Judges 7:2-8

ECB(i) 2 And Yah Veh says to Gidon, The people with you are too many for me to give the Midyaniy into their hands - lest Yisra El boast itself against me, saying, My own hand saves me! 3 So now I beseech, call out in the ears of the people saying, Whoever awes and trembles, return and skip about from mount Gilad. - and twenty-two thousand of the people return; and ten thousand survive. 4 And Yah Veh says to Gidon, The people are still many; bring them down to the water and there I refine them for you: and so be it, of whom I say to you, This goes with you, the same goes with you; and of whomever I say to you, This goes not with you, the same goes not. 5 So he brings the people to the water: and Yah Veh says to Gidon, Every one who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, set him by himself; likewise every one who bows on his knees to drink: 6 - and the number who lap their hand to their mouth is three hundred men: and all the rest of the people bow on their knees to drink water. 7 And Yah Veh says to Gidon, By the three hundred men who lap, I save you; and give the Midyaniy into your hand: and all the other people go - each man to his place. 8 So the people take their hunt in their hand and their shophars: and he sends every man of Yisra El to his tent and upholds those three hundred men: and the camp of Midyaniy is below him in the valley.
