¹ Wine is a mocker; an intoxicant is a discomfiter; And anyone led into error by it is not wise. ² Dread inspired by a king is a growling like that of a sheltered lion; He who enrages him sins against his own soul. ³ It is glory to a man to cease from contention, Yet every fool rails on." ⁴ In autumn the slothful man does not plow; In harvest time he shall be begging, but there will be nothing." ⁵ The counsel in a man's heart is like deep waters, Yet a man of understanding draws it out." ⁶ Many a man proclaims, each one, his kindness, Yet a faithful man who can find? ⁷ A righteous man who is walking in his integrity--Happy are his sons after him. ⁸ A king sitting on his throne of adjudication Winnows out all evil with his eyes. ⁹ Who can say, I have made my heart spotless; I am cleansed from my sin? ¹⁰ Standard weight differing with standard weight, ephah with ephah, An abhorrence to Yahweh are they both." ¹¹ Even a youth is recognized by his actions, Whether his deeds are spotless and upright." ¹² The hearing ear and the seeing eye--Yahweh has made them both. ¹³ Do not love sleep lest you should become destitute; Unclose your eyes so as to be surfeited with bread. ¹⁴ Bad, Bad! says the buyer, Yet after his departing, then he boasts." ¹⁵ Gold there is and many rubies, Yet a most precious jewel is lips speaking knowledge." ¹⁶ Take his cloak, for he has become surety for an alien, And since it is in behalf of a foreign woman, hold it in pledge." ¹⁷ Congenial to a man is bread gained by falsehood, Yet afterward his mouth shall be filled with gravel." ¹⁸ Designs should be established by counsel; Execute war according to strategy. ¹⁹ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, And so you should not mix with one who entices with his lips." ²⁰ He who maledicts his father and his mother, His lamp shall be extinguished at the approach of darkness." ²¹ An allotment rashly gained at first Shall not be blessed at last. ²² Do not say, I shall repay for evil; Be expectant toward Yahweh, and He shall save you." ²³ An abhorrence to Yahweh is a standard weight differing with standard weight, And deceitful scales are not good." ²⁴ A master's steps are directed by Yahweh; How then can a man understand his way? ²⁵ It is a trap when a man is rash to pledge a holy donation, And only after making his vows to make a quest into it." ²⁶ A wise king winnows the wicked And turns about the wheel over them. ²⁷ A lamp of Yahweh is the life breath of mankind, Searching all the chambers of the inner being." ²⁸ Benignity and truth preserve the king, And by benignity his throne is braced." ²⁹ The beauty of those in their prime is their vigor, And the honor of those who are old is grey hair." ³⁰ Welts and injury are the scouring agents against evil, And blows purge the chambers of the inner being."

²¹ And drinking is he of the wine and is drunk, and is exposing himself in the midst of his tent. ²² And seeing is Ham (father of Canaan) the nakedness of his father, and faring forth, he is telling his two brothers outside. ²³ And taking are Shem and Japheth a garment, and are placing it on the shoulders of the two, and they are going backward, and covering the nakedness of their father. And their faces were backward, and the nakedness of their father they did not see.

³¹ And saying is the firstborn to the inferior in station, "Our father is old, and man there is none in the earth to come on us as is the way of the entire earth. ³² Go! Give will we our father wine to drink, and lie with him and keep alive seed from our father. ³³ And giving are they their father wine to drink in that night. And coming is the firstborn, and lying with her father in that night, and he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁴ And coming is it on the morrow that the firstborn is saying to the inferior in station, "Behold! I lay yesternight with our father. We will give him wine to drink tonight, moreover. And you come, lie with him, and we will keep alive seed from our father. ³⁵ And, moreover, they are giving their father wine to drink in that night, and rising is the inferior in station, and is lying with her father. And he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁶ And pregnant are the two daughters of Lot by their father.

³⁶ And Abigail comes in unto Nabal, and lo, he has a banquet in his house, like a banquet of the king, and the heart of Nabal [is] glad within him, and he [is] drunk unto excess, and she has not declared to him anything, less or more, till the light of the morning. ³⁷ And it comes to pass in the morning, when the wine is gone out from Nabal, that his wife declares to him these things, and his heart dies within him, and he has been as a stone. ³⁸ And it comes to pass, [in] about ten days, that Yahweh smites Nabal, and he dies,

¹³ and David calls for him, and he eats before him, and drinks, and he causes him to drink, and he goes out in the evening to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, and unto his house he has not gone down.

²⁸ And Absalom commands his young men, saying, `See, I pray you, when the heart of Amnon [is] glad with wine, and I have said unto you, Smite Amnon, that you have put him to death; fear not; is it not because I have commanded you? be strong, yea, become sons of valor..

¹⁶ and they go out at noon, and Ben-Hadad is drinking--drunk in the booths, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings, helping him. ¹⁷ And the young men of the heads of the provinces go out at the first, and Ben-Hadad sends, and they declare to him, saying, `Men have come out of Samaria.. <sup>18</sup> And he said, `If for peace they have come out--catch them alive; and if for battle they have come out--alive catch them.. ¹⁹ And these have gone out of the city--the young men of the heads of the provinces--and the force that [is] after them, ²⁰ and smite each his man, and Aram flees, and Israel pursues them, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram escapes on a horse, and the horsemen;" ²¹ and the king of Israel goes out, and smites the horses, and the charioteers, and has smitten among the Arameans a great smiting.

²⁹ Who has woe? who has uneasiness? who has quarrels? Who has deep concerns? who has gratuitous injuries? Who has bloodshot eyes? ³⁰ They have who delay over wine, Who come to investigate a blend." ³¹ Do not stare at wine when it is red, When it casts its sparkle in the cup and goes down evenly." ³² Its aftereffect shall bite like a serpent And spread pain like a yellow viper. ³³ Your eyes shall see strange things, And your heart shall speak wayward thoughts." ³⁴ You will become like one who lies down on the heart of the sea, Or like one who lies down on the top of the rigging." ³⁵ They smite me, yet I am not at all wounded; They beat me, yet I have no knowledge of it. When shall I awake? I shall do it again; I shall seek it once more."

