¹⁰ And those who live upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts to one another; because these two prophets tormented those who dwell upon the earth.

²² And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved.

⁷ The world cannot hate you; but me it hates, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, You shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

³³ When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and wanted to kill them.

⁶ It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth;

¹⁰ Because you have kept my word to patiently endure, I will keep you from the hour of trial, which shall come upon all the world, to test those who live upon the earth.

⁵ And if any man wants to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouths, and devours their enemies: and if any man wants to harm them, he must in this manner be killed. ⁶ These two have power to shut up the sky, so that it does not rain during the days of their prophesying: and have power over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all manner of plagues, as often as they desire.
