¹ ¶ Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. ² In my Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. ⁴ ¶ So that ye know where I go, and ye know the way. ⁵ Thomas said unto him, Lord, we know not where thou goest; how, therefore, can we know the way? ⁶ Jesus said unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes unto the Father, but by me. ⁷ If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from now on ye know him and have seen him. ⁸ Philip said unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice us. ⁹ Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? ⁴ As for me, is my complaint to man? And if so, why should not my spirit be troubled? ⁵ Look upon me and be astonished and lay your hand upon your mouth. ⁶ Even I myself, when I remember, I am afraid, and trembling takes hold on my flesh.

¹⁵ Therefore, I shall fear before his face; I shall consider, and I shall fear him. ¹⁶ For God has made my heart tender, and the Almighty has frightened me.

⁵ Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted against me? Wait thou for God, for I shall yet praise him for the wellbeing of his presence. ⁶ ¶ O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the mountain of Mizar.

⁸ Yet the LORD will command his mercy in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. ⁹ I will say unto God, My rock, why hast thou forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ¹⁰ It is as death in my bones when my enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? ¹¹ Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Wait thou for God, for I shall yet praise him, who is the saving health of my countenance and my God.

² In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; my sore bled in the night and ceased not; my soul refused to be comforted. ³ I remembered God and cried out; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

¹⁰ And I said, This is my infirmity, but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me. ³ Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of saving health.

³ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee.

¹ ¶ But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Do not fear, for I have redeemed thee, I have named thee; Thou art mine. ² When thou dost pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou dost walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

¹⁸ Because of my strong sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

²³ that everyone should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who has sent him.

⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, That every one who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believest thou this? ²⁷ She said unto him, Yes, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who should come into the world.

³³ ¶ When Jesus therefore saw her weeping and the Jews also weeping who came with her, he became enraged in the Spirit and stirred himself up

²⁷ ¶ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour, but for this have I come in this hour.

⁴⁴ ¶ But Jesus cried and said, He that believes in me, believes not in me, but in him that sent me,

¹⁹ now I tell you before it is done, so that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I AM.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. ³ And they will do these things unto you because they do not know the Father, nor me.

⁶ But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow has filled your heart.

²² And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you. ²³ ¶ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give you.

¹⁵ and killed the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And in the faith of his name, unto this man whom ye see and know, has confirmed his name; and the faith which is by him has given this man this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

⁷ So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with too much grief.

⁸ ¶ We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are unsure of our lives, but not in despair; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; ¹⁰ always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ¹⁰ Therefore I am content in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹² so that we should be to the praise of his glory, those of us who first trusted in the Christ. ¹³ In whom ye also trusted, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your saving health; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of the promise,

¹⁵ ¶ Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and charity unto all the saints,

¹⁴ ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ¹⁵ (of whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named), ¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man, ¹⁷ that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity,

³ that no one should be moved in these tribulations, for you know that we are appointed for this. ⁴ For even when we were with you, we told you in advance that we must pass through tribulations, even as it has come to pass, and ye know.

² that ye not be easily shaken in understanding or be troubled neither by spirit nor by word nor by letter as from us, as if the day of Christ is at hand.

¹² Therefore, lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, ¹³ and make straight steps unto your feet, so that which is lame will not turn out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

²¹ who by him do believe God, who raised him up from the dead and has given him glory: that your faith and hope might be in God.

²³ Whosoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. Whosoever confesses the Son, has the Father also. ²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. For if that which ye have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also shall continue to abide in the Son and in the Father.

¹⁰ ¶ He that believes in the Son of God has the witness of God in himself; he that does not believe God has made God a liar; because he does not believe the witness that God has testified of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the witness, that God has given eternal life to us, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; and he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.

²⁶ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brethren and sisters, and even his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. ²⁷ And whosoever does not bear his cross {Gr. stauros – stake} and come after me cannot be my disciple. ²⁸ For which of you intending to build a tower does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has sufficient to finish it? ²⁹ Lest perhaps after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, ³⁰ saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. ³¹ Or what king going to make war against another king does not sit down first and consult whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand? ³² Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy and desires conditions of peace. ³³ So likewise, any one of you that does not forsake all that he has cannot be my disciple.

²⁵ He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. ²⁶ If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me; and as I said unto the Jews, Where I go, ye cannot come, so now I say to you.

³⁶ ¶ Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, where goest thou? Jesus answered him, Where I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

⁴ But I have told you these things that when that hour shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And I did not say these things unto you at the beginning because I was with you.

²⁴ ¶ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my clarity, which thou hast given me, for thou hast loved me from before the foundation of the world.

¹⁶ for I will show him how much it behooves him to suffer for my name.

¹ ¶ For we know that if the earthly house of this our habitation were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁹ For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain saving health by our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁴ so that we ourselves glory in you in the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure and ⁵ ¶ in testimony of the just judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer, ⁶ seeing it is a just thing with God to recompense tribulation to those that trouble you ⁷ and to give you, who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with the angels of his power, ⁸ with flaming fire, to take vengeance on those that do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁹ who shall be punished with eternal destruction by the presence of the Lord and by the glory of his power, ¹⁰ when he shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all those that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

² for the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the times of the ages

²⁰ where our precursor, Jesus, has entered for us and is made high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

⁸ ¶ The Holy Spirit signifying in this, that the way into the sanctuary was not yet made manifest, as long as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

²³ ¶ So that it was necessary that the figures of the heavenly things should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For Christ is not entered into the sanctuary made with hands (which is a figure of the true), but into the heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us, ²⁵ nor yet that he should offer himself many times (as the high priest enters into the sanctuary each year with blood that is not his own); ²⁶ otherwise it would have been necessary for him to suffer many times since the foundation of the world; but now once in the consummation of the ages he has appeared to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself.

¹⁰ for he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

¹⁴ For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek their native country. ¹⁵ And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had time to have returned. ¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one; therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

¹⁴ For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one that is coming.

⁵ and from Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood

¹² He that overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more, and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God which is the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from and with my God, and I will write upon him my new name.

²¹ To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with my Father in his throne.

