¹ After this there was a feast of the Jews: and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. ² Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue, Bethesda, having five porches. ³ In these lay a great multitude of impotent persons, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. ⁴ For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and agitated the water: whoever then first after the stirring of the water stepped in, was cured of whatever disease he had. ⁵ And a certain man was there, who had an infirmity thirty and eight years. ⁶ When Jesus saw him lying, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith to him, Wilt thou be healed? ⁷ The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is agitated, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. ⁸ Jesus saith to him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. ⁹ And immediately the man was healed, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. ¹⁰ The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, it is the sabbath; it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. ¹¹ He answered them, He that healed me, the same said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk. ¹² Then they asked him, What man is that who said to thee, Take up thy bed, and walk? ¹³ And he that was healed knew not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. ¹⁴ Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art cured: sin no more, lest a worse thing come to thee. ¹⁵ The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. ¹⁶ And therefore the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath. ¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. ¹⁸ Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Then answered Jesus, and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing by himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for whatever things he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. ²⁰ For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. ²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead, and reviveth them; even so the Son reviveth whom he will. ²² For the Father judgeth no man; but hath committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father who hath sent him. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; ²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation. ³⁰ I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me. ³¹ If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true. ³² There is another that testifieth concerning me, and I know that the testimony which he beareth concerning me is true. ³³ Ye sent to John, and he testified to the truth. ³⁴ But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye may be saved. ³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. ³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear testimony concerning me, that the Father hath sent me. ³⁷ And the Father himself who hath sent me, hath borne testimony concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. ³⁸ And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. ³⁹ Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. ⁴⁰ And ye will not come to me, that ye may have life. ⁴¹ I receive not honor from men. ⁴² But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. ⁴³ I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. ⁴⁴ How can ye believe, who receive honor one from another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? ⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. ⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote concerning me. ⁴⁷ But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

¹⁴ Three times thou shalt keep a feast to me in the year. ¹⁵ Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) ¹⁶ And the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of in-gathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labors out of the field. ¹⁷ Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.

²³ Thrice in the year shall all your male children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.

² Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. ³ Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, a holy convocation: ye shall do no work in it: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. ⁴ These are the feasts of the LORD, holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

¹ And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had a withered hand. ² And they watched him, to see whether he would heal him on the sabbath; that they might accuse him. ³ And he saith to the man who had the withered hand, Stand forth. ⁴ And he saith to them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? but they held their peace.

²² Then Jesus answering, said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

²⁵ But if we hope for what we see not, then with patience we wait for it.

⁷ Be patient, therefore, brethren, to the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receiveth the early and the latter rain.

¹⁰ And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. ¹¹ But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. ¹² Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? ⁶⁰ I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

⁴ Give not sleep to thy eyes, nor slumber to thy eyelids.

¹⁷ I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

¹⁰ Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

⁸ Then said he to me, These waters issue out towards the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

¹³ The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.

¹ In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

²⁴ Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. ²⁵ When once the master of the house hath risen, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us; and he will answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are: ²⁶ Then ye will begin to say, We have eaten and drank in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. ²⁷ But he will say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. ²⁸ There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves excluded.

¹⁶ The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it since this came to him? and he said, From a child.

⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, who had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed by any,

²³ If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath?

¹⁴ And it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

⁷ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. ⁸ And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

¹⁵ In those days I saw in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day in which they sold provisions. ¹⁶ There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, who brought fish, and all manner of wares, and sold on the sabbath to the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. ¹⁷ Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day? ¹⁸ Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath. ¹⁹ And it came to pass, that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and I set some of my servants at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day. ²⁰ So the merchants and sellers of all kind of wares lodged without Jerusalem once or twice. ²¹ Then I testified against them, and said to them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth they came no more on the sabbath.

¹³ If thou shalt turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thy own ways, nor finding thy own pleasure, nor speaking thy own words:

²¹ Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

²⁷ But if ye will not hearken to me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

² But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath. ³ But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him; ⁴ How he entered into the house of God, and ate the show-bread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them who were with him, but only for the priests? ⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? ⁶ But I say to you, that in this place is one greater than the temple. ⁷ But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. ⁸ For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath.