⁴ It must not be for kings, O Lemuel, It must not be for kings to drink wine, Or for chancellors to yearn for intoxicant,

²² Woe to masters of wine drinking, and mortals valorous in blending an intoxicant,

⁷ And, moreover, these by wine, do err, and by an intoxicant they stray. Priest and prophet err by an intoxicant. They are swallowed up because of the wine. They stray because of the intoxicant. They err in sight, quaver in mediation,

¹² Arrive! We will take wine, and we will carouse with an intoxicant! And it comes, as this day, so the morrow, great, exceedingly exuberant!"

¹¹ and wine and grape juice shall take their heart.

⁵ On the day of our king, the chiefs start a fury; because of wine, he draws to his hand the mockers."

¹⁵ Woe to him giving his associate drink, adjoining your fury, and, indeed, making him drunk that he may look on their nakedness." ¹⁶ You are satisfied with dishonor rather than glory; you, moreover, drink and be uncircumcised. The cup of Yahweh's right hand shall go around to you, and ignominy is added to your glory."

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards; no revilers, no extortioners shall be enjoying the allotment of God's kingdom."

²¹ envies, murders, drunkennesses, revelries, and the like of these, which, I am predicting to you, according as I predicted also, that those committing such things shall not be enjoying the allotment of the kingdom of God."

¹⁸ And be not drunk with wine, in which is profligacy, but be filled full with spirit,

³⁸ the fire-pans of these sinners against their own souls. And they will make of them stamped foils into an overlay for the altar; for since they brought them near before Yahweh, they shall be holy and shall become as a sign to the sons of Israel.

²³ And king Solomon swears by Yahweh, saying, `Thus does Elohim to me, and thus He does add--surely against his soul has Adonijah spoken this word;"

³⁶ Yet whoever misses me wrongs his soul; All who hate me love death.

¹⁴ The fury of a king is like many messengers of death, Yet a wise man shall appease it." ¹⁵ In the light of a king's countenance is life, And his benevolence is like a thick cloud of latter rain."

¹² The ire of a king is like the growling of a sheltered lion, Yet his benevolence is like night mist on herbage."

⁴ If the spirit of a ruler ascends against you, do not leave your place, For a healing time gives rest to great sins."

¹⁰ They shall go after Yahweh. He shall roar as a lioness, for He shall roar! And the sons shall tremble from the sea;"

⁸ The lion roars--who will not fear? My Lord Yahweh speaks--who will not prophesy?

¹⁰ You counsel shame for your house to cut away many peoples, and are sinning against your soul,

⁹ And Jehoash king of Israel sends unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, `The thorn that [is] in Lebanon has sent unto the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son for a wife; and pass by does a beast of the field that [is] in Lebanon, and treads down the thorn.

¹⁷ One who is short to show anger does folly, And a man of schemes is hated."

²⁹ He who is slow to anger shows great comprehension, Yet he who is short of spirit heightens folly."

³² He who is slow to anger is better than a masterful man, And he who rules over his spirit than one seizing a city."

¹⁴ The beginning of a quarrel is like opening up a dam of water, So before the contention rails, abandon it."

⁶ The lips of a stupid man bring him into contention, And his mouth calls for beatings."

¹¹ It is intelligence for a man when he postpones his anger, And it is his beauty to pass over a transgression."

²⁴ The arrogant and ostentatious man-mocker is his name, The one who acts with raging arrogance."

⁸ Do not speak forth hastily to many; For what shall you do in its end, When your associate confounds you? ⁹ Contend your contention privately with your associate, And do not expose the deliberation to another, ¹⁰ Lest he who hears should embarrass you When your gossip cannot be retracted.

⁶ for the laud of the glory of His grace, which graces us in the Beloved:" ⁷ in Whom we are having the deliverance through His blood, the forgiveness of offenses in accord with the riches of His grace, ⁸ which He lavishes on us; in all wisdom and prudence

³² yet become kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, dealing graciously among yourselves, according as God also, in Christ, deals graciously with you."

¹⁴ Now if you are having bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, are you not vaunting against and falsifying the truth?

¹ Whence are the battles and whence the fightings among you? Are they not hence: from your gratifications warring in your members?

¹⁰ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ¹¹ And your destitution shall come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

⁴ A deceitful palm makes destitute, Yet an industrious hand shall enrich."

⁴ The slothful man yearns for a thing, and his soul finds it not, Yet the soul of the industrious is conferred with richness."

¹⁵ Slothfulness casts one down into stupor, So that the soul of the indolent man shall famish."

²⁴ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl, Yet he does not bring it back to his mouth."

³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

¹³ The slothful man says, There is a black lion in the road, A lion in the square!" ¹⁴ The door turns about on its hinges, And the slothful one on his couch." ¹⁵ The slothful man buries his hand into the dinner-bowl; He is too tired to bring it back to his mouth. ¹⁶ The slothful man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who reply with discretion.

³ For the stupid, getting their torches, got no oil with them, ⁴ yet the prudent got oil in the crocks with their torches. ⁵ Now, at the delaying of the bridegroom, they all nod and drowsed." ⁶ Now in the middle of the night a clamor occurs: 'Lo! the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' ⁷ Then roused were all those virgins, and they adorn their torches." ⁸ Now the stupid said to the prudent, 'Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.'" ⁹ Yet the prudent answered, saying, 'No, lest at some time there should not be sufficient for us and you." ¹⁰ Now, at their coming away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who are ready entered with him into the wedding festivities, and the door is locked."

²⁴ Now, approaching, the one also having gotten the one talent, said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you do not sow, and gathering whence you do not scatter." ²⁵ And, being afraid, coming away, I hide your talent in the earth. Lo! you have what is yours!'" ²⁶ Now, answering, his lord said to him, 'Wicked and slothful slave! You were aware that I am reaping where I do not sow, and gathering whence I do not scatter." ²⁷ It was binding on you, then, to be depositing my silver with the bankers, and on coming, I should recover what is mine together with interest." ²⁸ Take the talent away from him then, and give it to the one who has ten talents.'"

