⁴² What do you think of the Christ? whose son is he? They said to him, The Son of David.

¹ The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

⁴ And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. ⁵ And they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it was written by the prophet, ⁶ And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a Governor, who shall rule my people Israel.

²⁷ And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out, and saying, Son of David, have mercy on us.

³³ Then those who were in the boat came and worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.

¹³ When Jesus came to the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is? ¹⁴ And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. ¹⁵ He said to them, But who do you say that I am? ¹⁶ Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. ¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah: for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed after, cried out, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

⁶⁹ And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; ⁷⁰ As he spoke by the mouths of his holy prophets, from long ago:

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe and have come to know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴² Has not the scripture said, That Christ comes from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, the village where David lived?

²⁸ And Thomas said to him, My Lord and my God.

²² And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who shall fulfill all my will. ²³ Of this man's descendants God, according to his promise, has raised up for Israel a Saviour, Jesus.

⁹ Therefore, God has highly exalted him, and given him the name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth; ¹¹ And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁷ But whatever things were gain to me, those I have counted as loss for Christ. ⁸ Furthermore, I count all things as loss compared to the excellency of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may win Christ, ⁹ And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, based on the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith: ¹⁰ That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming like him in his death; ¹¹ Here there is neither Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian or Scythian, slave or free: but Christ is all, and in all.

⁴ Coming to him as to a living stone, rejected by men, but chosen by God, and precious, ⁵ You also, as living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ For this is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a cornerstone, chosen and precious: and he who believes in him shall not be put to shame. ⁷ Therefore, to you who believe, he is precious: but to those who disbelieve, the stone which the builders rejected has become the very cornerstone,

¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And I heard every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be to him who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped .
