¹ The Lorde God shewed me such a vysyon: beholde, there stode one that made gresshoppers, euen when the corne was shuting forth, after the kinge had clypte hys shepe.

¹² And the Lord sayd vnto Moses: Stretch out thyne hande ouer the Lande of Egypte, for greshoppers, that they come vppon the Land of Egypt and eat all the herbes of the lande, and al that the hayle lefte vntouched. ¹³ And Moses stretched forth his rod ouer the Lande of Egypt, and the Lorde brought an east wynd vpon the Land, all that daye and all nyghte. And in the mornynge the Easte wynde brought the Greshoppers, ¹⁴ and the greshoppers wente vp ouer all the Land of Egypt and lyghted in all quarters of Egypte verye greuouslye: so that before theym were there no suche greshoppers, neither after them shal be. ¹⁵ And they couered all the face of the earth, so that the land was darke therwyth. And they ate all the herbes of the land and all the fruites of the trees whyche the haile had left: so that there was no grene thynge left in the trees & herbes of the felde, thorow all the land of Egypte. ¹⁶ Then Pharao, called for Moses & Aaron in haste & sayed: I haue synned agaynste the Lord your God and against you.

⁴ and that theyr spoyle maye be gathered, as the gresshoppers are comonly gathered together into the pyt.

¹¹ After thys, the Lorde spake vnto me sayinge: Ieremy, what seyst thou? And I sayde: I se a wakinge roade. ¹² Then sayde the Lord: thou hast sene ryght, for I will watch diligentlye vpon my worde, to perfourme it. ¹³ It happened afterwarde, that the Lorde spake to me againe, and sayde: What seyst thou? And I sayd: I do se a seethinge pot, lokinge from oute of the North hytherward. ¹⁴ Then saide the Lorde vnto me: Oute of the Northe shall come a plage vpon all the dwellers of the lande. ¹⁵ For lo, I wil cal all the officers of the kingdomes of the north (saieth the Lorde.) And they shall come, and euery one shall set the seate in the gates of Ierusalem, and in al their walles round aboute and thorowe al the cytyes of Iuda. ¹⁶ And thorowe them shall I declare my iudgement, vpon all the wyckednesse of those men that haue forsaken me: that haue offered vnto straunge Goddes, and worshipped the workes of their owne handes.

¹ The Lorde shewed me a vysion: Beholde, there stode two maundes of fygges before the temple of the Lord, after that Nabuchodonosor kynge of Babylon had led awaye captyue Iechoniah the sonne of Iehoakim kynge of Iuda, the mightie men also of Iuda, with the worckmaysters, and connynge men of Ierusalem, vnto Babylon.

²⁵ So I spake vnto the presoners, all the wordes of the Lorde, whiche he had shewed me.

⁴ Loke what the caterpyller hath lefte, that hath the greshopper eaten vp: what the greshopper lefte, that hath the locuste eaten vp: & what the locuste hath lefte, that hath the blastyng consumed.

²⁵ And as for the yeares that the greshopper, locuste, blastynge, & caterpyller (my greate hoste, whiche I sente amonge you) haue eaten vp, I shal restore them to you agayne,

⁹ I haue smiten you with drouth & blasting: and loke howe manye orchardes, vineyardes, fyggetrees & olyue trees ye had: the caterpyller hath eaten them vp. But yet wil ye not turne vnto me, sayeth the Lorde.

⁴ Agayne the Lorde shewed me thys vysyon: beholde, the Lorde God called the fyre to punish withal, and it deuoured the greate depe: yea it consumed a parte already.

⁷ Moreouer, he shewed me thys vysyon: beholde, the Lorde stode vpon a plastered wall, and a masons trowel in hys lande.

¹ The Lorde God shewed me this vysyon: and beholde, there was a maunde wyth somer fruyte.

¹⁵ yet the fyre shall consume the, the swerde shall destroye the, yea, as the locuste doeth, so shal it eate the vp. It shal fal heuely vpon the as the locustes, yea, right heuely shal it fal vpon the, euen as the greshoppers. ¹⁶ Thy marchauntes haue ben nombred with the starres of heauen: but nowe shal they sprede abroad as the locustes, and fle theyr waye. ¹⁷ Thy Lordes are as the greshoppers, & thy captaynes as the multytude of greshoppers: which when they be colde, remayne in the hedges: but when the Sunne is vp, they fle awaye, and no man can tel where they are become:

²⁰ And the Lorde shewed me .iiij. carpenters.
