  18 H6430 The Philistines H6584 also had invaded H5892 the cities H8219 of the lowland, H5045 and of the South H3063 of Judah, H3920 and had taken H1053 Beth-shemesh, H357 and Aijalon, H1450 and Gederoth, H7755 and Soco H1323 with the towns H8553 thereof, and Timnah H1323 with the towns H1579 thereof, Gimzo H1323 also and the towns H3427 thereof: and they dwelt there.
  19 H3068 For Jehovah H3665 brought H3063 Judah H3665 low H271 because of Ahaz H4428 king H3478 of Israel; H6544 for he had dealt H6544 wantonly H3063 in Judah, H4603 and trespassed H4604 sore H3068 against Jehovah.
  20 H8407 And Tilgath-pilneser H4428 king H804 of Assyria H935 came H6696 unto him, and distressed H2388 him, but strengthened him not.
  21 H271 For Ahaz H2505 took away a portion H1004 out of the house H3068 of Jehovah, H1004 and out of the house H4428 of the king H8269 and of the princes, H5414 and gave H4428 it unto the king H804 of Assyria: H5833 but it helped him not.
  22 H6256 And in the time H6887 of his distress H4603 did he trespass H3254 yet more H3068 against Jehovah, H4428 this same king H271 Ahaz.
  23 H2076 For he sacrificed H430 unto the gods H1834 of Damascus, H5221 which smote H559 him; and he said, H430 Because the gods H4428 of the kings H758 of Syria H5826 helped H2076 them, therefore will I sacrifice H5826 to them, that they may help H3782 me. But they were the ruin H3478 of him, and of all Israel.
