¹ And saying is Yahweh Elohim to Noah, "Come, you and all your household, into the ark, for you I see righteous before Me in this generation.

⁷ And I set up My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, for their generations, for a covenant eonian, to become your Elohim and your seed's after you. ⁸ And I give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for a holding eonian. And I become their Elohim.

⁴⁷ And asking her am I and saying, `Whose daughter are you?' And saying is she, `A daughter of Bethuel, son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore for him.' And placing am I the pendant on her nose and the bracelets on her hands.

³³ And responding is my righteousness for me, on the morrow day, for on account of my hire shall it come before you. Every one in which there is no speck and fleck among the goats, and brown among the sheep, stolen is it if with me.

³⁷ And what have you found of all the furnishings of your house? Place it thus in front of my brethren and your brethren, and correct will they the matter between us two.

³⁰ And saying is Jacob to Simeon and to Levi, "You trouble me to make me stink among all the dwellers of the land, among the Canaanite and among the Perizzite. And I am death-doomed, outnumbered when gathered are they against me and smite me, and exterminated shall I be, I and my household.

³⁸ And saying is Pharaoh to his servants, "Find will we one as this man, who has the spirit of the Elohim in him? ³⁹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "After the Elohim has made known to you all this, there is no one as understanding and wise as you. ⁴⁰ You shall be over my household, and at your bidding all my people shall bear weapons. But on the throne will I be greater than you. ⁴¹ And saying is Pharaoh to Joseph, "See! Given you have I today to be over all the land of Egypt. ⁴² And taking off from his hand his ring is Pharaoh, and is putting it on the hand of Joseph. And clothing him is he in garments of cambric sheen, and is placing a knitted collar of gold on his neck,

⁶ And Joseph, he has authority over the land. He is the retailer to all the people of the land. And coming are the brothers of Joseph and prostrating to him, nostrils to the earth.

⁸ And now, not you send me hither, for it was the Elohim. And constituting me is He a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his household, and ruler in all the land of Egypt.

⁹ The enemy said: I shall pursue! I shall overtake! I shall apportion the loot! My soul's desire shall be fulfilled on them! I shall unsheathe my sword! My hand shall evict them! ¹⁰ You made a breeze with Your wind; the sea covered them. They submerged as lead in the noble waters.

²¹ And Miriam responded to them: Sing to Yahweh, for He is august, yea august: The horse and its rider He heaved into the sea.

² You shall not come after the many to do evil, and you shall not respond in a contention to turn aside after the many, to turn aside judgment.

¹⁶ You shall not go about as a defamer among your kinsmen; you shall not stand against the blood of your associate:I am Yahweh.

³⁵ You shall not do iniquity in judgment of standards in measure, in weight or in quantity. ³⁶ Just scales, just stone weights, a just ephah and a just hin shall you come to have:I, Yahweh, am your Elohim Who brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

¹² lest, when you eat and are satisfied and build good houses and dwell in them, ¹³ and your herd and your flock multiply, and silver and gold increase for you, and all that is yours is abundant, ¹⁴ then your heart becomes exalted and you forget Yahweh your Elohim Who was bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants,

¹⁰ You shall give, yea give to him, and your heart shall not feel bad at your giving to him. For owing to this matter Yahweh your Elohim shall bless you in all your work and in every undertaking of your hand.

¹³ You shall not come to have in your purse a stone and another stone, a large and a small. ¹⁴ You shall not come to have in your house an ephah and another ephah, a large and a small. ¹⁵ You shall come to have a standard weight equitable and just; you shall come to have an ephah equitable and just, that your days may be prolonged on the ground that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you. ¹⁶ For anyone doing these things, anyone doing iniquity, is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim.

¹⁴ And the men say to her, `Our soul for yours--to die; if you declare not this our matter, then it has been, in Yahweh's giving to us this land, that we have done with you kindness and truth..

³¹ So do all Your enemies perish, O Yahweh, And those loving Him [are] As the going out of the sun in its might!' and the land rests forty years.

²⁷ and go out into the field, and gather their vineyards, and tread, and make praises, and go into the house of their elohim, and eat and drink, and revile Abimelech. ²⁸ And Gaal son of Ebed said, `Who [is] Abimelech, and who [is] Shechem, that we serve him? is [he] not son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his commander? Serve you the men of Hamor father of Shechem, and wherefore do we serve him--we? <sup>29</sup> and oh that this people were in my hand--then I turn Abimelech aside;' and he said to Abimelech, `Increase your host, and come out..

³⁸ And Zebul said unto him, `Where [is] now your mouth, in that you say, Who [is] Abimelech that we serve him? is not this the people against which you have kicked? go out, I pray you now, and fight against it..

²⁷ and the sons of worthlessness have said, `What! this one does save us!' and they despise him, and have not brought to him a present; and he is as one deaf.