² And I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of the heaven, prepared of God as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of the heaven from and with God, ¹¹ having the clarity of God; and her light was like unto a most precious stone, even like a jasper stone, shining like crystal. ¹² And it had a wall great and high, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel: ¹³ On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city and its gates and its wall. ¹⁶ And the city lies foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs; and the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. ¹⁸ And the material of its wall was jasper; but the city was of pure gold, like unto clean glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates are twelve pearls; in each one, one; each gate was of one pearl; and the street of the city was pure gold, as shining glass. ²² And I saw no temple in her; for the Lord God Almighty is her temple, and the Lamb. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in her, for the clarity of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp. ²⁴ And the Gentiles that have been saved shall walk in the light of her; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honour into her. ²⁵ And her gates shall never be shut by day; for there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and the honour of the Gentiles into it. ²⁷ And there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean or that works abomination or makes a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

³² and before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats, ³³ and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. ³⁴ Then shall the King say unto those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

²⁶ If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant be also; the one that serves me, will my Father honour.

¹¹ who also said, Ye men of Galilee, what do ye stand gazing at up into heaven? This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen calling upon God and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. ⁶⁰ And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, Lord, impute not this sin to their charge. And having said this, he fell asleep in the Lord.

¹⁷ ¶ and if sons, also heirs certainly of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also glorified together with him.

⁶ Therefore we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord ⁷ (for we walk by faith, not by sight). ⁸ We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

²³ For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better:

¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; ¹⁷ then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

¹² that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be clarified in you, and ye in him, by the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² if we suffer, we shall also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

²⁸ so also the Christ is offered once to take away the sins of many; and unto those that wait for him without sin he shall appear the second time unto saving health.

² Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be; but we know that if he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. ³ And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

²² And I saw no temple in her; for the Lord God Almighty is her temple, and the Lamb. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in her, for the clarity of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

³ And there shall no longer be any cursed thing; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in her; and his slaves shall serve him; ⁴ and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. ⁵ And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp neither light of the sun; for the Lord God shall give them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever.

²⁶ ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter (like this) into his glory?

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

³⁶ He that believes in the Son has eternal life, and he that does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe and know that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁹ I AM the door; whosoever enters in by me shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.

³ Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he had come from God and was going to God,

²⁸ ¶ I came forth from the Father and am come into the world; again, I leave the world and go to the Father.

¹⁷ And as Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why argue ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not consider nor understand? is your heart yet blind? ¹⁸ Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

¹⁹ Answering, he said unto him, O unfaithful generation, how long shall I be with you? How long must I suffer you? Bring him unto me.

²⁵ Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken;

¹⁶ Then Thomas said, who is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us go also, that we may die with him.

¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you.

²⁵ The other disciples, therefore, said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Unless I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. ²⁶ ¶ And again eight days later, his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you. ²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, Reach here thy finger and behold my hands and reach here thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not unbelieving, but faithful. ²⁸ And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

¹¹ Of whom we have many things to say and difficult to declare, seeing ye are hard of hearing. ¹² For you should now be teaching others, if we look at the time, yet you need to be taught again which are the first elements of the oracles of God and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.

⁸ And a highway shall be there and a way, and it shall be called The Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; and for those in it there shall be someone to go with them, in such a manner that the foolish shall not err therein. ⁹ No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, nor shall any be found there so that the redeemed can walk there:

²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father, and no one has known the Son but the Father, neither has anyone known the Father except the Son and he unto whom the Son will reveal him.

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses, but the grace and the truth of God came through Jesus, the Christ.

²¹ For as the Father raises up the dead and gives them life; even so the Son gives life unto whom he will.

²⁵ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour shall come, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, so has he given to the Son to have life in himself ²⁷ and has also given him power and authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ Marvel not at this, for an hour shall come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ and those that have done good shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but those that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

³³ For the bread of God is he who descended from heaven and gives life unto the world.

⁵¹ I AM the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, they shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

⁵⁷ As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eats me, he shall also live by me.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

³² and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

⁵¹ ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, If anyone keeps my word, he shall not see death forever.

⁷ Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I AM the door of the sheep.

²⁸ and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone pluck them out of my hand.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me; because I live, ye shall live also.

¹ ¶ I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

² as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. ³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

³⁷ Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I AM king. To this end I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.

¹⁵ and killed the Author of life, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

¹² Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men in which we can be saved.

² by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God.

²¹ so that in the same manner as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.

⁸ Now I say that Christ Jesus, was a minister of the circumcision, by the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers; ⁹ but that the Gentiles glorify God by mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee among the Gentiles and sing unto thy name.

¹⁶ being the minister of Jesus Christ, to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be well pleasing, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁵ And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a life-giving Spirit.

¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, has not been yes and no, but in him was yes. ²⁰ For all the promises of God are yes in him, and in him Amen, by us for the glory of God.

¹⁸ For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

⁹ For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily,

¹⁷ which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of the Christ.

⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also be manifested with him in glory.

²⁵ Therefore he is able also to save to the uttermost those that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

¹⁹ ¶ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; ²¹ and having that great priest over the house of God, ²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts purified from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water;

⁴ ¶ coming unto whom (is the living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious),

¹⁸ ¶ For the Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in spirit,

¹ ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life ² (for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us);

⁸ ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us.

²³ Whosoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. Whosoever confesses the Son, has the Father also.

⁶ ¶ This is Jesus, the Christ, who came by water and blood; not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit is he that bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.

²⁰ But we know that the Son of God is come and has given us understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

⁹ Whosoever rebels and does not abide in the doctrine of the Christ, does not have God. He that abides in the doctrine of the Christ, the same has the Father and the Son.

