Matthew 16 Cross References - RKJNT

1 The Pharisees and the Sadducees came, and testing him, asked that he would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, When it is evening, you say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and threatening. O you hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky; but can you not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall be no sign given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed. 5 When they came to the other side of the lake, his disciples found they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said to them, Take heed, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 7 And they discussed among themselves, saying, It is because we brought no bread. 8 When Jesus perceived this, he said to them, O you of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have brought no bread? 9 Do you not yet understand; do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up? 10 Or the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up? 11 How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread, but that you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12 Then they understood that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 13 When Jesus came to the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is? 14 And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. 15 He said to them, But who do you say that I am? 16 Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah: for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then he charged his disciples that they should tell no man that he was the Christ. 21 From that time forth Jesus began to show to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, God forbid it, Lord: this shall not happen to you. 23 But he turned, and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan: you are an offence to me: for you are not thinking of the things of God, but of the things of men. 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it: and whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what does it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Truly I say to you, There are some standing here, who shall not taste of death, until they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore, being exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens: but he himself says, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand, 35 Until I make your foes a footstool for your feet. 36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Acts 2:36

36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked to the heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you, and for your children, and for all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.

Acts 10:38-43

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: how he went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem. And they killed him by hanging him on a tree: 40 But God raised him up on the third day, and showed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that through his name whoever believes in him shall receive forgiveness of sins.

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 Now the mind set on the flesh is death; but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace. 7 Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile to God: for it is not subject to the law of God, indeed it cannot be. 8 So then those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:33-39

33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is there to condemn? It is Christ who died, yes, and more than that, who was raised again, who is at the right hand of God, and who also intercedes for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep for the slaughter. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 So then, every one of us shall give an account of himself to God. 13 Therefore, let us not judge one another any more: but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle in a brother's way.

Romans 14:21

21 It is good not to eat meat, or to drink wine, or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

1 Corinthians 1:22

22 For Jews require a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom:

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him. 10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the thoughts of a man, except the spirit which is within the man? even so no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.

1 Corinthians 2:14-15

14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 He who is spiritual judges the worth of all things, yet he himself is judged by no man.

1 Corinthians 3:9-11

9 For we are labourers together with God: you are God's field, God's building. 10 According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds upon it. But let every man take heed how he builds upon it. 11 For no other foundation can man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 5:4-5

4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are gathered together, with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 Deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord Jesus. 6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Clean out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you really are unleavened. For Christ our passover has been sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Corinthians 8:8

8 But food does not commend us to God: if we eat, we are none the better; if we do not eat, we are none the worse.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance that which I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:50

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

1 Corinthians 15:55

55 O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?

2 Corinthians 2:10

10 But whom you forgive anything, I forgive also: for what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, was for your sakes in the presence of Christ;

2 Corinthians 3:3

3 And you show that you are letters of Christ delivered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.

2 Corinthians 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive what is due him for the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 6:16

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for we are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will live in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15

14 And no wonder; for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no surprise if his servants are also disguised as servants of righteousness; their end shall be according to their works.

Galatians 1:11-12

11 But I want you to know, brethren, that the gospel which I preached is not from man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came by revelation from Jesus Christ.

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood:

Galatians 5:9

9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Ephesians 1:17-18

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 That the eyes of your heart may be enlightened; so you may know what is the hope of his calling, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

18 May be able to comprehend, with all the saints, its breadth, and length, and height, and depth; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Ephesians 5:25-27

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her; 26 That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water through the word, 27 That he might present her to himself a glorious church, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that she should be holy and without blemish.

7 And to give rest to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 Taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 They shall be punished with eternal ruin and exclusion from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all those who believe, including you, because our testimony among you was believed.

Hebrews 1:2-5

2 Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. 3 He is the brightness of his glory, and the exact representation of his nature, upholding all things by the word of his power. When he had purged our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Having become as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. 5 For to which of the angels has he at any time said, You are my Son, this day I have begotten you? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Hebrews 2:9

Hebrews 2:14

14 Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he himself also partook of the same; that through death he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver those who through fear of death were all their lives subject to bondage. 16 For truly he does not help angels; but he helps the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, in all things he had to be made like his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 For since he himself has suffered in being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

Hebrews 3:3-4
