¹² They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished like a fire of thorns. It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off.

⁴⁴ Yet the Amorite who was dwelling in that hill-country came forth to meet you; they pursued you just as bees do, and they pounded you in Seir as far as Hormah.

⁴⁵ And David said unto the Philistine, `You are coming unto me with sword, and with spear, and with buckler, and I am coming unto you in the name of Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of the ranks of Israel, which you have reproached.

⁶ As to the worthless--As a thorn driven away [are] all of them, For--not by hand are they taken;"

¹⁰ and David asks of Elohim, saying, `Do I go up against the Philistines--and have You given them into my hand?' And Yahweh said to him, `Go up, and I have given them into your hand.. ¹¹ And they go up into Baal-Perazim, and David smites them there, and David said, `Elohim has broken up mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters;' therefore they have called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.

¹⁴ and David asks again of Elohim, and Elohim said to him, `Do not go up after them, turn round from them, and you have come to them from over-against the mulberries;" ¹⁵ and it comes to pass, when you hear the sound of the stepping at the heads of the mulberries, then you go out into battle, for Elohim has gone out before you to smite the camp of the Philistines.. ¹⁶ And David does as Elohim commanded him, and they smite the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon even unto Gazer;"

¹¹ And Asa calls unto Yahweh his Elohim, and said, `Yahweh! it is nothing with You to help, between the mighty and those who have no power; help us, O Yahweh, our Elohim, for on You we have leant, and in Your name we have come against this multitude; O Yahweh, our Elohim you [are]; let him not prevail with You--mortal man!" ¹² And Yahweh smites the Cushim before Asa, and before Judah, and the Cushim flee,

⁷ And at that time has Hanani the seer come in unto Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, `Because of your leaning on the king of Aram, and you have not leaned on Yahweh your Elohim, therefore has the force of the king of Aram escaped from your hand. ⁸ Did not the Cushim and the Lubim become a very great force for multitude, for chariot, and for horsemen? and in your leaning on Yahweh He gave them into your hand, ⁹ for Yahweh--His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong [for] a people whose heart [is] perfect towards Him; you have been foolish concerning this, because--henceforth there are with you wars..

¹⁷ Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem--be not afraid nor fear you--to-morrow go out before them, and Yahweh [is] with you.. ¹⁸ And Jehoshaphat bows--face to the earth--and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem have fallen before Yahweh, to bow themselves to Yahweh. ¹⁹ And the Levites, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the sons of the Korhites, rise to give praise to Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, with a loud voice on high. ²⁰ And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat has stood and said, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Yahweh your Elohim, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper.. <sup>21</sup> And he takes counsel with the people, and appoints singers to Yahweh, and those giving praise to the honor of holiness, in the going out before the armed [men], and saying, `Give you thanks to Yahweh, for to the eon [is] His kindness.. ²² And at the time they have begun with singing and praise, Yahweh has put ambushments against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who are coming in to Judah, and they are smitten,

⁷ and from Elohim has been the destruction of Ahaziah, to come unto Joram:and in his coming he has gone out with Jehoram unto Jehu son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh anointed to cut off the house of Ahab. ⁸ And it comes to pass, in Jehu's executing judgment with the house of Ahab, that he finds the heads of Judah and sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, ministers of Ahaziah, and slays them.

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ May Yahweh answer you in a day of distress; May the Name of Jacob's Elohim be your impregnable retreat.

⁵ Let us be jubilant in your salvation, And in the Name of Elohim, may we raise a standard. May Yahweh fulfill all your requests."

⁹ Ere their pots could detect the boxthorn fire, Like a thistle, like a prickly acanthus, He shall toss him away in a tempest."

¹⁴ Like fire that consumes the wildwood, And like a blaze that sets the mountains aflame, ¹⁵ So pursue them with Your tempest And fill them with panic with Your sweeping whirlwind.

⁶ For as the sound of the briars under the pot, So is the mirth of the stupid man; This too is vanity."

⁴ Fury have I none. Will anyone set against Me buckthorns and spines for a fight? Will I transgress in it? And ravage it altogether?

¹⁰ Though they are still as entangled briars, and as those groggy with their grog, they shall be devoured as straw fully dry."
