¹ {A Song of Ascents{ To Yahweh in my distress I call out that He may answer me. ² O Yahweh, do rescue my soul From the false lip, From the deceitful tongue." ³ What shall He give to you, And what more shall He add for you, Deceitful tongue? ⁴ He will send arrows of the masterful, whetted With glowing embers of broom!" ⁵ Woe to me, for I sojourn in Meshech; I tabernacle among the tents of Kedar." ⁶ Long enough for itself has my soul tabernacled With a people hating peace. ⁷ I am for peace, yet when I speak They are for war."

² The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Media and Javan and Elisha, and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras.

¹³ And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, for their genealogical annals: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsa.

²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them ²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil.

³⁰ And the anger of Saul burns against Jonathan, and he said to him, `Son of a perverse rebellious woman! have I not known that you are fixing on the son of Jesse to your shame, and to the shame of the nakedness of your mother? <sup>31</sup> for all the days that the son of Jesse lives on the ground you are not established, you and your kingdom; and now, send and bring him unto me, for he [is] a son of death.. <sup>32</sup> And Jonathan answers Saul his father, and said unto him, `Why is he put to death? what has he done?. ³³ And Saul casts the javelin at him to smite him, and Jonathan knows that it has been determined by his father to put David to death.

⁹ And David said to Saul, `Why do you hear the words of man, saying, Lo, David is seeking your evil? <sup>10</sup> Lo, this day have your eyes seen how that Yahweh has given you to-day into my hand in the cave; and [one] said to slay you, and [mine eye] has pity on you, and I say, I do not put forth my hand against my lord, for the anointed of Yahweh he [is]. <sup>11</sup> `And, my father, see, yea see the skirt of your upper robe in my hand; for by cutting off the skirt of your upper robe, and I have not slain you, know and see that there is not in my hand evil and transgression, and I have not sinned against you, and you are hunting my soul to take it!"

¹ And Samuel dies, and all Israel are gathered, and mourn for him, and bury him in his house, in Ramah; and David rises and goes down unto the wilderness of Paran.

² And Saul rises, and goes down unto the wilderness of Ziph, and with him three thousand men, chosen ones of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph. ³ And Saul encamps in the height of Hachilah, which [is] on the front of the desert, by the way, and David is abiding in the wilderness, and he sees that Saul has come after him in to the wilderness;" ⁴ and David sends spies, and knows that Saul has come unto Nachon,

¹⁹ I [am] of the peaceable--faithful ones of Israel; you are seeking to destroy a city, and a mother in Israel; why do you swallow up the inheritance of Yahweh?

⁸ For what expectation can the polluted have when he is clipped off, When Eloah eases away his soul?

¹³ So He has prepared for him the instruments of death; He makes His arrows flaring ones.

⁶ In my distress I called on Yahweh, And to my Elohim I implored. From His temple He heard my voice, And my imploring before Him, it came to His ears."

⁷ O Yahweh, in Your benevolence, You have made my mountain to stand in strength. If You conceal Your face, I become flustered;" ⁸ To You, O Yahweh, am I calling, And to my Lord am I supplicating."

¹⁴ Withdraw from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it."

¹¹ Malicious witnesses arise; They ask me that which I do not know;

²⁰ For they do not speak peace, And they are devising words of deceit against those enjoying respite in the land."

⁵ Your arrows being whetted, Peoples shall fall beneath You, Struck in the heart of the King's enemies."

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall liberate you, and you shall glorify Me."

² Your tongue devises woes, Like a honed razor, you who practice deceit." ³ You love evil rather than good, Falsehood rather than speaking righteousness. {Interlude{ " ⁴ You love all pernicious words, O you deceitful tongue." ⁵ But El, He shall break you down permanently; He shall rake you up and tear you out from your tent, And He will root you out from the land of the living. {Interlude{ "

²⁰ He has put forth his hands against those at peace with him; He has profaned his own covenant.

⁴ My soul is in the midst of parent-lions; Let me confidently lie among flaming foes, even sons of humanity; Their teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword."

⁷ Behold, they are uttering growls with their mouth; Swords are on their lips, Saying, Who is hearing?

² O do not conceal Your face from me in the day of my distress! Stretch out Your ear to me; Answer me hastily, in the day I shall call."

¹³ Then they cried out to Yahweh in their distress:He saved them from their constraints;

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Elohim of my praise, do not be silent, ² For a mouth of wickedness and a mouth of deceit They have opened against me; They have spoken against me with a tongue of falsehood;

⁴ In return for my love they are my adversaries, Even while I was in prayer."

