him, "Evil men! Evilly will he be destroying them, and the vineyard will he be leasing to other farmers, who will be rendering the fruits to him in their seasons."

³⁵ What shall be separating us from the love of God in Christ Jesus? Affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ According as it is written that "On Thy account we are being put to death the whole day, We are reckoned as sheep for slaughter." ³⁷ Nay! in all these we are more than conquering through Him Who loves us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor messengers, nor sovereignties, nor the present, nor what is impending, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord."

¹⁸ Let false lips be muted, Those speaking with impertinence against the righteous, In pride and contempt."

¹¹ Yet the king is rejoicing in Elohim. Everyone who is swearing by Him shall boast, But the mouth of those speaking falsehood shall be held in check. {Permanent{ "

³ What shall He give to you, And what more shall He add for you, Deceitful tongue? ⁴ He will send arrows of the masterful, whetted With glowing embers of broom!"

¹³ Wisdom is found on the lips of the understanding, Yet a club is for the body of him who has lack of heart wisdom."

¹² So as to rescue you from the way of evil, From the man who is speaking duplicity,

¹¹ By the blessing of the upright the town shall be exalted, Yet by the mouth of the wicked it shall be demolished."

⁶ The words of the wicked wait in ambush for blood, Yet the mouth of the upright shall rescue them."

² The tongue of the wise uses knowledge well, Yet the mouth of the stupid utters folly."

²⁸ The heart of the righteous man cogitates on its answers, Yet the mouth of the wicked utters evil things."

⁶ The lips of a stupid man bring him into contention, And his mouth calls for beatings." ⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul." ⁸ The words of a babbler are like tidbits; They descend to the chambers of one's belly.

¹⁰ The Assembler sought to find words of delight, And what was written is uprightness and words of truth."

⁸ with words sound, uncensurable, that the contrary one may be abashed, having nothing bad to say concerning us."
