⁵ Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse, he who keeps his soul shall be far from them.

¹³ know certainly that Jehovah your God shall not continue to expel these nations from before you, and they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which Jehovah your God has given you.

⁸ For he is sent into a net by his own feet; and he is walking on a snare;

⁶ He shall rain snares on the wicked; fire and brimstone and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

²⁶ with the pure, You reveal Yourself as pure; and with the crooked, You appear perverse; ²⁷ for You will save an afflicted people, but will bring down haughty eyes.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

³ He who guards his mouth keeps his life; he who opens his lips wide is ruined.

¹⁵ Good sense gives grace, but the way of traitors is ever flowing.

¹⁹ The way of the lazy one is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the righteous is exalted.

¹⁷ The way of the upright is to turn away from evil, he keeping his soul watches his way.

¹⁶ He who keeps the commandment keeps his own soul, he who despises His ways shall die.

¹⁸ We know that everyone having been born of God does not sin, but the one born of God keeps himself, and the evil does not touch him.

²⁰ But you, beloved, building yourselves up by your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, eagerly awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to everlasting life.
