A Song or Psalm. ¶ Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth; ² sing forth the glory of his name; put glory into thy praise. ³ Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. ⁴ All the earth shall worship thee and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. ⁵ Come and see the works of God; he is terrible in his doing toward the sons of men. ⁶ He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in him. ⁷ He rules by his power for ever; his eyes watch the Gentiles; the rebellious shall not exalt themselves. Selah. ⁸ ¶ O bless our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of his praise to be heard. ⁹ It is he who placed our soul into life and did not suffer our feet to slip. ¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us; thou hast refined us as silver is refined. ¹¹ Thou didst bring us into the net; thou didst lay affliction upon our loins. ¹² Thou hast placed a man over our head; we went through fire and through water, but thou didst bring us out into abundance. ¹³ ¶ I will go into thy house with burnt offerings; I will pay thee my vows, ¹⁴ which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble. ¹⁵ I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. ¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he has done unto my soul. ¹⁷ I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. ¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: ¹⁹ But verily God has heard me; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. ²⁰ Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer nor his mercy from me.

²⁸ Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting and with sound of the shofar and with trumpets and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

²³ Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; show forth from day to day his saving health. ²⁴ Declare his glory among the Gentiles; his marvellous works among all peoples.

A Psalm of Asaph. ¶ Sing aloud unto God our strength; make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

¹ ¶ O come, let us bring joy unto the LORD; let us sing with joy unto the rock of our saving health. ² Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and sing unto him with joy.

¹ ¶ O sing unto the LORD a new song; sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

⁴ ¶ Sing with joy unto the LORD, all the earth; lift up thy voice and rejoice and sing praises.

¹ A Psalm of praise. ¶ Make a joyful noise unto the LORD all the earth.

¹ ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye Gentiles; praise him, all ye peoples. ² For he has greatly increased his mercy upon us; and the truth of the LORD endures for ever. Halelu-JAH.

¹⁶ ¶ From the uttermost part of the earth we have heard psalms, Glory to the righteous one. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

¹⁰ ¶ and blessed the LORD before all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. ¹¹ Thine, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the honour, for all things in the heavens and in the earth are thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. ¹² The riches and the glory are before thee, and thou dost reign over all, and in thy hand is power and might and in thy hand the greatness and the strength of all things. ¹³ Now, therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

⁵ Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever; and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises. ⁷ For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

¹⁸ ¶ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, the only one who does wondrous things

⁹ Help us, O God, our saving health, for the honor of thy name and deliver us and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.

³ Declare his glory among the Gentiles, his wonders among all peoples. ⁴ For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. ⁵ For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. ⁶ Honour and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. ⁷ Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the peoples, give unto the LORD the glory and the strength. ⁸ Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; bring offerings, and come into his courts. ⁹ O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; fear before him, all the earth. ¹⁰ ¶ Say among the Gentiles that the LORD reigns; he also has established the world, it shall not be moved; he shall judge the peoples righteously.

² Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him; speak of all his wondrous works. ³ Glory in his holy name; let the heart of those that seek the LORD rejoice.

² Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can show forth all his praise?

¹⁵ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his mercy and for his wonderful works unto the sons of Adam!

²² And let them offer the sacrifices of praise and publish his works with singing.

³ And one cried out unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of the hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.

⁴ ¶ And in that day ye shall say, Sing unto the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the peoples, remember how his name is exalted. ⁵ Sing psalms unto the LORD; for he has done excellent things; let this be known in all the earth. ⁶ Rejoice and sing, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

¹² Let them give glory unto the LORD and declare his praise in the islands.

¹³ ¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

⁸ ¶ And the four animals had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes within, and they did not cease day or night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. ⁹ And when those animals give glory and honour and praise to the one that is seated on the throne, who lives for ever and ever, ¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before him that is seated on the throne and worship him that lives for ever and ever and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ¹¹ Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and virtue; for thou hast created all things, and by thy will they have their being and were created.

¹³ And I heard every creature which is in heaven and upon the earth and under the earth and such as are upon the sea and all that are in it, saying, Blessing and honour and glory and power, be unto him that is seated upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

¹ ¶ Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song unto the LORD and spoke, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. ² The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my saving health; he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. ³ The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name. ⁴ Pharaoh’s chariots and his host he has cast into the sea; his chosen princes also are drowned in the Red sea. ⁵ The depths have covered them; they sank into the bottom as a stone. ⁶ Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power; thy right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces. ⁷ And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown those that rose up against thee; thou didst send forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. ⁸ And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. ⁹ The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. ¹⁰ Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them. They sank as lead in the mighty waters. ¹¹ Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, magnificent in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? ¹² Thou didst stretch out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹³ Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed; thou hast guided them in thy strength unto the habitation of thy holiness. ¹⁴ The peoples shall hear and be afraid; sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. ¹⁵ Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling, shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. ¹⁶ Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone, until thy people pass over, O LORD, until the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.

