¹ These things have I spoken to you, that ye should not be offended.

⁶ And blessed is he to whom I shall not be the cause of his falling into sin.

²¹ Yet he hath not root in himself, but endureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, forthwith he is offended.

⁵⁷ And they were offended in him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.

¹⁰ And then will many be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.

³¹ Then saith Jesus to them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. ³² But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. ³³ Peter answered and said to him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

¹¹ These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

⁴ But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not to you at the beginning, because I was with you.

²¹ It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing by which thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

¹⁰ That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ;

⁸ And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them who stumble at the word, being disobedient: to which also they were appointed.
