⁷ He who instructeth the wicked shall receive for himself dishonour; and he who reproveth ⁸ the ungodly will blemish himself. Rebuke not the wicked, lest they hate thee; rebuke a wise man and he will love thee. ⁹ Give a wise man a hint and he will be wiser; an intimation to a righteous man and he will proceed to take it.

¹² An uninstructed man will not love them who reprove him, nor will he associate with the wise.

¹ Hold consultation; exalt vain comfort. Ah city Ariel, against which David fought! collect provisions year after year; eat; for you shall eat with Moab;

¹¹ And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet, who is of Nazareth in Galilee.

²⁶ and if we say, Of men, we fear the people; for they all hold John as a prophet.
