¹⁸ For he is euen the same, that knoweth the rebellyous kynges, and sayth to Princes:

²⁸ Thou shalt not rayle vpon the goddes, nether cursse the ruler of thy people.

²⁶ To punish the innocent, and to smite the princes that geue true iudgmente, are both euell.

³ Then sayde Paul to hym: God smite the thou paynted wall. Sittest thou and iudgest me after the lawe, and commaundest me to be smyten contrarye to the lawe?

⁵ Then sayde Paule: I wyste not brethren that he was the hye priest. For it is writen: thou shalt not cursse the ruler of thy people.

⁷ Geue to euerye man therfore hys dutye: Tribute to whom trybute belongeth: Custome to whom custome is due: feare to whome feare belongeth: Honoure to whom honoure pertayneth.

¹⁷ Honoure all men. Loue brotherlye felowship. Feare God, and honour the kynge.

¹⁰ namely them that walke after the fleshe in the luste of vncleanes, and despyse the rulars. Presumpteous are they, & stubborne and feare not to speake euyl of them that are in authoritie.
