¹⁶ For as yet he was come on none of them: But they were baptised only in the name of Christ Jesus.

Then answered Peter, ⁴⁷ "Can any man forbid water that these should not be baptised, which have received the holy ghost as well as we?" ⁴⁸ And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him, to tarry a few days.

¹⁵ And as I began to preach, the holy ghost fell on them, as he did on us at the beginning. ¹⁶ Then came to my remembrance the words of the Lord, how he said, 'John baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the holy ghost.' ¹⁷ Forasmuch then as God gave them like gifts, as he did unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ: what was I that I should have withstood God?"

² and said unto them, "Have ye received the holy ghost since ye believed?" And they said unto him, "No. We have not heard whether there be any holy ghost or no."

⁵ When they heard that, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And Paul laid his hands upon them: and the holy ghost came on them, and they spake with tongues and prophesied;

¹³ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Either were ye baptised in the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I thank God that I baptised none of you, but Crispus and Gaius, ¹⁵ lest any should say that I in mine own name had baptised.

²⁷ For all ye that are baptised, have put on Christ.