³ The cables of death have enveloped me, And the constrictions of the unseen, they have converged upon me; I found distress and affliction." ⁴ Then I called on the Name of Yahweh, Oh Yahweh, do make a way of escape for my soul."

⁵ From my constriction, I called on Yah; Yah answered me with a wide place."

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Davidic{ Unless Yahweh Himself had been for us, Now let Israel say,

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Those who trust in Yahweh are like Mount Zion which is immovable; It shall dwell securely for the eon.

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ When Yahweh reversed the captivity of Zion, We became like those who are dreaming."

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Solomonic{ If Yahweh Himself is not building a house, Its builders toil futilely in it. If Yahweh Himself is not guarding a city, The sentinel is alert futilely."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Happy is everyone who is fearing Yahweh, Who is walking in His ways."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Many times have they distressed me from my youth, May Israel now say,

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ From the depths I call out to You, O Yahweh;"

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Davidic{ O Yahweh, my heart is not haughty; Nor are my eyes set high, And I do not walk in ways too great Or too difficult for me."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Remember, O Yahweh, concerning David, All his humiliation,

¹ {A Song of Ascents, Davidic{ Behold, how good and how pleasant For brothers to dwell as one."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ Behold, bless Yahweh, all servants of Yahweh, Who are standing in Yahweh's House by night."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ Liberate me, O Yahweh, from the evil person; From the man of violence may You preserve me;" ² Those who devise evil deeds in their heart, All day long they stir up warfare;" ³ They whet their tongue like a serpent; The venom of an asp is under their lips. {Interlude{

⁹ As for the heads of those round about me, May the misery done by their lips cover them." ¹⁰ May glowing embers slip down over them; May He cast them into the fire, Into chasms, so they may rise no more." ¹¹ May a man of slander no more become established in the land; A man of violence, may evil hunt him with jolt after jolt."

⁹ With his mouth the polluted man would bring ruin on his associate, Yet by knowledge the righteous shall be extricated."

¹² One who despises his associate has lack of heart wisdom, But the man of comprehension keeps silence."

¹⁸ The wicked one makes false wages, Yet he who sows righteousness reaps faithful hire."

²² False lips are an abhorrence to Yahweh, Yet those who hold to truth enjoy His benevolence."

²⁷ A decadent man digs a pit of evil, And on his lips is speech like searing fire."

⁸ The words of a babbler are like tidbits; They descend to the chambers of one's belly.

²¹ Death and life lie in the hand of the tongue, And they who love to use it must eat its fruit."

⁵ A false witness shall not be held innocent, And he who breathes out lies shall not escape."

⁹ A false witness shall not be held innocent, And he who breathes out lies shall perish."

⁵ Dusky am I, yet comely, O daughters of Jerusalem, Like the tents of Kedar, Like the sheets of Solomon."

³ And they are saying to him, "Thus says Hezekiah, `A day of distress and correction and spurning is this day, for sons have come unto the breaking forth, yet there is no vigor to bear." ⁴ Perhaps Yahweh, your Elohim, will hear the words of the grand cupbearer, whom the king of Assyria, his lord, sends to reproach the living Elohim, and He will correct him, in view of the words which Yahweh, your Elohim, hears, and you will lift up a prayer to Yahweh, your Elohim, about the remnant that is being found in this city.'"

¹⁴ And Hezekiah is taking the scrolls from the hand of the messengers and is reading them. And he is going up to the house of Yahweh. And Hezekiah is spreading them before Yahweh. ¹⁵ And Hezekiah is praying to Yahweh, saying, ¹⁶ Yahweh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, dwelling between the cherubim, You are He Who is the Elohim; You alone are for all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth." ¹⁷ Stretch out Your ear, Yahweh, and hear! Unclose Your eyes, Yahweh, and see! And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he sent to reproach the living Elohim." ¹⁸ Truly, Yahweh, the kings of Assyria did drain all the nations, and their land, ¹⁹ and put their elohim into the fire, for no elohim are they, but rather the make of human hands, wood and stone, and they are destroying them." ²⁰ And now, Yahweh, our Elohim, pray, save us, from his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth shall know that You, Yahweh, are Elohim, You alone."

² And Hezekiah is turning his face about to the side wall and he is praying to Yahweh, ³ and saying, "Oh, Yahweh! Remember, pray, how I walked before You in truth and with a peaceable heart, and what is good in Your eyes have I done.And Hezekiah is lamenting with a great lamentation." ⁴ And coming is the word of Yahweh to Isaiah, saying, ⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, "`Thus says Yahweh, the Elohim of David, your forefather, "I have heard the voice of your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold! I will add to your days fifteen years."

