He and Balaam offered a bull and a ram on each altar. ³ And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering and I will go. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet me and whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height. ⁴ And God met Balaam. And he said to Him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon the altar a bull and a ram. ⁵ And the LORD put a saying in Balaam's mouth, and said, "Go again to Balak and say on this wise." ⁶ He went back to Balak and found him standing beside his burnt offering with all the princes of Moab. ⁷ Balaam delivered this message: "Balak brought me from Aram. The king of Moab summoned me from the eastern mountains. Come and curse Jacob for me," he said. 'Come and condemn Israel. ⁸ "'How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the LORD has not condemned? ⁹ Because from the top of the rocks I see him, from hilltops I watch him. Behold, a people who dwell alone, they do not consider themselves among the nations. ¹⁰ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! ¹¹ Balak responded to Balaam: "What have you done to me? I brought you here to curse my enemies, but all you have done is bless them!" ¹² He answered and said, "Should I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?" ¹³ Balak said: "Please come with me to another place, where you can see the Israelites. You will see only some of them, not all of them. Curse them for me from there." ¹⁴ So he took him to the field of Zophim to the top of Pisgah, and he built seven altars, and he offered a bull and a ram on each altar. ¹⁵ Then Balaam said to Balak: "Stay here beside your burnt offering while I meet with God over there." ¹⁶ The LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, "Return to Balak, and say this." ¹⁷ So he returned and found Balak still standing by his burnt offering. He was with the leaders of Moab. Balak asked what the LORD said. ¹⁸ Then he uttered his oracle, and said, "Stand up, Balak, and hear; listen to me, son of Zippor! ¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? ²⁰ Look, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I can't reverse it. ²¹ He has not seen iniquity in Jacob, neither has He seen perverseness in Israel. the LORD his God is with him, the shout of a king is among them. ²² God brought them out of Egypt; he has as it were the strength of a wild ox. ²³ For there is not a spell against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. Now it is said of Jacob and Israel, See what God has done! ²⁴ Look! the people will rise like the lion; he raises himself and will not lie down until he eats the prey and drinks the blood of the slain." ²⁵ And Balak said to Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all. ²⁶ Balaam answered: "Did I not tell you that I must do everything the LORD tells me?" ²⁷ And Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there. ²⁸ So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, looking down over the waste land. ²⁹ Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.” ³⁰ Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.

²⁴ 'You shall make an altar of earth for me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep, and your cattle. Everywhere I cause my name to be remembered, I'll come to you and bless you.

¹ And make an altar of hard wood, a square altar, five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high. ² "Place a horn at each of its four corners. The four horns and the altar must be made out of one piece of wood covered with copper. ³ "Make all the utensils for it out of copper: pots for taking away the altar’s ashes, also shovels, bowls, forks, and incense burners. ⁴ "Make a grate for it out of copper mesh. Make a copper ring for each of the four corners of the grate. ⁵ "Place the grate under the ledge of the altar so that it comes halfway up the altar. ⁶ "Prepare poles out of acacia wood for the altar. Cover them with copper. ⁷ The poles for it shall be put through the rings, so the poles will be on the two sides of the altar when it's carried. ⁸ "Make the altar out of boards so that it is hollow inside. It must be made just as you were shown on the mountain.

²⁹ Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.”

³² “'On the seventh day: seven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old without defect;

²² And Samuel said, Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To listen is better than the fat of rams!

²² And if ye say to me, We rely upon the LORD our God: is it not he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?

²⁶ As God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.

²¹ They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

⁸ "So now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and sacrifice a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not deal with you according to your folly. You did not speak correctly about me, as my servant Job has."

⁸ I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me. ⁹ I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.

⁸ The LORD abhorreth the sacrifice of the ungodly; but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable to him.

¹¹ What is the abundance of your sacrifices to me? says the LORD. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened animals and I do not delight in the blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats. ¹² When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts? ¹³ Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can't bear with evil assemblies. ¹⁴ Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth; they are become a burden unto me; I am weary to bear them, ¹⁵ "When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are full of blood.

