¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities.

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of infirmity among the people.

²⁸ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching:

³⁵ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

³⁸ And he said to them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for that is why I have come. ³⁹ And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, and was praised by all. ¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. ¹⁷ And there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, ¹⁹ To preach the year of the Lord's favour. ²⁰ And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the attendant, and sat down. And the eyes of all those who were in the synagogue were fastened upon him. ²¹ And he said to them, Today is this scripture fulfilled in your hearing.

¹ And it came to pass soon after, that he went through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the glad news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,

¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

¹⁴ You are my friends, if you do what I command you.

² Until the day he was taken up, after he had, through the Holy Spirit, given commands to the apostles whom he had chosen.

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: how he went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

⁴² And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and dead.

² For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

⁶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who is idle and does not walk according to the tradition which you received from us.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: if any will not work, neither shall he eat.

¹⁴ That you keep the commandment without spot, free of reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