² For I bear them testimony that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

³⁰ But he passing through the midst of them, went away,

³¹ And their eyes were opened, and they knew him: and he vanished out of their sight.

⁵⁹ Then they took up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

⁹ Jesus saith to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

¹² If he shall offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried.

²³ And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary to me; ²⁴ Then will I also walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

²⁷ And if ye will not for all this hearken to me, but walk contrary to me;

²² And in the time of his distress he trespassed yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.

¹³ And after all that hath come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this; ¹⁴ Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldst thou not be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?

²⁸ But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore thou leftest them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned and cried to thee, thou hearedest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;

¹³ (9:12)When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

⁶ And now shall my head be lifted above my enemies around me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.

¹³ I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings: I will pay thee my vows, ¹⁴ Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. ¹⁵ I will offer to thee burnt-sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

²⁰ He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. ²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

¹² What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits towards me? ¹³ I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

¹⁸ The LORD hath chastened me severely: but he hath not given me over to death.

²⁰ The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

²² Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?

⁴⁵ Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also to this wicked generation.

⁵ When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick with the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.

⁵ And a certain man was there, who had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

¹¹ She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

³ For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

²¹ And I gave her time to repent of her lewdness, and she repented not. ²² Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. ²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works.

⁴⁵ But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

¹⁹ And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou?

²⁹ Come, see a man who hath told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

¹² Then they asked him, What man is that who said to thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

¹¹ He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus, made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. ¹² Then said they to him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

¹⁵ Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and do see.

²⁵ He answered and said, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.

³⁰ The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? and they cast him out.

¹³ Then saith he to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched it out; and it was restored to a sound state like the other.

⁶ And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

¹¹ And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

¹³ And he that was healed knew not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? ²⁰ The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee?

²⁵ Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?

³⁹ Therefore they sought again to take him; but he escaped from their hand,

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee to kick against the goads.

¹ Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. ² And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

⁶ (65:5)By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names, by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father.

⁴ I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work.

¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you, I speak not from myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁸ For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.

⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all.

¹⁶ For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are upon earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

³ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁷ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father who hath sent him.

¹ After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.

¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

²² Moses therefore gave to you circumcision, (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man. ²³ If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath?

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that honoreth me, of whom ye say, that he is your God:

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

³⁰ I and my Father are one.

³³ The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy, and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loveth me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁶ Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

²² And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God enlightened it, and the Lamb is the light of it.

¹ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

³ And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth.

¹¹ And the LORD said to him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD.

¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

³ In the day when I cried thou didst answer me, and strengthen me with strength in my soul.

⁶ For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

²⁴ Thus saith the LORD thy Redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself:

²⁴ Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

¹⁰ I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

³ Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead, and reviveth them; even so the Son reviveth whom he will.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

²⁸ Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation. ³⁰ I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who hath sent me.

²⁸ Then said Jesus to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

¹⁸ No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from my Father.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: ²⁶ And whoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. Believest thou this?

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken from myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

¹⁶ And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; ¹⁷ Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and will be in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. ¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. ²⁰ At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. ²¹ He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me, shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, saith to him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loveth me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

²⁴ Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

⁴ Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised Christ from the dead will also revive your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

¹² Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

¹⁴ Knowing, that he who raised the Lord Jesus, will raise us also by Jesus, and will present us with you.

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether good or bad.

⁹ And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁸ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ And what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath made us alive together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

¹⁶ That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

²¹ Who will change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like to his glorious body, according to the working by which he is able even to subdue all things to himself.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.

¹¹ Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, to all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works.

²² The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. ²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth. ²⁶ While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: ²⁸ When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: ²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: ³⁰ Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; ³¹ Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²⁷ All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.

²² All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

²⁹ And shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.

³² Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

⁴⁵ And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me: ⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. ⁴⁷ And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

¹² Verily, verily, I say to you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father.