²¹ And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

² Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. ³ Hear, O ye kings. Give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will praise the LORD God of Israel. ⁴ LORD, when thou didst go out of Seir, when thou didst march out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped; the clouds also dropped water.

²⁰ They fought from the heavens; the stars from their ways fought against Sisera. ²¹ The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. Tread down, O my soul, with strength. ²² Then were the hoofs of the horses broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.

⁴⁴ As soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me: the sons of strangers submitted themselves unto me even against their will.

²⁸ For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and he shall have dominion over the Gentiles. ²⁹ All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship; all those that go down to the dust shall bow before him; and no one can keep his own soul alive.

² For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

⁵ With tremendous things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our saving health, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth and of those that are afar off upon the sea:

³⁰ Reprehend the company of spearmen, the multitude of the strong, with the lords of the peoples, trampling them underfoot with their pieces of silver; Destroy thou the peoples that delight in war.

¹² He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

³⁵ And they remembered that God was their rock and the high God their redeemer. ³⁶ Nevertheless they flattered him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

¹⁵ The haters of the LORD would have submitted themselves unto him, and their time would endure for ever.

¹⁹ And they shall go into the holes of the rocks and into the caves of the earth, because of the terrible presence of the LORD and because of the glory of his majesty when he shall arise to smite the earth.

³ As thou didst come down when thou didst terrible things which we did not look for, that the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

¹⁰ But the LORD God is the Truth, he himself is Living God and Everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembles, and the Gentiles shall not be able to abide his indignation.

²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto the LORD; and all the families of the Gentiles shall worship before thee.

² That thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all the Gentiles. ³ Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee.

¹ ¶ O praise the LORD, all ye Gentiles; praise him, all ye peoples.

² And it shall come to pass in the last of the days or times, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be confirmed as the head of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all the Gentiles shall flow unto it. ³ And many peoples shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. ⁴ And he shall judge among the Gentiles and shall rebuke many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruninghooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

¹⁰ Sing unto the LORD a new song and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea and all that is therein, the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. ¹¹ Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits; let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout {Heb. command} from the top of the mountains. ¹² Let them give glory unto the LORD and declare his praise in the islands.

²² Thus has the Lord GOD said, Behold, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles and raise up my banner as an example to the peoples: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. ²³ And kings shall be thy nursing fathers and their princesses thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for those that wait for me shall not be ashamed.

¹⁴ And he gave him dominion and glory and kingdom; and all the peoples, nations, and tongues served him: his dominion is an eternal dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom such that it shall never be corrupted.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same, my name is great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense is offered unto my name, and a clean offering; for my name is great among the Gentiles, said the LORD of the hosts.

⁴ Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and magnify thy name? for thou only art holy; therefore, all the Gentiles shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

²³ Because there is no enchantment in Jacob, neither is there any divination in Israel. According to this time, it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What God has made!

⁸ Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he has made in the earth.

³ Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he has done unto my soul.

³ Let them praise thy great and terrible name, for it is holy.

¹ A Song of degrees. ¶ When the LORD shall turn again the captivity of Zion, we shall be like those that dream. ² Then our mouth shall be filled with laughter and our tongue with singing; then they shall say among the Gentiles, The LORD has done great things with them. ³ The LORD has done great things with us, of which we shall be glad.

¹⁸ And their ribs were high and dreadful, and full of eyes round about them in all four.

¹⁴ ¶ And it came to pass when the people removed from their tents to pass the Jordan and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,

¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far from the city of Adam, that is beside Zaretan; and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed and were cut off; and the people passed over right against Jericho.

¹³ He divided the sea and caused them to pass through, and he made the waters to stand as a heap.

⁵ who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved by any age. ⁶ Thou didst cover it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

⁸ Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. ⁹ He reprehended the Red sea also, and it was dried up, so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. ¹⁰ And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. ¹¹ And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. ¹² Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.

¹³ To him who divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endures for ever: ¹⁴ And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endures for ever:

¹³ He that led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, they never stumbled. ¹⁴ The Spirit of the LORD pastored them as a beast that goes down into the valley; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

² And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire and those that had gotten the victory over the beast and over its image and over its mark and over the number of its name stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

¹¹ Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods; for in the thing in which they dealt proudly he prevailed against them.

⁹ For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly, for from now on thou shalt have wars.

⁴ He is wise in heart and mighty in strength; who has hardened himself against him and remained in peace?

