¹ Therefore, since Christ suffered on our behalf in flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mentality (for the one who has ‘suffered in flesh’ has been made to cease from sin)

² Of course not! How can we who died to sin keep on living in it?

⁷ because he who has died has been released from that sin.

¹¹ Thus you also, consider yourselves to be dead indeed to the sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹² The night is nearly over, and the day is near; so let us get rid of the works of the darkness, and let us put on the weapons of the light. ¹³ Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual orgies and licentiousness, not in strife and jealousy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, with a view to lusts.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, so it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; what I now live in this body I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself in my place.

²⁴ Further, those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

¹³ That is why you must take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, to stand firm, with everything in place.

⁵ In fact, let this mindset be in you that was also in Christ Jesus,

³ because you died and your life has been hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ Whenever Christ, our life, is revealed then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. ⁵ Therefore put to death your members that are on the earth: fornication, filthiness, passion, evil desire, and the greediness that is idolatry.

¹⁰ Further, the one having entered into His rest has himself also rested from his own works, just as God did from His.

³ Do consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so as not to grow weary, losing courage in your souls.

¹⁸ Because Christ also suffered on account of sins, once for all, the righteous on behalf of the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God; having been put to death, to be sure, in flesh but having been made alive in spirit;
