²⁸ An ungodly witness scorns judgment, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.

¹⁰ And set two men, sons of Belial, before him to bear witness against him, saying, You blasphemed God and the king. And carry him out and stone him so that he may die.

¹³ And there came in two men, sons of Belial, and sat before him. And the men of Belial witnessed against him, against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth blasphemed God and the king. And they carried him out of the city and stoned him with stones so that he died.

¹⁶ How much more hateful and filthy is man, who drinks iniquity like water?

¹² Though wickedness is sweet in his mouth, though he hides it under his tongue; ¹³ though he spares it and will not leave it; yea, keeps it still in his mouth;

⁷ What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water;

⁵ His ways are always perverted; Your judgments are high, out of his sight. As for all his enemies, he puffs at them.

¹¹ He has said in his heart, God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will not see forever!

¹⁴ The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

¹⁴ Therefore hear the Word of Jehovah, scornful men who rule this people in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and we have made a vision with hell; when the overwhelming rod shall pass through, it shall not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood, ¹⁶ therefore so says the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I place in Zion a Stone for a foundation, a tried Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; he who believes shall not hurry. ¹⁷ Also I will lay judgment to the line, and righteousness to the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. ¹⁸ And your covenant with death shall be wiped out, and your vision with hell shall not stand; when the overwhelming rod shall pass through, then you shall be beaten down by it.

⁸ They eat up the sin of My people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
