¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, ² Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? ³ Gird up now your loins like a man; for I will demand of you, and you answer me. ⁴ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding. ⁵ Who has determined the measures thereof, if you know? or who has stretched the line upon it? ⁶ On what are its foundations fastened? or who laid its cornerstone; ⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? ⁹ When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band, ¹⁰ And prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Thus far shall you come, but no farther: and here shall your proud waves be stopped? ¹² Have you commanded the morning since your days began; and caused the dawn to know its place; ¹³ That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it? ¹⁴ It is turned as clay under the seal; and they stand out as a garment. ¹⁵ And from the wicked their light is withheld, and the uplifted arm shall be broken. ¹⁶ Have you entered into the springs of the sea? or have you walked in search of the depths? ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed unto you? or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? ¹⁸ Have you perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if you know it all. ¹⁹ Where is the way where light dwells? and as for darkness, where is its place, ²⁰ That you should take it to its domain, and that you should know the paths to its home? ²¹ Do you know it, because you were born then? or because the number of your days is great? ²² Have you entered into the treasury of the snow? or have you seen the treasury of the hail, ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ By what way is the light distributed, which scatters the east wind upon the earth? ²⁵ Who has divided a channel for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; ²⁶ To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man; ²⁷ To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender grass to spring forth? ²⁸ Has the rain a father? or who has begotten the drops of dew? ²⁹ Out of whose womb came the ice? and the frost from heaven, who has given it birth? ³⁰ The waters harden like a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. ³¹ Can you bind the cluster of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? ³² Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in its season? or can you guide Arcturus with its children? ³³ Know you the ordinances of heaven? can you set their dominion in the earth? ³⁴ Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover you? ³⁵ Can you send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto you, Here we are? ³⁶ Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? or who has given understanding to the heart? ³⁷ Who can number the clouds by wisdom? or who can pour out the water skins of heaven, ³⁸ When the dust grows into clumps, and the clods cleave fast together? ³⁹ Will you hunt the prey for the lion? or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, ⁴⁰ When they crouch in their dens, and abide in their lairs to lie in wait? ⁴¹ Who provides for the raven its food? when its young ones cry unto God, they wander about for lack of food.

¹⁶ And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled. ¹⁷ And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the lower part of the mount. ¹⁸ And mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. ¹⁹ And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

¹¹ And you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness. ¹² And the LORD spoke unto you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of the words, but saw no form; only you heard a voice.

²² These words the LORD spoke unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me. ²³ And it came to pass, when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that you came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; ²⁴ And you said, Behold, the LORD our God has showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does talk with man, and he lives.

¹¹ And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:

¹ And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

¹¹ And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and separated them both; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹ At this also my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place. ² Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goes out of his mouth.

⁹ Out of the south comes the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

¹⁴ Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

⁶ Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

⁴ And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire engulfing itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of its midst as the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

³ The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

³ But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knows not such things as these?

⁴ I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

²⁵ And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech worth nothing?

³ How have you counseled him that has no wisdom? and how have you plentifully declared the thing as it is?

¹¹ I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

³⁵ Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

¹⁶ Therefore does Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplies words without knowledge.

³ Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

⁷ Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor the things they affirm.

¹¹ And thus shall you eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.

⁴⁶ And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

¹⁵ Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will defend my own ways before him.

²² Then call, and I will answer: or let me speak, and you answer me.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! ⁴ I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. ⁶ Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. ⁷ There the righteous might reason with him; so should I be delivered forever from my judge.

³⁵ Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book. ³⁶ Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me. ³⁷ I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I go near unto him.

⁷ Gird up your loins now like a man: I will demand of you, and declare you unto me.

¹⁷ You therefore prepare yourself, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command you: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them.

¹³ Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

²⁵ Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands.

⁵ Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever.

²² The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his command: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: ³⁰ Then I was by him, like a master workman: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

⁴ Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if you can tell?

² Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

¹⁰ And, you, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of your hands:

⁹ The measure of it is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

²⁵ To make the weight for the wind; and he apportions the waters by measure.

⁴ Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun,

⁵⁵ He cast out the nations also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he drew a circle upon the face of the depth:

²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his command: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

¹¹ But the hawk and the porcupine shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.

¹² Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and measured out heaven with the span, and known the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

²² It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:

¹ I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand. ² Then said I, where go you? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its breadth, and what is its length.

¹⁶ To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's field of things made ready to our hand.

¹⁸ And you shall make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward. ¹⁹ And you shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons. ²⁰ And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards: ²¹ And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. ²² And for the sides of the tabernacle westward you shall make six boards. ²³ And two boards shall you make for the corners of the tabernacle in the rear. ²⁴ And they shall be coupled together at the bottom, and they shall be coupled together at the top of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners. ²⁵ And there shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the rubbish, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he has set the world upon them.

⁷ He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing.

² For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

¹ The LORD reigns, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, with which he has girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

²² The stone which the builders rejected has become the head stone of the corner.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner pillars, polished after the similitude of a palace:

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not be in haste.