³ `Lo, here [am] I; testify against me, over-against Yahweh, and over-against His anointed; whose ox have I taken, and whose ass have I taken, and whom have I oppressed; whom have I bruised, and of whose hand have I taken a ransom, and hide mine eyes with it? --and I restore to you.. <sup>4</sup> And they say, `You have not oppressed us, nor have you crushed us, nor have you taken from the hand of any one anything..

³ And the name of the man [is] Nabal, and the name of his wife Abigail, and the woman [is] of good understanding, and of fair form, and the man [is] hard and evil [in] doings; and he [is] a Calebite.

¹⁷ `And, now, know and consider what you do; for evil has been determined against our lord, and against all his house, and he [is] too much a son of worthlessness to be spoken to..

³² And David said to Abigail, `Blessed [is] Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, who has sent you this day to meet me, ³³ and blessed [is] your discretion, and blessed [are] you in that you have restrained me this day from coming in with blood, and to restrain my hand to myself.

³⁸ And it comes to pass, [in] about ten days, that Yahweh smites Nabal, and he dies,

¹⁴ I am to him for a father, and he is to Me for a son; whom in his dealings perversely I have even reproved with a rod of men, and with strokes of the sons of Adam, ¹⁵ and My kindness does not turn aside from him, as I turned it aside from Saul, whom I turned aside from before you,

⁹ `Wherefore have you despised the word of Yahweh, to do the evil thing in His eyes? Uriah the Hittite you have smitten by the sword, and his wife you have taken to you for a wife, and him you have slain by the sword of the Bene-Ammon. <sup>10</sup> `And now, the sword does not turn aside from your house unto the eon, because you have despised Me, and do take the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be to you for a wife;" ¹¹ thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am raising up against you evil, out of your house, and have taken your wives before your eyes, and given to your neighbor, and he has lain with your wives before the eyes of this sun;" ¹² for you have done [it] in secret, and I do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun..

²³ And Ahithophel has seen that his counsel was not done, and he saddles the ass, and rises and goes unto his house, unto his city, and gives charge unto his household, and strangles himself, and dies, and he is buried in the burying-place of his father.

And the woman said unto Joab, `Lo, his head is cast unto you over the wall.. ²² And the woman comes unto all the people in her wisdom, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bichri, and cast [it] unto Joab, and he blows with a trumpet, and they are scattered from the city, each to his tents, and Joab has turned back to Jerusalem unto the king.

³² and Yahweh has turned back his blood on his own head, who has fallen on two men more righteous and better than he, and slays them with the sword, --and my father David knew not--Abner son of Ner, head of the host of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, head of the host of Judah;" ³³ yea, turned back has their blood on the head of Joab, and on the head of his seed to the eon; and for David, and for his seed, and for his house, and for his throne, there is peace unto the eon, from Yahweh..

⁴⁴ And the king said unto Shimei, `You have known all the evil that your heart has known, which you did to David my father, and Yahweh has turned back your evil on your head,

¹ And Rehoboam goes to Shechem, for to Shechem has all Israel come to make him king. ² And it comes to pass, at Jeroboam son of Nebat's hearing (and he [is] yet in Egypt where he has fled from the presence of Solomon the king, and Jeroboam dwells in Egypt), ³ that they send and call for him; and they come--Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel--and speak unto Rehoboam, saying, ⁴ `Your father made hard our yoke, and you, now, make light [some] of the hard service of your father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we serve you.. <sup>5</sup> And he said unto them, `Go--yet three days, and come back unto me;' and the people go. ⁶ And king Rehoboam consults with the elders who have been standing in the presence of Solomon his father, in his being alive, saying, `How are you counselling to answer this people?. <sup>7</sup> And they speak unto him, saying, `If, to-day, you are servant to this people, and have served them, and answered them, and spoken unto them good words, then they have been to you servants all the days.. ⁸ And he forsakes the counsel of the elders which they counselled him, and consults with the lads who have grown up with him, who are standing before him;" ⁹ and he said unto them, `What are you counselling, and we answer this people, who have spoken unto me, saying, Lighten [somewhat] of the yoke that your father put upon us?. <sup>10</sup> And they speak unto him--the lads who had grown up with him--saying, `Thus do you say to this people who have spoken unto you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you, make [it] light upon us; thus do you speak unto them, My little [finger] is thicker than the loins of my father;" ¹¹ and now, my father laid on you a heavy yoke, and I add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, and I--I chastise you with scorpions.. ¹² And they come--Jeroboam and all the people--unto Rehoboam, on the third day, as the king had spoken, saying, `Come back unto me on the third day.. <sup>13</sup> And the king answers the people sharply, and forsakes the counsel of the elders which they counselled him, <sup>14</sup> and speaks unto them, according to the counsel of the lads, saying, `My father made your yoke heavy, and I add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, and I--I chastise you with scorpions;. ¹⁵ and the king hearkened not unto the people, for the revolution was from Yahweh, in order to establish His word that Yahweh spoke by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam son of Nebat. ¹⁶ And all Israel see that the king has not hearkened unto them, and the people send the king back word, saying, `What portion have we in David? yea, there is no inheritance in the son of Jesse; to your tents, O Israel; now see your house, O David!' and Israel goes to its tents. ¹⁷ As to the sons of Israel, those dwelling in the cities of Judah--over them reign does Rehoboam. ¹⁸ And king Rehoboam sends Adoram who [is] over the tribute, and all Israel cast at him stones, and he dies; and king Rehoboam has strengthened himself to go up into a chariot to flee to Jerusalem;" ¹⁹ and Israel transgresses against the house of David unto this day.