⁵ Now for this same thing also, employing all diligence, in your faith supply virture, yet in virtue knowledge, ⁶ yet in knowledge self-control, yet in self-control endurance, yet in endurance devoutness, ⁷ yet in devoutness brotherly fondness, yet in brotherly fondness love." ⁸ For your possessing these and increasing is constituting you not idle nor yet unfruitful in the recognition of our Lord, Jesus Christ." ⁹ For he in whom these are not present is blind, closing his eyes, getting oblivious of the cleansing from the penalties of his sins of old." ¹⁰ Wherefore, rather, brethren, endeavor through ideal acts to confirm your calling and choice; for, doing these things you should under no circumstances be tripping at any time. " ¹¹ For thus will be richly supplied to you the entrance into the eonian kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

⁶ They are searching into iniquity, Saying, We will finish a thorough search. The inward thought of each and the heart are deep."

⁴ The words of a man's mouth are deep waters; The fountain of wisdom is a watercourse bubbling forth.

¹¹ For is any of humanity acquainted with that which is human except the spirit of humanity which is in it? Thus also, that which is of God no one knows, except the spirit of God."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Do save, O Yahweh, for the benign one has reached an end, For the faithful ones have disappeared from the sons of humanity;"

¹⁴ Like vapors and wind when there is no downpour Is a man who boasts in a false gift.

² Let a stranger praise you, and not your own mouth, A foreigner, and certainly not your own lips."

²⁸ Which my soul still sought, but I could not find, I did find one wise man out of a thousand, Yet I could not find a woman among all these."

¹ Go to and fro in streets of Jerusalem, And see, I pray you, and know, And seek in her broad places, if you find a man, If there be one doing judgment, seeking stedfastness--Then am I propitious to her."

² The kindly one has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among humanity. All of them are ambushing for blood; each man is hunting his brother with a seine net."

² Whenever, then, you may be doing alms, you should not be trumpeting in front of you, even as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they should be glorified by men. Verily, I am saying to you, They are collecting their wages!"

⁸ I am saying to you that He will be doing the avenging of them swiftly. Moreover, consequently, at the coming of the Son of Mankind, will He be finding the faith on the earth?

¹¹ The Pharisee, standing, prayed this to himself: 'God, I am thanking you that I am not even as the rest of men, rapacious, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tribute collector."

²⁸ Now Peter said, "Lo! we, leaving our own, follow Thee."

³³ Now he said to Him, "Lord, with Thee I am ready to go to jail as well as to death!"

⁴⁷ Jesus perceived Nathanael coming toward Him, and is saying concerning him, "Lo! truly an Israelite in whom there is no guile!"

¹¹ I have become imprudent; you compel me. For I ought to be commended by you, for I am not deficient in anything pertaining to the paramount apostles, even if I am nothing. "

⁷ And I set up My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you, for their generations, for a covenant eonian, to become your Elohim and your seed's after you.

² He who is walking flawlessly and effecting righteousness; He who is speaking truth in his heart;

¹ {Davidic{ Judge me, O Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in Yahweh; I shall not totter."

¹¹ As for me, I shall walk in my integrity. Ransom me, and be gracious to me."

²⁶ The entire day he is generous and obliging, And his seed becomes a blessing."

² His seed shall become masterful in the land; The generation of the upright, it shall be blessed."

²² The good man leaves an allotment to his sons' sons, Yet the sinner's estate is stored up for the righteous one."

² He who walks in uprightness fears Yahweh, Yet he who deviates in his ways despises Him."

¹ Better one who is destitute who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse with his lips, who also is stupid."

¹⁵ He who goes in righteousness, and speaks equities, who rejects the gain of extortions, who shakes his palms from upholding a bribe, who contracts his ear from hearkening to blood plans, and restrains his eyes from seeing evil--"

³⁹ and I have given to them one heart, and one way, to fear Me all the days, for good to them, and to their sons after them:"

⁶ Now they were both just in front of God, going in all the precepts and just statutes of the Lord, blameless."

³⁹ For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all those afar, whosoever the Lord our God should be calling to Him."

¹² For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, yet more superabundantly toward you."

¹¹ For the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity, ¹² training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon,

³ For I rejoiced very much at the brethren's coming and testifying to your truth, according as you are walking in truth." ⁴ I am having no greater joy than this, that I am hearing of my children walking in the truth."

³ And David's men say unto him, `Lo, we here in Judah are afraid; and how much more when we go to Keilah, unto the ranks of the Philistines?. <sup>4</sup> And David adds again to ask at Yahweh, and Yahweh answers him, and said, `Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into your hand..

⁴ And as the light of morning he rises, A morning sun--no clouds! By the shining, by the rain, Tender grass of the earth!"

⁴ May he redress the humbled of the people; May he save the sons of the needy And crush the exploiter.

⁹ For behold, Your enemies, O Yahweh, For behold, Your enemies, they shall perish! All contrivers of lawlessness shall be routed!"

⁴ And the strong King, Who loves right judgment! You Yourself have established equity; You Yourself have executed right judgment and righteousness in Jacob."

⁶ My eyes are with the faithful of the land, to dwell with me; He who is going in a flawless way, he shall minister for me." ⁷ One doing deceit shall not dwell within my house; One speaking falsehoods shall not be established in front of my eyes. ⁸ In the mornings I shall efface all the wicked of the land, To cut off from the city of Yahweh all contrivers of lawlessness."

¹² It is an abhorrence to kings to do wickedness, For by righteousness is a throne established."

²⁶ A wise king winnows the wicked And turns about the wheel over them.

⁵ Remove away the wicked one from before the king, And his throne shall be established in righteousness."

¹⁴ If a king judges the poor in truth, His throne shall be established for the future."

¹ Behold! For justice, a king shall reign, and chiefs for judgment shall control."

⁴⁶ `When they sin against You (for there is not a man who sins not), and You have been angry with them, and have given them up before an enemy, and they have taken captive their captivity unto the land of the enemy far off or near;"

³⁶ `When they sin against You--for there is not a man who sins not--and You have been angry with them, and have given them before an enemy, and taken them captive have their captors, unto a land far off or near;"

⁴ Who can bring what is clean from the unclean? No one.

¹⁴ What is a mortal that he should be purged, Or that one born of a woman should be justified?

⁴ How then can a mortal be righteous before El, And how can one born of woman be pure?

⁵ Behold, I was with depravity when I was travailed in birth, And in sin when my mother conceived me."

²⁰ For there is no righteous man in the earth Who does good and never sins.