⁷ ¶ And to the angel of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} in Philadelphia write; These things, saith he that is Holy and True, he who has the key of David, who opens and no one shuts and shuts, and no one opens;

¹⁴ ¶ And unto the angel of the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of the Laodiceans write; Behold, he who saith, Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four animals and the twenty-four elders fell on their faces before the Lamb, each one of them having harps, and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of saints. ⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us unto God by thy blood, out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation

⁹ After this I saw, and, behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations and kindreds and peoples and tongues stood before the throne and before the Lamb clothed with long white robes and palms in their hands ¹⁰ and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation unto him who is seated upon the throne of our God and unto the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels stood round about the throne and about the elders and the four animals; and they fell upon their faces before the throne and worshipped God, ¹² saying, Amen: The blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honour and the power and the might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. ¹³ ¶ And one of the elders responded and asked me, Who are these who are arrayed in long white robes? and where did they come from? ¹⁴ And I said unto him, lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are those who came out of great tribulation and have washed their long robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple, and he that is seated on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun be thrust upon them nor any other heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall govern them and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

⁷ And it was given unto it to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and power was given it over all kindreds and tongues and nations. ⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship it, whose names are not written in the book of the life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

¹¹ ¶ And I saw the heaven open, and behold a white horse; and he that was seated upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

¹ ¶ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come; and whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.

²² All things are delivered to me of my Father, and no one knows who the Son is, but the Father, and who the Father is, but the Son and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

¹⁸ No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

⁴⁶ Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is of God, he has seen the Father.

¹⁹ Then they said unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father; if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

⁹ Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? ¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.

¹⁶ and I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever, ¹⁷ even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him, or know him; but ye know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you. ¹⁸ ¶ I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. ¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world shall see me no more, but ye shall see me; because I live, ye shall live also. ²⁰ At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

²⁴ If I had not done among them works which no other man has done, they would not have sin; but now they have seen them and hate both me and my Father.

¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come. ¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁶ ¶ A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

⁶ ¶ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou didst give me out of the world; thine they were, and thou didst give them me; and they have kept thy word.

⁸ For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

²¹ that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

²⁶ And I have manifested unto them thy name and will manifest it still, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

⁶ For the God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to bring forth the light of the knowledge of the clarity of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature; ¹⁶ for by him were all things created, that are in the heavens and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and in him; ¹⁷ And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

² that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in charity and in all the riches of the fulfilled understanding to know the mystery of the God and Father and of the Christ; ³ in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

³ who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his substance and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

¹³ I write unto you, fathers, that ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, that ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, that ye have known the Father.

¹⁸ Then he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. ¹⁹ And he replied, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name that I AM before thee; and I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and will show clemency on whom I will show clemency. ²⁰ He further said, Thou canst not see my face; for no man shall see me and live. ²¹ And the LORD continued saying, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon the rock; ²² and it shall come to pass while my glory passes by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock and will cover thee with my hand until I have passed by. ²³ Then I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts, but my face {Heb. faces} shall not be seen.

⁵ ¶ And the LORD descended in a cloud and was with him there proclaiming the name of I AM. ⁶ And as the LORD passed by before him, he proclaimed, I AM, I AM strong, merciful, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, letting go of iniquity and rebellion and sin; and by no means will I absolve the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons and upon the sons’ sons, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

²⁶ He shall pray unto God, and he will love him; and he shall see his face with shouts of joy; for he will render unto the man the recompense of his righteousness.

¹⁵ As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness.

² in this manner I beheld thee in holiness when I beheld thy power and thy glory.

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

⁴³ ¶ The day following Jesus desired to go forth into Galilee and found Philip and said unto him, Follow me. ⁴⁴ Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. ⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said unto him, We have found him of whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip said unto him, Come and see.

⁵ Then Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw a great company come unto him; he said unto Philip, From where shall we buy bread that these may eat? ⁶ But he said this to prove him, for he knew what he would do. ⁷ Philip answered him, Two hundred denarius of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one of them may take a little.

²¹ the same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Lord, we desire to see Jesus. ²² Philip came and told Andrew, and then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

²⁵ I have spoken these things unto you in proverbs, but the hour comes when I shall no longer speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father.

⁹ And Abimelech called Isaac and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife; and how didst thou say, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die because of her.

A Psalm of David. ¶ I put my trust in the LORD put I: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

²³ How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? See thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

⁵⁶ Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

³⁰ I and my Father are one.

⁴⁵ and he that sees me sees him that sent me.

⁷ If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from now on ye know him and have seen him.

²⁰ At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

¹² ¶ Now if the Christ is preached that rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

⁶ who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God,

¹⁵ who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature;

¹⁶ Why leap ye, ye high mountains? This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever. ¹⁷ The chariots of God are two thousand, thousands of angels; the Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the sanctuary. ¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious also that the LORD God might dwell among them.

¹ ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with the God. ³ All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

³² And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no one receives his testimony. ³³ He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true. ³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God does not give the Spirit by measure unto him.

¹⁷ ¶ But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work.

¹⁹ Then Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father do; for all that he does, this also the Son does together with him.

³⁸ For I came down from the heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me. ³⁹ And this is the Father’s will who has sent me, that of all whom he has given me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again in the last day. ⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, That every one who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

²⁸ Then Jesus cried out in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye know me, and ye know from where I come, but I have not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. ²⁹ But I know him, for I am from him, and he has sent me.

²⁸ Then Jesus said unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I AM and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things.

³⁸ ¶ I speak that which I have seen with my Father, and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

⁴⁰ But now ye seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard of God; Abraham did not do this.

³⁸ But if I do, though ye do not believe me, believe the works that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him.

²⁶ and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

²¹ that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. ²² And the clarity which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one: ²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

¹⁹ for certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and having placed in us the word of reconciliation.

¹⁹ For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell

⁷ For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

⁴ Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and tell John those things which you hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues and of evil spirits, and unto many that were blind he gave sight. ²² Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go and tell John the things ye have seen and heard: how the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached; ²³ and blessed is whoever shall not be offended in me.

³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father has sent me.

²⁵ Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe; the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

³² Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

³⁸ that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who shall believe our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? ³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again, ⁴⁰ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart and be converted, and I should heal them.

¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.

²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know,

⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders and with diverse miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, distributing them according to his own will?

²¹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, it shall be done.

¹³ and seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing upon her; but when he came to her, he found nothing but leaves, for the time of figs was not yet.

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow those that believe: In my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

¹⁷ ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name. ¹⁸ And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. ¹⁹ Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

³³ Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while I shall be with you, and then I shall go unto him that sent me.

³⁹ (But this he spoke concerning the Spirit, which those that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

⁷ ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ⁵ ¶ (And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.) ⁶ Now at this sound, the multitude came together and were confounded because each one heard them speak in his own tongue. ⁷ And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans? ⁸ And how do we hear each one speak in our own tongue, with which we were brought up? ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotamia and in Judaea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

³³ Therefore being raised up by the right hand of God and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye now see and hear.

⁴¹ So that those who gladly received his word were baptized, and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

⁶ Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have I give thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. ⁷ And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ⁸ And he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.

⁴ But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men was about five thousand.

⁹ if we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole, ¹⁰ be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does this man stand here before you whole. ¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. ¹² Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men in which we can be saved.

¹⁶ saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all those that dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

³³ And with great power the apostles gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

¹⁵ So much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

⁷ And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly, and also a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

⁷ For many unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of those who were possessed with them, and many paralytics and that were lame were healed.

³⁴ And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, the Lord Jesus, the Christ, makes thee whole; arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

⁴⁰ Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁴⁶ For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,

¹⁸ And she did this for many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

¹² so that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

¹⁹ with power of signs and wonders, in virtue of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and round about unto Illyricum, I have filled the entire area with the gospel of the Christ.

¹⁰ to another, the operation of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, discerning of spirits; to another, different kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues: ¹¹ one and the same Spirit operates all these things, dispersing to each one his own gift as he wills.

⁷ ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;

²² And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

²⁴ Therefore I say unto you that everything that ye ask for, praying, believe that ye receive it, and it shall come upon you.

⁹ And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ but whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life.

³⁷ ¶ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink.

³¹ ¶ Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man clarified, and God is clarified in him.

⁶ Jesus said unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes unto the Father, but by me.

¹⁴ If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

⁷ If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

¹⁶ Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it unto you.

²³ ¶ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give you.

²⁶ In that day ye shall ask in my name, and I do not say unto you that I will ask the Father for you;

⁴ I have clarified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou didst give me to do. ⁵ And now, O Father, clarify thou me with thine own self with that clarity which I had with thee before the world was.

⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord three times that it might be taken from me.

¹² In whom we have security and access with confidence by the faith of him.

¹⁴ ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, ²¹ unto him be glory in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} by Christ Jesus throughout all generations of the ages of the ages. Amen.

⁹ Therefore, God also has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord in the glory of God the Father.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

¹⁷ And whatever ye do whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the God and Father by him.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

¹⁵ By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips confessing his name.

⁵ And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.

⁵ ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God by Jesus, the Christ.

²² and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

¹⁴ ¶ And this is the confidence that we have in God, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us:

³⁷ He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

³⁴ Then shall the King say unto those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; ³⁵ for I was hungry, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; ³⁶ naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee? or thirsty and give thee drink? ³⁸ When did we see thee a stranger and take thee in? or naked and clothe thee? ³⁹ Or when did we see thee sick or in prison and come unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brothers, ye have done it unto me.

⁴² Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would surely love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither did I come of myself, but he sent me.

²¹ He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said unto him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us and not unto the world?strong> ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him. ²⁴ He that does not love me does not keep my words, and the word which ye have heard is not mine, but of the Father who sent me.

¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. ¹¹ These things I have spoken unto you that my joy may abide in you and that your joy might be fulfilled. ¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his soul for his friends. ¹⁴ Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you.

¹⁵ ¶ So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He said unto him, Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He said unto him, Yes, Lord thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my sheep. ¹⁷ He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.

²² If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema. Our Lord has come.

¹⁴ For the charity of the Christ constrains us because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all are dead: ¹⁵ And that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them.

⁸ I speak not as commanding, but by occasion of the diligence of others and to prove the sincerity of your charity. ⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be enriched.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything nor uncircumcision, but faith which works by charity.

¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man, ¹⁷ that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity, ¹⁸ may be able to well comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height

²⁴ Grace be with all those that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption. Amen.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. ²¹ ¶ For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. ²² But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour, yet I do not know what to choose. ²³ For I am in a strait between the two, having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better:

⁷ But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ. ⁸ And doubtless I even count all things as loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ ⁹ ¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: ¹⁰ That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death, ¹¹ if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

⁸ whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though at present ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory;

³ ¶ And in this we do know that we have known him if we keep his commandments. ⁴ He that says, I have known him, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. ⁵ But whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the charity of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us. ²⁰ If anyone says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

² In this we know that we love the sons of God, when we love God and keep his commandments. ³ For this is the charity of God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous.

⁶ And this is charity, that we walk after his commandment. And this is the commandment, That ye walk in him, as ye have heard from the beginning.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, behold, I am with you always even unto the end of the age. Amen.

¹⁸ ¶ I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

²⁶ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all the things that I have said unto you.

²⁶ ¶ But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me;

⁷ ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. ⁸ And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment: ⁹ of sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; ¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. ¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come. ¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

²² And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you.

²⁶ In that day ye shall ask in my name, and I do not say unto you that I will ask the Father for you; ²⁷ for the Father himself loves you because ye have loved me and have believed that I came out from God.

⁹ I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine. ¹⁰ And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I have been clarified in them. ¹¹ ¶ And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, those whom thou hast given me, keep them in thy name, that they may be one, as we are.

¹⁵ I do not pray that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil.

²⁰ ¶ Neither do I pray for these alone, but also for those who shall believe in me through their word;

³¹ Then the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} had rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified, walking in the fear of the Lord, and with the comfort of the Holy Spirit they were multiplied.

⁵² And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

⁵ and the hope shall not be ashamed, because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of slavery to be in fear again, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ For the same Spirit bears witness unto our spirit that we are sons of God,

²⁶ ¶ And likewise also the Spirit helps our weakness; for we know not how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself makes entreaty for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ²⁷ But he that searches the hearts knows what is the desire of the Spirit, that according to the will of God, he makes entreaty for the saints.

³⁴ Who is he that condemns them? Christ, Jesus, is he who died and, even more, he that also rose again, who furthermore is at the right hand of God, who also makes entreaty for us.

¹⁷ for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

¹³ ¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,

¹³ In whom ye also trusted, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your saving health; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of the promise, ¹⁴ which is the earnest of our inheritance unto the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹ ¶ Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of charity, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

³ For ye are dead and your life is hid with the Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also be manifested with him in glory.