³¹ And they come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words. But they will not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

²³ And in the feast of the seven days he shall offer every day a bullock and a ram, that are without blemish, for a burnt offering unto the LORD: and a he goat daily for a sin offering.

¹³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.

¹¹ Woe to them! They have traveled the path of Cain; they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam; they have perished in Korah’s rebellion.

¹⁴ So he took him to the field of Zophim to the top of Pisgah, and he built seven altars, and he offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

³⁰ Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.

²⁰ Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

² He said, “Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

⁷ Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, "My father?" He said, "Here I am, my son." He said, "Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" ⁸ And Abraham said, "God will provide the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went together.

¹³ Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in the bushes. So he took the ram and sacrificed it in place of his son.

¹² And Jethro, Moses` father-in-law, took a burnt-offering and sacrifices for God; and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses` father-in-law in the presence of God.

¹ the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,

⁸ "Spend the night here," Balaam said to them, "and I will report to you what the LORD tells me." So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam. ⁹ God came to Balaam and asked: "Who are these men with you?"

³¹ And the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the Angel of the LORD standing in the road with His sword drawn in His hand. And he bowed and fell on his face. ³² The angel of the LORD said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Look, I have come forth as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me: ³³ The donkey saw me and turned aside from me these three times. If she had not turned aside from my face, then I would have killed you and kept her alive." ³⁴ Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, "I have sinned because I did not know that you were standing to meet me in the road. Now, if it is displeasing to you, I will turn back." ³⁵ The angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men, but speak only the word that I will speak to you." So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

¹⁵ Then Balaam said to Balak: "Stay here beside your burnt offering while I meet with God over there."

¹ And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not go, as at the other times, to meet with omens, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

⁹ God came to Balaam and asked: "Who are these men with you?"

²⁰ That night God came to Balaam and said: "If these men have come to summon you, go with them, but do only what I tell you."

¹ Balaam said to Balak, “Build here seven altars for me, and prepare here seven bulls and seven rams for me.”

¹⁶ The LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, "Return to Balak, and say this."

³ "'Why have we fasted and you do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and you do not notice? Behold, on the day of your fast you find desire, and mistreat all your workers.' ⁴ Look! You fast to quarrel and strife, and to strike with a wicked fist. You shall not fast as you do today, to make your voice heard on the height.

¹² ‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.’

¹² I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of all that I get.'

² They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.

²⁷ Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith.

⁹ not by works, so that no one can boast.

³⁵ The angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men, but speak only the word that I will speak to you." So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

¹⁸ I will raise them up a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put My words in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

¹ To mortals belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the answer of the tongue.

⁹ A man's heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps.

¹⁶ And I set my words in your mouth; and I covered you in the shadow of my hand to plant the heavens and to lay the foundations of the earth, and to say to Siyon, You are my people.

²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says the LORD: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says the LORD.

⁹ Then the LORD stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. the LORD said to me: »I have put my words in your mouth.

¹² for the holy Spirit will teach you at that hour what you should say."

⁵¹ He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

⁵ And he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor which is beside the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, Behold! A people has come out of Egypt. Behold! it has covered the face of the earth, and it is setting next to me. ⁶ Now, please go, curse this people for me because they are stronger than me; perhaps I will be able to strike them and drive them out from the land because I know whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you cursed is cursed."

¹¹ 'Behold, the people that has come out of Egypt covers the surface of the earth. Now, come curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.'”

¹⁷ because I will surely honor you greatly, and all that you say to me I will do. Please, come; curse this people for me.'"

¹⁸ Then he uttered his oracle, and said, "Stand up, Balak, and hear; listen to me, son of Zippor!