⁴ For of nothing am I conscious as to myself, but not by this am I justified. Now He Who is examining me is the Lord."

² For we all are tripping much. If anyone is not tripping in word, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also."

⁸ If we should be saying that we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." ⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice." ¹⁰ If we should be saying that we have not sinned, we are making Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

³⁵ You shall not do iniquity in judgment of standards in measure, in weight or in quantity.

²⁵ You shall burn the carvings of their elohim with fire. You shall not covet the silver and gold on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be trapped by it, for it is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim. ²⁶ You shall not bring an abhorrence into your house, or you will become doomed just like it is. You shall reject it as abominable, yea abominable; you shall reject it as abhorrent, yea abhorrent, for it is doomed.

¹³ You shall not come to have in your purse a stone and another stone, a large and a small. ¹⁴ You shall not come to have in your house an ephah and another ephah, a large and a small. ¹⁵ You shall come to have a standard weight equitable and just; you shall come to have an ephah equitable and just, that your days may be prolonged on the ground that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you.

¹ Deceitful scales are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet an equitable standard weight is acceptable to Him."

¹¹ Balance and duly just scales are Yahweh's. All the standard weights of the purse are His work.

²³ An abhorrence to Yahweh is a standard weight differing with standard weight, And deceitful scales are not good."

⁴ Hear this, you who are snuffing up the needy in the morning, and who eradicate the humble of the land, ⁵ saying, when will the new moon pass, that we may retail victuals, and the sabbath, that we may open out the cereal, to make the ephah measure small, and to make the shekel weight great, and to distort the scales by deceit, ⁶ to buy the poor for silver, and the needy for the sake of a pair of sandals? Even the tailings of the cereal we will retail!" ⁷ Yahweh swears by the pomp of Jacob, if I shall forget permanently any of their doings--!"

¹⁰ Are there yet in the house of the wicked treasures of wickedness and an ephah of leanness, a menace? ¹¹ Shall I be pure with wicked scales? And with a purse of deceitful standard weights?

⁸ Yet the timid, and unbelievers, and the abominable, and murderers, and paramours, and enchanters, and idolaters, and all the false-their part is in the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death."

³ From the womb, the wicked are estranged; From the belly, they stray who are speaking a lie."

⁸ Devious is the way of a man laden with guilt, Yet spotless is the upright man in his deeds."

¹⁵ Folly is tied to the heart of a youth; The club of discipline shall put it far from him.

¹⁶ From their fruits you shall be recognizing them. Not from thorns are they culling grapes, nor from star thistles figs."

¹⁵ for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord. And wine and intoxicant may he under no circumstances be drinking, and with holy spirit shall he be filled while still of his mother's womb."

⁶⁶ And all who hear pondered in their hearts, saying, "What, consequently, will this little boy be?For the hand also of the Lord was with him."

⁴⁶ And it occurred, after three days they found Him in the sanctuary, seated in the midst of the teachers, hearing them, as well as inquiring of them." ⁴⁷ Now amazed are all those hearing Him at His understanding and answers.

⁴³ For an ideal tree is not producing rotten fruit; again, neither is a rotten tree producing ideal fruit." ⁴⁴ For each tree is known by its own fruit. For not from thorns are they culling figs, neither from a thorn bush are they picking grapes."

¹¹ Yahweh said to him: Who make the mouth for a human or Who is making one mute or deaf or with eye unclosed or blind? Is it not I, Yahweh?

⁹ The One Who planted the ear, shall He not hear? Or the One Who formed the eye, shall He not look?

¹⁸ Expose my eyes that I may scrutinize The marvels of Your law.

¹³ Therefore in parables am I speaking to them, seeing that, observing, they are not observing, and hearing, they are not hearing, neither are they understanding." ¹⁴ And filled up in them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that is saying, '"In hearing, you will be hearing, and may by no means be understanding, And observing, you will be observing, and may by no means be perceiving." ¹⁵ For stoutened is the heart of this people, And with their ears heavily they hear, And with their eyes they squint, Lest at some time they may be perceiving with their eyes, And with their ears should be hearing, And with their heart may be understanding, And should be turning about, And I shall be healing them.'" ¹⁶ Yet happy are your eyes, for they are observing, and your ears, for they are hearing."

¹⁸ to open their eyes, to turn them about from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, for them to get a pardon of sins and an allotment among those who have been hallowed by faith that is in Me.'"

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may be giving you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the realization of Him, ¹⁸ the eyes of your heart having been enlightened, for you to perceive what is the expectation of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of the enjoyment of His allotment among the saints,

⁹ How long shall you lie down, O slothful one? When shall you rise from your sleep?

¹¹ He who serves his ground shall be satisfied with bread, Yet he who pursues empty dreams lacks heart wisdom."

³⁰ I passed by the field of the slothful man, And by the vineyard of the man who lacked heart understanding, ³¹ And behold, all of it came up with sting nettles, Prickly acanthus covered its surface, And its barrier-wall of stones was pulled down." ³² Then I myself set my heart on what I was perceiving; I took admonition from what I saw: ³³ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands, to lie at rest, ³⁴ And your destitution will come like a wayfarer, And your lack like a man with a shield."

⁶ Yet the navigator is coming near to him, and is saying to him, What is it to you, stupefied one! Rise! Call to your Elohim! Perhaps the Elohim will reconsider as to us, and we will not perish."

¹¹ in diligence not slothful, fervent in spirit, slaving for the Lord,

¹¹ This, also, do, being aware of the era, that it is already the hour for us to be roused out of sleep, for now is our salvation nearer than when we believe."

³⁴ Sober up justly and do not be sinning, for some have an ignorance of God. To abash you am I saying it."

¹⁴ Wherefore He is saying, 'Rouse! O drowsy one, and rise from among the dead, and Christ shall dawn upon you!'"

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave this charge to you: that "If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat."

¹⁰ Is there anything of which one may say:See this, it is new? It has already occurred In eons that were before us?

⁷ Ephraim is a trafficker; in his hand are scales of deceit; he loves to extort. ⁸ And Ephraim is saying, Yea, I am rich; I find virility for myself; all is my labor. They will not find with me depravity which is sin."

⁶ No one is to be circumventing and overreaching his brother in the matter, because the Lord is the Avenger of all these, according as we said to you before also, and certify,

¹² But wisdom, where can it be found? And just where is the place of understanding? ¹³ Mortal man does not know its appraisal, And it is not being found in the land of the living. ¹⁴ The abyss says, It is not in me! And the sea says, There is no such thing with me!" ¹⁵ Solid gold cannot be given instead of it, And silver cannot be weighed as its price. ¹⁶ It cannot be classed with certified gold of Ophir, Or with precious onyx and sapphire. ¹⁷ Neither gold or glass can be its appraisal, Or articles of glittering gold its exchange. ¹⁸ Coral and crystal, such is not even mentioned; Wisdom is more attractive than rubies. ¹⁹ Peridot of Ethiopia is not its appraisal; With pure certified gold it cannot be classed.

¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, So that all your desires are not equal to her."

¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies, And all delights are not equal to her."

²⁰ Choice silver is the tongue of the righteous one; The heart wisdom of the wicked is of little value. ²¹ The lips of the righteous, they shepherd many, Yet the foolish die from lack of heart wisdom."

⁷ The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, Yet not so the heart of the stupid."

²³ Rejoicing comes to a man in the apt response of his mouth, And a word in its season, how good!"

¹⁶ To acquire wisdom, how much better than fine gold, And to acquire understanding, more to be chosen than silver!"

²¹ The one wise of heart shall be called an understanding man, And sweetness of lips shall add to his influence."

²⁴ Pleasant sayings are honey of the comb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

¹² A pendant of gold and an eardrop of certified gold Is the reproof of a wise man upon a hearkening ear.

⁹ Yet furthermore, because the Assembler was wise, He still taught the people knowledge, And he listened and investigated And set in order many proverbs." ¹⁰ The Assembler sought to find words of delight, And what was written is uprightness and words of truth." ¹¹ The words of the wise are like goad points, And like imbedded bolts for the possessors of gathered sayings They are given by one shepherd."

¹⁴ How, then, should they be invoking One in Whom they do not believe? Yet how should they be believing One of Whom they do not hear? Yet how should they be hearing apart from one heralding? ¹⁵ Yet how should they be heralding if ever they should not be commissioned? According as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those bringing an evangel of good!

²⁹ Let no tainted word at all be issuing out of your mouth, but if any is good toward needful edification, that it may be giving grace to those hearing."

²⁶ If you take in pledge, yea in pledge the raiment of your associate, previous to sunset you shall restore it to him, ²⁷ for it is his only covering. It is his garment for his skin: wherein shall he lie? When it comes to be that he is crying to Me, then I will hear, for I am gracious.

¹⁶ This will also rescue you from the strange woman, Or from the foreign woman who makes her words slick,

³ For the lips of a strange woman drop as the honeycomb, And the words of her palate are slicker than oil."

⁵ In order to keep you from the strange woman, From the foreign woman who makes her sayings slick."

¹⁰ And behold, a woman came out to meet him In the burnoose of a prostitute and constricted of heart."

¹⁵ He shall be imperiled with evil when one is surety for an alien, Yet he who hates clasping a pledger's hand dwells in trust."

²⁶ Do not be among those who clasp the palm in pledge, Among those who are surety for loans;" ²⁷ If you have nothing to make a repayment, Why have your bed taken from under you?

²⁷ For the prostitute is a deep pit, And the foreign woman is a narrow well."

¹³ Take his cloak, for he has become surety for an alien, And since it is in behalf of a foreign woman, hold it in pledge."

⁶ And seeing is the woman that the tree is good for food, and that it brings a yearning to the eyes, and is to be coveted as the tree to make one intelligent. And taking is she of its fruit and is eating, and she is giving, moreover, to her husband with her, and they are eating." ⁷ And unclosing are their eyes, they two, and knowing are they that they are naked. And sewing are they fig leaves and making for themselves girdle skirts."

¹² Even if evil is sweet in his mouth, And he suppresses it under his tongue, ¹³ Though he spares it and does not forsake it, And he holds fast to it in the midst of his palate, ¹⁴ Yet his bread shall turn sour in his bowels, The bile of cobras within him. ¹⁵ The estate he has swallowed down, he shall vomit it up; El shall evict it from his belly. ¹⁶ He shall suck the poison of cobras; The tongue of a puff-adder shall kill him. ¹⁷ He shall not see the rillets, The streams of watercourses flowing with honey and clotted cream. ¹⁸ He must return the fruit of his labor and not swallow it down, And in the estate of his commerce, he has no enjoyment. ¹⁹ For he has maltreated, he has forsaken the poor; He has pillaged a house which he did not build. ²⁰ For he has not known ease from the craving of his belly; From his coveting, he has not tried to escape.

¹⁷ Indeed they dine on the bread of wickedness, And they drink the wine of violent acts."

¹⁷ Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in concealments is pleasant." ¹⁸ But he does not know that the Rephaim are there, That those she has called are in the depths of the unseen."

⁹ Rejoice, choice youth, in your childhood, And let your heart be well in the days of your prime; Walk in the ways of your heart and by the sight of your eyes, Yet know that for all these the One, Elohim, shall bring you into judgment."

¹⁵ He surfeits me with bitter herbs; He satiates me with wormwood. ¹⁶ He is breaking up my teeth on gravel; He makes me fare on ashes;

²⁵ preferring rather to be maltreated with the people of God than to have a temporary enjoyment of sin,

¹ And it comes to pass, after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel ask at Yahweh, saying, `Who does go up for us unto the Canaanite, at the commencement, to fight against it?. <sup>2</sup> And Yahweh said, `Judah does go up; lo, I have given the land into his hand..

²⁹ and oh that this people were in my hand--then I turn Abimelech aside;' and he said to Abimelech, `Increase your host, and come out..

⁷ lo, you [are] all sons of Israel; give for you a word and counsel here..

¹⁸ And they rise and go up to Beth-El, and ask of Elohim, and the sons of Israel say, `Who does go up for us at the commencement to battle with the sons of Benjamin?' and Yahweh said, `Judah--at the commencement..

²³ And the sons of Israel go up and weep before Yahweh till the evening, and ask of Yahweh, saying, `Do I add to draw nigh to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother?' And Yahweh said, `Go up against him..