¹⁶ ¶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God, even our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace,

¹ ¶ My little children, I write these things unto you, that ye sin not; and if anyone has sinned, we have an Advocate before the Father, Jesus, the righteous Christ;

¹⁰ ¶ The heart knows the bitterness of his soul, and a stranger shall not intermeddle with his joy.

¹⁵ For thus has said the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is The Holy One; I dwell in the high place and in holiness and with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit to cause the spirit of the humble to live and to cause the heart of the contrite ones to live.

²¹ And this shall be my covenant with them, said the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words, which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from now on and for ever.

²⁷ And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my commandments, and ye shall keep my rights, and do them.

²⁰ For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

¹⁶ and I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever,

²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, He who loves me will keep my words, and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and dwell with him.

¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, that person is not of him. ¹⁰ ¶ But if Christ is in you, the body is truly dead because of sin, but the Spirit is alive because of righteousness. ¹¹ And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up the Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

¹³ For if ye live according to the flesh, ye shall die; but if through the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. ¹⁴ For all that are led by the Spirit of God, the same are sons of God.

¹⁴ But the natural man does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

¹⁶ ¶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

¹⁹ What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and that ye are not your own?

¹⁵ ¶ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

¹⁶ And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

⁵ Examine yourselves whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Do ye not know your own selves if Jesus Christ is in you? Unless ye are reprobates.

⁶ And because ye are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father;

²² in whom ye also are being built together for the habitation of God in the Spirit.

¹⁷ that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity,

²⁷ to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery in the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

¹⁴ Keep the good deposit committed unto thee by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us.

²⁷ But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you of all things and is truth, and is no lie; and even as it has taught you, abide ye in him.

²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

⁴ ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

⁶ We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his charity is completed in us. ¹³ In this we know that we abide in him, and he in us, in that he has given us of his Spirit.

¹⁷ He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}; To him that overcomes I will give to eat of the hidden manna and will give him a small white stone and in the stone a new name written, which no one knows except the one that receives it.

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.

² When thou shalt come unto me, I will walk in the way of perfection and understand. I will walk in the midst of my house in the perfection of my heart.

¹ ¶ But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Do not fear, for I have redeemed thee, I have named thee; Thou art mine.

¹² I, even I, am he that comforts you. Who art thou that thou should be afraid of man that is mortal and of the son of man which shall be counted as stubble?

¹¹ That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the splendour of her glory. ¹² For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream; then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. ¹³ As a man child whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

³ We are orphans without father; our mothers are as widows.

³ And we shall know and follow on in knowing the LORD; his going forth is prepared as the dawn; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

³ Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods, for in thee the fatherless finds mercy.

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

³³ These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

² Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. ³ ¶ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; ⁴ who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. ⁵ For in the same manner that the sufferings of the Christ abound in us, so also our consolation abounds by Christ. ⁶ And if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and saving health, which is effected in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and saving health.

¹⁸ For in that he himself has suffered and was tempted, he is also powerful to help those that are tempted.

⁵⁶ He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eats me, he shall also live by me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate manna and are dead; he that eats of this bread shall live eternally.

²¹ ¶ Then Jesus said again unto them, I am going away, and ye shall seek me, but ye shall die in your sins; where I go, ye shall not be able to come.

²⁵ Jesus said unto her, I AM the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he is dead, yet shall he live;

³⁵ Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walks in darkness does not know where he goes.

¹⁶ ¶ A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled with God by the death of his Son, much more, now reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

²⁰ ¶ But now Christ is risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of those that slept.

¹⁰ always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. ¹² So then death works in us, but life in you.

¹ ¶ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life ² (for the life is manifested, and we also saw it and bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and appeared unto us); ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁵⁶ He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.

⁵ I AM the vine, ye are the branches: he that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. ⁶ He who does not abide in me shall be cast forth as an unsound branch and shall wither, and they are gathered and cast into the fire and are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

⁷ Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

¹¹ ¶ And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, those whom thou hast given me, keep them in thy name, that they may be one, as we are.

¹ ¶ So that now, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ, Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

⁷ Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

³⁰ But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are made new.

² I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell; God knows) was caught up to the third heaven.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared that we should walk in them.

¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his charity is completed in us.

³ abide in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these lands, and I will confirm the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father; ⁴ and I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven and will give unto thy seed all these lands, and in thy seed shall all the Gentiles of the earth be blessed ⁵ because Abraham hearkened unto my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

¹² ¶ And now, Israel, what does the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, ¹³ to keep the commandments of the LORD and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

¹³ And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day: to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul

⁶ And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul, that thou may live. ⁷ And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies and on those that hate thee, who persecuted thee. ⁸ And thou shalt return and thou shalt hear the voice of the LORD and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

²⁷ Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause; let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the peace of his slave.

⁴ ¶ Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. ⁵ O that my ways were ordered to keep thy statutes! ⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have insight unto all thy commandments.

² And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness and all the kings thy glory; and thou shalt be given a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. ³ Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. ⁴ Thou shalt no longer be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any longer be termed Desolate; but thou shalt be called Hephzibah {Heb. my will in her} and thy land Beulah; {Heb. married}; for the will of the LORD shall be in thee, and thy land shall be married. ⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoices with the bride, so shall thy God rejoice with thee.

³¹ Behold, the days come, said the LORD, in which I will make a new covenant with the house of Jacob and with the house of Judah:

³³ But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the LORD, I will give my law in their souls and write it in their hearts and will be their God, and they shall be my people. ³⁴ And they shall no longer teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, said the LORD, for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

²⁵ ¶ And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be cleansed from all your filthiness, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my commandments, and ye shall keep my rights, and do them.

¹⁷ The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save; he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will joy over thee with singing.

²⁸ But he said, Rather, blessed are those that hear the word of God and keep it.

¹⁵ ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments;

⁹ ¶ As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. ¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

¹⁴ Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you.

¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

²⁷ for the Father himself loves you because ye have loved me and have believed that I came out from God.

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent, ¹⁰ For I am with thee, and no one shall be able to hurt thee, for I have many people in this city. ¹¹ And he continued there a year and six months, teaching them the word of God.

¹⁸ and saw him saying unto me, Make haste and go quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

¹⁸ Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord three times that it might be taken from me.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. ¹⁸ And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

²³ And that the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness, and he was called the Friend of God. ²⁴ Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.