³ and he took up his parable, and said,—The oracle of Balaam, son of Beor, Yea the oracle of the man, of opened eye;

¹⁵ He began his discourse by saying: "The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor. The oracle of the man, whose eye is opened,

²¹ He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable and said, Your dwelling place is strong, your nest is set in the rock.

²³ And he took up his oracle, and said, Alas, who shall live when God does this!

⁴ Because they gave you no bread or water on your way, when you came out of Egypt: and they got Balaam, the son of Peor, from Pethor in Aram-naharaim to put curses on you.

¹⁰ The Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day! Give me a man and let us fight one another!

²⁵ The men of Israel said, Have you seen this man who keeps coming up? He comes up to defy Israel. The king has promised to give great riches to the man who kills him, and will give him his daughter and make his father's house free in Israel. ²⁶ David asked the men who were standing by him, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? Indeed, who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

³⁶ Your servant killed both the lion and the bear. And this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God.

⁴⁵ Then David said to the Philistine, You come against me with a sword, a spear and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of Armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

²¹ When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, killed him.

⁹ And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who were gathered there to battle; and the men of Israel had gone up;

¹ And Job continued his parable and said,

¹ Then Job continued with his discourse:

² I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter dark sayings of old,

² Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn’t come to rest.

² "Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;

⁴⁹ Then I said, "Ah, Sovereign LORD, they are saying about me, 'Is he not posing a parable?'"

⁴ In that day they will take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, saying, 'We are utterly ruined. My people's possession is divided up. Indeed he takes it from me and assigns our fields to traitors.'"

⁶ "Will not all of these ridicule him with mocking scorn? They will say, 'Woe to the one who hordes for himself what isn't his. How long will you enrich yourself by extortion?'

³³ He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”

³⁵ So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

¹² So they started looking for a way to arrest Him, because they knew He had spoken the parable against them, but they were in fear of the crowd. Then they left Him and went away.

¹² God said to Balaam, "You will not go with them; you will not curse the people, because they are blessed."

²⁰ Look, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I can't reverse it.

²³ For there is not a spell against Jacob, nor any divination against Israel. Now it is said of Jacob and Israel, See what God has done!

²⁵ who foils the omens of the empty talkers, and makes fools of diviners; who turns sages back, and makes their knowledge foolish;

¹² Stand now among your spells, and with your many sorceries, in which you have wearied yourself since your youth. Perhaps you will be able to profit; perhaps may cause quaking. ¹³ You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the knowers from the new moons, stand up and save you from the things that will come upon you.

⁵ ‘If you will obey me and are faithful to the terms of my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, for all the earth is mine. ⁶ but you, you will belong to me as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites."

¹⁶ For how is it known here that I and your people find charism in your eyes? Is it not in that you go with us? And we are distinguished, I and your people, from all the people on the face of the earth.

⁸ When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel.

²⁸ Israel shall dwell in safety alone, the fountain of Jacob in a land of grain and new wine. Yes, His heavens drop down dew.

² "They have taken their daughters as wives for themselves and for their sons. They have mingled the holy race with peoples around them. In fact the leaders and officials were first to do this evil."

⁸ Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, "There is a certain people scattered and divided among the people throughout the provinces of your kingdom. Their laws are different than all the other people, they don't obey the king's laws, and it's not in the king's best interest to leave them alone.

²⁸ "'Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob," declares the LORD. "I am with you. I will completely destroy all the nations where I scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will correct you with justice. I will not let you go entirely unpunished.'"

⁹ "Yes, look, I am going to command and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations like one who shakes with a sieve, but not a pebble will fall to the ground.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, ⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.” ¹⁰ Again, it says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”

¹⁷ Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.

¹² that at that time you were apart from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

¹⁶ "I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth. If anyone could count the dust, your offspring could be counted.

¹⁷ '"I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of their enemies' cities.

¹⁴ "Your descendants will be like the dust on the earth. You will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. Every family on earth will be blessed through you and through your descendants.

⁹ All those numbered by division in the camp of Judah are 186,400. They will be the first to travel.