²⁶ And all the sons of Israel go up, even all the people, and come in to Beth-El, and weep, and sit there before Yahweh, and fast on that day till the evening, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Yahweh. ²⁷ And the sons of Israel ask of Yahweh, --and there [is] the ark of the covenant of Elohim in those days, ²⁸ and Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, is standing before it in those days--saying, `Do I add again to go out to battle with the sons of Benjamin, my brother, or do I cease?' And Yahweh said, `Go up, for to-morrow I give him into your hand..

²⁶ and Abner calls unto Joab, and said, `For ever does the sword consume? have you not known that it is bitterness in the latter end? and till when do you not say to the people to turn back from after their brethren?. <sup>27</sup> And Joab said, `Elohim lives! for unless you hadst spoken, surely then from the morning had the people gone up each from after his brother..

¹⁷ And Amaziah king of Judah takes counsel, and sends unto Joash son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, ¹⁸ `Come, we look one another in the face.' And Joash king of Israel sends unto Amaziah king of Judah, saying, `The thorn that [is] in Lebanon has sent unto the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son for a wife; and pass by does a beast of the field that [is] in Lebanon, and treads down the thorn. ¹⁹ You have said, Lo, I have smitten Edom; and your heart has lifted you up to boast; now, abide in your house, why do you stir yourself up in evil, that you have fallen, you, and Judah with you?. ²⁰ And Amaziah has not hearkened, for from Elohim it [is] in order to give them into hand, because they have sought the elohims of Edom;" ²¹ and go up does Joash king of Israel, and they look one another in the face, he and Amaziah king of Judah, in Beth-Shemesh, that [is] Judah's, ²² and Judah is smitten before Israel, and they flee--each to his tents. ²³ And Amaziah king of Judah, son of Joash, son of Jehoahaz, has Joash king of Israel caught in Beth-Shemesh, and brings him in to Jerusalem, and breaks down in the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the gate of the corner, four hundred cubits,

¹⁴ When there are no strategies a people shall fall, Yet in many counsellors there is safety."

²² Designs are quashed when there is no deliberation, Yet with many counselors each plan shall be confirmed."

⁶ For you execute war for yourself according to strategy, And in many counselors there is safety."

⁸ Do not speak forth hastily to many; For what shall you do in its end, When your associate confounds you?

³¹ Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, will not, being seated, first plan to see if he is able to meet, with ten thousand, him who is coming against him with twenty thousand?

¹⁶ You shall not go about as a defamer among your kinsmen; you shall not stand against the blood of your associate:I am Yahweh.

¹³ He who goes about as a defamer reveals secret deliberation, Yet one faithful of spirit covers a confidential matter."

³ He who constricts his mouth guards his soul; He who distends his lips, it is catastrophe for him."

²⁹ A malicious man entices his associate And leads him in a way that is not good;

⁸ The words of a babbler are like tidbits; They descend to the chambers of one's belly.

²¹ Fear Yahweh, my son, and the king; With both of them do not be enraged;"

²⁰ When the wood reaches its limit, a fire is quenched, And when there is no babbler, a quarrel calms down." ²¹ Coal for embers and wood for fire, And a quarrelsome man to heat a contention." ²² The words of a babbler are like tidbits; They descend to the chambers of one's belly.

¹⁸ for such for our Lord Christ are not slaving, but for their own bowels, and through compliments and adulation are deluding the hearts of the innocent."

¹² Glorify your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged on the ground which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you.

¹⁷ The one maledicting his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death.

⁹ For any man who shall maledict his father or his mother shall be put to death, yea death. It is his father and his mother whom he maledicts; his blood-guilt will be on him.

¹⁶ Cursed be the one dishonoring his father or his mother. Then all the people shall say:Amen!

⁵ Indeed the light of the wicked shall be extinguished, And the flare of his fire shall not brighten. ⁶ The light in his tent, it will become dark, And his lamp above him, it shall be extinguished.

¹⁸ They shall thrust him from light into darkness, And they shall chase him from the habitance.

⁹ The light of the righteous is radiant, Yet the lamp of the wicked is extinguished."

²⁰ For there shall be no good end for the evil man; The lamp of the wicked shall be extinguished.

¹¹ There is a breed of men that maledict their father And do not bless even their mother;

¹⁷ The eye that derides a father And despises the homage due a mother--The ravens of the watercourse shall pick it out, And the vultures shall eat it."

⁴ For God said, 'Honor father and mother,' and, 'He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death.'"

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Binding his feet and hands, cast him out into outer darkness.' There shall be lamentation and gnashing of teeth."

⁸ Now the stupid said to the prudent, 'Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.'"

¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, He who is saying aught that is evil of father or mother, let him decease in death." ¹¹ Yet you are saying, 'If a man should be saying to father or mother, "A corban (which is an approach present) is whatsoever you may be benefitted by me,'" ¹² no longer are you letting him do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³ invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you give over. And many such like things you are doing."

¹³ wild billows of the sea, frothing forth their own shame; straying stars, for whom the gloom of darkness has been kept for an eon."

¹⁶ If he piles up silver like soil And makes ready clothing like clay, ¹⁷ He shall make it ready, yet the righteous one shall put it on, And the innocent one shall apportion the silver.

⁴ Do not weary yourself in order to become rich; In your understanding forbear.

⁸ He who increases his wealth by interest and by increase Is getting it together for him who is gracious to the poor.

²⁰ A faithful man shall have many blessings, Yet he who rushes to be rich shall not be held innocent."

²² A man who is stingy of eye is rash to get wealth, Yet he does not know that want shall come to him."

⁶ Shall not these, all of them, take up a proverb against him, and mocking problems for him? And they will say:Woe to the one increasing what is not his! Till when? And to him making heavy his yoke with security!"

⁴ I will bring it forth, (averring is Yahweh of hosts), and it enters into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears in My name falsely, and it lodges in the midst of his house, and it consumes it and its timbers and its stones."

² If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart to give glory to My name, says Yahweh of hosts, then I will send among you the curse. And I will curse your blessings. And, moreover, I have cursed them, and I will annul them, for you are not taking it to heart, and it shall not come among you."

⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction."

³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them.

¹² it may be Yahweh does look on mine affliction, and Yahweh has turned back to me good for his reviling this day..