¹⁵ Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

²⁶ And I have declared to them thy name, and will declare it: that the love with which thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I in them.

¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

³⁹ See now that I, even I am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

²¹ And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried to the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.

³² And when Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. ³³ He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them both, and prayed to the LORD. ³⁴ And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child became warm. ³⁵ Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

⁷ And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send to me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: And they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise. ¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak, and he delivered him to his mother.

⁵⁴ And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. ⁵⁵ And her spirit came again, and she arose immediately: and he commanded to give her food.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

⁴³ And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. ⁴⁴ And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith to them, Loose him, and let him go.

² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

⁸ Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

¹⁷ (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations) before him whom he believed, even God, who reviveth the dead, and calleth those things which are not, as though they were. ¹⁸ Who against hope believed with hope, that he should become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. ¹⁹ And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb.

⁷ (9:6)O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial hath perished with them. ⁸ (9:7)But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

³ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous around him. ⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. ⁵ Gather my saints together to me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. ⁶ And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

¹³ For he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

⁹ Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness will he judge the world, and the people with equity.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

¹⁴ For God will bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

²⁷ For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward every man according to his works.

³¹ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit upon the throne of his glory: ³² And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: ³³ And he will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. ³⁴ Then will the King say to them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was hungry, and ye gave me food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: ³⁶ Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came to me. ³⁷ Then will the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee? ⁴⁰ And the king will answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me. ⁴¹ Then will he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: ⁴² For I was hungry, and ye gave me no food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then will they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? ⁴⁵ Then will he answer them, saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

¹⁸ And Jesus came, and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and upon earth.

²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they who see not, may see; and that they who see, may be made blind.

⁴² And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

³¹ Because he hath appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness, by that man whom he hath ordained: of which he hath given assurance to all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

¹⁶ In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.

¹⁰ But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of Christ. ¹¹ For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ¹² So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

⁷ And to you who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, ⁸ In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁹ Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; ¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired by all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

¹ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

⁵ Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

³ Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁴ His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. ⁵ Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

⁸ I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

¹⁰ Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no god formed, neither shall there be after me. ¹¹ I, even I, am the LORD; and besides me there is no savior.

⁶ Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.

¹⁵ Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

²¹ Tell ye, and bring them near; yes, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else besides me; a just God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

⁵ Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. ⁶ For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. ⁷ Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.

²¹ And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

³⁷ Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

¹⁹ Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.

⁸ Also I say to you, Whoever shall confess me before men, him will the Son of man also confess before the angels of God. ⁹ But he that denieth me before men, shall be denied before the angels of God.

¹ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

²³ He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man hath done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen, and hated both me and my Father.

¹⁴ He will glorify me: for he will receive of mine, and will show it to you.

¹⁰ And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

⁷ To all that are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²² But now being made free from sin, and having become servants to God, ye have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. Now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

⁷ For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. ⁸ For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.

¹² And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

³ Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own?

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

²² If any man loveth not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema, Maran-atha.

⁹ But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

¹⁹ To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.

¹² That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. ¹³ In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

²⁴ Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

¹¹ Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. ¹² And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one towards another, and towards all men, even as we do towards you: ¹³ To the end he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, ¹⁷ Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

¹² For which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him against that day.

¹³ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God, and our Savior Jesus Christ; ¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior towards man appeared, ⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

⁶ And again, when he bringeth in the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

²³ Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

⁹ Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four living beings, and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. ⁹ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals of it: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and language, and people, and nation; ¹⁰ And hast made us to our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. ¹¹ And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and the living beings, and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be to him that sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever. ¹⁴ And the four living beings said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth for ever and ever.

¹⁶ He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

¹⁸ He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

³⁶ He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁴⁷ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

⁵¹ Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never see death.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: ²⁸ And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and none is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and my Father are one.

²⁶ And whoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall never die. Believest thou this?

⁴⁴ Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me:

³¹ But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

¹⁶ The Spirit itself testifieth with our spirit, that we are the children of God: ¹⁷ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if we suffer with him, that we may be glorified together.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover, whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

³³ Who will lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth: ³⁴ Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, or rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

¹¹ For the scripture saith, whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all, is rich to all that call upon him, ¹³ For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

⁹ For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ To which he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵ Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

²¹ Who by him do believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother, abideth in death.

