¹ Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: ² How that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. ³ For to [their] power I bear record, yea, and beyond their power [they were] willing of themselves, ⁴ Praying us with much intreaty, [that we would accept the gift], and the fellowship of the ministring to the saints. ⁵ And this, not as we hoped; but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. ⁶ Insomuch that we have desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. ⁷ Therefore as ye abound in every thing, in faith, in utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us; that ye abound in this grace also. ⁸ I speak not by commandment, but on account of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. ⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. ¹⁰ And herein I give advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. ¹¹ Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as [there was] a readiness to will, so [there may be] a performance also out of that which you have. ¹² For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, not according to that he hath not. ¹³ For not that other men be eased, and you burdened: ¹⁴ But by an equality, [that] now at this time your abundance [may] be for their want, that their abundance also may be for your want, that there may be equality, ¹⁵ As it is written, He that [had] much, had nothing over; and he that [had] little, had no lack. ¹⁶ But thanks [be] to God, who put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you. ¹⁷ For indeed he accepted the exhortation, but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you. ¹⁸ And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise [is] in the gospel, throughout all the churches: ¹⁹ And not [that] only, but he was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace which is administred by us to the glory of the Lord, and of your ready mind. ²⁰ Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administred by us: ²¹ For providing to do honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. ²² And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence towards us. ²³ Whether for Titus, [he is] my partner, and fellow-helper concerning you: or for our brethren, [they are] the messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ. ²⁴ Shewing thereby to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

²³ Who when he came also and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue with the Lord.

⁹ [And] one like a man of Macedonia appeared to Paul in a vision in the night, standing over against him, and prayed, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem,

¹⁰ But by the grace of God, I am what I am: and his grace upon me has not been poor, but I laboured more abundantly than all: yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

² For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

⁴ Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, and we, that we say not, you, should be ashamed in this same confidence.

¹² For the administration of this service, not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

⁹ And when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me, the brethren who came from Macedonia, supplied: and in all things I have kept my self from being burdensom unto you, and will keep [my self].

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

²⁹ Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

⁷ So that ye are become ensamples t all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia. ⁸ For from you sounded out the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but in every place our faith to God-ward is spread abroad, so that we need not to speak any thing.

¹⁰ And indeed ye do it towards all the brethren, which ar in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, Brethren, that ye increase more and more;

⁴² But there came one widow, and she threw in two mites, which are a farthing. ⁴³ And Jesus called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast more in than all they who have cast into the treasury. ⁴⁴ For all these did cast in of their abundance: but she of her want did cast in all that she had, all her living.

¹ And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. ² And he saw also a certain poor widow, casting in two mites, which are a farthing, ³ And he said, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all. ⁴ For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

⁴⁵ And as many as had possessions of goods, sold them, and parted them to all as every one had need. ⁴⁶ And they all continued in the temple, and from house to house, and breaking bread, partook of meat with gladness and singleness of heart.

⁸ He that exhorteth on exhortation: he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-wards.

¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.

¹¹ Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

¹³ Whiles by the experiment of this ministration, they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men.

⁶ And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord; having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

¹⁴ For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God, which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they of the Jews:

³ That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for your selves know that we are appointed thereunto, ⁴ For verily when we were with you, we told you before, that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

⁵ Hearken, my beloved brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of the world, rich in faith, and heirs of the promise, which he hath promised to them that love him?

⁹ I know thy tribulation, and poverty, but thou art rich, and the blasphemy of them who say they are Jews, and are not, but the synagogue of Satan.

⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

²⁹ But the disciples, every man according to their ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren who dwelt in Judea.

² For I bear them record, that they have a Zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

¹⁷ For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed unto me.

² Upon the first [day] of the week, let every one of you lay by him in store, as he hath been prospered, that there be no gatherings when I come.

¹¹ Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as [there was] a readiness to will, so [there may be] a performance also out of that which you have. ¹² For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, not according to that he hath not.

¹⁶ But thanks [be] to God, who put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you. ¹⁷ For indeed he accepted the exhortation, but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

⁶ But thus, He who soweth sparingly, shall reap also sparingly: and he who soweth bountifully, shall reap bountifully. ⁷ Every man according as he purposeth in his heart; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

¹⁵ What a blessedness yours was then? for I bear you record, that if possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have even given them to me.