⁵ But whosoever keeps his word, in him verily is the charity of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

¹ ¶ Behold, what charity the Father has given us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore the world does not know us, because it does not know him.

¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And in this we know that we are of the truth and have our hearts certified before him. ²⁰ ¶ And if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence in God; ²² and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us. ²⁴ And he that keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

³ For this is the charity of God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and call; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who do his commandments that their power and authority might be in the tree of life and they may enter in through the gates into the city.

³ Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

¹⁸ and Andrew and Philip and Bartholomew and Matthew and Thomas and James the son of Alphaeus and Thaddaeus and Simon the Canaanite

¹⁶ and Judas the brother of James and Judas Iscariot, who also was the traitor.

⁴ Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?

⁹ Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can this be done?

¹¹ The woman said unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep; from where then hast thou that living water?

⁵² The Jews therefore contended among themselves, saying, How is he able to give us his flesh to eat?

⁶⁰ ¶ Many therefore of his disciples when they had heard this said, This is a hard word; who can hear it?

¹⁷ Then some of his disciples said among themselves, What is this that he says unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me; and, Because I go to the Father? ¹⁸ They said therefore, What is this that he says, A little while? we cannot understand what he says.

¹³ And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James were.

⁴⁰ This same one God raised up the third day and showed him openly, ⁴¹ not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

¹ ¶ Jude, slave of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those that are called, sanctified in God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:

²⁶ ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the beasts and over all the earth and over every serpent that moves upon the earth.

⁷ Now, let us go down and there confound their language that they may not understand one another’s speech.

¹ A Prayer of Moses the man of God. ¶ Lord, thou hast been our refuge from generation to generation.

¹ ¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

¹⁷ ¶ But Jesus answered them, My Father works until now, and I work. ¹⁸ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Then Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the Father do; for all that he does, this also the Son does together with him.

¹⁷ even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him, or know him; but ye know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you.

²¹ He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.

²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. For if that which ye have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also shall continue to abide in the Son and in the Father.

¹⁵ Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the charity that God has in us. God is charity, and he that abides in charity abides in God, and God in him.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and call; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me. ²¹ To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with my Father in his throne.

²² And I saw no temple in her; for the Lord God Almighty is her temple, and the Lamb.

³ And there shall no longer be any cursed thing; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in her; and his slaves shall serve him;

²¹ Jesus said unto him, If thou desire to be perfect, go and sell what thou hast and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me.

⁴¹ Then he shall also say unto those who shall be on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels; ⁴² for I was hungry, and ye gave me no food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then they shall also answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister unto thee? ⁴⁵ Then he shall answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of my brothers, ye did it not to me. ⁴⁶ And they shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God does not give the Spirit by measure unto him.

³⁸ And ye do not have his word abiding in you; for whom he has sent, him ye do not believe.

²⁸ Then Jesus cried out in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye know me, and ye know from where I come, but I have not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

²⁶ I have many things to say and to judge regarding you, but he that sent me is true; and those things which I have heard of him, I speak in the world.

⁴⁴ ¶ But Jesus cried and said, He that believes in me, believes not in me, but in him that sent me, ⁴⁵ and he that sees me sees him that sent me. ⁴⁶ I am come as a light into the world that whosoever believes in me should not abide in darkness. ⁴⁷ And if anyone hears my words and believes not, I judge him not, for I came not to judge the world but to save the world. ⁴⁸ He that rejects me and does not receive my words has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. ⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak. ⁵⁰ And I know that his commandment is eternal life; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

¹⁶ In this we have known the charity of God because he laid down his life for us; we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whosoever has this world’s goods and sees his brother have need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the charity of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And in this we know that we are of the truth and have our hearts certified before him. ²⁰ ¶ And if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

²⁹ And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

¹¹ These things I have spoken unto you that my joy may abide in you and that your joy might be fulfilled.

¹ ¶ These things I have spoken unto you that ye should not be offended. ² They shall put you out of the synagogues, and the hour will even come when whosoever kills you will think that he does God service. ³ And they will do these things unto you because they do not know the Father, nor me. ⁴ But I have told you these things that when that hour shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And I did not say these things unto you at the beginning because I was with you.

¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

⁶ ¶ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou didst give me out of the world; thine they were, and thou didst give them me; and they have kept thy word. ⁷ Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. ⁸ For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

⁸ ¶ Cheth Good and upright is the LORD: therefore he will teach sinners in the way. ⁹ Teth He will cause the humble to pass through the judgment, and the meek he will teach his way.

¹² Lamed Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. ¹³ Mem His soul shall rest in that which is good; and his seed shall inherit the earth. ¹⁴ Nun The secret of the LORD is for those that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.

¹¹ Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

¹³ And all thy sons shall be taught of the LORD; and the peace of thy sons shall be multiplied.

¹⁰ But they were rebels and angered his holy Spirit; therefore, he was turned to be their enemy, and he himself fought against them.

¹⁸ ¶ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: That being, his mother Mary espoused to Joseph (before they came together) she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in dreams, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance, but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

¹⁹ Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

³⁶ For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

¹¹ But when they shall bring you to deliver you up, do not premeditate beforehand what ye shall speak, neither think ye regarding it, but whatever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit.

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

⁴¹ And it came to pass that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit;

⁶⁷ ¶ And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,

²⁵ ¶ And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

²² and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee is my delight.

¹³ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those that ask him?

⁴⁹ And, behold, I shall send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye are endued with power from on high.

²² Therefore when he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that has heard from the Father and has learned comes unto me.

¹⁶ His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him and that they had done these things unto him.

¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come. ¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it.

²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit;

² until the day in which, having given commandments by the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen, he was received on high;

⁴ and gathering them together, he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, Which, he said, ye have heard of me.

⁸ But ye shall receive the virtue of the Holy Spirit which shall come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

³ But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to defraud of the price of the land?

⁵¹ ¶ Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye.

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God

¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, when he said, John indeed baptized in water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

² As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work unto which I have called them.