¹⁸ And he said to him, `I also [am] a prophet like you, and a messenger spoke unto me by the word of Yahweh, saying, Bring him back with you unto your house, and he does eat bread and drink water;' --he has lied to him. <sup>19</sup> And he turns back with him, and eats bread in his house, and drinks water. <sup>20</sup> And it comes to pass--they are sitting at the table--and a word of Yahweh is unto the prophet who brought him back, <sup>21</sup> and he calls unto the man of Elohim who came from Judah, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Because that you have provoked the mouth of Yahweh, and have not kept the command that Yahweh your Elohim charged you, ²² and turn back and do eat bread and drink water in the place of which He said unto you, You do not eat bread nor drink water--your carcase comes not in unto the burying-place of your fathers..

²⁰ and Yahweh said, Who does entice Ahab, and he does go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? and this one said thus, and that one is saying thus. ²¹ `And the spirit goes out, and stands before Yahweh, and said, I--I do entice him; and Yahweh said unto him, By what? ²² and he said, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He said, You do entice, and also you are able; go out and do so. ²³ And now, lo, Yahweh has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken concerning you--evil..

³⁶ And the people have kept silent, and have not answered him a word, for the command of the king is, saying, `Do not answer him..

¹⁷ `And I have known, my Elohim, that You are trying the heart, and uprightness do desire; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these:and now, Your people who are found here I have seen with joy to offer willingly to You.

²⁰ And Hezekiah the king prays, and Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, concerning this, and they cry to the heavens, ²¹ and Yahweh sends a messenger, and cuts off every mighty one of valor--both leader and head--in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turns back with shame of face to his land, and enters the house of his elohim, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword. ²² And Yahweh saves Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Asshur, and from the hand of all, and He leads them round about;"

² and said before his brethren and the force of Samaria, yea, he said, `What [are] the weak Jews doing? are they left to themselves? do they sacrifice? do they complete in a day? do they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish? --and they burnt!. <sup>3</sup> And Tobiah the Ammonite [is] by him and said, `Also, that which they are building--if a fox does go up, then it has broken down their stone wall.. ⁴ Hear, O our Elohim, for we have been despised; and turn back their reproach on their own head, and give them for a spoil in a land of captivity;"

¹⁷ Also, in those days the freemen of Judah are multiplying their letters going unto Tobiah, and those of Tobiah are coming in unto them;" ¹⁸ for many in Judah are sworn to him, for he [is] son-in-law to Shechaniah son of Arah, and Jehohanan his son has taken the daughter of Meshullam son of Berechiah;" ¹⁹ also, his good deeds they have been saying before me, and my words they have been taking out to him; letters has Tobiah sent to make me afraid.

⁸ Then Haman said to king Xerxes:There is a certain people dispersed and parted among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their edicts are diverse from any other people. They are not obeying the king's edicts, and for the king it is not appropriate to tolerate them. ⁹ If it seems good to the king, it may be written to destroy them; and for the hands of those doing the work I shall weigh out ten thousand silver talents to bring to the king's depositories. ¹⁰ So the king withdrew his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the foe of the Jews. ¹¹ And the king said to Haman:The silver be given to you, also the people, to do with them according to what is well-pleasing in your eyes. ¹² Then the king's scribes were called in the first month, on the thirteenth day of it. According to all the instructions that Haman had given, it was written to the king's satraps, to the viceroys who were over the different provinces, and to the chief officials of the different peoples, to each province in its own provincial writing, and to each people in its own popular tongue. It was written in the name of king Xerxes and was sealed with the king's ring. ¹³ Letters were sent by means of couriers to all the king's provinces, to exterminate, to kill and to destroy all the Jews from youth unto old age, both little ones and women, on a single day, the thirteenth of the twelfth month (that is, the month of Adar), and to plunder the loot of them. ¹⁴ A transcript of the written text was to be promulgated as an edict in all the different provinces and was to be revealed to all the peoples, namely, to become equipped for this day. ¹⁵ The couriers rode forth posthaste by order of the king, and the edict was promulgated in the castle of Susa. Then the king and Haman sat down to drink, but Susa city was doleful.