¹⁶ All those numbered by division in the camp of Reuben are 151,450. They will be the second to travel.

²⁴ All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred and eight thousand one hundred: they with their forces shall set out third.

³¹ All those who are numbered by division in the camp of Dan are 157,600.They will be the last to travel under their standards.

³⁷ Observe the blameless, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

³² The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.

¹ The righteous perish, and no one lays it to heart. Merciful men are taken away, and no one considers that the righteous is taken away from the evil. ² His burial shall be in peace: he has been removed out of the way.

²⁹ “Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace. ³⁰ For my eyes have seen your salvation

²¹ So let no one boast in men; for all things .are yours: ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Kephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future-all things are yours!

⁵³ For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴ When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” ⁵⁵ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

¹ Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

²¹ For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ²² But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know. ²³ I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better indeed.

⁶ For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is near. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

¹³ I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body, ¹⁴ since I know that it will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. ¹⁵ And I will make every effort to ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.

¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them."

⁷ Balaam delivered this message: "Balak brought me from Aram. The king of Moab summoned me from the eastern mountains. Come and curse Jacob for me," he said. 'Come and condemn Israel. ⁸ "'How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the LORD has not condemned?

¹⁰ Balak's anger burned against Balaam. He struck his hands together and Balak said to Balaam: I called you to curse my enemies! But you have persisted in blessing them three times!

² because they did not meet the Israelites with bread and water; but hired Balaam against them to curse them; but our God turned the curse into a blessing.

¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears. ²⁰ May this be the way the LORD repays my accuser, those who speak evil against me.

³⁸ Balaam said to Balak, "Look, I came to you now. Am I really able to speak anything at all? I speak the word that God puts in my mouth."

²⁶ Balaam answered: "Did I not tell you that I must do everything the LORD tells me?"

¹³ 'If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of the LORD, to do either good or bad of my own mind. I will say what the LORD says?'

²⁵ When his speech is charming, do not believe him; for there are seven abominations in his heart.

¹⁸ For such as these are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their actions they disown Him; they are detestable, disobedient, and useless for anything good.

⁴¹ The next morning Balak took Balaam up to Bamoth Baal, from where Balaam could see a part of the people of Israel.

⁹ Then Balak, the son of Zippor, king of Moab, went up to war against Israel; and he sent for Balaam, the son of Beor, to put a curse on you:

²³ The servants of the king of Aram said to him, "Their gods are gods of the mountains, therefore they were stronger than we. Let us fight with them in the plain; surely we will be stronger than they.

²⁸ A man of God came to the king of Israel. He said: "the LORD says, 'Because the Aramaeans have said, "the LORD is a god of the hills and not of the valleys; I will give all this great army into your hands, and you will see that I am the LORD."'"

¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him.

⁵ My people, remember, I pray, what Balak, king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam, son of Beor, answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal, that you may know the righteousness of the LORD."

⁹ With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be!

²⁰ and from Bamoth in the valley in the field of Moab, to the top of Pisgah at the face of the desolation.

¹ Balaam said to Balak, “Build here seven altars for me, and prepare here seven bulls and seven rams for me.” ² Balak did as he was told. He and Balaam offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

²⁷ Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift your eyes toward the west, north, south, and east. Look with your own eyes, since you won't be able to cross this Jordan River.

⁴⁹ and all the Arabah east of the Jordan as far as the Dead Sea below the slopes of Pisgah.

¹ Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, opposite from Jericho. the LORD showed him all the land of Gilead to Dan,

¹⁰ Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom, listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah. ¹¹ What is the abundance of your sacrifices to me? says the LORD. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened animals and I do not delight in the blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats.

⁶ "Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales. They hire a goldsmith to make it into a god. They bow down and worship it.

¹¹ "The people of Gilead are evil. They are worthless. They sacrifice bulls in Gilgal. But their altars will become like piles of rubble beside a plowed field.