¹ Whoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat, loveth him also that is begotten by him.

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. ¹³ These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

⁶⁰ Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

²⁴ For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

³² It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

²¹ Jesus saith to her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

²³ But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

²⁸ Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

⁴³ Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

⁴⁷ He that is of God, heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

¹ Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

¹ These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

¹ And you hath he revived, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

¹⁴ Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give thee light.

¹³ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he made alive together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

¹ And to the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name, that thou livest, and art dead.

¹⁴ And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: And he said, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me to you.

⁹ (36:8)They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

² Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldst have asked him, and he would have given thee living water.

⁵⁷ As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

³⁷ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsteth, let him come to me, and drink. ³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

⁶ Jesus saith to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me.

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. ³ And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

⁴⁵ And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a vivifying spirit.

³ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then will ye also appear with him in glory.

¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, God the only wise, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life; ² (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify, and show to you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;) ³ That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to living fountains of waters: and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth, say, Come. And let him that is thirsty, come: And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

⁶ Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. ⁷ I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said to me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. ⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thy inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. ⁹ Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

¹ A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool. ² The LORD will send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thy enemies.

⁶ He will judge among the heathen, he will fill the places with the dead bodies; he will wound the heads over many countries.

¹³ I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. ¹⁴ And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

²² For the Father judgeth no man; but hath committed all judgment to the Son:

²⁵ For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

²⁰ Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: ²² And put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. ⁹ Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth; ¹¹ And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁷ Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honor, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: ⁸ Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not made subject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

²² Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels, and authorities, and powers being made subject to him.

²⁵ For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he will stand at the latter day upon the earth: ²⁶ And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

¹⁹ Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

¹ The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, ² And caused me to pass by them around: and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and lo, they were very dry. ³ And he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? and I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. ⁴ Again he said to me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say to them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. ⁵ Thus saith the Lord GOD to these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: ⁶ And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. ⁷ So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. ⁸ And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. ⁹ Then said he to me, Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. ¹⁰ So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

¹⁴ I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues, O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from my eyes.

⁷ Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again.

²⁰ For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

³⁹ And this is the Father's will who hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. ⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

²⁴ Martha saith to him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day. ²⁵ Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

²² For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

⁴² So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption: ⁴³ It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power: ⁴⁴ It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a vivifying spirit. ⁴⁶ However, that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man is from the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. ⁴⁸ As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. ⁴⁹ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. ⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. ⁵¹ Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, ⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. ¹⁵ For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain to the coming of the Lord shall not precede them who are asleep. ¹⁶ For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

² And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. ³ And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

¹⁴ And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

¹⁵ And have hope towards God, which they themselves also allow, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

⁶ Who will render to every man according to his deeds: ⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honor, and immortality; eternal life: ⁸ But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness; indignation and wrath: ⁹ Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; ¹⁰ But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile;

⁸ For he that soweth to his flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall from the Spirit reap life everlasting. ⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ¹⁰ As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to them who are of the household of faith.

¹⁸ That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

¹⁶ But to do good, and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

¹¹ Let him shun evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it.

²⁵ That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

⁷ (40:6)Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; my ears hast thou opened: burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required. ⁸ (40:7)Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

³ And will make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he will not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: ⁴ But with righteousness will he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he will smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips will he slay the wicked.

⁷ As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water. ⁸ The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us. ⁹ O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them. ¹⁰ It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

³⁹ And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

³⁴ Jesus saith to them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

¹⁹ Then answered Jesus, and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing by himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for whatever things he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

¹⁵ Ye judge after the flesh, I judge no man. ¹⁶ And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

⁴² Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

⁵⁰ And I seek not my own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

⁴ I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

¹¹ Then said Jesus to Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

² But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth, against them who commit such things.

⁵ But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

³ For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

² Let another man praise thee, and not thy own mouth; a stranger, and not thy own lips.