¹⁴ Be expectant toward Yahweh; Be steadfast, and let your heart be resolute. Yea, be expectant toward Yahweh."

³⁴ Be expectant toward Yahweh, and keep His way, And He shall exalt you to tenant the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it."

¹³ If one returns evil for good, Evil shall not remove itself from his house."

²⁹ Do not say, Just as he did to me, so shall I do to him; I shall render to the man according to his deeds."

³¹ Yet those stretching toward Yahweh will vary their vigor, and they shall ascend on pinions as vultures. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall go, and not faint."

²⁵ Yahweh is good to those who are expectant, to the soul that seeks after Him;" ²⁶ It is good that one should wait in stillness for the salvation of Yahweh;

³⁹ Yet I am saying to you not to withstand a wicked person, but anyone who slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.

¹⁷ To no one render evil for evil, making ideal provision in the sight of all men, ¹⁸ if possible that which comes out from yourselves. Being at peace with all mankind, ¹⁹ you are not avenging yourselves, beloved, but be giving place to His indignation, for it is written, Mine is vengeance! I will repay! the Lord is saying. "

¹⁵ See that no one may be rendering evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue that which is good for one another as well as for all."

²³ Who, being reviled, reviled not again; suffering, threatened not, yet gave it over to Him Who is judging justly,

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but, on the contrary, blessing, seeing that you were called for this, that you should be enjoying the allotment of blessing,

¹⁹ So that, let those also who are suffering according to the will of God commit their souls to a faithful Creator in the doing of good."

¹⁰ Standard weight differing with standard weight, ephah with ephah, An abhorrence to Yahweh are they both."

¹⁰ Just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath--you have."

⁷ Ephraim is a trafficker; in his hand are scales of deceit; he loves to extort.

⁵ saying, when will the new moon pass, that we may retail victuals, and the sabbath, that we may open out the cereal, to make the ephah measure small, and to make the shekel weight great, and to distort the scales by deceit,

⁴ Acquaint me with Your ways, O Yahweh; Teach me Your paths."

¹² Whatever man this is who is fearing Yahweh, He shall direct him in the way he should choose;"

²³ By Yahweh are the steps of a master prepared, And in His way shall he delight."

⁸ The wisdom of the prudent man is to give consideration to his way, Yet the folly of the stupid is self-deceit."

⁹ A man's heart devises his way, Yet Yahweh establishes his steps."

⁶ Among a nation polluted will I send him. And against a people, object of My rage, will I instruct him. To loot loot and to plunder plunder, and to place them for tramping, as the clay of the streets." ⁷ Yet he, not so is he planning, and his heart, not so is devising, for to exterminate is in his heart, and to cut off nations not a few."

²³ I have known, O Yahweh, that not of man [is] his way, Not of man the going and establishing of his step."

²³ Over the Lord, the Eloah of the heavens, you exalt yourself; the vessels of His house they bring hither before you; you and your grandees, your consorts and your concubines are drinking turbid wine from them. Also elohim of silver, gold, copper, iron, wood, and stone who are not perceiving and not hearing and not knowing, these you laud, yet the Eloah in Whose hand is your breath, and for Whom are all your paths, Him you do not honor."

²⁸ for in Him we are living and moving and are, as some poets of yours also have declared, 'For of that race also are we.'"

¹⁵ When a soul offends with an offense and sins inadvertently in any of the holy things of Yahweh, then he will bring as his guilt offering to Yahweh, a flawless ram from the flock, by your appraisal in silver shekels by the shekel of the holy place, as a guilt offering.

¹⁰ Nor shall any alien eat the holy thing; that is, a priest's guest or hireling shall not eat the holy thing. ¹¹ Yet when a priest buys a soul, an acquisition with his silver, he may eat of it; also his homeborn, they may eat of his bread. ¹² In case a daughter of a priest comes to have an alien husband, she may not eat of the heave offering of the holy things. ¹³ Yet in case the daughter of the priest becomes a widow or is driven out and she has no seed and so she returns to the house of her father as in her youth, of her father's bread she may eat, yet no alien at all may eat of it. ¹⁴ And in case someone eats a holy thing inadvertently then he shall add a fifth of its value to it and restitute the holy thing to the priest. ¹⁵ They shall not profane the holy things of the sons of Israel which they are raising up to Yahweh

⁹ If the vow involves a domestic beast from which they bring near an approach present to Yahweh, all of what one gives to Yahweh, it shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not exchange it nor substitute for it, a good for a bad one or a bad for a good one. And if he should substitute, yea substitute beast for beast, then it has become holy; both it and its substitute shall be holy.

³⁰ As for all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land and of the fruit of the tree, it is Yahweh's; it is holy to Yahweh. ³¹ And if a man should redeem, yea redeem any part of his tithe, a fifth of it shall he add to it.

² In case a man vows a vow to Yahweh or swears an oath to bind a bond on his soul, he shall not profane his word. According to all coming forth from his mouth shall he do. ³ And in case a woman vows a vow to Yahweh and binds herself by a bond in the house of her father in her youth, ⁴ and her father hears about her vow or her bond which she has bound on her soul but her father is silent toward her, then all her vows are confirmed, and every bond which she has bound on her soul shall be confirmed. ⁵ Yet if her father repudiates her vow on the day he hears about it, all her vows and her bonds which she has bound on her soul shall not be confirmed, and Yahweh will pardon her, seeing that her father repudiated her act. ⁶ If it be that she should become a man's while her vows are on her or the talk of her lips which she has bound on her soul, ⁷ and her husband hears about it, yet on the day he hears he is silent toward her, then all her vows are confirmed, and her bond which she has bound on her soul shall be confirmed. ⁸ Yet if, on the day her husband hears about it, he repudiates her act, then he annuls her vow which is on her or the talk of her lips which she has bound on her soul, and Yahweh shall pardon her. ⁹ The vow of a widow or one driven out, all which she binds on her soul shall be confirmed on her. ¹⁰ Yet if, in the house of her husband, she vows or binds a bond on her soul by an oath, ¹¹ and her husband hears about it but is silent toward her and does not repudiate her act, then all her vows are confirmed, and every bond which she has bound on her soul shall be confirmed. ¹² Yet if her husband annuls, yea annuls them on the day he hears about them, then no utterance at all from her lips concerning her vows or the bond of her soul shall be confirmed. Her husband has annulled them, and Yahweh shall pardon her. ¹³ Every vow and every oath of binding to humiliate the soul, her husband shall confirm it or her husband shall annul it. ¹⁴ And if her husband is silent, yea silent toward her from day to day then he confirms all her vows or all her bonds which are on her; he has confirmed them, for he was silent toward her on the day he heard about it. ¹⁵ Yet if he annuls, yea annuls them after he heard about it, then he will bear her depravity. ¹⁶ These are the statutes which Yahweh had instructed Moses between a man and his wife and between a father and his daughter in her youth in her father's house.