⁶ An accumulation of camels shall cover you, dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, all those from Sheba shall come. Gold and frankincense and precious stones shall they carry, and of the praises of Yahweh shall they bear tidings." ⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be convened to you, and the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you. They shall ascend with acceptance on My altar, and My house of prayer will I beautify."

² Who does give me in a wilderness A lodging-place of travellers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them [are] adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones." ³ And they bend their tongue, their bow [is] a lie, And not for stedfastness have they been mighty in the land, For from evil unto evil they have gone forth, And Me they have not known, An affirmation of Yahweh!"

⁶ your dwelling [is] in the midst of deceit, Through deceit they refused to know Me, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, For you have borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me--All of them are reviling me."

²⁸ Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon has smitten:`Thus said Yahweh:Arise you, go you up unto Kedar, And spoil the sons of the east." ²⁹ Their tents and their flock they do take, Their curtains, and all their vessels, And their camels, they bear away for themselves, And they called concerning them, Fear [is] round about."

⁶ `And you, son of man, you are not afraid of them, yea, of their words you are not afraid, for briers and thorns are with you, and near scorpions you are dwelling, of their words you are not afraid, and of their faces you are not affrighted, for they [are] a rebellious house,

¹³ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech--they [are] your merchants, For persons of men, and vessels of brass, They have given out your merchandise."

²¹ Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They [are] the traders of your hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these your merchants."

² `Son of man, set your face unto Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him, ³ and you have said:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,

¹ And you, son of man, prophesy concerning Gog, and you have said:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Lo, I [am] against you, O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,

² And he is saying, I call, because of my distress, to Yahweh, my Elohim, and He is answering me. From the belly of the unseen I implore; You hear my voice."

¹ Alack to me! For I become as the gatherings of the straw of the harvest, as the clean-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; my soul yearns for the firstfruit." ² The kindly one has perished from the earth, and there is none upright among humanity. All of them are ambushing for blood; each man is hunting his brother with a seine net."

⁹ "Happy are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

¹⁶ Lo! I am dispatching you as a sheep in the midst of wolves. Become, then, prudent as serpents and artless as doves."

³⁶ And the enemies of a man are those of his household.

²⁶ For the Son of Mankind is about to be coming in the glory of His Father, with His messengers, and then He will be paying each in accord with his practice."

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests and the elders and the whole Sanhedrin sought false testimony against Jesus, so that they should be putting Him to death, ⁶⁰ and they found it not. At many false witnesses approaching, they found it not. Yet subsequently two false witnesses, approaching, ⁶¹ said, "He averred, 'I am able to demolish the temple of God and, during three days, to rebuild it.'" ⁶² And, rising, the chief priest said to Him, "Are you answering nothing? What are these testifying against you?

⁴⁴ And coming to be in a struggle, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat became as if clots of blood descending on the earth."

²¹ What fruit, then, had you then? - of which you are now ashamed, for, indeed, the consummation of those things is death."

¹⁸ if possible that which comes out from yourselves. Being at peace with all mankind,

¹⁴ For He is our Peace, Who makes both one, and razes the central wall of the barrier" ¹⁵ (the enmity in His flesh), nullifying the law of precepts in decrees, that He should be creating the two, in Himself, into one new humanity, making peace;" ¹⁶ and should be reconciling both in one body to God through the cross, killing the enmity in it." ¹⁷ And, coming, He brings the evangel of peace to you, those afar, and peace to those near,

³ For we also were once foolish, stubborn, deceived, slaves of various desires and gratifications, leading a life in malice and envy, detestable, hating one another."

⁷ Who, in the days of His flesh, offering both petitions and supplications with strong clamor and tears to Him Who is able to save Him out of death, being hearkened to also for His piety,

¹⁴ Pursue peace with all, and holiness, apart from which no one shall be seeing the Lord;"

⁵ Thus the tongue, also, is a little member and is grandiloquent. Lo! What amount of fire is kindling what amount of material!" ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of injustice. The tongue is constituted among our members that which is spotting the whole body, and setting the wheel of our lineage aflame, and is set aflame by Gehenna." ⁷ For every nature, both of wild beasts and flying creatures, both of reptiles and those of the salt sea, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature." ⁸ Yet the tongue can no man tame - a turbulent evil, distended with death-carrying venom."

⁷ and rescues the just man, Lot, harried by the behavior of the dissolute in their wantonness" ⁸ (for the just man dwelling among them, in observing and hearing from day to day, tormented his just soul by their lawless acts),

¹³ '"I am aware where you are dwelling-where the throne of Satan is-and you are holding My name, and do not disown My faith in the days in which Antipas, My faithful witness, was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling."

⁸ Yet the timid, and unbelievers, and the abominable, and murderers, and paramours, and enchanters, and idolaters, and all the false-their part is in the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death."
