³ How you have counseled him who has no wisdom and plentifully declared sound-knowledge!

¹³ Is it not that I have no help in me and that wisdom is driven from me?

³ But I have understanding as well as you*; I am not inferior to you*. Yes, who does not know such things as these?

⁵ O that you* would altogether be silent! And it would be your* wisdom.

⁸ Have you heard the secret counsel of God? And do you limit wisdom to yourself? ⁹ What do you know, that we do not know? What do you understand, which is not in us?
¹⁰ With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, much older than your father.

¹⁰ But as for you* all, come on now again and I will not find a wise man among you*.

¹¹ Behold, I waited for your* words, I listened for your* reasonings, while you* searched out what to say. ¹² Yes, I attended to you*. And behold, there was none who convinced Job, or who answered his words among you*.
¹³ Beware lest you* say, We have found wisdom. God may vanquish him, not man.

³ My words will utter the uprightness of my heart and what my lips know they will speak sincerely.

³³ If not, listen to me. Keep silent and I will teach you.

² Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

¹ Hear this, all you* peoples. Listen, all you* inhabitants of the world, ² both low and high, rich and poor together. ³ My mouth will speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart will be of understanding.
⁴ I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

¹⁵ My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all the day, because I do not know the numbers.
¹⁶ I will come with the mighty acts of the lord Jehovah. I will make mention of your righteousness, yours only!
¹⁷ O God, you have taught me from my youth and I have declared your wondrous works until now.
¹⁸ Yes, even when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not, until I have declared your strength to a generation, your might to everyone who is to come.

⁶ Hear, because I will speak excellent things. And the opening of my lips will be in uprightness. ⁷ Because my mouth will utter truth. And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them. ⁹ They are all straightforward to him who understands and right to those who find knowledge.

²⁰ how I did not retreat back in anything of what is advantageous for you, proclaiming and teaching you in public and in every house,

²⁷ For I did not retreat back from proclaiming to you the whole plan of God.