¹³ For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

¹³ For I bear him record, that he is in great pain for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

⁸ So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

¹⁴ But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

¹¹ If any man speak, as the oracles of God; if any man minister, as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

² Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight not by constraint, but willingly according to God, not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink to one o the least of these, a cup of cold water, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, his reward shall not be lost.

⁵⁰ For whosoever does the will of my Father who is in the heavens, the same is my brother, and father, and mother.

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer, and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

⁴⁴ Then shall they answer, saying, Lord, When saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee. ⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have not done it to one of the least of these, ye have not done it to me.

⁷ For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

²⁶ When Jesus therefore saw [his] mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, they son. ²⁷ Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother. And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own [home].

¹ And in these days when the disciples were multiplied, there was a murmuring of the Helenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration, in the ministration of the Hebrews. ² Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said unto them, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. ³ What is it therefore, brethren? Look ye out from among your selves seven men, attested to be full of the Spirit, and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. ⁴ But we will give our selves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. ⁵ And this saying pleased the whole multitude of the disciples; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch. ⁶ These were set also before the apostles: who when they had prayed, laid [their] hands on them. ⁷ And the word of the Lord increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

³⁹ Then Peter arose, and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper room, and all the widows stood round about him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. ⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed, and turning to the body, said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ And he gave her his hand, and lift her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and all her houshold, she besought [us], saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to God, come into my house and abide [there.] And she constrained us.

¹⁷ Now after many years, I came to bring alms to my nation, offerings, and vows.

²⁵ But now I go unto Jerusalem, to minister unto the saints. ²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem,

³¹ And I may be de- livered from them that do not believe in Judea; and that my present for Jerusalem, may be accepted of the saints:

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.

³ And when I come, whomsoever you shall approve, them will I send with [my] epistles to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. ⁴ And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

¹⁵ I beseech you, brethren, ye know the house of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, who are the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.

¹⁸ And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise [is] in the gospel, throughout all the churches: ¹⁹ And not [that] only, but he was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace which is administred by us to the glory of the Lord, and of your ready mind.

¹ For as touching the ministring to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you.

¹² For the administration of this service, not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; ¹³ Whiles by the experiment of this ministration, they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men. ¹⁴ And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

¹⁰ Only that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

¹⁰ As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

¹⁰ Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

⁵ Hearing of thy faith and love, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus Christ, and toward all saints; ⁶ That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing, which is in you in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ For God [is] not unrighteous, to forget your work of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministred to the saints, and do minister.

¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

¹³ Neither yield ye your members instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield your selves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead; and your members instruments of righteousness unto God.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, your reasonable service.

⁷ For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. ⁸ For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ both lived, and died, and rose again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

⁵ For we preach not our selves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and our selves your servants for Jesus sake.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge, that [if] one died for all, then were all dead; ¹⁵ And he died for all, that they who live, should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again.

⁵ Therefore I have thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, which had been promised before, that the same might be ready, as bounty, and not as covetousness.

¹⁸ I desired Titus, and with [him] I sent a brother: did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? not in the same steps?

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus what was sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

¹⁰ As every man hath received the gift, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

¹⁴ And I my self also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye are full of goodness, and filled with all knowledge, able to admonish one another.

⁵ That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and all knowledge:

⁷ For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive [it], why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received [it]

¹ Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. ² And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

¹³ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

² And though I have prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no charity, I am nothing.

⁸ Charity never faileth: but whether prophecies, they shall fail; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall vanish away.

¹² Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

⁷ And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

⁶ Insomuch that we have desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

⁸ And God [is] able to make all grace abound towards you; that ye always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

¹⁴ And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to edification of faith: that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge, and all judgment;

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of Christ. [God.]

⁹ But as touching brotherly love, we have no need to write unto you: for ye your selves are taught of God to love one another. ¹⁰ And indeed ye do it towards all the brethren, which ar in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, Brethren, that ye increase more and more;

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all towards each other aboundeth:

¹ My son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

²⁸ Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear.