⁴ ¶ So they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, departed unto Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

⁸ And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us,

²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:

⁶ ¶ Now passing through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia;

²⁸ Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has placed you as bishops to feed the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

³⁵ I have showed you in all things how that so labouring, ye ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

²⁵ And when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken this word, Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet unto our fathers,

¹⁰ But God has revealed this unto us by his Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. ¹¹ For who among men knows the things of man, except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no one has known the things of God, but the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that God has given us. ¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but with doctrine of the Holy Spirit, jointly fitting spiritual things by spiritual means.

³ Therefore I give you to understand, that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus anathema and that no one can call Jesus Lord but by the Holy Spirit.

⁶ in chastity, in knowledge, in meekness, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned charity,

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the charity of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

¹³ In whom ye also trusted, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your saving health; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of the promise,

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with which ye are sealed for the day of redemption.

⁵ For our gospel did not come unto you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and in full assurance as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. ⁶ ¶ And ye were made imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word with much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

⁸ He therefore that despises us, does not despise man, but God, who has also given unto us his Holy Spirit.

⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

⁷ ¶ Therefore, as the Holy Spirit saith, Today if ye will hear his voice,

¹⁵ Likewise the Holy Spirit gives us the same witness, who afterwards said,

¹² Unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but unto us they did administer the things, which are now announced unto you by those that have preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into.

²¹ For the prophecy did not come in times past by the will of man, but the holy men of God spoke being inspired by the Holy Spirit.

²⁰ ¶ But ye have the anointing of the Holy One, and ye know all things.

²⁰ But ye, beloved, building up yourselves upon your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

¹¹ He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}; He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

²⁶ the LORD lift up his face upon thee, and place peace in thee.

²⁹ When he gives rest, who then can make trouble? If he hides his face, who then can behold him? This applies to a nation and the same to a man,

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

³ Do not catch me away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.

¹¹ The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people in peace.

³ When I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

¹¹ In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid of what man can do unto me.

² ¶ He shall judge thy people with righteousness and thy poor with judgment.

⁷ In his days shall righteousness flourish and abundance of peace until there is no longer any moon.

¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

⁵ Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

⁷ Mem He shall not be afraid of evil rumours; Nun his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

²⁵ Thou shall not be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government is placed upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called The Wonderful One, The Counsellor, The God, The Mighty One, The Eternal Father, The Prince of Peace.

² Behold, O God my saving health, I will trust and not be afraid for JAH, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he also is become saving health unto me.

¹⁵ until the spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness is turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted for a forest. ¹⁶ Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness shall remain in the fruitful field. ¹⁷ And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness rest and security for ever.

¹⁰ ¶ Do not fear for I am with thee; do not be dismayed, for I am thy God, who strengthens thee; I will help thee always; I will always uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹⁴ Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye dead of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

⁷ For a small moment I have forsaken thee; but with great mercies I will gather thee. ⁸ In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with eternal mercy I will have compassion on thee, said the LORD thy Redeemer. ⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that I would not be wroth again with thee, nor reprehend thee. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall be removed, and the hills shall tremble; but my mercy shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be changed, said the LORD that has mercy on thee.

¹² For ye shall go out with joy, and be returned with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off and to him that is near, said the LORD; and healed him.

⁸ Do not be afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

¹⁷ Vau My soul removed itself far from peace; I forgot about good.

⁶ ¶ And thou, son of man, do not be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, for they are rebels; though thou find thyself among thorns and thy dwelling be with briers, do not be afraid of their words, nor fear before them, for they are a rebellious house.

¹ ¶ King Nebuchadnezzar, to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

²⁵ ¶ Then king Darius wrote unto all the peoples, nations, and tongues, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied unto you.

¹³ He shall build the temple of the LORD, and he shall bear the glory and shall sit and rule upon his throne, and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

²⁶ Fear them not therefore, for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor hid that shall not be known.

⁷⁹ to give light to those that dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.

¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will in man.

⁵ And into whatever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

⁴ And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of those that kill the body and, after that, have no more that they can do.

¹ ¶ Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

¹⁹ ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first of the sabbaths, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said unto them, Peace be unto you.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, Peace be unto you; as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.

²⁶ ¶ And again eight days later, his disciples were within and Thomas with them; then Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be unto you.

³⁶ The word which God sent unto the sons of Israel, preaching the gospel: peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent,

⁷ to all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints; ye have grace and peace of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus, the Christ.

¹ ¶ Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ,

⁶ For the prudence of the flesh is death, but the prudence of the Spirit, life and peace,

³ Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ And all this by God, who reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ for certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and having placed in us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did exhort you by us; we beseech you in Christ’s name, be ye reconciled to God. ²¹ For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

³ Grace be unto you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁶ And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

¹⁴ ¶ For he is our peace, who of both has made one, breaking down the middle wall of separation, ¹⁵ abolishing in his flesh the enmity, which was the law of commandments in the order of rites, to edify in himself the two in one new man, making peace, ¹⁶ and to reconcile both with God by the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} in one body, having slain the enmity thereby; ¹⁷ and he came and preached peace unto you who were afar off and to those that were near.

⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

² to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ and by him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, whether they are the things in the earth or the things in the heavens.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, into which likewise ye are called into one body, and be ye thankful.

² Grace unto you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ ¶ Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by every means. The Lord be with you all.

⁷ For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of strength and of love and of temperance.

² to whom Abraham also gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is King of peace;

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal testament,

⁴ John, to the seven congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} which are in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer; behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

⁸ But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

⁵ ¶ God is gone up with a shout of joy, the LORD with the sound of the shofar. ⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises. ⁷ For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

⁹ Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, by which thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious also that the LORD God might dwell among them.

¹ ¶ Behold my slave, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he shall give judgment unto the Gentiles.

⁵ And now, saith the LORD, he that formed me from the womb to be his slave, so that Jacob might be converted unto him. But if Israel will not be gathered, even so, yet I shall be esteemed in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. ⁶ And he said, It is a light thing that thou should be my slave to wake up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the desolations of Israel; I have also given thee for a light to the Gentiles that thou may be my saving health unto the end of the earth. ⁷ ¶ Thus has the LORD said, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the Gentiles abhor, to the slave of the tyrants, Kings shall see and be raised up as princes and shall worship because of the LORD, for faithful is the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen thee.

¹¹ He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. And by his knowledge shall my righteous slave justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities.

