Godbey⁽ⁱ⁾ ²¹ For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world even until now nor ever may be. ²² And if those days were not shortened, no life would be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. ²³ Then if any one may say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or, there: believe him not: ²⁴ for false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and give great signs and wonders; so as to deceive even the elect, if possible.
