²² Do not say, I will recompense evil. Wait for Jehovah and he will save you.

³⁵ Vengeance is for me and recompense at the time when their foot will slip. For the day of their calamity is at hand and the things that are to come upon them will make haste.

¹² It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done to me and that Jehovah will reward me good for his cursing of me this day.

¹⁴ Wait for Jehovah. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Jehovah.

³⁴ Wait for Jehovah and keep his way and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When sinners are cut off, you will see it.

¹³ He who rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.

²⁹ Do not say, I will do so to him as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work.

³¹ But those who wait for Jehovah will renew their strength. They will mount up with pinions like eagles. They will run and not be weary. They will walk and not faint.

²⁵ Jehovah is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. ²⁶ It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

³⁹ But I am saying to you, Not to stand against an evil man, but who ever slaps you upon your right jaw, turn also the other to him.

¹⁷ Repay to no one evil in exchange-for evil. Plan-for good things in the sight of all men. ¹⁸ If possible, what is from you should be at peace with all men.
¹⁹ Beloved, do not be avenging yourselves, but give a chance for the wrath of God; for it has been written, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying, says the Lord.’

¹⁵ See that not anyone repays evil in exchange-for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both toward one another and toward all.

²³ who, being reviled, was not reviling again in return; when suffering, was not threatening, (but was giving himself to the one who judges righteously),

⁹ not repaying evil in exchange-for evil or reviling in exchange-for reviling, but instead, speaking well of others; knowing that you were called for this, in order that you should inherit a blessing.

¹⁹ So-then those who are also suffering according to the will of God in good-doing, let them consign themselves, their souls, as to a faithful Creator.