¹⁰ ¶ Understand now therefore, O ye kings: receive chastening, ye judges of the earth. ¹¹ Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled in a little while. Blessed are all those that put their trust in him.

⁴ ¶ The LORD is in the temple of his holiness, the LORD’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men.

¹³ The LORD looked from heaven; he saw all the sons of Adam.

A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. ¶ Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day. ² Thy tongue devises wickedness like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. ³ Thou dost love evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. ⁴ Thou dost love all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. ⁵ God shall likewise cast thee down for ever; he shall cut thee off and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

¹¹ God has spoken once; twice have I heard this that power belongs unto God.

³ For I became angry against the foolish when I saw the peace of the wicked. ⁴ Because there is no restraint that would bring about their death, but their strength is firm. ⁵ They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. ⁶ Therefore they are crowned with pride; they cover themselves with violence as a garment. ⁷ Their eyes stand out with fatness; they easily obtain the desires of their heart. ⁸ They are lawless and speak wickedly of doing violence; they speak loftily. ⁹ They set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue walks through the earth. ¹⁰ Therefore his people shall return here; and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. ¹¹ And they say, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? ¹² Behold, these ungodly men, without being troubled by the world obtain riches.

⁴ I said unto the fools, Do not deal foolishly and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn: ⁵ Do not lift up your horn on high; speak not with a stiff neck.

⁸ ¶ Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not further his wicked thought lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

¹³ Mem Thy kingdom is a kingdom of all ages, and thy dominion endures throughout all generations.

⁷ Howbeit he shall not think like this; not even in his heart shall he imagine this way of doing things, but his thought shall be to destroy and cut off nations not a few. ⁸ For he shall say, Are not my princes altogether kings? ⁹ Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus? ¹⁰ As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel those of Jerusalem and of Samaria; ¹¹ shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? ¹² Therefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed his whole work upon Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will come upon the fruit of the pride of the heart of the king of Assyria, and upon the glory of his high looks. ¹³ For he said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have been prudent: and I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and I have cast down as valiant ones those who were seated: ¹⁴ And my hand has found as a nest the riches of the peoples: and as one gathers eggs that are left, I have taken control over all the earth; and there was no one that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped. ¹⁵ Shall the axe boast itself against him that hews with it? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that moves it? as if the rod should rise up against those that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift itself up. Is it not wood? ¹⁶ Therefore shall the Lord, the LORD of the hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.

²⁸ I have understood thy state, thy going out and thy coming in, and thy rage against me. ²⁹ Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou didst come.

³⁵ and all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing; and in the army of heaven and in the inhabitants of the earth, he does according to his will; nor is there anyone who can interfere with his hand and say unto him, What doest thou?

²⁰ But when his heart made itself arrogant, and his spirit hardened itself in pride, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his glory from him: ²¹ and he was driven from among the sons of men; and his heart was put with the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they made him eat grass like an ox, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven until he understood that the most high God takes rule of the kingdom of men and that he appoints over it whomever he will. ²² And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this; ²³ but hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou and thy princes, thy wives and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; furthermore, thou hast praised gods of silver and of gold, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know; and the God in whose hand is thy soul and whose are all thy ways, thou hast never honoured. ²⁴ Then from his presence was sent the palm of the hand that sculpted this writing. ²⁵ And the writing that he sculpted is, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. ²⁶ This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has audited thy kingdom and finished it. ²⁷ TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances and art found wanting. ²⁸ PERES; Thy kingdom has been broken and is given to the Medes and Persians.

²⁶ On my behalf a statute is put into effect, That in all the dominion of my kingdom everyone tremble at the presence of the God of Daniel for he is the living God and endures for all ages, and his kingdom is such that it shall never come apart, and his dominion shall be even unto the end: ²⁷ that saves and frees, and makes signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

⁴³ Rejoice, O ye Gentiles, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his slaves and will render vengeance to his enemies and will reconcile his land, to his people.

¹¹ the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of those that shall say, Praise the LORD of the hosts; for the LORD is good; for his mercy endures for ever: and of those that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captivity of the land to turn as at the first, said the LORD.

⁵ ¶ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his slaves and ye that fear him, both small and great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great company and as the voice of many waters and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Halelu-JAH; for the Lord God almighty reigns.

⁹ He keeps the feet of his saints, and the wicked perish in darkness, for no man shall prevail by their own strength.

²⁹ Yet a man is risen to pursue thee and to seek thy soul, but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God, and he shall hurl forth the souls of thine enemies as out of the middle of a sling.

²⁹ All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship; all those that go down to the dust shall bow before him; and no one can keep his own soul alive.