⁷ The mouth of a stupid man is his undoing, And his lips are a trap for his soul."

⁴ When you vow a vow to Elohim, do not delay to pay it, For there is no delight in those who are stupid; That which you vow, pay." ⁵ It is better that you should not vow Than that you should vow and not pay. ⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin, And do not protest before the temple messenger that it was an error. Why should the One, Elohim, be wrathful at your voice And bring harm to the work of your hands?

⁸ Will a human defraud Elohim? For you are defrauding Me. Yet you say, In what way do we defraud You? In the tithe and the heave offering!" ⁹ With a curse you curse Me, and Me you are defrauding--the nation, all of it." ¹⁰ Then bring the entire tithe to the treasure house, and viands will come to be in My house. And test Me, I pray, in this, says Yahweh of hosts, if I will not open for you crevices in the heavens and I empty for you a blessing till there is insufficient storage."

³³ "Again, you hear that it was declared to the ancients, You shall not be perjuring, yet you shall be paying to the Lord your oaths.

⁹ And David answers Rechab and Baanah his brother, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, `Yahweh lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity, ¹⁰ when one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him [for] the tidings. ¹¹ Also--when wicked men have slain the righteous man in his own house, on his bed; and now, do not I require his blood of your hand, and have taken you away from the earth?. ¹² And David commands the young men, and they slay them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hang [them] over the pool in Hebron, and the head of Ish-Bosheth they have taken, and bury [it] in the burying-place of Abner in Hebron.

³¹ and the people who [are] in it he has brought out, and sets to the saw, and to cutting instruments of iron, and to axes of iron, and has caused them to pass over into the brick-kiln; and so he does to all the cities of the Bene-Ammon; and David turns back, and all the people, to Jerusalem.

⁵ The one slandering his associate in secret, I shall efface him. The haughty of eyes and inflated of heart, I shall not endure him."

⁸ A king sitting on his throne of adjudication Winnows out all evil with his eyes.

²⁷ For not with spikes is the sesame threshed, nor is the wheel of a car on the cumin rolled around, for with a rod the sesame is beaten out, and the cumin with a club." ²⁸ Will bread grain be pulverized? For the thresher is not permanently threshing it, nor clamors the roller of his car, and with his horsemen he is not pulverizing it."

⁷ And forming is Yahweh Elohim the human of soil from the ground, and He is blowing into his nostrils the breath of the living, and becoming is the human a living soul.

⁸ But surely it is the spirit in a mortal, And the breath of Him Who Suffices that gives them understanding.

³⁰ Welts and injury are the scouring agents against evil, And blows purge the chambers of the inner being."

¹⁵ who are displaying the action of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying together and their reckonings between one another, accusing or defending them,

² But we spurn the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor yet adulterating the word of God, but, by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in God's sight." ³ Now, if our evangel is covered, also, it is covered in those who are perishing, ⁴ in whom the god of this eon blinds the apprehensions of the unbelieving so that the illumination of the evangel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of the invisible God, does not irradiate them." ⁵ For we are not heralding ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, yet ourselves your slaves because of Jesus, ⁶ for the God Who says that, out of darkness light shall be shining, is He Who shines in our hearts, with a view to the illumination of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

¹² For the word of God is living and operative, and keen above any two-edged sword, and penetrating up to the parting of soul and spirit, both of the articulations and marrow, and is a judge of the sentiments and thoughts of the heart." ¹³ And there is not a creature which is not apparent in its sight. Now all is naked and bare to the eyes of Him to Whom we are accountable.

¹⁹ And in this shall we be knowing that we are of the truth and shall be persuading our hearts in front of Him, ²⁰ seeing that, if our heart should be censuring us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all." ²¹ Beloved, if our heart should not be censuring us, we have boldness toward God,

⁷ For the king is trusting in Yahweh, And in the benignity of the Supreme he shall not slip at all."

⁷ May he dwell for the eon before Elohim; Assign benignity and faithfulness that they may preserve him.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Of benignity and judgment shall I sing; To You, O Yahweh, will I make melody."

⁶ By benignity and faithfulness depravity shall be sheltered, And by the fear of Yahweh a man will withdraw from evil."

⁵ And prepared by kindness is a throne, and seated on it in truth, in the tent of David, is a judge. And he inquires for judgment, and swift is justice."

³² In the presence of the greyhaired shall you rise and honor the face of the old. You will fear your Elohim:I am Yahweh.

³¹ Grey hair is a crown of beauty; It is found in the way of righteousness.

²³ Thus said Yahweh:Let not the wise boast himself in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty boast himself in his might, Let not the rich boast himself in his riches, ²⁴ But--in this let the boaster boast himself, In understanding and knowing Me, For I [am] Yahweh, doing kindness, Judgment, and righteousness, in the earth, For in these I have delighted, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁴ I write to you, fathers, seeing that you know Him Who is from the beginning. I write to you, youths, seeing that you are strong and the word of God is remaining in you, and you have conquered the wicked one."

²⁵ You smite a mocker, and a simple man shall become prudent; Reprove one of understanding, and he shall understand more knowledge."

⁹ Wherefore, in this will be a propitiatory shelter for the depravity of the house of Jacob, and this is My propitiatory shelter, to take away his sin. When he makes all the stones of the altar as chalk stones shattered, the fetishes of happiness and warmed horn altars will not rise."

⁵ Yet He was wounded because of our transgressions, and crushed because of our depravities. The discipline for our welfare was on Him, and by His welts there is healing for us."

¹⁰ For these, indeed, disciplined for a few days as it seemed best to them, yet that One for our expedience, for us to be partaking of His holiness."