³ Queen Esther answered and said:If I have found favor in your eyes, O king, and if it seems good to the king, may my own soul be granted to me at my request, and my people's at my urgent appeal. ⁴ For we have been sold, I and my people, to be exterminated, to be killed and to be destroyed. Now supposing we had been sold as male slaves and as maids, I would have kept silence, for it would not be appropriate to report such a distress, and cause trouble to the king. ⁵ Then king Xerxes inquired; he asked queen Esther:Who, then, is he? And just where is he who has filled his heart to act in this way? ⁶ Esther replied:The man, the foe and enemy, is this evil Haman. Haman was frightened before the king and the queen. ⁷ When the king, in his fury, arose from the wine feast to go into the garden of the pavilion, Haman stayed behind to appeal earnestly for his soul from queen Esther, for he saw that there was evil determined against him from the king. ⁸ As the king was returning from the garden of the pavilion to the house of the wine feast, Haman was falling upon the couch on which Esther was. So the king shouted:Will he even molest the queen, with me in the house? As the word had come forth from the king's mouth, they hooded Haman's face. ⁹ And Harbona, one of the eunuchs before the king, said:Moreover, behold, there is standing at Haman's house the lofty gallows of fifty cubits that Haman had prepared for Mordecai who had spoken to the good of the king. So the king commanded:Hang him on it!" ¹⁰ Then they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king's fury subsided.

¹⁵ As for Mordecai, he went forth from before the king in royal garment of blue and pale, wearing a magnified coronet of gold and a cloak of fine linen and purple wool. And Susa city was noisy with rejoicing. ¹⁶ For the Jews there was light with rejoicing, elation and esteem.

No man could stand before them, for awesome fear had fallen on all the peoples. ³ All chief officials of the provinces, the satraps and the viceroys, those conducting the king's business, were assisting the Jews; for awesome fear of Mordecai had fallen on them. ⁴ For Mordecai's influence was great in the king's house, and his fame was spreading in all the provinces as the influence of the man Mordecai became towering. ⁵ The Jews smote all their enemies with the smiting of the sword, with killing and destruction; they did to those hating them as was acceptable to them. ⁶ In the castle of Susa the Jews killed and destroyed 500 men, ⁷ also Parshandatha, Dalphon and Aspatha, ⁸ Poratha, Adalia and Aridatha, ⁹ Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai and Vaizatha, ¹⁰ the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the foe of the Jews. They killed them, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder. ¹¹ On the same day the number of those killed in the castle of Susa came before the king; ¹² and the king said to queen Esther:In the castle of Susa alone the Jews have killed and destroyed 500 men and the ten sons of Haman. What have they done in the remainder of the king's provinces? Now what is your request? It shall be granted to you. And what is your other urgent appeal? It shall also be done. ¹³ Esther answered:If it seems good to the king, let it be granted to the Jews in Susa to execute also tomorrow according to the edict for today, and let them hang the ten sons of Haman on the gallows. ¹⁴ So the king ordered it to be done in this way; an edict was issued in Susa, and they hanged the ten sons of Haman. ¹⁵ The Jews in Susa assembled again on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar and killed 300 men in Susa, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder. ¹⁶ The remainder of the Jews in the king's provinces had assembled to stand up for their souls and to find rest from their enemies. They killed 75,000 of those hating them, but they did not lay their hand on the plunder.

²⁵ But when it came before the king, he ordered with a letter that his evil devising that he had devised against the Jews should get back on his own head; and so they hanged him and his sons on the gallows.

⁷ Little children, let no one be deceiving you. He who is doing righteousness is just, according as He is just."

¹⁰ In this are apparent the children of God and the children of the Adversary: everyone who is not doing righteousness is not of God, and who is not loving his brother."

¹ The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I am loving in truth, and not I only, but all also who know the truth,

Salvation and glory and power is of our God, ² for true and just is His judging, for He judges the great prostitute who corrupts the earth with her prostitution, and avenges the blood of His slaves at her hand." ³ And a second time have they declared, "Hallelujah!And her smoke is ascending for the eons of the eons." ⁴ And the twenty-four elders and the four animals fall and worship God, Who is sitting on the throne, saying, "Amen! Hallelujah!" ⁵ And a voice came out from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all His slaves, and those who are fearing Him, the small and the great." ⁶ And I hear as it were the voice of a vast throng, and as it were the sound of many waters, and as it were the sound of strong thunders, saying, "Hallelujah! for the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns!" ⁷ We may be rejoicing and exulting and will be giving glory to Him, for the wedding of the Lambkin came, and Its bride makes herself ready."