²³ Mem The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and he delights in his way. ²⁴ Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

¹⁶ who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, a food which thy fathers knew not, afflicting thee and proving thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

³ thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

¹⁰ But he has known the way that I take; he has tried me, and I have come forth as gold.

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast refined me and hast found no iniquity; that which I thought did not pass through my mouth.

³ ¶ The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tries the hearts.

¹⁰ Behold, I have refined thee, and not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

⁹ And I will put the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; He shall call on my name, and I will hear him; I will say, My people, and he shall say, The LORD is my God.

⁶ ¶ In which ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are afflicted in diverse temptations, ⁷ that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold (which perishes, nevertheless it is tried with fire), might be found unto praise and glory and honour when Jesus, the Christ, is made manifest;

¹¹ Bless, O LORD, his ministry, {Heb. men of valour} and take pleasure in the work of his hands; smite through the loins of those that rise up against him and of those that hate him that they may never rise again.

¹⁶ Likewise, he would have removed thee out of the mouth of anguish into a broad place where there is no distress and should have set thy table full of fatness.

² He brought me up also out of the pit of hopelessness, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and straightened my steps. ³ And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; many shall see it and fear and shall wait on the LORD.

³⁵ He turns the wilderness into reservoirs of water and dry ground into watersprings. ³⁶ And there he makes the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation ³⁷ and sow the fields and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

¹ A Song of degrees. ¶ Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say: ² Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me. ³ The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.

²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime didst receive thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted here, and thou art tormented.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to remain in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

³ that no one should be moved in these tribulations, for you know that we are appointed for this. ⁴ For even when we were with you, we told you in advance that we must pass through tribulations, even as it has come to pass, and ye know.

¹¹ Behold, we count blessed those who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very merciful, and full of compassion.

¹⁴ And I said unto him, lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are those who came out of great tribulation and have washed their long robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple, and he that is seated on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more neither thirst anymore; neither shall the sun be thrust upon them nor any other heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall govern them and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹¹ then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; there shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offerings of your hand and all your choice of vows which ye vow unto the LORD; ¹² and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye and your sons and your daughters and your menslaves and your maidslaves and the Levite that is within your gates because he has no part nor inheritance with you.

²⁵ My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before those that fear him.

¹⁸ Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion; build thou the walls of Jerusalem. ¹⁹ Then thou shalt be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, the burnt offering, the offering that has been totally consumed by the fire; then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

¹² Thy promises are upon me, O God; I will render praises unto thee.

⁴ Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

¹⁷ I will offer unto thee the sacrifice of praise and will invoke the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the LORD’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Halelu-JAH.

¹² But if her husband has utterly made them void on the day he heard them, then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand; her husband has made them void, and the LORD shall forgive her.

³⁵ And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of those that trouble me, for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back. ³⁶ And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which has proceeded out of thy mouth, forasmuch as the LORD has taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the sons of Ammon.

¹¹ and she vowed a vow and said, O LORD of the hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thy handmaid and remember me and not forget thy handmaid but wilt give unto thy handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.

So all the people departed each one to his house.

⁵ that there came certain men of Shechem, of Shiloh, and of Samaria, eighty men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the LORD.

²³ Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. ²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor in spirit; neither has he hid his face from him, but when he cried unto him, he heard.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and I have not hid my iniquity. I said, I will confess (against myself) my rebellions unto the LORD, and thou shalt forgive the iniquity of my sin. Selah. ⁶ For this shall every one that is merciful pray unto thee in the time when thou may be found; surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near unto him.

² Beth My soul shall glory in the LORD; the meek shall hear of this, and be glad.

¹¹ ¶ Caph Come, ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

⁵ Come and see the works of God; he is terrible in his doing toward the sons of men.

⁸ And last of all he appeared unto me also, as of one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, for I am not worthy to be called an apostle because I persecuted the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am; and his grace towards me was not in vain, for I laboured more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

¹⁵ This is a faithful saying and worthy of acceptation by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first. ¹⁶ But for this cause I was received unto mercy that in me first, Jesus Christ might show forth all clemency, for an example to those who should hereafter believe in him for eternal life.

³ that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that ye also may have communion with us; and truly our communion is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

⁹ ¶ He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; likewise, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood.

³¹ Now we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone should fear God and do his will, him he will hear.

³ Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your pleasures.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, was heard because of his reverent fear;

²⁰ ¶ And if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence in God; ²² and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men; ¹⁵ but my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I took away from before thee.

²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor in spirit; neither has he hid his face from him, but when he cried unto him, he heard.

¹¹ Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

³⁵ O God, thou art terrible out of thy sanctuaries; the God of Israel is he that gives strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

¹² I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify thy name for evermore. ¹³ For great is thy mercy upon me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest part of Sheol.