¹³ The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou testifiest concerning thyself; thy testimony is not true. ¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, Though I testify concerning myself, yet my testimony is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

¹¹ And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²² And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear testimony concerning me, that the Father hath sent me. ³⁷ And the Father himself who hath sent me, hath borne testimony concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

¹⁷ It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. ¹⁸ I am one that testifieth concerning myself; and the Father that sent me, testifieth concerning me.

²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. ²⁹ The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered. Others said, An angel spoke to him. ³⁰ Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

⁵⁰ And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatever I speak therefore, even as the Father said to me, so I speak.

⁶ This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth testimony, because the Spirit is truth. ⁷ For there are three that bear testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. ⁸ And there are three that bear testimony on earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. ⁹ If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: for this is the testimony of God which he hath testified of his Son.

⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. ⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear testimony of the Light, that all men through him might believe. ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear testimony of that Light.

¹⁵ John testified concerning him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me, is preferred before me; for he was before me. ¹⁶ And of his fullness have we all received, and grace for grace. ¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. ¹⁹ And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou? ²⁰ And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. ²¹ And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? and he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. ²² Then said they to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? ²³ He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah. ²⁴ And they who were sent were of the Pharisees. ²⁵ And they asked him, and said to him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou art not that Christ, nor Elijah, neither that prophet? ²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; ²⁷ He it is, who coming after me, is preferred before me, whose shoes' latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world. ³⁰ This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man who is preferred before me; for he was before me. ³¹ And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. ³² And John bore testimony, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. ³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit. ³⁴ And I saw and bore testimony, that this is the Son of God.

²⁶ And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. ²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. ²⁸ Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. ²⁹ He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. ³⁰ He must increase, but I must decrease. ³¹ He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. ³² And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. ³³ He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true. ³⁴ For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for to him God giveth not the Spirit by measure. ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. ³⁶ He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how often would I have gathered thy children, as a hen gathereth her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

¹⁰ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

⁴¹ And when he had come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, ⁴² Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong to thy peace! but now they are hid from thy eyes.

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁴¹ I receive not honor from men.

³ For what if some did not believe? will their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

¹ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they may be saved.

²¹ But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands to a disobedient and gainsaying people.

²¹ Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

³ For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; ⁴ Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

¹⁶ Take heed to thyself and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou wilt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

⁹ If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: for this is the testimony of God which he hath testified of his Son.

³¹ And they come to thee as the people come, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

⁵ Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judea, and all the region about Jordan, ⁶ And were baptized by him in Jordan, confessing their sins. ⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said to them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

⁷ And as they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed shaken with the wind? ⁸ But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. ⁹ But what went ye out to see? A prophet? yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.

¹¹ Verily, I say to you, among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.

²⁰ But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and immediately with joy receiveth it; ²¹ Yet he hath not root in himself, but endureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, forthwith he is offended.

²⁶ But if we shall say, From men; we fear the people: for all hold John as a prophet.

²⁰ For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and observed him: and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

¹⁵ For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. ¹⁶ And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. ¹⁷ And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

⁷⁶ And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest, for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; ⁷⁷ To give knowledge of salvation to his people, by the remission of their sins,

²⁸ For I say to you, Among those that are born of women, there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God, is greater than he.

⁶⁶ From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

¹⁵ What then was the blessedness ye spoke of; for I bear you testimony, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. ¹⁶ Am I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

¹⁹ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; to which ye do well that ye take heed, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:

⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, Go and show John again those things which ye hear and see:

²³ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he performed.

² The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved.

³² There is another that testifieth concerning me, and I know that the testimony which he beareth concerning me is true.

³⁰ The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes. ³¹ Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man is a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. ³² Since the world began hath it not been heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. ³³ If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.

²⁵ Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I did in my Father's name, they testify concerning me.

³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. ³⁸ But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.

³⁷ And some of them said, Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

¹⁰ Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you, I speak not from myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. ¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man hath done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen, and hated both me and my Father.

²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life.

