³ And when those of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt: I am the LORD.

⁷ All those who serve graven images are confounded, that boast themselves of idols: Worship Him, all you gods.

¹ The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

²⁰ He who is so impoverished that he has no oblation chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks for himself a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

⁷ So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he who smoothes with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, "It is ready for the soldering": And he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

¹⁷ And the residue of it he makes into a god, even his graven image: He falls down to it, and worships it, and prays to it, and said, "Deliver me; for you are my god." ¹⁸ They have not known nor understood: For He has shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand. ¹⁹ And none considers in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, "I have burned part of it in the fire; yes, also I have baked bread on the coals of it; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: And I shall make the residue of it an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?" ²⁰ He feeds on ashes: A deceived heart has turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, "Is there not a lie in my right hand?"

¹ Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols were on the beasts, and on the domestic beasts: Your carriages were heavy laden; they are a burden to the weary beast. ² They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but have themselves gone into captivity.

⁷ They bear him on the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he stands; from his place he shall not move: Yes, one shall cry to him, yet he cannot answer, nor save him out of his trouble.

⁸ But they are altogether brutish and foolish: The wooden idol is a doctrine of vanities.

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

¹¹ And unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him, and cried out, saying, "You are the Son of God."

¹⁸ And He said to them, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. ¹⁹ Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: And nothing shall by any means hurt you. ²⁰ Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

¹⁴ Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers: For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he that believes with an infidel? ¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said: "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
