1 Kings 3:4-15

ECB(i) 4 and the sovereign goes to Gibon to sacrifice there; for that is the great bamah: Shelomoh holocausts a thousand holocausts on that sacrifice altar. 5 In Gibon Yah Veh is seen by Shelomoh in a dream by night: and Elohim says, Ask what I give you. 6 And Shelomoh says, You worked great mercy to your servant David my father according as he walked at your face in truth and in justness and in straightness of heart with you: and you guarded this great mercy for him in that you gave him a son to settle on his throne as this day: 7 and now, O Yah Veh my Elohim, you have your servant reign in the stead of David my father: and I am a little lad: I know not to go out or come in: 8 and your servant is midst your people whom you chose - a great people that can neither be numbered nor scribed for abundance: 9 give your servant a hearing heart to judge your people - to discern between good and evil: for who is able to judge this - your grievous people? 10 - and the word well-pleases the eyes of Adonay that Shelomoh asks this word. 11 And Elohim says to him, Because you ask this word and neither ask many days for yourself, nor ask riches for yourself, nor ask the soul of your enemies; but ask for yourself discernment to hear judgment 12 behold, I work according to your words: behold, I give you a wise and discerning heart; so that neither is any like you at your face nor any rise like you after you: 13 and I also give you what you ask not - both riches and honor: so that there be no man among the sovereigns as you all your days: 14 and if you walk in my ways to guard my statutes and my misvoth as your father David walked, then I prolong your days. 15 And Shelomoh wakens; and behold - a dream: and he comes to Yeru Shalem and stands at the face of the ark of the covenant of Yah Veh and holocausts holocausts and works shelamim and works a feast to all his servants.