¹⁹ And they said to Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

¹² And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

²⁷ Labor not for the food which perisheth, but for that food which endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give to you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

¹⁸ I am one that testifieth concerning myself; and the Father that sent me, testifieth concerning me.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life; ² (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify, and show to you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)

¹² No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

²⁰ If a man sayeth, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, how can he love God, whom he hath not seen?

⁶ And these words which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart: ⁷ And thou shalt teach them diligently to thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ⁸ And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thy eyes. ⁹ And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

¹¹ Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

¹ My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; ² So that thou incline thy ear to wisdom, and apply thy heart to understanding;

¹ My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. ² Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thy eye.

⁷ Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

¹ Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? ² For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. ³ He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

¹¹ He came to his own, and his own received him not.

¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved. ¹⁸ He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. ²¹ But he that doeth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

⁴² But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. ⁴³ I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote concerning me. ⁴⁷ But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

³⁷ I know that ye are Abraham's offspring; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

⁴⁶ Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me? ⁴⁷ He that is of God, heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

⁴⁴ Jesus cried, and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me: ⁴⁵ And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me: ⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. ⁴⁷ And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. ⁴⁸ He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye may ask what ye will, and it shall be done to you.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

²¹ Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the ingrafted word, which is able to save your souls. ²² But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

¹⁸ Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. ¹⁹ And ye shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ²⁰ And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thy house, and upon thy gates:

¹⁸ And it shall be when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites. ¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

¹⁵ The LORD thy God will raise up to thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like to me; to him ye shall hearken.

¹⁸ I will raise up to them a prophet from among their brethren, like thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

⁴⁷ For it is not a vain thing for you: because it is your life; and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

¹¹ Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.

⁴ (21:3)For thou hast met him with the blessings of goodness: thou hast set a crown of pure gold on his head.

⁹⁷ MEM. O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day. ⁹⁸ Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

³ As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for ever.

²³ For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. ³⁴ Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

¹⁶ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

⁹ The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

² And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹⁶ And behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? ¹⁷ And he said to him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. ¹⁸ He saith to him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, ¹⁹ Honor thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. ²⁰ The young man saith to him, All these things have I kept from my youth: what lack I yet?

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

¹⁰ And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? ²⁶ He said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? ²⁷ And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. ²⁸ And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. ²⁹ But he, willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

²⁹ Abraham saith to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

³¹ And he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one shall rise from the dead.

²⁷ And beginning at Moses, and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him described by Moses in the law, and by the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear testimony concerning me, that the Father hath sent me.

⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote concerning me.

⁵² They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

³² The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth: ³³ In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. ³⁴ And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus.

²⁷ For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the words of the prophets which are read every sabbath, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

¹¹ These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

²² Having therefore obtained help from God, I continue to this day, testifying both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: ²³ That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should show light to the people, and to the Gentiles.

²⁷ King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

¹⁷ Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, ¹⁸ And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law,

² Much every way: chiefly, because that to them were committed the oracles of God.

¹⁴ But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them; ¹⁵ And that from a child thou hast known the sacred scriptures, which are able to make thee wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.

¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.

³⁵ Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

¹⁰ Concerning which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: ¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹⁹ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; to which ye do well that ye take heed, as to a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: ²⁰ Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. ²¹ For prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹¹ (81:10)I am the LORD thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

² Why, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish becometh putrid, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

³ And sent his servants to call them that were invited to the wedding: and they would not come.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them who are sent to thee, how often would I have gathered thy children, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

⁴⁴ How can ye believe, who receive honor one from another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only?

³⁷ All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise reject.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe, and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁴⁵ And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. ⁴⁶ Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me?

³⁷ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: ³⁸ That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? ³⁹ Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, ⁴⁰ He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. ⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

²³ For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³⁴ But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye may be saved.

¹⁵ When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again to a mountain himself alone.

¹⁸ He that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

⁶ Nor from men sought we glory, neither from you, nor yet from others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

²¹ For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

¹⁵ And he said to them, Ye are they who justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men, is abomination in the sight of God.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! ⁴⁸ Nathanael saith to him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee. ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

²⁵ And needed not that any should testify concerning man: for he knew what was in man.

