ECB⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁹ Hearken to me, O Yah Veh, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me. ²⁰ Shalam we evil for good? For they dig a chasm for my soul. Remember that I stood at your face to word good for them and to turn away your fury from them. ²¹ So give their sons to the famine and pour them by the hand of the sword; so that their women bereave and become widows; and their men become slaughtered; - their youths smitten by the sword in war. ²² Hear their cry from the houses when you bring a troop suddenly on them: for they dig a chasm to capture me and hide snares for my feet. ²³ Yet, O Yah Veh, you know all their counsel against me - to execute me: neither kapar/atone their perversity nor wipe out their sin from your face; fell them at your face; work thus with them in the time of your wrath.
