¹ Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, drew near.

² You know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man will be delivered up to be crucified. ³ Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ And conspired to take Jesus by stealth, and kill him. ⁵ But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

¹² On the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover lamb, his disciples said to him, Where do you want us to go and prepare the passover for you to eat?

⁵⁵ And the Jewish passover was near at hand: and many from the country went up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves. ⁵⁶ They sought for Jesus, and spoke among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What do you think, that he will not come to the feast? ⁵⁷ Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he was, he should report it, that they might seize him.

⁷ Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you really are unleavened. For Christ our passover has been sacrificed for us: ⁸ Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
