¹ Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm your selves likewise with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sin;

² God forbid: how shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

⁷ For he that is dead, is justified from sin.

¹¹ Likewise reckon ye also your selves dead indeed unto sin; but alive onto God through Jesus Christ.

¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast away the works of darkness, but let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying ¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, unto its lusts.

²⁰ I am crucified with Christ: Nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

²⁴ And they that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts.

¹³ Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day; and having done all,

⁵ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

³ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ your life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. ⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, and uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

¹⁰ For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from all his own works, as God from his.

³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once died for sins for us, the just for the unjust; that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickned by the Spirit:
