⁶ He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²¹ From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

²² While they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men, ²³ and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up." They were exceedingly sorry.

¹⁸ "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, ¹⁹ and will hand him over to the non-Jews to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up."

⁶³ saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'

⁶ He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where he was lying.

⁹ As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. ¹⁰ They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the "rising from the dead" meant.

³⁰ They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He did not want anyone to know it. ³¹ For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he will rise again." ³² But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ "Look, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to foreigners. ³⁴ They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. After three days he will rise again."