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently:

⁵ And do ye give all diligence, add to your faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; ⁷ And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. ⁸ For if these things be present with you, and abound, they make [you] neither barren, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: to him [be] glory, both now and for ever. Amen.

¹⁷ Because thou sayst, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

¹² Now if the fall of them [be] the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles: how much more their fulness? ¹³ For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am an apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: ¹⁴ If by any means I may provoke to emulation my flesh, and might save some of them.

⁹ [Let] love [be] without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

⁶ But I speak this by permission, not by commandment.

¹² But to the rest speak I, not the Lord, If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

²⁵ Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

⁶ In purity, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Ghost, in love unfeigned,

²⁴ And let us consider one another to provoke unto love, and to good works:

¹⁴ What profit [is it,] my Brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? ¹⁵ If a brother or sister be naked, or destitute of daily food; ¹⁶ And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be you warmed, and filled: notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what profit is it?

¹⁷ But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ Hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

²⁰ And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.

²⁷ But lest we should give them offence, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find there a shekel: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. But do you seek to increase from a little, and to be diminished from what is greater. However, when you are come and are desired to sup, do not you sit in the most eminent places, lest more honourable than thou come, and he that invited thee to supper come upon thee and say to thee, Go down still lower; and thou be put to confusion. But if thou sittest in a lower place, and one inferior to thee comes, he that invited thee will say to thee, Go and sit higher. For this will be to thy advantage.

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were scandalized at him.

⁷ And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swadling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

³ And Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herods steward, and Susanna, and many others, who also ministred unto them of their substance.

⁵⁸ And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the heaven nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.

¹¹ If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true?

¹ IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ⁴ And in him was life, and the life is the light of men.

¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth by Jesus Christ.

³⁰ Jesus answered, and said, This voice came, not because of me, but for your sakes.

¹⁵ All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall tell it unto you.

¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctifie my self, that they also may be sanctified in the truth.

⁸ But God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

²⁰ Moreover, the law entered, that the offence might abound: But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

³² He that did not so much as spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

¹² Now if the fall of them [be] the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles: how much more their fulness?

⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

²¹ Therefore let no man glory in men: for all things are yours: ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

⁴⁷ The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] from heaven.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, [be] with you all. Amen.

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in his beloved Son. ⁷ In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ⁸ Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁷ That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace, in kindness towards us, through Christ.

¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge; that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

⁶ Who being in the form of [a] God, did not take upon him to be equal to a God: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

¹⁶ For by him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. ¹⁷ And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

²⁴ Who now rejoice in sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body's sake, who is the church:

¹⁸ That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

² Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the ages.

⁶ And when he bringeth in again the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. ⁷ And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. ⁸ But unto the Son, Thy throne, O God, [it] for ever and ever; and a sceptre of righteousness the sceptre of thy kingdom: ⁹ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God thy God hath annointed thee with the oyl of gladness above thy fellows. ¹⁰ And, Thou Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands. ¹¹ They shall perish, but thou remainest: and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; ¹² And as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed as a garment: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. ¹³ But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? ¹⁴ Are they not all ministring spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

¹⁸ I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayst be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayst be clothed, and the shame of thy nakedness may not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye-salve, that thou mayst see.

⁷ He that overcometh shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son.

⁵⁰ Nor consider that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

⁷ But I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

¹⁴ Now Caiphas was he also who gave counsel to the Jews, that is was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

¹² All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

⁴⁰ But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the spirit of God.

²³ All things are lawful, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful, but all things edify not.

⁸ I speak not by commandment, but on account of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

¹ It is not expedient doubtless to glory: I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

¹⁸ That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; ¹⁹ To lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on that life which is real.

¹⁶ But to do good, and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased,

⁷ For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. ⁸ She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entred into thine house, and thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped [them] with her hairs. ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kiss my feet. ⁴⁶ Mine head with oyl thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed [it] with ointment.

⁴⁷ And that servant who knew his lords will, but did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes.] ⁴⁸ But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. To whom much is given they will require the more from him; and to whom they have committed much, of him they will require the more.