⁸ "Spend the night here," Balaam said to them, "and I will report to you what the LORD tells me." So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.

³ And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by your burnt offering and I will go. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet me and whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height.

⁵ And the LORD put a saying in Balaam's mouth, and said, "Go again to Balak and say on this wise."

¹⁷ He said, What was it that He said to you? Please don't hide it from me. May God deal with you severely if you hide anything from me of all the things that He said to you.

¹⁷ Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah, and the king asked him privately in the palace: "Is there any message from the LORD? Jeremiah answered: Yes! There is a message from the LORD. You will be handed over to the king of Babylon."

²⁰ Ehud approached him while he was sitting by himself in the cool roof chamber of his palace. He said, "I have a message from God for you!" So when Eglon got up from his seat,

²⁹ Moreover, the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind, for he's not a man that he should change his mind."

¹⁷ "If this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men, O LORD my God.

³⁵ Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; that I will not be false to David.

⁹ "I will not carry out my fierce anger. I will not turn and devastate Ephraim. I am not man. I am God, the Holy One among you. I will not come against my city in wrath.

²⁰ You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

³ For the vision is still for an appointed time, but it speaks to the end, and it does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry.

⁶ For I, the LORD, do not change. Therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

³³ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

²⁹ For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.

² Which rests in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the beginning of time;

¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged.

¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.

² "I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing.

¹⁸ Balaam answered Balak's servants: "Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not disobey the command of the LORD my God no matter whether the request was important or not.

¹³ Yea, from this day I am He, and no one delivers from My hand. I will work, and who will reverse it?

²⁷ My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me; ²⁸ I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁵ who through faith are protected by God’s power for the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

²¹ The LORD went in front of them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel both day and night.

⁴⁵ I'll dwell among the Israelites, and I'll be their God. ⁴⁶ They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of Egypt so I might dwell among them. I am the LORD your God."

¹⁴ He said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." ¹⁵ Then Moses said to the LORD, "If your presence does not go with us, don't bring us up from here. ¹⁶ For how is it known here that I and your people find charism in your eyes? Is it not in that you go with us? And we are distinguished, I and your people, from all the people on the face of the earth.

⁹ He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

⁵ And he was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people assembled, the tribes of Israel.

¹³ Gideon said to him Oh, my lord, if the LORD is with us why then has all this happened to us? Where are all His wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying 'Didn't the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hand of Midian.

¹² "God is with us as our leader. His priests will sound their trumpets to call the army to fight you. Men of Israel do not wage war against the LORD the God of your ancestors. You will not succeed."

⁴ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

² Blessed is the man to whom LORD does not impute sin, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin to you and I did not hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

⁵ God is gone up amid shouting, the LORD amid the sound of the trumpet. ⁶ Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises to our King, sing praises. ⁷ For God is the king of all the earth; sing a psalm for edification.

¹⁵ Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, the LORD. ¹⁶ They rejoice in your name all the day. They are exalted in your righteousness. ¹⁷ For You are the glory of their strength; and by Your favor You lift up our horn. ¹⁸ Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.

¹ the LORD reigneth: let the earth be glad, let the many isles rejoice.

¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD does mighty things.

¹⁸ "Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD: "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

¹⁰ ⌊Make a plan⌋, but it will be frustrated! Speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us!

⁶ "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."

²² For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver. the LORD is our king; he is the one who will save us.

¹⁷ »Yes, it was for my benefit that I suffered such distress. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction. You have put (thrown) (hurled) all my sins behind your back.

¹⁰ "'Do not fear for I am with you! Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'

²⁰ In those days and at that time," declares the LORD, "the guilt of Israel will be sought, but there is none, and the sins of Judah, but they will not be found, for I will forgive those I left behind.

³⁵ A perimeter shall measure 18,000 units, and the name of the city from that time on shall be 'THE LORD IS THERE.'"

² Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, "Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips. ³ Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses. We shall not say any more to the work of our hands, Our gods! For in You the fatherless finds mercy. ⁴ "I will heal their waywardness. I will love them freely; for my anger is turned away from him.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not keep His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ You will again have compassion on us. You will tread our iniquities under foot. You will throw all our sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

²³ “Behold! The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).

³⁷ When he had almost reached the place where the road led down the Mount of Olives, every one of the many disciples began in their joy to praise God loudly for all the miracles that they had seen: ³⁸ Blessed is the King that comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

⁷ Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven and whose sins are covered; ⁸ Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.”

¹⁴ For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

¹ Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴ But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

¹⁶ What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”

¹⁶ but indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth;

¹⁸ "Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen."

² "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

⁵ And he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor which is beside the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, Behold! A people has come out of Egypt. Behold! it has covered the face of the earth, and it is setting next to me.

⁸ ?God brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo. He shall consume the nations his enemies, and break their bones, and with his arrows shall smite [them] in pieces.

¹⁷ Majesty belongs to the firstborn of his herd. His horns are the horns of the wild ox. With them he will push all the peoples to the ends of the earth. They are the ten thousands of Ephraim. They are the thousands of Manasseh.”

⁹ "Will the wild ox be content to serve you? Or will he stay by your feeding trough? ¹⁰ Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you? ¹¹ "Will you rely on him for his great strength? Will you leave your heavy work to him?

²¹ Save me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen answer me.

³⁵ You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries. The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God!

¹⁰ But you have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; you have anointed me with fresh oil.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

⁶ Now, please go, curse this people for me because they are stronger than me; perhaps I will be able to strike them and drive them out from the land because I know whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you cursed is cursed." ⁷ The elders of Moab and Midian left. They took money with them to pay for Balaam's services. They came to Balaam and told him what Balak had said.

²² In addition to their slain, the Israelites killed with the sword Balaam son of Beor, who practiced divination.

¹⁹ Oh how great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men.

¹ [To the Chief Musician for the Sons of Korah, a maschil.] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old. ² You with your hand drove out the nations, but them you planted. You harmed the peoples, but them you let spread out. ³ For not with their sword did they possess the land, and their arm did not give them victory. Rather it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your presence, because you delighted in them.

⁹ All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done.

² Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues formed joyful shouts. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." ³ The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad.

¹³ to Him who divided the Red Sea apart; for His grace endures forever; ¹⁴ and brought Israel through the midst of it; for His mercy endures forever; ¹⁵ but threw Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea; for His mercy endures forever. ¹⁶ to him, who led his people through the desert; for his mercy endureth forever; ¹⁷ To Him who struck down great kings; for His mercy endures forever; ¹⁸ and killed mighty kings; for His grace endures forever: ¹⁹ Sihon king of the Amorites; for His grace endures forever; ²⁰ and Og king of Bashan; for His mercy endures forever;

⁴ "Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD have done this with the first of them and with the last. I am he!"

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and in his pity he redeemed them. He bore them, and carried them all the days of old. ¹⁰ But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. Therefore he turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought against them. ¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?” ¹² Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses' right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

¹⁵ And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made for Yourself a name, as it is this day; we have sinned; we have done evilly.

⁴ "I brought you out of the land of Egypt. I redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. ⁵ My people, remember, I pray, what Balak, king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam, son of Beor, answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal, that you may know the righteousness of the LORD."

¹⁵ As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt I will show him wondrous things.

²⁵ Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

²⁷ And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.

¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it!

¹⁸ He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven. ¹⁹ See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.

⁴⁷ whereupon the high priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin. "Whatever is to be done?" they said. "The fellow is performing a number of Signs.

¹⁶ They said, "What should we do with these men? For it's obvious to everybody living in Jerusalem that an unmistakable sign has been done by them, and we cannot deny it.

¹² The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people, and with one accord the believers gathered together in Solomon’s Colonnade.

¹⁴ And multitudes both of men and women believing were the more added to the Lord:)

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.

