⁶ Now some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

⁷ So they were discussing this* among themselves, saying, "It is because we did not take bread." ⁸ But knowing this,* Jesus said, "Why are you discussing among yourselves that you did not take bread,* you of little faith?

¹⁷ And knowing this,* he said to them, "Why are you discussing that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Have your hearts been hardened?

²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?" ²² But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered and* said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts?

⁵ and all pride that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
