³⁹ And he went away and* proceeded, according to his* custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him.

¹ And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

³⁰ And after they* had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

³⁶ Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and* pray." ³⁷ And taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be distressed and troubled. ³⁸ Then he said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with me."

¹¹ And he went into Jerusalem to the temple, and after* looking around at everything, because* the hour was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹⁹ And when evening came they went out of the city.

³ And as* he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

²⁶ And after they* had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

³⁷ So throughout the days he was teaching in the temple courts,* and throughout the nights he was going out and* spending the night on the hill that is called the Mount of Olives.

¹ When* Jesus had said these things, he went out with his disciples to the other side of the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden into which he and his disciples entered. ² (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, also knew about the place, because Jesus often gathered there with his disciples.)
