¹ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me, far from helping me and the words of my groaning?

²² For Jehovah will not forsake his people for his great name's sake, because it has pleased Jehovah to make you* a people to himself.

²⁴ For my sighing comes before I eat and my groanings are poured out like water.

¹ Why do you stand afar off, O Jehovah? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

¹ Preserve me, O God, because I take refuge in you.

¹¹ Do not be far from me, because trouble is near, because there is none to help.

¹⁶ Because dogs have encompassed me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They pierced my hands and my feet.

⁹ Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood,

¹⁴ But I trusted in you, O Jehovah. I said, You are my God. ¹⁵ My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
¹⁶ Make your face to shine upon your servant. Save me in your loving kindness.

³ Because I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all the day long. ⁴ Because day and night your hand was heavy upon me. My moisture was changed as with the drought of summer. Selah.

²⁸ Because Jehovah loves justice and does not forsake his holy ones. They are preserved everlasting, but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.

⁸ I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned because of the roaring of my heart.

¹ As the male-deer pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, O God. ² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

¹ Judge me, O God and plead my cause against a profane nation. O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
² Because you are the God of my strength. Why have you cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
³ O send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill and to your tabernacles. ⁴ Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy and I will praise you upon the harp, O God, my God.
⁵ Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you in an uproar within me? Hope in God, because I will yet praise him, the help of my countenance and my God.

¹¹ saying, God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him, because there is none to deliver.

¹³ I bring near my righteousness. It will not be far off. And my salvation will not abide and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

¹¹ We all roar like bears and moan greatly like doves. We look for justice, but there is none, for salvation, but it is far off from us.

⁴⁶ Now around the ninth hour

⁴⁴ And having become in agony, he was praying more intensely, and his sweat became like thick drops of blood going down upon the soil.

⁴⁴ Now he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, being still together with you, that it is essential for all things to be fulfilled, which have been written in the Law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms, concerning me.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, has offered up both prayers and supplications with a strong outcry and tears to the one who was able to save him from death and having been heard from his piety.

⁵ In the manner of life, not being a money-lover, be content with the things which are present; for he himself has said, I may never be lax concerning you, nor should I ever forsake you.
