²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

²³ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which translated means, God with us.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

²⁴ Therefore, whoever hears these words of mine, and does them, will be like a wise man, who built his house upon a rock: ²⁵ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall: for it was founded upon a rock. ²⁶ And every one who hears these words of mine, and does not do them, is like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: ²⁷ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

³⁹ The enemy who sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. ⁴⁰ Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be at the end of this age.

⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and separate the wicked from among the just,

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?

²⁰ And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with accompanying signs.]

¹⁸ I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. ¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you shall see me: because I live, you also shall live. ²⁰ On that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. ²¹ He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

⁴² And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayer.

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul at night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not hold your peace: ¹⁰ For I am with you, and no man shall attack and hurt you: for I have many people in this city.

²⁰ How I kept back nothing that was profitable for you, but have taught you publicly, and from house to house, ²¹ Testifying both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, of repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁷ For I have not hesitated to declare to you all the counsel of God.

² Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things, and keep the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.

²³ For I have received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread:

³⁷ If any man thinks he is a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that what I write to you is a commandment of the Lord.

¹¹ And he gave some as apostles; and some as prophets; and some as evangelists; and some as pastors and teachers; ¹² For the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ: ¹³ Until we all attain the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: ¹⁴ That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming. ¹⁵ But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all things into him, who is the head, that is, Christ: ¹⁶ From whom the whole body, fitted and joined together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of every part, causes the body to grow, for the building up of itself in love. ¹⁷ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as other Gentiles walk, in the futility of their minds,

²⁰ But you did not learn Christ that way; ²¹ If indeed you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, ²² Then put off the old man, which belongs to your former life, which is corrupt through deceitful lusts; ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your minds; ²⁴ And put on the new man, who, in the likeness of God, is created in true righteousness and holiness. ²⁵ Therefore, putting away lying, let every man speak the truth with his neighbour: for we are members of one another. ²⁶ Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down upon your wrath: ²⁷ Give no opportunity to the devil. ²⁸ Let him who stole, steal no more: but rather let him labour, doing with his hands that which is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. ²⁹ Let no corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for edifying, that it may impart grace to the hearers. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and quarreling, and slander, be put away from you, along with all types of malice: ³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you.

²⁸ Him we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

¹ Furthermore, we urge you, brethren, and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you have learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, as indeed you are doing, so you would do more and more. ² For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

⁶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who is idle and does not walk according to the tradition which you received from us. ⁷ For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we were not idle among you; ⁸ Nor did we eat any man's bread without paying; but with labour and toil we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you: ⁹ Not because we do not have the right, but to make ourselves an example for you to follow. ¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave you this command: if any will not work, neither shall he eat. ¹¹ For we hear that there are some among you who walk in idleness, not working at all, mere busybodies. ¹² Now those who are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work quietly, and eat their own bread.

¹ Let as many as are under the yoke of slavery count their masters as worthy of all honour, that the name of God and our teaching may be not defamed. ² And those who have believing masters must not despise them because they are brethren; but rather service them all the more, because those who partake of their services are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things. ³ If any man teaches otherwise, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching which accords with godliness; ⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but has an unhealthy craving for controversy and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions,

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

¹ But as for you, speak the things which befit sound doctrine. ² Urge the older men to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in steadfastness. ³ Urge the older women likewise, to be reverent in behaviour, not malicious gossips, not slaves to much wine, but teaching good things; ⁴ That they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, ⁵ To be sensible, chaste, workers at home, kind, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be maligned. ⁶ Likewise, urge the young men to be self-controlled. ⁷ In all things show yourself to be an example of good works, and in your teaching show purity, dignity, ⁸ And sound speech, which cannot be condemned; so that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us. ⁹ Urge servants to be obedient to their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not to talk back, ¹⁰ Not to pilfer, but showing entire and true fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁰ In times past you were not a people, but now you are the people of God: once you had not obtained mercy, but now you have obtained mercy. ¹¹ Dearly beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers, abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul. ¹² Conduct yourselves righteously among the Gentiles: that, though they speak against you as evildoers, they may behold your good works and glorify God on the day of visitation. ¹³ Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme authority; ¹⁴ Or to governors, as to those who are sent by him to punish evildoers, and to praise those who do well. ¹⁵ For this is the will of God, that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men: ¹⁶ Live as free men, not using your liberty as a cloak for evil, but live as the servants of God. ¹⁷ Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. ¹⁸ Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse. ¹⁹ For this is commendable, if for the sake of conscience toward God, a man endures sorrow while suffering wrongfully.

⁵ For this very reason, give all diligence to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are in you, and are increasing, they keep you from being either ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he who lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. ¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall: ¹¹ For in this way an entrance shall be abundantly provided for you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

² That you may recall the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Saviour given through your apostles:

³ And by this we may be sure that we know him, if we keep his commandments. ⁴ He who says, I know him, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

¹⁹ And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him, ²⁰ Whenever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God; ²² And whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. ²³ And this is his commandment, That we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he commanded us. ²⁴ And he who keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

¹⁸ The one who lives; I was dead, and, behold, I am alive forevermore, and possess the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

²⁰ He who testifies to these things says, Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. ²¹ The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all. Amen.