¹ The burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel, says the LORD, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

²⁰ And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ In whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto a holy temple in the Lord:

⁵ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

¹¹ And they sang together responsively in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endures forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid. ¹² But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, who were old men, who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

⁶ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

¹ Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

⁴ Who makes his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

⁷ Who are you, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain: and he shall bring forth its headstone with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

²⁸ And I will give him the morning star.

¹¹ And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

⁹ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

¹⁰ And prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors,

⁷ He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses.

⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which you have founded for them. ⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²² Fear you not me? says the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

⁹ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁵ And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

¹⁰ He has drawn a circle on the waters at the boundary where the day and night come together.

⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²² In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God with wrong.

⁶ And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but spare his life.

⁶ Who by his strength established the mountains; being girded with power: ⁷ Who stills the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: the remainder of wrath shall you restrain.

⁹ You rule the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, you still them.

³ The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. ⁴ The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

⁸ In measure, by sending it away, you will contend with it: he removes it with his fierce blast in the day of the east wind.

³⁹ And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. ⁴⁰ And he said unto them, Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no faith? ⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

³² And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would allow them to enter into them. And he allowed them. ³³ Then went the demons out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were drowned.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, who is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, ³ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little while.

⁷ And when the thousand years are ended, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, ⁸ And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

⁹ (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

⁷ Are you the first man that was born? or were you made before the hills?

⁴ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding.

²¹ Do you know it, because you were born then? or because the number of your days is great?

¹⁶ The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun.

⁷ To him that made great lights: for his mercy endures forever: ⁸ The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endures forever:

³ Praise him, sun and moon: praise him, all you stars of light. ⁴ Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters that be above the heavens. ⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

⁷⁸ Through the tender mercy of our God; by which the dawn from on high has visited us,

¹⁹ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; to which you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

²⁷ And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its place when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

¹³ They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not its ways, nor abide in its paths. ¹⁴ The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief. ¹⁵ The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguises his face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light. ¹⁷ For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one recognizes them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

³ He directs it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

⁴ Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun, ⁵ Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. ⁶ Its going forth is from the end of the heaven, and its circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²² The sun arises, they gather themselves together, and lay themselves down in their dens.

³⁵ Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless you the LORD, O my soul. Praise you the LORD.

⁹ If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; ¹⁰ Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. ¹¹ If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. ¹² Yea, the darkness hides not from you; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you.

² Who covers yourself with light as with a garment: who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:

⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

²¹ And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. ²² And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: ²³ They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

¹⁸ And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Strike these people, I pray you, with blindness. And he struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

¹⁴ They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

⁵ Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine.

¹⁸ He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till you find none.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholds the righteous.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

²¹ And they shall pass through it, hardpressed and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall be enraged, and curse their king and their God, and look upward. ²² And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they shall be driven into darkness.

¹⁶ Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.

²² Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

¹⁰ And said, O full of all deceit and all mischief, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? ¹¹ And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

⁵ Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof. ⁶ Sheol is naked before him, and destruction has no covering.

¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and your path in the great waters, and your footsteps are not known.

²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

³⁶ Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

⁵ Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

²² He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.

¹³ Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer from them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death:

⁴ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.

¹⁰ Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and in irons;

¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands asunder.

¹⁸ Their soul abhors all manner of food; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

³ The sorrows of death surrounded me, and the pangs of sheol got hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

⁸ Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

¹⁶ The people who sat in darkness saw great light; and to them who sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up.

²⁴ For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole heaven;

¹⁷ You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter.

¹¹ The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours: as for the world and the fullness thereof, you have founded them. ¹² The north and the south, you have created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in your name.

²⁸ Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

³⁷ Thus says the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the descendants of Israel for all that they have done, says the LORD.

⁹ And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and encircled the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

³ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: ¹⁵ And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. ¹⁶ And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. ¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, ¹⁸ And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ And lest you lift up your eyes unto heaven, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has apportioned unto all nations under the whole heaven.

¹¹ He made darkness his secret place; his canopy round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

²⁰ You make darkness, and it is night: in which all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

²⁸ He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

⁷ I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create calamity: I the LORD do all these things.

⁸ All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and set darkness upon your land, says the Lord GOD.

¹³ For, lo, he that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares unto man what is his thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

⁹ That was the true Light, that lights every man that comes into the world.

¹² Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

¹⁹ And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, unto Gaza; as you go, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

¹⁷ And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made over

¹² Have you commanded the morning since your days began; and caused the dawn to know its place;

¹⁶ Which are black by reason of the ice, and in which the snow is hid:

⁶ For he says to the snow, Be on the earth; likewise to the gentle rain, and to the heavy rain of his strength.

⁷ He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings the wind out of his treasuries.

¹⁸ Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the foundation of it even until now.

²⁴ So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

¹¹ And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were on the decent to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more who died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

¹³ But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he binds them.

³¹ For by them judges he the people; he gives food in abundance.

³⁰ And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the descending of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

¹¹ Say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall break it. ¹² Lo, when the wall has fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing with which you have daubed it? ¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; I will even break it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

²⁷ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

²¹ And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceedingly great.

⁸ And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, so that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

²⁷ For as the lightning came out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁶ When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

²⁷ For he makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to its vapor: ²⁸ Which the clouds do drop and pour upon man abundantly.

³ He directs it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. ⁴ After it a voice roars: he thunders with the voice of his excellency; and he will not restrain them when his voice is heard. ⁵ God thunders marvelously with his voice; great things does he, which we cannot comprehend. ⁶ For he says to the snow, Be on the earth; likewise to the gentle rain, and to the heavy rain of his strength.

³ The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thunders: the LORD is upon many waters. ⁴ The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. ⁵ The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; yea, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon. ⁶ He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox. ⁷ The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire. ⁸ The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. ⁹ The voice of the LORD makes the hinds to calve, and strips bare the forests: and in his temple does every one speak of his glory. ¹⁰ The LORD sits upon the flood; yea, the LORD sits as King forever.

²⁷ For he makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to its vapor:

¹⁰ He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. ¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild donkeys quench their thirst. ¹² By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. ¹³ He waters the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works. ¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

³⁵ He turns the wilderness into a pool of water, and dry ground into water springs.

⁸ Who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains. ⁹ He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry.

¹ The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. ² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

¹⁸ I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. ¹⁹ I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:

¹⁹ Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. ²⁰ The beast of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

²² Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? are not you he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon you: for you have made all these things.

⁷ For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth plants fit for them by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God: ⁸ But that which bears thorns and briars is worthless, and is near unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

²⁸ Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine:

³⁹ And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;

¹³ And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, with the precious things of heaven, with the dew, and the deep lying beneath,

²⁸ Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of grain and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

¹⁷ Is it not wheat harvest today? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that you may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king. ¹⁸ So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

²¹ You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

⁹ Who does great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number: ¹⁰ Who gives rain upon the earth, and sends waters upon the fields:

¹⁹ My root was spread out to the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.

⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

⁹ You visit the earth, and water it: you greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water: you prepare them grain, when you have so provided for it. ¹⁰ You water its ridges abundantly: you settle its furrows: you make it soft with showers: you bless its growth.

⁸ Who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.

²⁰ By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

²⁴ Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season: he reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

¹³ When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his storehouses.

⁵ I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

²³ Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he has given you the former rain faithfully, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

⁷ And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one part was rained upon, and the part upon which it rained not withered.

⁴⁵ That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

¹⁰ By the breath of God ice is given: and the broad waters are frozen.

¹⁶ He gives snow like wool: he scatters the frost like ashes. ¹⁷ He casts forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

⁹ Who makes the Bear, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

⁵ And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the hosts of heaven.

³¹ Can you bind the cluster of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

¹⁶ And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

²² While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

⁹⁰ Your faithfulness is unto all generations: you have established the earth, and it abides. ⁹¹ They continue this day according to your ordinances: for all are your servants.

⁶ He has also established them forever and ever: he has made a decree which shall not pass.

³⁵ Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the fixed order of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: ³⁶ If those fixed orders depart from before me, says the LORD, then the descendants of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.

²⁵ Thus says the LORD; If my covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

¹⁸ So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

¹¹ Or darkness, that you can not see; and abundance of waters cover you.

¹ Ask of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to everyone grass in the field.

¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

²³ And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. ²⁴ So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

²⁹ And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will stretch forth my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is the LORD's.

² And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

¹ And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some that were in the outlying parts of the camp.

³⁵ And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

¹² And Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.

¹⁰ And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume you and your fifty men. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

¹⁴ Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in your sight.

³² With clouds he covers the light; and commands it not to shine by the cloud that comes between.

⁸ Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

¹ I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

⁵ And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. ⁶ These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

³ And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

¹ Then Bezalel and Oholiab labored, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded. ² And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:

⁴ He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and has prospered?

⁸ But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding.

⁶ Behold, you desire truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part you shall make me to know wisdom.

⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

²⁶ For God gives to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives the work of gathering and heaping up, only that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping of the wind.

²⁶ For his God does instruct him aright, and does teach him.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

¹ And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided;

⁵ And he brought him forth outside, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your descendants be.

⁴ He determines the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names.

¹⁰ The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken. ¹¹ The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the strong lion’s whelps are scattered abroad.

¹⁰ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.

²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

¹⁵ The eyes of all wait upon you; and you give them their food in due season. ¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

⁹ Judah is a lion's whelp: from the prey, my son, you are gone up: he stooped down, he crouched as a lion, and as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?

²⁴ Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up themselves as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eats of the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.

⁹ He crouched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesses you, and cursed is he that curses you.

⁸ Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

²⁷ These all wait upon you; that you may give them their food in due season. ²⁸ That which you give them they gather: you open your hand, they are filled with good.

⁹ He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry.

²⁶ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

²⁴ Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you better than the fowls?