¹⁸ Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall declare judgment unto the Gentiles.

⁵¹ And it came to pass while he blessed them, he was parted from them and carried up into heaven. ⁵² And they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy ⁵³ and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

¹⁸ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

²⁹ My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. ³⁰ I and my Father are one.

¹⁶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The slave is not greater than his lord; neither is the apostle greater than he that sent him.

² In my Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. ⁴ ¶ So that ye know where I go, and ye know the way.

¹² ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes in me, the works that I do he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father.

¹⁶ ¶ A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. ¹⁷ Then some of his disciples said among themselves, What is this that he says unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me; and, Because I go to the Father? ¹⁸ They said therefore, What is this that he says, A little while? we cannot understand what he says. ¹⁹ Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of what I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? ²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice; but even though ye shall be sorrowful, your sorrow shall be turned into joy. ²¹ The woman, when she is in travail, has pain, because her hour is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers the anguish no more, for joy that a man is born into the world. ²² And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you.

¹⁷ Jesus said unto her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God.

³ But I would have you know that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.

²⁴ Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ For he must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. ²⁶ The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. ²⁷ For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under him, it is clear that he is excepted, who did put all things under him. ²⁸ And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also subject himself unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

⁶ who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, ⁷ but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, made in the likeness of men, ⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}.

² has in these last times spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages; ³ who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his substance and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁹ But we see this same Jesus, crowned with glory and honour, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. ¹⁰ ¶ For it was expedient that he, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, preparing to bring forth many sons in his glory, should perfect the author of their saving health through sufferings. ¹¹ For both he that sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, ¹² saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee. ¹³ And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God has given me. ¹⁴ ¶ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the empire of death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to slavery.

¹ ¶ Therefore, brethren, saints, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, ² who was faithful to him that appointed him over all his house, as also Moses was faithful. ³ For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honour than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by someone, but he that created all things is God.

¹¹ that said, I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, and What thou seest, write in a book and send it unto the seven congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} which are in Asia: unto Ephesus and unto Smyrna and unto Pergamos and unto Thyatira and unto Sardis and unto Philadelphia and unto Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I AM the first and the last, ¹⁸ and he that lives and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hades and of death.

²⁴ For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders in such a manner that they shall deceive, if possible, the very elect. ²⁵ Behold, I have told you before.

⁴ But I have told you these things that when that hour shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And I did not say these things unto you at the beginning because I was with you. ⁵ But now I go unto him that sent me, and none of you asks me, Where goest thou? ⁶ But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow has filled your heart. ⁷ ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. ⁸ And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment: ⁹ of sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; ¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. ¹³ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and he will cause you to know the things which are to come. ¹⁴ He shall clarify me, for he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he shall take of that which is mine and shall cause you to know it. ¹⁶ ¶ A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. ¹⁷ Then some of his disciples said among themselves, What is this that he says unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me; and, Because I go to the Father? ¹⁸ They said therefore, What is this that he says, A little while? we cannot understand what he says. ¹⁹ Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of what I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me; and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? ²⁰ Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice; but even though ye shall be sorrowful, your sorrow shall be turned into joy. ²¹ The woman, when she is in travail, has pain, because her hour is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers the anguish no more, for joy that a man is born into the world. ²² And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you. ²³ ¶ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give you. ²⁴ Until now ye have asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be fulfilled. ²⁵ I have spoken these things unto you in proverbs, but the hour comes when I shall no longer speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. ²⁶ In that day ye shall ask in my name, and I do not say unto you that I will ask the Father for you; ²⁷ for the Father himself loves you because ye have loved me and have believed that I came out from God. ²⁸ ¶ I came forth from the Father and am come into the world; again, I leave the world and go to the Father. ²⁹ His disciples said unto him, Behold, now thou speakest plainly and speakest no proverb. ³⁰ Now we understand that thou knowest all things and needest not that anyone should ask thee; by this we believe that thou didst come forth from God. ³¹ Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

⁵³ When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me; but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, concerning me. ⁴⁵ Then he opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures ⁴⁶ and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day; ⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ And ye are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And, behold, I shall send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye are endued with power from on high.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

³ unto whom he also showed himself alive, after he had suffered, by many infallible proofs, appearing unto them for forty days and speaking to them of the kingdom of God;

⁴ In whom the god of this age has blinded the understanding of those who do not believe, that the light of the gospel of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine in them.

²¹ For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

² in which in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the will of the prince of the power of this air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience,

¹² For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the lords of this age, rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens.

¹³ who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,

²⁶ For it was expedient that we have such a high priest, who is holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens,

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of the Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without contamination,

²² who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth,

⁵ And ye know that he appeared to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. ⁶ Whosoever abides in him does not sin: whosoever sins has not seen him or known him. ⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you; he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he also is righteous. ⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared, that he might undo the works of the devil.

¹⁹ And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old, who is called Devil and the Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, the serpent of old, which is the Devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years ³ and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon it, that he should deceive the Gentiles no more, until the thousand years should be fulfilled; and after it is necessary that he be loosed a little while.

⁷ And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison ⁸ and shall go out to deceive the Gentiles which are upon the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

⁸ I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my bowels.

³⁹ And he went a little further and fell on his face, praying and saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

⁴⁶ Rise, let us be going; behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how I am anguished until it is accomplished!

³⁴ Jesus said unto them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.

¹⁸ No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment I have received of my Father.

⁹ ¶ As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.

¹ ¶ When Jesus had spoken these things, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where there was a garden, into which he entered, and his disciples. ² And Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus gathered there often with his disciples. ³ Judas then, taking a company of soldiers and ministers of the high priests and of the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. ⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

¹¹ Then Jesus said unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath; the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink it?

⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, was heard because of his reverent fear; ⁸ although he was the Son of God, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered;

⁵ Therefore when he came into the world, he said, Sacrifice and offering thou dost not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me; ⁶ in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. ⁷ ¶ Then said I, Behold, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou dost not desire, neither hadst pleasure therein, which are offered by the law; ⁹ then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will, O God. He took away the first, that he may establish the second.

² with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who having been offered joy, endured the cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, despising the shame and was seated at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself lest ye be wearied in your souls and faint.