⁵⁵ Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I should be a liar like you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

¹⁷ But he who hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

²¹ Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, by being corrupted by the Egyptians in thy youth.

⁵ For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many.

²⁴ For false Christs will arise, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they would deceive the very elect.

²⁸ Then said Jesus to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. ²⁹ And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

⁴ I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. ⁵ And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thy ownself, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. ⁶ I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest to me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

³⁶ For before these days rose Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to naught. ³⁷ After this man rose Judas of Galilee, in the days of the taxing, and drew away many people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

³⁸ Art not thou that Egyptian, who before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?

⁴ And no man taketh this honor to himself, but he that is called by God, as was Aaron: ⁵ So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said to him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee.

³⁰ Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

⁸ But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thy heart to build a house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thy heart;

²³ Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

⁵ But all their works they do to be seen by men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

²¹ His lord said to him, Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. ²² He also that had received two talents came, and said, Lord, thou deliveredst to me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents besides them. ²³ His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

¹⁷ And he said to him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

²⁰ For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

⁴³ For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

³ And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honor, and immortality; eternal life:

¹⁰ But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile;

²⁹ But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. ⁸ So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord shall come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise from God.

¹⁸ For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

³ Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹ My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

⁷ That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though tried with fire, might be found to praise, and honor, and glory, at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

⁷ They say to him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? ⁸ He saith to them, Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

⁵ Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned; but what sayest thou? ⁶ This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

⁹ And they who heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even to the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

²⁸ Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses. ²⁹ We know that God spoke to Moses: as for this man, we know not whence he is.

¹² For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law, shall be judged by the law,

¹⁷ Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God, ¹⁸ And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹ And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, who hast the form of knowledge, and of the truth in the law: ²¹ Thou therefore who teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? ²² Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? ²³ Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonorest thou God? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles, through you, as it is written. ²⁵ For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keepest the law; but if thou art a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. ²⁶ Therefore, if the uncircumcision keepeth the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? ²⁷ And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfilleth the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? ²⁸ For he is not a Jew, who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: ²⁹ But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. ²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

⁹ For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which was ordained to life, I found to be to death. ¹¹ For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. ¹² Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. ¹³ Was then that which is good made death to me? By no means. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. ¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

⁵ For Moses describeth the righteousness which is by the law, That the man who doeth these things shall live by them. ⁶ But the righteousness which is by faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down.) ⁷ Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring Christ again from the dead.) ⁸ But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: ⁹ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

⁷ But if the ministration of death, written and engraven on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away; ⁸ How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious? ⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation was glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. ¹¹ For if that which was done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Accursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

³ And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

¹⁸ Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

¹⁸ And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed: because thou hast obeyed my voice.

¹⁴ And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth; and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh shall come: and to him shall be the gathering of the people.

⁸ And the LORD said to Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. ⁹ And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. ¹⁸ And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

¹⁸ I will raise up to them a prophet from among their brethren, like thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. ¹⁹ And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not hearken to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

²² Having therefore obtained help from God, I continue to this day, testifying both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

⁴ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

¹⁹ For I through the law am dead to the law, that I may live to God.

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Accursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

²⁴ Wherefore the law was our school-master to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

²¹ Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? ²² For it is written, that Abraham had two sons; the one by a bond-maid, the other by a free-woman. ²³ But he who was of the bond-woman, was born according to the flesh; but he of the free-woman was by promise. ²⁴ Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. ²⁵ For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. ²⁶ But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. ²⁷ For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she who hath a husband. ²⁸ Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. ²⁹ But as then he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. ³⁰ Nevertheless, what saith the scripture? Cast out the bond-woman and her son: for the son of the bond-woman shall not be heir with the son of the free-woman. ³¹ So then, brethren, we are not children of the bond-woman, but of the free.

¹ For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; ² To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; ³ Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like to the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. ⁴ Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. ⁵ And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they come from the loins of Abraham: ⁶ But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes from Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. ⁷ And without all contradiction the less is blessed by the better. ⁸ And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is testified that he liveth. ⁹ And as I may say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. ¹⁰ For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