¹² The whole assembly fell silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul describing the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them.

²⁰ The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²³ They only heard the account: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” ²⁴ And they praised God because of me.

⁸ For the Lord’s message sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith toward God [also] spread everywhere [else], so that we do not have to say anything [about you]. ⁹ For they themselves report what kind of welcome you gave us, and how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God

⁹ And the great dragon was hurled down—the ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

⁹ Judah is a lion's whelp. My son, you have risen up from the prey; he stoops, he crouches like a lion; and like a lioness, who can rouse him?

²⁷ “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf. In the morning he will devour the prey. At evening he will divide the plunder.”

Those that bless you are blessed, and those that curse you are cursed.

¹⁷ I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.

²⁰ About Gad he said: "Blessed be the One who enlarges Gad! Like a roaring lion, he crouches, tearing arm and scalp.

¹² They observed me, like a lion eager for prey, and like a young lion lurking in coverts.

³⁰ The lion, mighty among the beasts, retreats before nothing.

⁴ This is what the LORD said to me: "A lion, even a young lion, growls over its prey when a crowd of shepherds is called to fight it. It is not frightened by their voices or disturbed by the noise they make. So the LORD Almighty will come to fight for Mount Zion and on its hill.

⁴⁴ “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.

⁸ The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Sovereign LORD has spoken; who will not prophesy?

⁸ The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is no one to deliver. ⁹ Your hand will be lifted high over your enemies, and all your foes will be cut off.

¹¹ Where is the lions' hole, the place where the young lions got their food, where the lion and the she-lion were walking with their young, without cause for fear?

⁴ From him will come the cornerstone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together. ⁵ And they will be like warriors, trampling in the mud of the streets in the battle. They will fight, because the LORD is with them, and they will put to shame the riders on horses.

⁶ " 'On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a pan of fire among sticks of wood, and like a torch of fire among stalks of grain, and they will devour to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples, and Jerusalem will be inhabited again in its place, in Jerusalem.

⁵ Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

¹¹ Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war. ¹² His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He had a name written which no one knows but he himself. ¹³ He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of God. ¹⁴ The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses, and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God, the Almighty. ¹⁶ and on his robe and on his thigh he has this name written-- 'KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.' ¹⁷ Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, ¹⁸ so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of all men slave and free, small and great.” ¹⁹ Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. ²⁰ But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed signs on his behalf, by which he deceived those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. ²¹ The rest were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of him who sat on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves upon their bodies.

¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain? ² The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. ³ "Let us break their bands asunder and throw off from us their yoke."

¹² He answered and said, "Should I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?" ¹³ Balak said: "Please come with me to another place, where you can see the Israelites. You will see only some of them, not all of them. Curse them for me from there."

¹² Balaam replied to Balak: "Did I not tell the messengers whom you sent to me: ¹³ 'If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of the LORD, to do either good or bad of my own mind. I will say what the LORD says?'

¹⁴ And Micaiah said, "As surely as the LORD liveth, what the LORD putteth in my mouth, that will I speak."

¹³ Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, I will say what my God says.”

¹⁹ But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God. ²⁰ For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

²⁹ Peter and the other Apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than man.

¹³ Balak said: "Please come with me to another place, where you can see the Israelites. You will see only some of them, not all of them. Curse them for me from there."

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? ²⁰ Look, I have received a command to bless. He has blessed, and I can't reverse it.

¹³ "But he is One who can change him? He does whatever he wants to do.

²¹ There are many plans in a man's heart, but the LORD's counsel will prevail.

³⁰ There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

²⁷ For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who shall reverse it? And His hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

¹⁰ "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.' ¹¹ I summon a bird of prey from the east. I summon a man to fulfill my purpose from a far off land. What I have said I will bring about. What I have determined (purposed) I will do.

²⁸ They also attached themselves to Baal of Peor, and they ate sacrifices offered to the dead.
