Luke 5 Cross References - MSTC

1 It came to pass as the people pressed upon him, to hear the word of God, that he stood by the lake of Gennesaret: 2 and saw two ships stand by the lakeside, but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which pertained to Simon, and prayed him, that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people out of the ship. 4 When he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, "Launch out into the deep, and let slip your nets to make a draught." 5 And Simon answered, and said to him, "Master, we have laboured all night, and have taken nothing. Neverthelater, at thy word I will loose forth the net." 6 And when they had so done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes. And their net brake: 7 but they made signs to their fellows which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and they filled both the ships, that they sunk again. 8 When Simon Peter saw that, he fell down at Jesus' knees saying, "Lord go from me, for I am a sinful man." 9 For he was utterly astonished, and all that were with him at the draught of fish which they took: 10 and so was also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, "Fear not, from henceforth thou shalt catch men." 11 And they brought the ships to land, and forsook all, and followed him. 12 And it fortuned as he was in a certain city, behold, there was a man full of leprosy: and when he had spied Jesus, he fell on his face and besought him saying, "Lord if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean." 13 And he stretched forth the hand, and touched him, saying, "I will, be thou clean." And immediately the leprosy departed from him. 14 And he warned him, that he should tell no man: but that he should go and show himself to the priest, and offer for his cleansing according as Moses commandment was, for a witness unto them. 15 But his fame spread so much the more abroad, and much people came together to hear, and to be healed of him, of their infirmities. 16 And he kept himself apart in the wildernesses, and gave himself to prayer. 17 And it happened on a certain day, that he taught: and there sat the Pharisees, and doctors of law, which were come out of all the towns of Galilee, Jewry, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was to heal them. 18 And behold, men brought a man lying in his bed, which was taken with a palsy, and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the press, they went up on the top of the house, and let him down through the tiling, bed and all, in the midst before Jesus. 20 When he saw their faith he said unto him, "Man, thy sins are forgiven thee." 21 And the scribes, and the Pharisees, began to think saying, "What fellow is this: which speaketh blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, but God only?" 22 When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered and said unto them, "What think ye in your hearts? 23 Whether is easier to say: 'Thy sins are forgiven thee?' Or to say: 'Rise and walk?' 24 But that ye may know that the son of man hath power to forgive sins on earth," he said unto the sick of the palsy, "I say to thee, arise, take up thy bed and go home to thy house." 25 And immediately he rose up before them all, and took up his bed whereon he lay, and departed to his own house praising God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they lauded God, and were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today." 27 And after that, he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, "Follow me." 28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him. 29 And that same Levi made him a great feast at home in his own house. And there was a great company of publicans, and of others that sat at meat with him. 30 And the scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why eat ye and drink ye, with publicans and sinners?" 31 Jesus answered and said unto them, "They that are whole, need not of the physician: but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous: but the sinners to repentance." 33 Then they said unto him, "Why do the disciples of John fast often and pray: and the disciples of the Pharisees also: and thine eat and drink?" 34 And he said unto them, "Can ye make the Children of the wedding fast, as long as the bridegroom is present with them? 35 The days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them: then shall they fast in those days." 36 Then he spake unto them in a similitude, "No man putteth a piece of a new garment, into an old vesture: for if he do, then breaketh he the new: and the piece that was taken out of the new, agreeth not with the old. 37 Also no man poureth new wine into old vessels: for if he do, the new wine breaketh the vessels, and runneth out itself, and the vessels perish: 38 But new wine must be poured into new vessels, and both are preserved. 39 Also no man that drinketh old wine, straightway can away with new, for he sayeth: the old is pleasanter."

If the hair in the sore be turned unto white, and the sore also seem to be lower than the skin of his flesh, then it is surely a leprosy, and let the priest look on him and make him unclean. 4 If there be but a white pleck in the skin of his flesh, and seem not to be lower than the other skin nor the hair thereof is turned unto white: then let the priest shut him up seven days. 5 And let the priest look upon him the seventh day: if the sore seem to him to abide still and to go no further in the skin, then let the priest shut him up yet seven days more. 6 And let the priest look on him again the seventh day. Then if the sore be waxed blackish, and is not grown abroad in the skin, let the priest make him clean, for it is but a scurf. And let him wash his clothes, and then he is clean. 7 But and if the scab grow in the skin after that he is seen of the priest again. 8 If the priest see that the scab be grown abroad in the skin, let him make him unclean: for it is surely a leprosy. 9 "If the plague of leprosy be in a man, let him be brought unto the priest, 10 and let the priest see him. If the rising appear white in the skin, and have also made the hair white, and there be raw flesh in the sore also: 11 then it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh. And the priest shall make him unclean, and shall not shut him up for he is unclean. 12 If a leprosy break out in the skin and cover all the skin from the head to the foot, over all wheresoever the priest looketh, 13 then let the priest look upon him. If the leprosy have covered all his flesh, let him judge the disease clean: for inasmuch as he is altogether white he is, therefore, clean. 14 But and if there be raw flesh on him when he is seen, then he shall be unclean.

Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house. 11 So shall the king have pleasure in thy beauty; for he is thy LORD, and thou shalt worship him. 12 The daughters of Tyre shall be there with gifts, the rich among the people shall make their supplication before thee. 13 The king's daughter is all glorious within, her clothing is of wrought gold. 14 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework; the virgins that be her fellows shall bear her company, and shall be brought unto thee. 15 With joy and gladness shall they be brought, and shall enter into the king's palace. 16 Instead of thy fathers thou shalt have children, whom thou mayest make princes in all lands.

And they said unto him, "Of Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet, mighty in deed and word, before God and all the people. 20 And how the high priests, and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death: and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted, that it should have been he that should have delivered Israel. We cannot tell what he saith." 19 Jesus perceived that they would ask him, and said unto them, "This is it that ye enquire of between yourselves, that I said, 'After a while ye shall not see me, and again after a while ye shall see me.' 20 Verily, verily I say unto you, Ye shall weep and lament, and the world shall rejoice. Ye shall sorrow: but your sorrow shall be turned to joy. 21 A woman when she travaileth hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. 22 And ye now are in sorrow: but I will see you again, and your hearts shall rejoice, and your joy shall no man take from you.

Galatians 2:12-14

12 For yer that certain came from James, he ate with the gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision, 13 and the other Jews dissembled likewise; Insomuch that Barnabas was brought into their simulation also. 14 But when I saw that they went not the right way after the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter, before all men, "If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of the gentiles, and not as do the Jews: why causest thou the gentiles to live as do the Jews?"

Galatians 4:9-11

9 But now, seeing ye know God — yea rather are known of God — how is it that ye turn again unto the weak and beggarly ceremonies, whereunto again ye desire afresh to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe the days, and months, and times, and years. 11 I am in fear of you, lest I have bestowed on you labour in vain.

Galatians 5:1-6

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and wrap not yourselves again in the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing at all. 3 I testify again to every man which is circumcised that he is bound to keep the whole law. 4 Ye are gone quite from Christ as many as are justified by the law, and are fallen from grace. 5 We look for, and hope in the spirit, to be justified through faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ, neither is circumcision anything worth, neither yet uncircumcision: but faith, which by love is mighty in operation.

Galatians 6:13-14

13 For they themselves which are circumcised keep not the law: but desire to have you circumcised that they might rejoice in your flesh. 14 God forbid that I should rejoice but in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, whereby the world is crucified as touching me, and I as concerning the world.

Philippians 3:5-7

5 circumcised the eighth day, of the kindred of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew born of the Hebrews; as concerning the law, a Pharisee, 6 and as concerning ferventness I persecuted the congregation, and as touching the righteousness which is in the law, I was unrebukable. 7 But the things that were vantage unto me I counted loss for Christ's sake.

19 and holdeth not the head: whereof all the body by joints and couples receiveth nourishment, and is knit together, and increaseth with the increasing that cometh of God. 20 Wherefore, if ye be dead with Christ from ordinances of the world: Why as though ye yet lived in the world, are ye led with traditions of them that say 21 "Touch not; Taste not; Handle not:" 22 which all perish with the using of them, and are after the commandments, and doctrines of men: 23 which things have the similitude of wisdom in chosen holiness, and humbleness, and in that they spare not the body — and do the flesh no worship unto his need.

8 For in rebuking them he saith, "Behold the days will come, saith the Lord, and I will finish upon the house of Israel, and upon the house of Judah, a new testament; 9 not like the testament that I made with their fathers at that time, when I took them by the hands, to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they continued not in my testament, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the testament that I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws in their minds, and in their hearts, I will write them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 11 And they shall not teach, every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'know the Lord': For they shall know me, from the least to the most of them. 12 For I will be merciful over their unrighteousness, and on their sins and on their iniquities." 13 In that he saith a new testament, he hath abrogated the old. Now that which is disannulled and waxed old, is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 13:9-10

9 Be not carried about with divers and strange learning. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, and not with meats, which have not profited them that have had their pastime in them. 10 We have an altar whereof they may not eat, which serve in the tabernacle.

Mark 7:7-13

7 In vain they worship me, teaching doctrines which are nothing but the commandments of men, 8 for ye lay the commandment of God apart, and ye observe the traditions of men as the washing of cruses and of cups, and many other such like things ye do." 9 And he said unto them, "Well, ye cast aside the commandment of God, to maintain your own traditions. 10 For Moses said, 'Honour thy father and thy mother,' and, 'Whosoever curseth father or mother, let him die for it.' 11 But ye say, 'A man shall say to his father or mother, Corban; which is, that thou desirest of me, to help thee with, is given to God.' 12 And so ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother, 13 making the word of God of none effect through your own traditions which ye have ordained. And many such things ye do."

11 And he received the sign of circumcision, as a seal of the righteousness which is by faith: which faith he had, yet being uncircumcised, that he should be the father of all them that believe: though they be not circumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also; 12 And that he might be the father of the circumcised: not because they are circumcised only: but because they walk also in the steps of that faith, that was in our father Abraham before the time of circumcision.
