³ For neither by their sword did they tenant the land, Nor did their arm bring salvation for them. But it was Your right hand and Your arm of power and the light of Your countenance, For You held them dear."

¹⁶ Dread and awe are falling on them; by the greatness of Your arm they are still as a stone, until Your people are passing by, Yahweh, until this people whom You have acquired are passing by.

⁸ If Yahweh delights in us then He will bring us into this land, and He will give it to us. It is a land which is gushing with milk and honey.

³⁷ For inasmuch as He loved your fathers and chose their seed after them and brought you forth from Egypt into His presence by His great vigor, ³⁸ to evict greater and more substantial nations than you from your presence, to bring you in and give to you their country as an allotment, as it is this day,

⁷ It was not because your multitude was more than all the other peoples that Yahweh was attached to you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all the peoples. ⁸ But it was because of the love of Yahweh for you and because of His keeping the oath that He had sworn to your fathers that Yahweh brought you forth with a steadfast hand and ransomed you from the house of servants, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

¹⁷ Guard yourself lest you say in your heart:My vigor and the staunchness of my hand make for me this great estate. ¹⁸ Yet you will remember Yahweh your Elohim, for He is the One giving to you the vigor to make this estate, that He may confirm His covenant that He had sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as in this day.

¹⁵ But Yahweh was attached to your fathers to love them so that He chooses their seed after them, you, out of all the peoples, as it is this day.

¹² And I send before you the hornet, and it casts them out from your presence--two kings of the Amorite--not by your sword, nor by your bow.

²² for Yahweh does not leave His people, on account of His great name; for Yahweh has been pleased to make you to Him for a people.

⁶ Many are saying, Shall anyone show us good? Lift up the light of Your countenance over us, O Yahweh.

⁷ Show the marvel of Your benignities, You Who are saving with Your right hand Those taking refuge from rising foes."

⁶ Now I know that Yahweh will save His anointed; He shall answer him from His holy heavens By the saving masterful deeds of His right hand.

⁵ Why are you prostrated, O my soul, And why are you discomfited within me? Wait for Elohim, for I shall acclaim Him further, The Grand Salvation of my countenance, and my Elohim."

⁷ Now we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the transcendence of the power may be of God and not of us."
