Anderson⁽ⁱ⁾ ³⁸ But the vine-dressers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and seize upon the inheritance. ³⁹ And they took him, and carried him out of the vineyard, and killed him. ⁴⁰ Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine dressers? ⁴¹ They said to him: He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and let out his vineyard to other vine dressers, who will give him the fruits in their season. ⁴² Jesus said to them: Did you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner? ⁴³ This was from the Lord, and it is wondrous in our eyes. For this reason, I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation that will bring forth the fruits of it. ⁴⁴ And he that falls upon this stone shall be dashed to pieces; but him on whom it shall fall, it will make like chaff for the wind.
