³⁵ The king's favor is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him who causes shame.

⁴ A perverse heart will depart from me; I will not know the wicked. ⁵ Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; him who has a high look and a proud heart, I will not allow. ⁶ My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, so that they may dwell with me; he who walks in a perfect way, he shall serve Me. ⁷ He who works falsely shall not dwell within my house; he who tells lies shall not stay in my sight. ⁸ I will early destroy all the wicked of the land, so that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of Jehovah.

⁵ He who gathers in summer is a wise son; but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

² A wise servant shall have rule over a son who causes shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brothers.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

²¹ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.

⁴² And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall set over his houseservants, to give them their portion of food in season? ⁴³ Blessed is that servant when his lord comes and finds him so doing. ⁴⁴ Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions. ⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk, ⁴⁶ the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. ⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his lord's will and did not prepare, nor did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes. ⁴⁸ But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For to whomever much is given, of him much shall be required. And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