¹⁰ He that his faithful in the least, is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in a little, is unjust also in much.

³⁴ And no one among them wanted: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses: sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

²⁶ For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are at Jerusalem, ²⁷ And their debters they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

³⁵ And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and bag, and shoes, lacked ye any thing?And they said, Nothing.

¹³ I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I came from thence into Macedonia. ¹⁴ Now thanks [be] unto God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the favour of his knowledge by us in every place.

¹² Wherefore though I wrote unto you, It was not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.

²⁰ For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state.

¹⁷ Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

¹⁷ For God hath put into their hearts to fulfil his will, and to give their kingdom unto the wild beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

²² And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation; for I have written a letter unto you in a few words.

⁴ Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

¹⁷ As the Lord hath distributed to every man, as God hath called every one, so let him walk: and so teach I in all churches.

¹² Furthermore when I came to Troas by the gospel of Christ, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

²² And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence towards us. ²³ Whether for Titus, [he is] my partner, and fellow-helper concerning you: or for our brethren, [they are] the messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.

³ What is it therefore, brethren? Look ye out from among your selves seven men, attested to be full of the Spirit, and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. ⁴ But we will give our selves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. ⁵ And this saying pleased the whole multitude of the disciples; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch. ⁶ These were set also before the apostles: who when they had prayed, laid [their] hands on them.

²² Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas; Judas named Barabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren:

²⁵ It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send out chosen men unto you, with your beloved Barnabas and Paul;

¹⁵ For all things [are] for your sakes, that the abundant grace, might, through the thanksgiving of many, redound to the glory of God.

¹ Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: ² How that in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. ³ For to [their] power I bear record, yea, and beyond their power [they were] willing of themselves, ⁴ Praying us with much intreaty, [that we would accept the gift], and the fellowship of the ministring to the saints.

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus what was sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. ¹⁹ But my God shall supply all your need according to the riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ As every man hath received the gift, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. ¹¹ If any man speak, as the oracles of God; if any man minister, as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹⁶ Let not then our good be evil spoken of.

³ And when I come, whomsoever you shall approve, them will I send with [my] epistles to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.

¹² But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion, that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

¹⁵ See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

²² Abstain from all appearance of evil.

¹⁶ Let your light so thine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorifie your Father who is in the heavens.

¹ Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father in the heavens.

⁴ That thine alms may be in secret: and thy father who seeth in scret, himself shall reward thee.

⁵ But all their works they do, for to be seen of men: For they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge their borders.

¹⁷ Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

¹⁸ For he that in these things serveth Christ, [is] acceptable to God, and approved of men.

¹⁷ For we are not as the rest, who corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the light of God speak we in Christ.

⁹ Wherefore we labour, that whether present or absent we may be accepted of him. ¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things [done] by his body, what he hath done, whether good or bad. ¹¹ Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God, and I trust also, are made manifest in your consciences.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things honest, whatsoever things just, whatsoever things pure, whatsoever things lovely, whatsoever things of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if any praise of knowledge think on these things.

¹⁴ I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

⁵ [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. ⁶ Young men likewise exhort to be sober-minded. ⁷ In all things shewing thy self a pattern of good works: in doctrine, gravity, sincerity, ⁸ Sound Speech that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part, may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us.

¹² Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by the good works which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

²⁰ For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state. ²¹ For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. ²² But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the Gospel.

⁷ And they beckned unto [their] partners, in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they almost sunk.

¹⁰ But his partners were James and John the sons of Zebedee. But he said unto them, come and be not fishers of fish, for I will make you fishers of men.

⁶ Nevertheless, God that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus:

¹⁶ But thanks [be] to God, who put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

²⁵ Yet I supposed it necessary, so send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

³ Nay, I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow, help those women who laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement, with other my fellow-labourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.

⁷ As ye learned of Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for us a faithful minister of Christ;

² But after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

¹⁷ If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

²⁴ Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.

⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow-helpers to the church.

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great [is] my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in our manifold tribulation.

¹⁴ For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boating unto Titus is found a truth.

² For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many. ³ Yet have we sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready: ⁴ Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, and we, that we say not, you, should be ashamed in this same confidence.
