1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a multitude of disabled people, blind, lame, paralyzed.
4 (...)5 One man who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been in this condition for a long time, he said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"
7 The sick man answered him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
8 Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed, and walk."
9 And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath.
10 So the Jews said to the man who was cured, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed."
11 But he answered them, "The man who made me well said to me, 'Take up your bed, and walk.'"
12 They asked him, "Who is the man who said to you, 'Take up your bed, and walk'?"
13 Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in that place.
14 Afterward, Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you are well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse may happen to you."
15 The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
17 But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working still, and I am working."
18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, the Son also does.
20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does; and he will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom he will.
22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son,
23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
25 Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself,
27 and has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voice
29 and come forth those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
30 "I can do nothing of myself; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.
31 "If I bear witness of myself, my testimony is not true.
32 There is another who bears witness of me, and I know that the testimony which he bears of me is true.
33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
34 Not that the testimony which I receive is from man; but I say this that you may be saved.
35 He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a time in his light.
36 But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, these very works which I am doing, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me.
37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified of me. You have never heard his voice, nor seen his form.
38 And you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe him whom he has sent.
39 You search the Scriptures, because in them you think that you have eternal life; and these are they that testify of me.
40 Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
41 "I do not receive glory from men.
42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.
44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; it is Moses who accuses you, on whom you set your hope.
46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.
47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"

7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.

1 Corinthians 15:42-54
42 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised imperishable;
43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;
44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
45 So it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; and then the spiritual.
47 The first man was from the earth, of dust; the second man is from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so are those who are of the dust; and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.
50 Now I tell you this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then will come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
15 For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,
10 but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

James 2:1
1 My brethren, show no favoritism as you hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:7
7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 19:7-8
John 8:5-6
John 8:9
9 Then those who heard it went away one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last, and Jesus was left alone, with the woman standing before him.
John 9:28-29
Romans 2:12
12 All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
Romans 2:17-29
17 But if you call yourself a Jew, and rely on the law and boast of your relation to God
18 and know his will and approve of what is excellent, because you are instructed in the law,
19 and if you are sure that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth
21 you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?
22 You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?
23 You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?
24 For, as it is written, "The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."
25 Circumcision indeed is of value if you obey the law; but if you break the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
26 So, if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?
27 The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a breaker of the law.
28 For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something outward and in the flesh.
29 He is a Jew who is one inwardly; and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, and not by the written code. His praise is not from men but from God.
Romans 3:19-20
Romans 7:9-14
9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
10 The very commandment which was to bring life I found to be death to me.
11 For sin, finding opportunity in the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.
12 So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.
13 Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But it was sin, working death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, so that through the commandment sin might become sinful beyond measure.
14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 10:5-10
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them."
6 But the righteousness based on faith says, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down)
7 or "Who will descend into the abyss?" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach);
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his mouth and so is saved.
2 Corinthians 3:7-11
7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was,
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
9 For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness exceed it in glory.
10 For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it.
11 For if what was fading away came with glory, much more is the glory of that which lasts.
Galatians 3:10
10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to do them."
Acts 26:22
22 To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen:
Romans 10:4
4 For Christ is the end of the law, that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
Galatians 2:19
19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.
Galatians 3:13
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for usfor it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"
Galatians 3:24
24 So the law was our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 4:21-31
21 Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the law?
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave and one by the free woman.
23 But the son by the slave was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.
24 This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.
25 Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
27 For it is written, "Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; for the children of the desolate are more numerous than the children of her who has a husband."
28 Now you, brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
29 But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now.
30 But what does the scripture say? "Cast out the slave and her son, for the son of the slave shall not inherit with the son of the free woman."
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the slave, but of the free woman.
Hebrews 7:1-10
1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him.
2 And to him Abraham gave a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace.
3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest continually.
4 See how great he was! Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the spoils.
5 And those descendants of Levi who receive the priestly office have a commandment in the law to take a tenth from the people, that is, from their brethren, though these also are descended from Abraham.
6 But this man whose genealogy is not derived from them received a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7 And without dispute the lesser person is blessed by the greater.
8 In this case tithes are received by mortal men, but in that case by one of whom it is witnessed that he lives on.
9 One might even say that Levi himself, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham,
10 for he was still in the loins of his ancestor when Melchizedek met him.
