¹⁶ And the ten hornes, which thou sawest vpon the beast, are they that shal hate the whore, & shal make her desolate and naked, and shal eate her flesh and burne her wyth fyre.

⁹ If a preastes daughter fall to playe the whore, she poluteth her father: therfore she shal be burnt wyth fyre.

³¹ Yet they of mine owne housholde saye: who shall let vs to haue oure belly full of hys fleshe?

² Therfore when the wycked, euen myne enemies and my foes, came vpon me, to eate vp my flesh, stombled and fell.

¹⁷ For lo, I shall brynge vp the Medes agaynst them, whiche shall not regarde siluer, nor be desyrous of gould. ¹⁸ Then shall young mens bowes be knapped a sunder. The Medes shall haue no pytye vpon wemen with chylde, and their faces shal not spare the chyldren.

⁴¹ Beholde, there shall come a people from the North, with a greate bounde of men and many Kynges shall stande vp from the endes of the earth: ⁴² They beare bowes & buclers, cruel are they and vnmercyfull. Their voyce roareth lyke the ragyng sea, they ryde vpon horses, & come weapened to fyght agaynst the O Babylon.

³⁷ Beholde therfore, I wyll gather together all thy louers, vnto whome thou hast made thy selfe comen: yea and all them whom thou fauourest, and euery one that thou hatest: and wil discouer thy shame before them, that they al maye se thy fylthines. ³⁸ Moreouer, I will iudge the as a breaker of wedlocke and a murtherer, & recompence the thyne owne bloud in wrath and gelousy. ³⁹ I will geue the ouer into their power, that shal breake doune thy stewes, and destroye thy brodel houses, they shall stryppe the oute of thy clothes, al thy fayre and beutyfull Iewels shall they take from the, and so let the syt naked and bare: ⁴⁰ yea they shal bryng the comen people vpon the, whiche shall stone the, and slaye the doune with their sweardes. ⁴¹ They shall burne vp thy houses, & punish the in the syght of manye wemen. Thus wyll I make thy whordome to ceasse, so that thou shalt geue out no mo rewardes. ⁴² Shoulde I make my wrath to be styl, take my gelousy from the, be content, and no more to be displeased? ⁴³ seynge thou remembrest not the dayes of thy youth, but haste prouoked me to wrath in all these thinges? Behold therfore, I wyll brynge thyne owne wayes vpon thyne heade, sayeth the Lorde God: howe be it, I neuer dyd vnto the, accordynge to thy wyckednesse and all thy abhominacions. ⁴⁴ Beholde, al they that vse comen prouerbes, shall vse this prouerbe also against the: suche a mother, suche a doughter.

⁴⁵ O ye all that loue vertu & ryghteousnes, iudge them, punish them, as aduoutrers and murtherers ought to be iudged & punished. For they are breakers of wedlocke, and the bloude is in their handes. ⁴⁶ Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: bringe a great multitude of people vpon them, & make them be scatred and spoyled: ⁴⁷ these shall stone them, & gore them with their swerdes. They shall slaye their sonnes and doughters and burne vp their houses with fyre. ⁴⁸ Thus will I destroye all such filthynes out of the land: that al wemen may learne, not to do after your vnclennesse. ⁴⁹ And so they shal lay your filthinesse vpon your owne selues, & ye shalbe punished for the sinnes, that ye haue committed with your Idols, & ye shall know that I am the Lorde.

⁵ Beholde, the seconde beaste was lyke a beer & stode vpon the one syde. Amonge his teeth in his mouth he had .iij. greate longe teeth, & it was sayde vnto him: Aryse: eate vp, much fleshe.

¹² And the .vi. aungel poured out hys vyall vpon the great riuer Euphrates, & the water dried vp that the wayes of the kynges of the este should be prepared.

¹ And there came one of the seuen angelles, which had the seuen vialls, and talked with me, saiynge vnto me, come I wil shew the, the iudgement of the great whore that sytteth vpon manye waters, ² wt whom haue committed fornicacion the kinges of the earth so that the inhabiters of the earth, are drounken wyth the wyne of her fornicacion.

¹⁰ they are also .vij. kynges. Fyue are fallen, and one is, and another is not yet come. When he commeth he muste continue a space.

¹² And the .x. hornes, which thou seest, are .x. kinges, which haue receiued no kingdom, but shal receiue power as kynges at one hour with the beast. ¹³ These haue one minde, & shal geue their power & strength vnto the beast.

⁸ Therfore shal her plages come at one daye, death, and sorowe, and honger, and she shalbe brente wyth fyre, for stronge is the Lorde God, whiche iudgeth her.

¹⁶ & saying: alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in raines, & purple, and scarlet, & decked wt gold, & precious stones, & pearles, ¹⁷ for at one hour so great riches is come to nought. And euery shyp gouerner, & al they that occupied shippes, & shipmen which worke in the sea, stode a farre of

¹⁹ And they cast duste on their heades, & cried weping, & wailing, & said: Alas, alas the greate citye wherin were made riche al that had shippes in the sea, by the reason of her costlines, for at one houre is she made desolate.

¹⁸ that ye may eate the flesh of kinges, & of hye captaynes, & the fleshe of myghty men, and the flesh of horsses, & of them that sit on them, & the flesh of all free men & bonde men, & of small & great.
