³ For the wicked one boasts over the lusting of his soul, And the greedy one scorns, Yea, he spurns Yahweh.

⁹ The enemy said: I shall pursue! I shall overtake! I shall apportion the loot! My soul's desire shall be fulfilled on them! I shall unsheathe my sword! My hand shall evict them!

³⁰ I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you.

¹⁹ And it will come to be when he hears the words of this imprecation that he will bless himself in his heart, saying:I shall come to have peace, though I am going in the obduracy of my own heart, seeing that the satiated may be swept up with the thirsty.

¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters.

²¹ And Saul said, `Blessed [are] you of Yahweh, for you have pity on me;"

²⁴ If I have made gold my confidence, And I have said to pure gold:My trust,

⁶ You shall destroy all those speaking a lie. Yahweh abhors a man of bloodshed and deceit.

²¹ They widen their mouth against me; They say, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it."

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches?

¹¹ Their tombs are their houses for the eon, Their tabernacles for generation after generation, Those who had called their grounds after their names." ¹² But the human, in his self-esteem, is not understanding at all; He is comparable to the beasts that are dumb." ¹³ This is their way, their stupidity, And of those after them, who approve of their mouthings. {Interlude{ "

¹⁸ For his soul, it was blessed in his lifetime, {And they acclaim you while you are doing well for yourself{"

¹ {Contemplating, Davidic{ {When Doeg the Edomite came to tell Saul, saying to him, David has come to the house of Ahimelech.{ Why are you boasting in evil, O masterful man? Only the benignity of El lasts the entire day."

⁸ They belittle and speak with evil intent; From their height they are plotting extortion. ⁹ They set their mouth in the heavens, And their tongue is going about the earth."

⁴ Shall they utter, shall they speak with impertinence, Shall they vaunt themselves, All these contrivers of lawlessness?

⁴ Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, Yet those who keep the law struggle against them."

⁷ Yet he, not so is he planning, and his heart, not so is devising, for to exterminate is in his heart, and to cut off nations not a few." ⁸ For saying is he, "Are not my chiefs altogether kings? ⁹ Is not, as Carchemish, Calno? Should not, as Arphad, be Hamath? Should not, as Damascus, be Samaria? ¹⁰ As my hand found all the kingdoms of the forbidden idols, and their carvings, more than Jerusalem's and than Samaria's, ¹¹ shall I not, as I did to Samaria and to her forbidden idols, so do to Jerusalem and to her grief fetishes?

²³ Whom do you reproach and taunt? And against Whom do you raise high your voice? And you are lifting up your eyes to the height against the Holy One of Israel?

¹⁷ At his depravity, for a moment, I was wroth, and I am smiting him. And I conceal My face from him and am wroth when he is going, backsliding in the way of his heart."

¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart are not, Except on your dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence."

⁷ Ephraim is a trafficker; in his hand are scales of deceit; he loves to extort. ⁸ And Ephraim is saying, Yea, I am rich; I find virility for myself; all is my labor. They will not find with me depravity which is sin."

¹⁰ Are there yet in the house of the wicked treasures of wickedness and an ephah of leanness, a menace? ¹¹ Shall I be pure with wicked scales? And with a purse of deceitful standard weights? ¹² For its rich men are full of wrong, and its dwellers speak falsehood, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth."

⁹ Woe to him gaining an evil gain for his house in order to place his nest in the height, to be rescued from the clutch of evil!"

⁵ whose acquirers will kill, yet will not be guilty. And their sellers will say, Blessed is Yahweh! And we shall be rich! And their own shepherds shall not spare them." ⁶ For I will no longer spare the dwellers of the land, (averring is Yahweh). And behold! I am causing humans to be found, each in the hand of his associate, and in the hand of his king. And they shall pound the land to pieces, yet I will not rescue from their hand." ⁷ And I will graze the flock for the killing, for the traffickers of the flock. And I am taking myself two sticks. One I call Pleasantness, and one I called Pledgers. And I am grazing the flock." ⁸ And I am suppressing three shepherds in one month. Yet my soul is impatient with them; and, moreover, their soul is nauseated with me."

¹⁵ Now they weigh for him thirty pieces of silver. ¹⁶ And thenceforth he sought an opportunity that he may be giving Him up.

¹⁵ Now He said to them, "See and guard against all greed, for one's life is not in the superfluity of his possessions."

¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'"

¹⁴ Now the Pharisees also, inherently fond of money, heard all these things, and they scouted Him." ¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who are justifying yourselves in the sight of men, yet God knows your hearts, for what is high among men is an abomination in the sight of God."

²⁹ filled with all injustice, wickedness, evil, greed, distended with envy, murder, strife, guile, depravity, whisperers,

³² those who, recognizing the just statute of God, that those committing such things are deserving of death, not only are doing them, but are endorsing, also, those who are committing them."

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards; no revilers, no extortioners shall be enjoying the allotment of God's kingdom."

⁵ For this you perceive, knowing that no paramour at all or unclean or greedy person, who is an idolater, has any enjoyment of the allotment in the kingdom of Christ and of God."

⁵ Deaden, then, your members that are on the earth: prostitution, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and greed, which is idolatry,

⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction." ¹⁰ For a root of all of the evils is the fondness for money, which some, craving, were led astray from the faith and try themselves on all sides with much pain."

² for men will be selfish, fond of money, ostentatious, proud, calumniators, stubborn to parents, ungrateful, malign, ³ without natural affection, implacable, adversaries, uncontrollable, fierce, averse to the good, ⁴ traitors, rash, conceited, fond of their own gratification rather than fond of God;"

¹³ Come now, you who are saying, "Today or tomorrow we will be going into this or that city and should be spending a year there, and we will be trafficking and getting gain-"

¹⁶ Yet now you are vaunting in your ostentations. All such boasting is wicked.

¹⁵ Be not loving the world, neither that which is in the world. If ever anyone is loving the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
